2 pieces bbq chicken, broccoli cheese casserole and sweet potatoes casserole

It was just ok- they took over the old Dairy King building and it's basically the same inside - ample seating , some ok decor but not a feeling of warmth. We stopped in for a quick meat and three lunch and no customers were there at 12:45, does that say something? The guy working the counter was fairly nice - but the food was just ok. I had a pretty good Salisbury steak , blah rice and very blah broccoli cheese casserole- hardly any broccoli or taste to it and I could not eat it. Husband got the bbq chicken and liked it. I'm not impressed and won't return. Also- the restroom doors are filthy from handprints- please clean !!!!

Tender Pot Roast on mashed potatoes with broccoli cheese casserole, slaw, and corn cake. A wonderful lunch.

A solid meat and 3 off Murfreesboro Road where the old Dairy King used to be. Food is really tasty and the portion sizes are large, especially for lunch. Meats and sides change every day, but seem very fresh. Restaurant is clean, staff are friendly and prices are fair. This is a good lunch spot.

3 veggies - cabbage, candied yams, greens with corn bread

This place looked pretty grungy but I felt like that was part of the look. It's cafeteria style service. I got the 3 sides - greens, candied yams and greens. I wasn't blown away by the sides. I tried my friends catfish which was really good but other than that, not impressed.

This place is your average locally owned meat and 3. Nothing extravagant but a good option for a quick lunch or dinner. The cabbage and cornbread cakes are my favorite but all their food is well seasoned. Different days have different side and meat options. They have a variety of homemade pies that will have you feeling like your back at grandmas house. If you visit during the week from 11-1p you'll likely find yourself in a lengthy line with the locals. Parking is free which is rare in Nashville. The location and ambiance lack in appeal but the food more than makes up for that. Overall, if you're looking for a cheap, delicious meal, support this local business and stop by!

Baked chicken Mac n cheese Yams Greens

Bland Mac n cheese .. my baked chicken still had furs sticking out if it .. yams tasted lune straight up sugar, greens had no flavor .. I was looking forward to a nice soul food plate and was underwhelmed. Also ordered banana pudding and received a strawberry concoction instead... idk give it a try if you have $25 to throw out the window ...

Super simple eatery serving up legitimate no frills GREAT soul food. Traditional Meat and three with many choices. We had the catfish and the pork chops. Plate was overflowing and huge portions of love. Everything is home made and it tastes it. All are welcome at this non-tourist trap place

I came here looking for a barbecue place. Instead, I was treated to a delightful amount of meat choices with plenty of sides to compliment my meat! The place is called meat and three because you choose one main meat dish and then three choices of sides, where one can be a corn or garlic bread, depending on availability. Every day, the menu changes, so look at what's available depending on the day. There are some mainstays like fried chicken or mash potatoes. Tonight, I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Ramzy. He walked by me and recommended I get the meatloaf. I told him I was eyeing the pork chops with potatoes and carrots and he said I couldn't go wrong with that either. I made my choice and I was not disappointed. As a side, I ended up getting the mash potatoes and macaroni. It was very very good. The pork chops were very tender and savory. The mash with gravy was plentiful and complimented the macaroni very well. I had a plate to go, so I didn't get a drink. I will now have to visit this place a different day of the week to try the other options! Looking forward to my next visit.

Pepper vinegar, every restaurant should offer the ability to add acid to their food.

Food was great. Legit soul food. I had pigs feet that was perfectly made and even better with the pepper vinegar. The greens could have used a touch more salt, but thats why there is salt on the table right? For dessert, definitely try the chocolate chess pie. Its to die for. Its got a little bit of a hole in the wall feel, but much larger space.

Unfortunately, while the food was visually appealing, the quality did not match the presentation. The women serving upfront were ok. I ordered the fried pork chop with turnip greens, mac and cheese, dressing, and a cornbread muffin. The pork chop was heavily battered and overwhelmingly salty, with little flavor beyond salt. The mac and cheese tasted artificial, as though processed cheese was used. The turnip greens were tender but lacked seasoning and tasted as if they had simply been boiled in water. The cornbread muffin was dry, hard, and bland. The dressing was also very disappointing and lacked flavor. Overall, the meal was extremely underwhelming and not representative of good home-style cooking. I was disappointed with both the quality and taste of the food, especially considering the restaurant's branding. After only a few bites, I discarded the meal entirely. Based on this experience, I would not return or recommend this restaurant. In my heart of hearts, this place gets zero stars...however, I believe that I have to give at least one star.

Ms. Tawana welcomed us to Nashville and we decided on a fish sandwich, fried okra and lemonade. I admitted to Ms. Tawana that I had never had mustard, onions, hot sauce and pickle on my fish sandwich, but I wanted to order like the locals do and suffice to say..I am a new fan! The fish was fried and seasoned to perfection; not too hard, not too soft. Going forward I will be dressing my fish sandwiches accordingly! Okra was on point and the pineapple lemonade was delicious. And just like that, snap of a finger, Ed's make the "Nashville Favorites" list. AP took our order and helped us decide what to order to drink (lots of good choices). He and his frat came here all the time and even knew the original owners, who were welcoming and provided good customer service. Now that it's been under new management for several years, I wanted to check it out for myself and see if it still had the same energy and vibe he described. I usually order the whiting sandwich with everything, and it never disappoints. The fish is always hot, well-breaded, and nicely seasoned. You can order it crispy or regular--just let them know at the beginning when placing your order. The portion sizes are generous. I typically get mine with onions, cheese, hot sauce, mustard, and pickles. If you want extras, there's a small up charge, and if you'd like other fixings, just ask--they're accommodating. I'm not a picky eater and like everything on my sandwich--I love all the flavors bursting at the seams and complementing one another. You pay at the window once you're in line. It's primarily a drive-thru setup, though you can walk in if you prefer. Typically, someone will take your order as you drive up. Lines are usually packed, especially on weekends, but in my opinion, they have great hours. Just be prepared to wait in your car for a bit--though they move things along efficiently and keep the drive-thru line moving. It's a true no-frills neighborhood spot in a community with deep roots, and I'm sure it brings back memories for many who attended college in the area or grew up nearby. It's also well-known enough that out-of-towners make a point to stop by for a sandwich or dinner. Pro tip: Check their hours and take a quick look at the menu ahead of time so you're ready to order when you pull up! So enjoy, my fellow fried fish lovers go ahead and place your order, I think you'll like it over there! And check out my two photos so you can see what I'm talking about.
