I ordered 2 sets of drapes 10 days ago. After 7 days with no communication, I emailed to ask for a delivery ETA. I was told they'd check and reply. They did not. I emailed again today to find out the order had been canceled. They issued a refund but didn't even apologize for the inconvenience. I'm annoyed that no one bothered to do me the courtesy of reaching out. It's basic customer service. I did a lot of price matching and looking at things that would work for our new house, and was excited to see something at Half Price Drapes. After placing my order, I emailed a delivery request, to see if they could accommodate. Instead of contacting me, to communicate that they could not honor a request, they cancelled my entire order, and sent me an email that stated I had cancelled the order. I had not, and so continued to email them confused about what was going on. Rather than communicate with me, to see what I wanted to do, and have me make a decision on my order, they cancelled it. I will be going with a different company for my curtains, because I think it's important to speak to the person who ordered and work with them, over making assumptions about what they might want. read more

I bought so many drapes this year. I bought five rooms of drapes. The drapes are very nice. I am very happy with the quality and look. However I bought another set-6 pairs of drapes for my bedroom. The color did not work so I returned them. The zippered packaging they came in were completely undisturbed. There was nothing about the packaging that needed fixing. Half Price Drapes charged over $30.00 right off the top of the return. That was not postage but a "restocking" fee. Their return policy is very pricey. I have a few more rooms to purchase window coverings for, I will NOT be purchasing anymore from them. To take over $30.00 from a repeat customer because the color did not work is not right. Think about your order prior to purchase. Would it be worth giving Half Price Drapes 15% of the cost of your order-just because? Go somewhere else. read more

I have dealt with HPD on three occasions. I love their curtains. This most recent time however, I was extremely disappointed. I must have ordered the wrong top. I like the grommet but I must have ordered another top, my mistake. Because i did nit get grommet. I called them and asked if I made a mistake. They sent me an email about the return....I wanted to exchange so I called them. Apparently, there are NO EXCHANGES. THE ITEMS NEED TO BE RETURNED AND THERES A RESTOCKING FEE , the items I bought were 178.00 approx. I didn't continue reading so I don't know about a shipping cost. So very disappointed. I purchased Magdelena Steel Blue & Silver Designer Damask Curtains. The color is dramatically different in person than it appears in the photos. It is a deep, dark, drab blue and the "silver" looks almost bronze. Even when held up outdoors in the bright sunlight. Absolutely nothing like they look in their photos. Unfortunately there was no swatch available prior to purchasing and now I am stuck paying the return shipping, It very much feels like a bait-and-switch. Called customer service with my dissatisfaction in hopes that they would pay for return shipping, but they refused. I ordered drapes and sheers to go behind the drapes. The order came and was great quality. However, the drapes and sheers were to be the same length. The sheers are over an inch longer than the drapes and it looks silly. I sent multiple pictures and pictures with a tape measure showing the discrepancy to customer service and they are giving me a hard time about it. And when I try to unsubscribe, my virus protection program warns me not to proceed, so customers must either NOT unsubscribe or possibly get their devices compromised. I have been dealing with this company for over ten years now. I forgot how horrible it was. They intice you with these crazy cheap prices for items like silk. Their website is AWFUL. So, if you plan on ordering from them, realize the search engine on their site is terrible. Plan on browsing for hours. Here is what my experience is. Hopefully, they will see this and fire their website developer. Worst website ever. Search criteria sort of works, but it STILL pulls up an item when discontinued or out of stock. STOP WASTING MY TIME! Seriously. If it is OUT OF STOCK and will be discontinued, remove the stupid page. You can call and it gives you the option of waiting on hold. THEN it puts you into a voicemail, so you never had the option to begin with. Another time-waster. Never hold. Their product SMELLS awful. I am having to fumigate my curtains which now smell like vomit. If I could upload the smell, I would. They currently use India for a lot of their silk, and I am sure the conditions of their plants are horrible. I tried to order from these people for a sale, all their stock was out, the website didn't refresh. Long story short, they sent one part of my product but the rest was damaged, so I couldn't complete it. I had to start over. They will not return custom orders AND they will charge you a restocking fee for non-custom. How do I know? Guess! I got stiffed. HOWEVER; if you can get past all this craziness, order the product that is not custom and hopefully nothing is damaged or out of stock, then the prices are ok - not great. I do like their products once I get past the smell. Good luck. Oh, and I almost forgot the custom silk drapes that I got over ten years ago started to fall apart. I had huge lines of rips in them. Their customer service rep pretty much said that my north-facing room with no exposure to sun caused the damage and they would not work with me. Those were UBER expensive too. Faux Linen blackout curtains. I ordered the swatch first and loved the texture and color. The drapes that I received are nothing like the swatch. They're stiff like plastic, not soft and luxurious like the swatch I received. Then, the invoice said the package required signature. I stayed home on the day it was supposed to arrive. The package was 3 days late. For 3 days I waited for this package and the driver ended up leaving it on my front porch. The box was crushed, damaged. Now HPD is making me pay $50 to return these drapes. I have been trying to contact them and it goes to voicemail. Please do not order from this company. There's no quality control and they won't give you a full refund. read more

