    Veggie banh mi

We ordered broken rice bowl with chicken (any choice of protein) and boy it was quite the bowl! Colorful and full of veggie and generous sprinkling of fried shallots over a bed of jasmine rice. We had to order Banh mi since this is what this place is all about. We ordered a No 1 which is always our litmus test. Wonderful assortment of cold cut meats, with generous helping of cilantro, a slice of jalapeño and vege and a LOT of sauce. I wanted to get the veggie (not always an option!) and it was wonderful. Not sure I tasted the eggplant but eggplant isn't a very strong flavor to begin with. It also had a lot of vege, pickles, and jalapeño. All in all the best thing was the crunchieness of the baguette. Man that bread was fresh. I would come back for that alone. I got a maypop tangerine sparkling water and it paired well with my veggie banh mi. My first time trying this brand. Hint of flavor, very bubbly.

I never thought I could be obsessed with bahn mi, but this place stole my heart! If you're ever in Nashville, you HAVE to come here. The bahn mi was so flavorful and left me wondering how I could live life not knowing such rich taste. I would come to Nashville just to have this bahn mi again. The restaurant is a classic sit down sandwich shop where you order at the counter. They have plenty of filling options, and the staff are helpful at explaining which is their favorite. Perfect for a quick meal or a to-go dinner.

Just as good as I remember it! We got the pork banh mi. It was perfect. We ended up splitting a sandwich. I think you could get away with splitting or having a whole one depending on your hunger level. Always quick and friendly service.

We had lunch here. It's Vietnamese, it's different and it's really good. We shared the tofu & spring roll and the Chris's fried sweet potato's. The spring roll was just ok but the sweet potatoes were excellent! For my meal I ordered the Impossible sandwich. It came on a great bun, it was mildly seasoned (it was supposed to have jalapeños but it didn't), tasted very good and I could only eat 1/2. (I saved the rest for later.) There are condiments on the tables but most were about gone. I was able to put some of the red salsa on a few of my bites and that really brought the flavor up. We all really liked this place and I'm certain that we will come back to try other things.

Pork & shrimp Spring Rolls & the Pork Bahn Mi sandwich - deliciousness!

I had an incredible lunch at East Side Bahn Mi restaurant while passing through Nashville. This joint has been on my bucket list for a while ever since I saw Guy Fieri ate there on DDD. For an appetizer I ordered the shrimp and pork fresh spring rolls that came with a house made peanut sauce and enjoyed that dish thoroughly. For an entree I opted for the Pork Bahn Mi and it was amazing especially with the roast pork shoulder with added veggies on a 10" fresh baguette roll. The service was so nice and interior was inviting. They are a no cash restaurant so credit/debit card only.

I had a great little lunch at East Side Banh Mi. The chicken bowl was absolutely delicious, and a great combination of veggies, peanuts, chicken and sauce. I also got rolls that were a little bit on the dry side. The sauce was really thick, and I wish it was a thinner consistency.

This was a really solid Sammy. I liked the flavors and how everything worked well together. Wasn't sure of what to get so I just got the most popular classic one and it did not disappoint. Guy fierri did not do this place wrong! The only thing is that I think it takes a while for the food to come out even when it's not that just so just beware. That could also just be a southern thing lol

We got the veggie and tuna Banh Mis with a half and half (half Vietnamese ice coffee and half toasted peanut rice milk) and a Vietnamese iced coffee with a coconut sweet cream instead of condensed milk. We love that they have vegetarian and dairy free options. Placed was packed getting the lunch rush. Staff was very friendly, always a plus. Sandos were delicious, so favorful - the tofu and eggplant was soooo good. Tuna is great too, with good spice level for those who want spicy. Definitely recommend and will return!

