Received the wrong product. They argue that it is the correct product. Photos of the correct product are posted on their website. I sent photos of what I received. They tell me it is the same product. Absolutely not true. The panels I received don't even match the description of what I ordered. They refuse to acknowledge my request to return the product because it was on "clearance". Even if a product is on clearance it should be corrected if the wrong item is shipped. Don't expect courtesy when you wish a correction. On initial order the sales person was very polite. On request to return, look out! Too bad, I'm just installing all new windows. They have missed out on thousands of dollars worth of business. Be very wary! read more

I have bought from Half Price Drapes 3 times and 2 of those times have been terrible experiences! 1) Ordered premade curtains that were supposed to ship in 2 days--Took a month to get! I had to call and speak to someone who, quite frankly, did not seem to have a brain in her head! 2) Got my second order in a timely manner. So I thought OK 1 out of 2 orders, I can forgive and I will order again. 3) Ordered curtains from their annual clearance. Order went through online with payment. 5 days later I get an email from PayPal saying that the order had been refunded. Not one word from HPD! I called and spoke to a similar brainless person who said it was first come first serve. I might have believed her if I hadn't had a similar experience before! I think they gave my order away to a better known customer! This person kept avoiding my question on how the order went through and kept repeating her robotic mantra of "the order has been refunded." Well here is my robotic mantra, "I will never order from Half Price Drapes again!" They really don't care about customer service and I will gladly take my money elsewhere! read more

So far not good. I placed my order 6 weeks ago. I called last week and had to leave a message (never got an actual person) so I simply inquired about the status of my order. I didn't receive a single response whatsoever so a week later I called back and was once again ditched to someone's voicemail. This time I expressed my mild irritation at not knowing what was going on. All I got in response was a generic email stating that they were "looking into it". I was charged nearly two months ago. I ordered a beautiful set of drapes for the bedroom and was very pleased. I then ordered a set of drapes for the formal living room. I was not so pleased. These drapes were rather cheap and not close to the picture. I returned them and carefull read the return policy. There would be a charge if you did not repackage them, so I did. Not as perfectly as they came but as close as it could get. I was charged almost $100 for not having wrapped them properly. Rip off city. They have wonderful, well made draperies at fabulous prices. I bought a set of taffeta silk panels from them. The color is absolutely gorgeous. They lay very well against my window with that special taffeta look, overflowing slightly to the floor. Not only the products are great, staffs are knowledge, friendly and patient. This is an update to my review update--Half Price Drapes contacted me and offered to replace my curtains with some that would provide more blackout features. They indicated that the blackout lining they provide is industry standard, but not hotel level blackout, so it will block most of the light but not all. I know that my previous blackout curtains blocked more light, but I really appreciated the fact that they were willing to work with me to find a better option. In case someone is reading this who is looking specifically for blackout curtains, they said that the darker colors do a better job (we got a light beige). Since I picked the color we have to go with my remodel, I declined their offer, but I must give them credit for making it. If you're looking for elegant velvet drapes that block heat and sound and about 70% of light, these are a beautiful, well-made option. read more

Before placing my order with Half Price Drapes from I read a review online which stated that their curtain hooks are cheaply made and easily break. I brought this issue up with the sales person at Half Price Drapes. he responded "That issue has been resolved, we now include a set of better quality hooks with the shipment in addition to the hooks on the curtain". When I received my shipment, not only was the color "Leichen Green" a Brown, there was no additional hooks included. I called the company and was told no one would have said that to me "We never include additional hooks". Regarding the color the sales clerk responded "that's what we had in stock". "But that's why I had you send me a swatch so I could be certain of the color" I responded. "We sent what we had in stock" he repeated again. it was no unlike talking to a wall. Conclusion: Half price drapes lies to their customers and send whatever color they have in stock. Not a place where you like to spend your money. read more