On April 27, 2021 I placed and ordered with Half Price Drapes and never received them. On May 5, 2021, I checked the tracking number to learn that they had been delivered by Fedex on May 4, 2021. I telephoned the company to let them know that I never received my order. I spoke to this horrible young lady, who identified herself as the manager, I failed to write down her name, who asked me to confirm my address. The address they were shipped to was wrong, and to be honest I don't know if I inputted the address wrong or if the field was incorrectly auto populated with my last name, 1234 W. Harris. I told her that was not my address, the street name being incorrect, and that the address does not exist. She said that Fedex showed that my package was delivered to 1234 W. Harrison. I told her that not only does the first address not exist but the one they said they delivered my order to does not exist either. She then stated that because Fedex showed it was delivered there is nothing they could do. Assuming I was at fault for inputting my address incorrectly, the address that was inputted does not exist and the one they said they delivered it to does not exist. Her position was that it did not matter because they shipped it to the address on the order. However, Fedex didn't indicate they had delivered it to the address on the order, which does not exist, and instead of sending it back they indicated they delivered it to another address that does not exist. Again, assuming I was at fault, although I'm not conceding that I was, what kind of customer service is that? They choose Fedex not me and the person is obviously lying because neither of the addresses exist! I called Fedex to file a claim and at first they indicated that there was nothing they could do, however, I requested to speak to a manger who, after listening to me, told me that she would file a claim and have a tracer contact me. She also advised me to contact Half Price Drapes because they too would be required to file a claim. I telephoned Half Price Drapes again and spoke to the same horrible manager. She told me that she was not going to file a claim because they shipped my order to the address on the order. When I insisted that she file a claim, she said it didn't matter if they indicated that they delivered my package to an address that doesn't exist, neither Half Priced Drapes or Fedex would do anything to remedy the situation. Seriously? I asked her, so if Fedex indicates they delivered it to any address that doesn't exist, if if the address was correct on the order, and the customer never received their package they would not be entitled to any remedy. Her response was no! Basically, too bad! I will be filing a complaint with the Illinois Attorney General's Office. The Better Business Bureau and, if possible, their corporate headquarters! Don't ever have a problem with them because their customer service is horrible. The Manager could care less that my package was misappropriated! read more

This is a review for: Ice Blackout Extra Wide Vintage Textured Faux Dupioni Curtain. I left a review on the website, but it does not show up. Do not waste your money buying any blackout curtains from this company in light colors. They use a grey blackout fabric that completely changes the color of the drapes from white to grey. The grey is pretty; it is a silvery, light grey, but it is not white. It is sad, because the Ice faux silk fabric itself is a bright and pretty white. I don't understand why they had to use a grey liner. It's a shame. read more