East Side Banh Mi - Pork Broken Rice Bowl

My dining companions and I visited East Side Banh Mi on a Sunday. There was plenty of street parking available. The shop was not busy and we were greeted promptly. I ordered the Broken Rice Bowl with a choice of protein (I chose Roasted Caramel Pork), Jasmine Rice, Farm Greens, Pickled Veggies, Herbs, Fried Shallots, Roasted Peanuts, Spicy Fish Sauce. The portion size is generous and I wasn't able to finish it all. Delicious intense flavors that together made for a wonderfully savory entree. One dining companion ordered the Pork Bahn Mi sandwich with Roasted Black Pepper-Caramel Pork Shoulder served on a fresh house baked 10" baguette with Fried Shallot Mayo, Pickled Veggies, Cilantro, Cucumber, Jalapeños & Maggi. Great taste and fresh ingredients! The other dining companion ordered the Veggie Bahn Mi sandwich served on a fresh house baked 10" baguette with Fried Shallot Mayo, Pickled Veggies, Cilantro, Cucumber, Jalapeños & Maggi. My dining companion that lives in Nashville frequents this restaurant often and this sandwich is his personal favorite. The prices were very reasonable, service was efficient and our meals were ready in swift fashion. We ordered at the counter and picked up our meals at the counter. The restaurant is fairly small, but there were several open tables to choose from. It seems this restaurant does a big takeaway business. While we were eating, so many people came in to pick up orders they'd called ahead for or ordered and picked up on site. We would definitely return and try some of the other bowl and sandwich combinations!

My favorite sandwich in Nashville. I get so excited for this pork banh mi. It's perfection. The crunch of the bread, with the softness in the middle. And it's only $11.50. I get two meals out of it. It's a great take out option. It doesn't get mushy like most sandwiches.

I wasn't prepared for how BIG this sandwich was but I ate every. single. bite. it was so delicious! I had never been here before as I am not from the area so I told the cashier to give me what his favorite was so I ended up with the Pork Bahn Mi. My friend got the Broken Rice Bowl and it was so yummy. There is plenty of seating and parking. Very casual atmosphere. Great stop for lunch. Next time I'm in Nashville I will be back to for that Pork Bahh Mi! :)

First time visiting here, so wasn't really sure what to expect. I had heard great things, so I wanted to give it a try. This establishment was small and seems to be women ran. At least on today the ladies were holding it down in the front and back of the the house. It very chill with a quiet environment. Several areas to eat inside if you should choose to dine in. I opted to get the Pork Banh Mi sandwich. I will give this 4/5. My biggest complain is that the bread is way too hard. I feel like I have cut the roof of my mouth trying to bite and chew it. The pork had quite a bit of fat left on the meat which means as I took a bite I would come across chewing up slimy fat. The toppings that come on it are very light and refreshing. The longer stemmed cilantro caught me by surprise, but it added to the freshness of the slaw that comes on it. The overall sandwich is very flavorful and filling. You won't go wrong with ordering it. The salted plum limeade was really good and refreshing. "Salted" but not salty. More sweet than salty which is a great thing. Their limeades are seasonal, so definitely ask about which is in season if you should go and visit. 5/5 I will definitely be back to try something else.

What makes the banh mi $5-6 more than a traditional banh mi that I could get at another local banh mi shop? Why is the veggie banh mi the same price as the chicken banh mi?

