    Margarita Lime Chicken
    Abigal S.

Our favorite local Mexican spot! Such a great deal for the amount/quality of food you get. Restaurant has fun environment and even serves pitchers with a sparkler. Service can be a hit or miss but they are typically busy. The margarita lime chicken is a family favorite and we have ordered it several times. We will be back!

What a blast! Went here on a last minute decision and didn't regret it. Lovely outside and fun interior. Food was delish and service was friendly. Highly recommend the Chorizo con Queso and Catcus side!

Incredible experience. Beautiful restaurant and attentive staff. Food is very good value for price!

We went there for our son's birthday celebration. The service is top notch. Laura our server was so sweet and helpful. She organized a secret celebration for our son at the table and he was thrilled. We had a good laugh. The food was very good, hot and plentiful. We have been there before and there is always a pronounced Hispanic clientele there , a good sign for a Mexican restaurant and the atmosphere is friendly and lively. Our son, his wife and baby go there often and always rave about it.

    Veggie Burrito

Visiting Nashville this weekend for a wedding, and last night was our first official meal out. We found a hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant called Tequila's. Entering in, it was not very busy, and it looks like a standard Mexican restaurant. There were 7 of us, but they initially only brought us 2 things of chips with two salsas. We needed at least 2 more because 7 of us aren't splitting 2 salsas. The chips and salsas were decent, nothing spectacular. I ordered a veggie burrito without mushrooms and sour cream and got queso on top instead of salsa. The vegetables were very well seasoned, and the queso on top was nice! The rice and black beans inside was pleasant. The service was not the best--it felt like some things were meant for us to do ourselves. This was a full-service restaurant, so I expect them to at least give us a soda/drink inside the cup to go or hand our checks to all of us instead of making us do it ourselves. On a better note, this place is pretty cheap. You can find decent Mexican food for a good price. Overall, I would say check this out if you're curious. I bet there are much better Mexican restaurants in Nashville.

    Asada Fries

First time we've eaten here and it was fantastic. Server was very efficient & attentive. Food came out fast & hot. The asada fries were great. Big portion sizes. Chicken in the Chimichangas was very flavorful & moist. Often shredded chicken is dried out but not here. Definitely adding this to our lunch rotation. Menus, tables, silverware all very clean. Nice lighting, music & temperature.

We visited with a large party and the service and food were both great. Our waiter made sure we had everything we needed. Our food was served in a timely fashion and it was very good. Among our group we tried the chimichangas, taco salad, Pollo ranchero, and fried fish and everyone was happy with their meal. We are happy to have found Tequila's Mexican Restaurant and look forward to visiting again soon.

    $20.99 churros. Absolute scam.

It was a welcoming and comfortable environment. My son received so many congratulations and appreciation. He was overwhelmed with gratitude. The card on the table was a sweet touch. Sean was a fantastic, helpful resource to help us navigate the menu. The complimentary fries were the kick start to a great meal. Such a variety between the nacho and parm/truffle (which is always my go to with lemon aioli) were our favorite. The pickle flavored fries were also good. Not a sour taste it was more of an herb taste maybe like the pickling spices. We all loved our dishes. The steak were properly cooked, great cuts, hearty portions, and seasoned just right to let the meat shine. My brick chicken was huge, tender, and juicy. The delicious lemon notes came through and the au jus is velvety, creamy, and full of flavor . The bed of potatoes were like clouds of creamy, buttery goodness. I didn't want my bite to end but knew I had another ahead. The mac and cheese was delicious. The noodles still had a light chew and the cheese choice was excellent. It wasn't a heavy carb on the tummy. Brussel sprouts were out of this world. The char is everything to me. A little sweet hint and lime coming in the end to refresh the palette again. I'd go back solely for these. Creamed spinach was also fabulous. The crispy onions on top is brilliant texture. There is a perfect veggie/cheese ratio. The presentation of the smores dessert was fun and intriguing. All of the chocolate components were airy , not extremely sweet. The marshmallow ice cream needs to be sold everywhere. There just aren't enough good things I can say.