I ordered velvet draperies from this company and received horrible Walmart quality microsuede fabric that did not at all resemble velvet. When I went to return them, the shipping was $90 and I was told they were not at all responsible for misrepresenting their product because they state the fabric is polyester. I have ordered plenty of polyester velvet draperies for my store and never once have I seen anything like this. They have treated me like an idiot, they have answered none of my questions and they refuse to take responsibility for their duplicitous listing. Had I of known these $1000 draperies looked and felt nothing like velvet, I would never have ordered them. So, I'm a window treatment junkie. I change my living areas seasonally, and with trendy patterns, when I get the chance! That being said, I decided I needed to invest in some solid "classic" patterns to hold me over as my mainstays between my Pinterest frenzies. I wanted a good quality fabric, with enough length to allow me to raise the curtain rod to the ceiling, and flood the floors. My current BB&B drapes weren't cutting it at 96". I finally took a chance during the flash sale and ended up leaving with 18 x 120" panels. at a STEAL! Stocked up for moms house too! After some lunch and a nap I find HALF are too long and need to be 108". I race down to the warehouse to find it's completely picked over. Lucky for me, I encounter the owner and he offers me FREE hemming/cut-down to my custom size!! Cherry on top? Free pick up on Tuesday!! Happy customer indeed. if there was a 0 for rating, I would choose it for this company. 1.)the description for a double panel for custom orders was confusing. It reads like you get either 2 lengths or 2 panels ( as you do with the non- custom orders) 2.) You cannot get anyone on the phone if even if you can, they will not redirect a package or cancel the signature requirement. "Custom orders require signature" the small print says. It's coming from outside the US. 3.) the drapes are made outside of the US so signature is required. There is no indication when you will get your delivery , because it's coming from someplace from China, so you can't plan to be anywhere other than home when the package is going to be delivered. If you are unfortunate not to be at home when they attempt delivery, You will not ever get your delivery unless you pay the 50% restocking fee and shipping. I spent about 2 hours with Fedex figuring out how to get this package. NOT WORTH THE AGGRAVATION. I'M GOING USA MADE NEXT TIME. read more

I agree with the reviewers who found their HPD shopping experience a tad better than miserable. It appears as if they've never learned the meaning of c-u-s-t-o-m-e-r service. Each time I've called and the one time I placed an order, I was treated with caustic ambivalence. The product is "good" but HPD's upcharge is tremendous. What's worse is that their "warehouse" is in Asia hence the "plus" however many dollars with each order. I've read HPD's responses to certain reviews and absolutely no reputable business owner, especially in this down economy, would reply to their customers in the manner in which HPD replied to their reviewers. That, in and of itself, is disgraceful. HPD need to step into the present and realize they no longer have a corner on the market nor are their prices reflective of the times. 3 separate orders were placed. The prices and quality are OK and they have a HUGE selection, but their customer service and order accuracy are beyond horrible. The the first order was places and other than the immediate confirmation email, we heard nothing for 6 weeks. Actually we forgot we had even ordered anything. When we called we were told that the order was approved and ready to ship, but nobody was sure why it hadn't. No offer to upgrade shipping or any other compensation was offered. It finally arrived about a week later. BUT...One of the sets of panels was the wrong size. So I called for a replacement set. About 2 weeks later the replacement shows up, but there is only one panel in the package. There should be two. Someone at their warehouse removed one for some unknown reason. Call AGAIN, get another replacement AGAIN and finally, almost 3 months later, we have what was originally ordered. The second order went as smooth as could be expected The third order was for 6 relativity expensive drapes. At least 4 of them had brown spots (kinda looked like soy sauce) on them. That was the last straw. If there is ANYWHERE else to get what you are looking for, go there first!! read more

This company needs to learn a thing or two about customer service. The order process took months to complete and they seemed to have lost my order info twice. They also backed out of my last order after sending me a purchase order via email. They quoted one price and then switched it. I spoke with the owner of the company and he was no help and insisted I pay more than what the purchase order stated. I will never buy from this company again and will make sure to pass on my experience to my friends and co-workers. Burning a bridge in this economy is not a good idea. The manager and owner of the company were both very rude and made up lies. I was over charged $15 twice and feel that this was outright wrong! I ordered some teal colored velvet curtains for my living room. They are weighted and hang perfectly. You can use pin hooks or the two different rod pockets included. They are very well made. I ordered the curtains and they arrived in o e or two days or me ordering them. If you purchase special order curtains it will take a lot longer. After sitting on hold for 15 minutes and listening to a very annoying endless loop recording, I reached a human being. She couldn't answer my question and called me back the next afternoon to tell me they had just shipped them-three weeks later only AFTER I called them. When I asked why the website had said they were in stock, I was told "oh they were in stock they just hadn't been unpacked an put on the shelf until today." What???
