These would have been better if they were fuller & moister. I will try Half Moon at another location; the airport location was not great.

I love when food tastes homemade and everything here does just that! Don't forget to try their empanadas too! The chicken empanada is to die for, incredibly juicy. The Dominican fried cheese paired perfectly with the plate as well. It was crispy on the outside but so soft on the inside . The fresh juices are a must! They offer indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered a beef and shrimp empanada. The total was $14, and it's great that you get to mix and match any two for $14. I was a little bit, disappointed by how salty the empanadas were. I felt like I was sprinkling lime juice in using the cream sauce, just to dull down the saltines rather than for the flavor. The beef and cheese empanada was a bit oily, but less salty, whereas the shrimp empanada was quite salty. I was, however, quite impressed by the yucca fries. Those were very well seasoned, and had a sweetness to them. That was really pleasant! I definitely wanted to like this place a lot more than I did, especially given the hype around them.

One of the most colorful food trucks in the Nashville area, this is an Columbian empanada paradise. My understanding is the empies are all gluten free, as well, which is a bonus. Well done beef empanada. One of the best I have had in my life (the best being Empa Mundo in Irving, Texas). Seems like a simple thing, but the empie, the unique mix of beef, gouda, and spices, and the sauce just work. Simple comfort food, but well done. I would also consider adding on an Avo-Tomato salad or Platano Maduro to round out the meal. Drinks also very authentic for the type of food. Look at their social media to see where they are this week. Basement East is one of their normal haunts.

My experience was wonderful and they're handling the pandemic well and appropriately. I walked into the Plaza Mariachi center looking for lunch. A beautiful young lady cheerfully took my order, which was processed quickly and efficiently. I decided to try the hamburger and the chicken wings. The hamburgesa was a thick, half-pound beef patty cleverly seasoned with a brilliant flavor. It came with a fried egg, a buttered bun, lettuce, and tomato. Admittedly, I was also hoping for the pico, cotija, and remolade that appear as toppings on the menu version. They were absent, and they might simply be out of certain condiments as the coronavirus persists. But that didn't detract from the satisfying taste! The chicken wings are smoked until tender, and then fried for a lovely crisp red exterior. Oh they were delicious! They were missing the tequila lime dressing, perhaps another casualty of the pandemic. It's not uncommon to alter one's menu these days. But they were undeniably tasty! A nice surprise were the hand-cut potatoes that accompanied both entrees, fried just enough for that crispy edge while soft and tender on the inside. I think almost any dish will come with these little gems. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Tres Gauchos!

The potatoes here are so perfectly crispy on the outside & hot & soft on the inside, something you'll want to replicate at home for sure. The real shining star of the menu i think is the hamburger. The patty has to be higher grade sirloin & the seasoning is perfect. they top it with a perfectly cooked egg, delicious bread & standard burger fixings. My wife & i have both had it & think its a top 5 burger in Nashville even when compared to places like the Pharmacy, Gabbys, & other known burger joints. Large portions & better quality food than you'd probably imagine for a food court type location.

I was quickly seated and brought a plate of home made tortilla chips with some warm mole sauce for dipping. Heaven! I tried the mole tamale, and the tacos enmoladas. The tamale was wrapped in a large banana leaf, rather than a corn husk. It had a fantastic ratio of chicken mole filling to masa; I'd say 75% filling. It was warm and moist and oh, so delicious. Best tamale I've had in a long time. The tacos enmoladas were rolled chicken tacos that were first fried, and then covered in mole sauce, and topped with shredded lettuce and Oaxacan cheese. The perfect balance of crunchy and smooth, a bit sweet and a lot savory. Served with a side of crema for dipping. The portion was so large I couldn't finish it at lunch. The servers were friendly; a working knowledge of Spanish is helpful (but not necessary) here. Total including tip was about $23. Next time I'll try the tacos and burritos from the whiteboard menu. Highly recommended for a fabulous and reasonably prices Oaxacan meal.