IF you are fine with getting the absolutely wrong product and working upstream to receive your refund a full month after you returned the product then....JACKPOT FOR YOU!!! HalfPriceDrapes.com has a colorful, wonderful assortment of pictures of drapes, with pole-pockets, grommets and all sorts of lovely features that you desire. But please know that they believe you live in a merry-merry-happy-pixie-dust land where whatever they ship you will be an amazing improvement on what you paid American currency for. Ordered: 4 pole-pocket WHITE blackout curtains. Received: 3 grommet cream blackout curtains and 1 white-ish pole pocket curtain. After emailing and waiting for a response from the, Customer Service Manager for this company, for a month, My wife handed this sisyphean task (look it up) to me... the CSM seems to respond via phone much better than via email and promised me a FULL REFUND since we were shipped nothing that we asked for. She did a great job of getting the base amount (cost of product) back to us in a timely fashion (relative to when I called her) but we are still waiting for the shipping cost, but not holding our breath. IF you have any other option, take it. Might I suggest you scout around, or think about making your own? For the cost of the shipping, I could have put up the finest quality cardboard covers on the window and felt better about it than I felt about my interaction with HalfPriceDrapes.com. I recently ordered 4 - 108" white dupioni white silk panels. The panels arrived very appropriately packaged, were gorgeous, and well worth more than the price. I've only had them up for a few days but every time I walk into my living room they make me happy; they are both elegant and cozy. The customer service (yay Cleo!) is outstanding; I dealt with her both on the phone and via email. She couldn't have been nicer or more responsive. They have a customer for life. read more

BEWARE of this company!!! They are SNEAKY!! I would give it less than a star if I could. They reached out and told me that they will apply a full refund after I first posted my review. Which they did. So I figured it would be fair to update my review to let everyone know that they made good effort to resolve the issues. A month later, I guess they must have thought I don't check my credit card statement. They sneak that charge back into my credit card after a month when we thought everything is done with and all is good. I contact them to let them know my credit card has been charged again after a month, no reply. I gave them benefit of a doubt, so I reached out to them again. And again, no reply for a week now. We have ordered drapes from Half Price for several years--both custom and ready made and just wanted to say what a great experience we've had. Since I don't live in the area, it was a little scary ordering a custom made item on-line at first, but the customer service I received from the company was wonderful and all the drapes beautifully made and gorgeous. The samples really help! Recently we ordered two rooms of custom drapes. One room had 2 sets of the most incredible rich and elegant strauss latte drapes with blackout lining and the other was for a larger slider door/window combo. Because of the fabric and window size, the drapes for the slider didn't work properly, so my customer service rep Jeanette had them remade twice. In the end, we ended up sending them back for a credit because they just weren't right. Although the drapes didn't work out, Jeanette was very understanding, accommodating and interested in making things right. The refund was issued promptly and without question. It's so good to see a company stand behind their product and know that if you have a problem, they will work their hardest to resolve it and make sure that you are satisfied with the result. We ordered the double wide Velvet Blackout Drapes in off-white, and the Velvet Blackout Drapes with grommets in Tidewater Green. The colors are lovely! The drapes are so soft and fall beautifully. They make the room look so elegant! Most importantly, they really block the light, and help mute sound, too! We live in a super-busy section of midtown Manhattan, so blocking sound and light are essential! Now we are sleeping so much better! The drapes were fine, but not the color I wanted. (Purple instead of navy blur) My interaction with their customer serice was the WORST I've ever had. I had the customer service manager screaming at me! It went on and on, I couldn't get a word in and I certainly wasn't going to get into a screaming match. I wanted to write this review because I felt it was important considering I was hesitant to order from this company after reading so many bad reviews. I bought the silk dupoini curtains (not sure if I dupoini right), but they are the most gorgeous curtains ever and I bought them online. The curtains are exactly as described and pictured on their website. I was so scared when I placed the order that they wouldn't be as pictured because of all the people writing so many horrible things. I decided to order anyways because I couldn't find such curtains anywhere else. I got my order in about 3 days and I didn't even pay for expedited shipping! So now that I am in love with the curtains I am ordering 5 more panels for my formal dining room and living room because I am absolutely in love with them. They drape so perfectly and beautifully. Half price drapes cancelled my order nine days after I placed it, without informing me (after charging my credit card, and after I had confirmed the order via email with someone at their website). I only found out when I checked my credit card statement a week later. When I called them, they explained that they did indeed normally take over a week to determine if an item listed as available on their website did in fact exist in their warehouses (this was not my experience in earlier purchases from them). The person I talked to seemed completely unsympathetic with the idea that I might actually feel entitled to receive the items I had paid for: he said the company had sent me an email at cancellation (which was not true), and suggested that I "take my business elsewhere" if I was unsatisfied with their customer service. In the future, I will follow his advice and suggest you do the same. read more

I have to agree with all of the other 1 star reviews. We ordered drapes from here after receiving a recommendation from a family member who had a good experience. She was lucky that she was shipped what she ordered b/c if not, I think her experience would have been much different. Dealing with their "customer service" is an exhausting and time consuming endeavor. We ordered 3 panels and were shipped 2 incorrect panels and one correct one. That ultimately did not matter b/c we changed our minds about the color when we received them. After 3 months of trying to return them and get a credit, we are almost there but it has required frequent phone calls and emails on our part and they still have not refunded us the shipping charges for the original order even though they said they would b/c they shipped us the wrong thing to start with. After this experience, I would rather pay more and go somewhere else. read more