Stoke Haus Brewing & BBQ is hands down the best BBQ experience of my life!…read more A few helpful tips before you go: parking is a little limited right in front and the entrance is easy to miss. There is additional parking around the side in an open lot that felt safe, was free (at least currently), and was super convenient. Once you arrive, walk around the left side of the building and order inside at the bar. They'll give you a pager, and when your food is ready, you'll head outside to the food truck for pickup. When we first walked in, I have to admit I thought, "What is that smell?" Then I realized it was the giant brewing vats and the smell of the beer-making process. Once I connected the dots, I actually started appreciating it and felt it added to the experience and the authenticity of the brewery. We tried their signature beer, a quality dark ale that paired perfectly with our meal. It had a great depth of flavor and was the perfect complement to the BBQ. For food, we ordered and split: Half order of ribs: incredibly tender with a crispy, flavorful top. They were packed with flavor and came with two dipping sauces. I preferred the BBQ sauce over the Carolina-style sauce, but both were enjoyable. Brussels sprouts: OH MY GOODNESS. I genuinely did not know vegetables could taste this good. Even my veggie-hating partner loved them, which honestly says everything. These were a standout. Mac & cheese: visually, this was beautiful and looked like it was going to be a favorite. Unfortunately, it didn't quite hit the way I expected and wasn't as satisfying as I hoped. THE BRISKET BURGER = THE STAR OF THE SHOW! I have never had a brisket burger before, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but this was phenomenal. The Gouda cheese was incredible, and the combination of the mayo, pickles, and sauce created the perfect balance of flavors. It was everything you want in a burger and more. This is the dish I will be telling everyone about. Beyond the food, the atmosphere was fantastic. They have board games in the back, and it looks like they host karaoke nights, which gives the space a really fun, community-oriented feel. Every staff member we interacted with was kind, welcoming, and helpful. Honestly, there was nothing to complain about. Great food, great beer, great people, and a unique experience. Stoke Haus is a must-visit and if you go, do yourself a favor and order the brisket burger. You won't regret it.

You know the places I'm talking about. No, I wanted somewhere authentic. In a neighborhood, not near the mall. A place most people would drive past. Stoke Haus is all this and more. Much more. 2pm on Sunday and the parking lot was full. (I'm sure a good handful was for the liquor store next door). The first issue - how do you get in?? There is no front door. There is a tall wooden fence on the side of the building. I peek through the gap between the fence and the wall. A long smoker, a pile of wood, a small food truck (what???). I see a couple leaving the building by a side door. This must be it. There is a sign taped to the door: order at the bar and pick up at the truck. Following instructions, we approach the bar. The couple next to me just got their food. OMG. That looks so good. I ask what they have...brisket, a pulled pork sandwich, German potato salad, cole slaw, fried okra and a little pile of pickles and marinated onions. I don't even look at the menu. "I want that" I tell the bartender. We each order a beer (I forgot to mention that this is a brewery too). We received our beer and a buzzer, found a table and proceeded to play on our phones until the buzzer went off. My husband went outside to the food truck and came in with a metal tray nearly overflowing with food. We didn't waste a second digging in. The brisket was incredibly tender with a most amazing bark. A little too fatty, even for brisket, but still a "must order". The sandwich was absolutely stuffed with tender, juicy pulled pork. Perfection. The sides, especially the potato salad were excellent (though the okra wasn't made from scratch, it was still worthy). The pickles? That final little "oomph". Our meal wasn't just a home run, it was a grand slam! I've written a lot of reviews. I've written a lot of 5 star reviews. I'd love to be able to give Stoke Haus 10 stars. This is definitely a don't miss!!

Honestly, I was just relieved we found a spot within easy walking distance. We arrived a few minutes late unfortunately and the lights were already a little dim so I couldn't see the place as well as I wanted. Our tickets and IDs were checked as we walked in. The venue is located on the second floor above another business. The steps are a little steep to watch your heels if you're wearing them! Inside there's a small stage and a nice bar. Seating is pretty limited but for our concert the vibe was definitely super high energy/party focused so we didn't mind standing up to bounce and dance to the music. The bar has a nice array of specialty cocktails. I was very impressed with the bartender, Marc, who was attentive, fun, and hardworking. He even went out of his way to help the performer when a few small details went awry on the stage. I don't drink super often and what I wound up ordering didn't taste quite like how I'd hoped it would, but I'm more than willing to chalk that up to my relative inexperience and general ambivalence toward alcohol. The sound/acoustics were great and the whole place was bumpin! I would advise bringing ear plugs to protect your hearing if you're headed to a loud concert -- you'll inevitably be fairly close to the performer and therefore it can easily be suuuuuper loud with the mics and amps and whatnot. I had a great time but will try to remember mine next time! The only main drawback was it got hot inside super fast. We stood by the open entryway for much of the conference and even that airflow wasn't enough to keep us from leaving very, very sweaty lol. Bring water!
