Great brewery located right off route 95 in Stamford. We stopped in for a beer on our way back to NJ. The bartender was nice and helpful with choosing beers. I started off with a flight of some of their Taproom only brews, which were pretty good. After I finished my flight I got a pint or 2 of their pale ale with melon. Since they don't distribute down to NJ I had to get the most out of the place that I could. I would def recommend to anyone who is driving through or visiting Connecticut to check it out! read more

Such a great time! Half Full is awesome. On Friday, it's $15 for open tap and a glass to keep. There is a "self guided" tour, but more importantly there is great beer and Jenga on the tables. Complete with comfortable couches, fun lighting and a laid back environment, Half Full is a must see for those interested in breweries and beer. This place is great. I haven't been to one of the Friday open houses yet (once it gets warm I'm there) but between the rare beer night and a private event there I'm sold. First, the beer itself. Their flagship Bright Ale is a great substitute for your standard macro lager for higher volume uses, but their best is the Chocolate Coffee Brown Ale, which manages to convey all the rich coffee and chocolate flavors without being a heavy beer like most other coffee or chocolate brews. Alas, it's only a winter seasonal, so get it while it's there! The "Rare Beer Night" once a month is a cool experience, where the owners or their friends bring out small test batch brews with pairings like cheeses. In a group of only 40 people (these sell out) it's cool to talk to the brewers as they really are looking for feedback on these test batches. read more

I wish they had more seating as we were standing for most of the time. They have big tables but a group had taken over most of them. I went to Half Full Brewery yesterday and loved it. I am a beer fan and if you are a beer fan, you need to check this place out. We arrived at 5:30 and we were able to get three pints down by the time they closed shortly after six pm. The $15 deal CANNOT be beat! My favorite was the Hoptimism which was excellent. If you are familiar with the beers from The Blue Point Brewery (which you try cuz they are all excellent), the Hoptimism tastes like a cross between Hoptical Illusion and Rastafari Rye. Both excellent beers, and well represented in the Hoptimism. My wife tried the Honey Kolsch called Bee Enlightened and the Bright Ale and they were great. You will be glad you came so go! I've been to Half Full twice. What I love about this place is how personal the brewery really is. The first time we took a tour of the place, the owner, Conor came out and spoke with us directly about his decision to get into brewing and the journey he took. This was when they took you to the back where the beer was being made, you had the ability to play cornhole, giant jenga and darts. My second visit to the facility was great, but this time brewery was filled with machinery and equipment that you know things are going great for them! Their $15 all you can drink is perfect, especially here in Stamford during the winter months when there is really nothing you can do, besides shovel and wishing you were drinking a crisp beer. read more

They could not make this place any harder to find as "Stamford's first brewery". I highly recommend other places over Half Full for two main reasons. Even though they have added an outdoor seating area, the place still lacks any real entertainment. I think adding a tv would go a long way I would love to come down and watch the game and have a beer. Secondly, they have to now compete with Lock City which is producing WAY better beer. Great selection of IPAs! Relaxed atmosphere with picnic tables and games, bring your own food, and good music. Their chip system to get samples/pints makes for a comfortable and low key experience. It is tough for new breweries to make it, but I feel like Half Full has what it takes. Their brewery is a fun place to hang out, and Conor and the crew are quick to make everyone feel at home. Brewery tours never shine in terms of the atmosphere they are basically factories or warehouses. As far as I'm concerned, a good brewery experience needs an entertaining host, and good beer: and Half Full has it all. I haven't tried all of their beers, but the Bright Ale and the IPA are my favorites so far. read more

We went for a friends birthday on a Saturday afternoon (the biweekly open house), we were able to bring our own food, pay $15 for a glass and have unlimited access to the taps! You can also pay $5 for a small glass to have 5 tastings. The room is rather small, so it gets crowded and busy like a bar, I hope they expand soon! As a transplant to Stamford, I'm really glad Half Full exists. It's a refuge from the corporate vibe of downtown; parking is simple, and being able to bring food and play games in the tap room makes it a great option for going out on a budget. The staff behind the bar are always so nice, and the beers never disappoint. The Bright Ale is a day-drinking favorite of mine, and the Pursuit IPA is a solid choice for kicking up the hops and ABV. Let me tell you this brewery from the awesome owner Connor rocking his movember beard !to the brewmaster we're just pleasant and welcoming. Which expresses the confidence they have behind their product. Delicious!!! Every beer they had to so called sample.... More like offer was liquid excellence. The pumpkin ale is epic I could fill my swimming pool with this. Other awesome beers were a chocolate peanut butter stout rivals and crushes what rouge puts in their nifty pink bottles. And some really great ipa's. Looking forward to trying a rare beer night where the brewmaster puts her brainstorms into reality and brews limited batches for the public to rate. How fun is that!!!! This is a great spot if you're in the mood to go out but also feel like you're in a friends living room. You won't feel like you're in the hustle of downtown here. They have there own parking lot right outside their doors. You go down he steps and kind of feel like I'm in a friend of a friends cool basement. They have a great selection on tap at all times and they keep their beers interesting. The staff is super friendly and sociable but also laid back and I never feel rushed. The space isn't huge and it can be quite busy sometimes- however because of the social vibe they put out there for the crowd, I always feel like it encourages other people to be laid back and more sociable. They have a few high top tables that seat 2-3 people and one really long table that can seat a lot of people at once. Games are a huge bonus! Giant checkers, jenga, board games, trivia games etc. Another bonus is that you can bring your own food in with you! I also believe they're dog friendly. If it were a little bit bigger in space with more tables or couches or something it would be even better, but in any case- they still get 5 stars from me. read more

Half Full Brewery is an amazing event space with wonderful staff and excellent IPAs! My husband and I live in San Diego and spend the majority of our time at the local breweries here. So, when it came time to plan our wedding in Stamford a welcome dinner at Half Full Brewery was the obvious choice. The space rental itself is reasonably priced for the area, and your rental comes with unlimited beer and a few brewery tours for guests. We brought in catering from a local BBQ restaurant which the Half Full team helped us coordinate as well. The staff took great care of us and our guests all night, and people are still raving about the beer selection and service. We look forward to enjoying their double IPA soon :). read more

I have high hopes for Half Full and am excited for a Stamford brewery. Went to an open house and sampled some of their beers such as the Bright Ale. Solid offerings. To be fair and in not comparing their beer to the Farm Hillstead's or Russian River's of the world, but to the local beers such as 2 Roads and Charter Oak, they have some work to do. Only real let down was in getting a growler full of the Bright. Guy at the tap pouring beer into the growler was completely disinterested and as I was watching him fill while he was watching a group playing life sized Jenga, all I could think was oxygenation and flat. And I was right. May make sense in investing in an oxygen purging CO2 filling apparatus. Especially if the growler filling guy is more interested in watching the games than in a careful growler fill. Then again, maybe it's just me and I happened to have the poor fill of the day. read more