I want to amend my previous review as the customer service from Nancy has changed my opinion of Half Price Drapes. Shortly after writing my initial review I was contacted by Nancy and she apologized for my poor treatment. She also had authorization to correct the situation. They actually made the drapes I originally ordered and shipped them to me after they discontinued the fabric! I just got them and have to say that they are beautiful. They quality is fabulous! I paid the same price for some curtains from Restoration Hardware and there is no comparison - the lining and weight on the drapes from Half Price Drapes is fantastic! I wish I had checked this site before ordering from them... I ordered several fabric samples from them. They billed me via paypal within a couple of weeks. Six weeks later, when I still hadn't received samples, I called the company. Their phone rep. was very rude, and told me he could find no record of my transaction (mind you, I had been billed already for my purchase). He made no suggestions as to how we could resolve the issue. I've started a dispute with paypal over the charge, which Half Price Drapes still has not responded to. I've now escalated it to a claim. In summary - charged for merchandise that was never sent, and then encountered really abysmal and unresponsive customer service. Will never do business with them again. read more

Here's my story dealing with HPD. I also experienced the same telephone nightmare, of not being able to speak to anyone. But what really got me was when I tried to order drapes using their coupon B1G120, which clearly stated on their email offers to me, it was "Buy One, Get One free PLUS an additional 20% off" .....I saved all of those email offers. I went to the site to "test" the coupon code to see how it worked, being the cautious person that I am. The drapes I selected were NOT in the sale outlet section, they were regular velvet drapes. They didn't have the full quantity of drapes I wanted, and it said to "call or email customer service". I emailed customer service several times, well prior to the sale ending date. I heard nothing back. Now, when I tested the coupon code B1G120 in my cart, it did the math properly, taking off the price of one panel per pair of panels; it ALSO deducted an additional 20% off. The only reason I did not purchase at that time was because, as I said earlier, they didn't have enough stock available. (which seems to be the case whenever there is a sale of any kind, many products are listed as "out of stock" ).... After the sale, guess what? I get a reply back from a customer service representative. It was 2 days after the sale that she said, in writing, to enter the B1G120 code online and make my purchase, that I could do that (for the alternative drape she recommended to me). Well, it did not work. After about 10 "back & forth" emails with her, she then tells me (even after I sent her a direct copy of the emails from HPD), that the B1G120 is NEVER for sitewide, it is only for the sales outlet. Well, that is bs. Legally, there was NOTHING in the HPD email offers, during their warehouse moving sale, that said it was restricted to the sales outlet, and that it was not "sitewide" . The way the email offers were worded would lead any average, reasonable consumer to fully believe that this sale was SITEWIDE. Period. Now, she tells me I can only get 20% off the order of a different style of drape. This is essentially twice the price of what the B1G120 deal offered. My mistake was to not take a screen shot of the shopping cart that showed the coupon at work and the exact product it worked on. Oh well.....I guess I will not be inclined to attempt any future purchases from HPD, I think it's too sketchy there, and it seems to employ bait and switch tactics in their sales "Gimics" ..... read more

I ordered 4 50W x 120L French linen panels in ivory and installed them using the back tabs. It's really hard to find 120" + curtains so I was happy when I found this website. The curtains are gorgeous. They will require ironing before installing, which is kind of a pain but that's going to be the case with any medium weight linen curtains, I think. They are heavy enough for my purposes and the pleats train themselves over a period of days so they will fall perfectly if you choose the right length. Shipping was fast. Very happy. Will probably get the same set in a different length for another room. read more

I have been putting off this project mainly because I was afraid that getting online curtains in custom would not turn out well. I finally ordered earl grey French linen curtains in custom measurements. They were true to the sample fabric and well made. Because of the linen fabric, we had to iron out the wrinkles but they are hanging beautifully in our library. Half price drapes delivered quality custom curtains at a fraction of the cost of other online custom vendors. I am happy with my purchase! read more

We were initially pleased with the drapes we received but unfortunately our deep red drapes soon developed large white patches on them due to fading from sun exposure. The drapes had a sun-blocking lining. This company was not willing to stand by their product and would not offer any replacement options. The effects of sun damage were not clearly stated when we bought them. I assumed that drapes that naturally are exposed to sunlight would be able to withstand this, but that is not the case. Overally, I was disappointed in the response I received. I don't think the company cares about customer satisfaction. read more