It's my last night in Nashville so I want to go to a bang zoom restaurant. A few of my co workers have said to me: Mr Bill, we see every night you're going out to some amazing spots. Mind if we tag along? Sure, the rules are to keep your fork outta my plate when we sit down. Deal? The restaurant is very large, we're shown to our table. Set in the middle of the dining room and facing the bar. The bar can seat at least 25 people, the restaurant is set up for fun. To get our party started, I ordered a well crafted cocktail: Tea'd Up Old Fashioned Made with Bourbon, Black Tea and House Barrel Aged Bitters. Funky?? Oh yeah I'm with a bunch of Military Veterans and they're telling me their crazy stories. I'm sippin' my Old Fashioned and taking it all in, we need to bond over drinks and crazy things we all drank overseas. As an adult, I can appreciate my Nashville TN Old Fashioned with Black Tea. While we're talking, our waitress drops off a plate of homemade biscuits. The biscuits are fire! Buttery, flakey and moist, The Southern Steak & Oyster can make a damn good biscuit. Next, my Gumbo comes to me. The first taste I can tell this is a chef'd up dish. Better than anything I had in New Orleans. This gumbo is filled with Andouille, Crawfish, Shrimp and Fried Okra. Very flavorful indeed. My last entree in Nashville will be Fish 'N Grits. Fresh fish topped with Spicy Tasso Ham over Sweet Potato Grits and Bacon Braised Cabbage. This is a flavorful dish, the grits are very creamy and the cook on the fish was spot on. We had a great night at The Southern Steak & Oyster, it was a pleasure to dine at your restaurant.

On one visit with only a few of us there our bartender disappeared for a good 20 minutes. Upon his return he was focused on everything but the 5 of us in the place until we finally had to ask to get service. The other visit everyone helped me but the actual server. Maybe this is a staffing problem, I don't know but being stuck for 20 minutes to order another drink with my meal is not acceptable. Although they had that check in my hand in under a minute and in under another minute to process. Again, super nicer people, but kind of oblivious. 2) Now let's talk about the kitchen. And I'm adding some input from the other diners because we all sat there waiting. - flavors are great, but the salt and spice level is overboard. I had the mushroom appetizer and nearly choked/coughed to death. I like heat but this was raw spice that overpowered the dish. And the salt about made my feet swell into balloons. Such a shame because the idea is great just poor execution - deviled eggs. Pass - BBQ Shrimp, sort of like the mushrooms right profile but overpowering - gumbo. Two other people had the gumbo and when I asked they said that too is just over spiced I want to like this place, but probably my last visit unless I just come for oysters. Sorry

The shrimp was huge and prepared perfectly! The cocktail sauce was very nice, but I like extra horseradish, which they happily provided. Next up was their Prime Skirt Steak and the sides I chose was their creamed spinach and mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked to a perfect temperature and the chimichurri was so very tasty with it! The mashed potatoes were nice. The creamed spinach looked beautiful and the texture was spot-on, but it had slightly too much nutmeg in it - Still, I enjoyed it. I wanted to save room for dessert though because I was yearning for their Butter Pie, which I ordered eventually. The butter pie definitely didn't disappoint! I enjoyed my experience and will continue to seek out and enjoy Jeff Ruby joints when I travel!

I'm looking for something different, something more contemporary, live jazz and a speakeasy feel. Skull's Rainbow Room delivered. Walking up to Printer's Alley, it's already giving off speakeasy vibes. I did my classic move, Get to the restaurant early and tell the waitress I'm so hungry and promise I won't be here all night. While the cocktails were refreshing and they had a cocktail for every palate, my steak and eggs was bland. It came out a little closer to rare than medium, but I can live with that. But I am not sure I detected a speck of salt or pepper. The steak was at least tender and the sunny side up eggs were cooked appropriately. The potatoes were dry. And I did have the wagyu meatball appetizer. It's a large portion, so easily shared amongst two or three people. Cheesy and saucy with a little spice. The focaccia could've been toasted a little more. I considered the short rib hash, but my server told me it could be salty and hit or miss (I appreciate her honesty and she 100 percent should be praised for it). I came during brunch (even on a weekday). They also serve French toast, desserts, oysters, burrata, potstickers and tuna tartare, salads, burgers and other sandwiches. If you come for lunch or dinner, you can also get grilled salmon, blackened redfish, shrimp and grits, pastas (cajun chicken, pappardelle bolognese, tortellini) as well as various cuts of steak.
