Went in and sat down at 4pm and it was not overly busy at alI. I sat at the bar just trying to get a beer and the two girls walked by me a dozen times and never even acknowledged that I was there. This use to be one of the best places in town to go to for drinks and or a meal. In the last year, before the virus hampered everything this place only rates above McDonands because it serves alcohol. With the exception of Tuesdays and Friday nights the bartenders are outstanding. Most of the waitress are good, but some are not aware they are in a services business. I have been a 3 to 6 night a week customer for the last 3 years. In the last year and a half the establishment has declined in quality of staff, food, quality, and cleanliness of it facility. It is apparent the owners do not care as the above has been addressed by not only frequent customers but individuals they personally know. Over the last few months I have received food orders that were not worth the money or fit for consumption. Boneless chicken wings the texture of beef jerky, BLT or Club Sandwiches that the bacon is either raw or cooked so much you cant chew it, or Shrimp Burgers that the shrimp taste spoiled. You will get a bad meal once in a while at any restaurant, yet it seems at Half Time, a good one is more of an oddity these days. I normaly do not say anything and write it off to a bad day but it has become the norm, not the occasional happening. Tonight (11/14) I ordered a Hot Hamburger Plate to go. When I got home and cut into it, it was completely raw. I returned it and they gladly cooked another. When the new one was given to me, I checked it before departing. Cutting the burger in half it was found to be almost as raw as the first. I just told them to refund me for the meal. As it was apparently too hard for a cook to prepare a done eatable hamburger patty and with the declining quality of recent meals order, I just am fed up with it and not willing to pay for food not fit to eat. The owner was called, my money refunded with an apology that they are having kitchen problems. Yes they have kitchen, waitress, bartender, service, and extrem food quality problem. It is sad as was one of the best places to go for drinks and decent food. Since spring summer 2019 this place has steadily declined. Could be one of the best places in town with proper management or pride of operations buy owners, but seems evident base on the current situation neither exist. A year and a half ago I would of highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for good drinks and food. Now would tell them go to Spunky Mcdooglles or any where else. It is a shame as was and could be a fantastic place if only owners really care. When they frequently have to run sometimes on a daily basis to Foodlion to get supplies to meet the menu requirement it is evident they must not understand or care how to run a restaurant. They often run out of common spirits at the bar as well. That makes as much sense as the ice cream store running out of vanilla or chocolate flavored icecream. So sad and tragic the situation has become. Realy like place but guess stupidity cant be fixed, tired of dealing with it, but owners seem to foster and embellish it for their business model of their opetation these days. read more

Lots of TV's. The volume and sound is near perfect. Love all the high tables. My food burger and sweet potato fries were good, but I would prefer the fries to come out warm. Also, their bar is VERY limiting in selection. I've always had less than good service here. Most of thier food is not frozen and they do not use Microwaves to heat your food. The wings have a light breading or you can get them naked with rubs, with a large selection and choices of flavors. This place is the best place to catch a game, almost any game. The food is good. The wings are my second favorite in town. The fried pickles are the best in town in my opinion. Service is almost always quick and friendly. They have a full bar, focus on whiskey. All other food is a cut above normal sports bar fare. On Tuesday the boneless wings are only 50 cent and they would be a deal at twice the price and the celery and dressing are included. Best deal in town easily. Delicious. read more

Great food, great service in a friendly and clean atmosphere. I am active duty Navy and stopped in while in town for the night and I cannot say enough praise for this establishment. Meagan was our bartender/server and took the time to not only provide excellent service but also to help us get a better understanding if what was available in the local area. Went in for beers and a bite to eat, pleased with the beers - Michelob Ultra on tap! But the service was terrible and the food was even worse. The highlight was the nacho appetizer, with very little cheese and too much lettuce. My friend got a burger and french fries, which were definitely frozen and then overcooked. It takes skill to ruin fries. My chicken strawberry salad was the special and the waitress had no idea what was in it. When it came, I ate the sliced strawberries and that's about it. Undigestable and expensive! The chicken was bland and rubbery, I suspect it was also frozen. They didn't even bother to cut it up, it was just flopped on top of the lettuce as an afterthought. Our waitress was too busy sweeping the floor to bother checking with us. We ordered another round of drinks to wash down the terrible food, but were done long before they came. We usually have a good experience here. Not tonight. The place is packed and there are 2 servers running ragged. Wings came out with almost no sauce on them. No celery on the plate. They ran out of Ranch so we have chips and no dip. Ran out of water 15 minutes ago. Hard to eat hot wings with no drink. I had dinner there last week because it was close to the hotel I was staying at while in New Bern for business. It was crowded and I took that as a good sign. When I came in, the waitress who was busy rearranging tables vacated from a big party told me to see myself. I picked a table as all the booths were full and pull out my computer to get a little work done. The waitress came over and took my drink order and my glass of tea arrived quickly. But sadly, that was the highlight of the night. A couple arrive a few minutes after me and sat in the table to my left. I saw as their waitress gave them menus, took their order and delivered their food. My waitress zoomed by at the speed of light and I always seemed to see her back, unable to catch her attention. I finally got the attention of a male employee... manager, maybe? I requested he bring me a menu and he did. I saw him walk over to the bar where my waitress was standing. She immediately came over to take my order. The menu had been in my hand for 30 seconds. Needless to say, I wasn't ready to order. It was a while before she showed up again and even getting my check was an ordeal... she had forgotten. I got the French dip and it was ok, but nothing special. I won't be returning. read more

Stop to not enter! There are far too many great places in the area to go where the food is always good and service is great! We go weekly with a large group (10-18) service and food quality varies weekly but everyone puts up with it as we are able to talk and have dinner without being rushed. Well, the camel's back has finally been broken..... ordered a burger, medium rare, with cheddar cheese, onions and mushrooms and a side of fries. As our orders started to be served, one in the group order bacon burger with onions.... burger was served without bacon. Another in the group ordered cheeseburger with tomatoes- it was served without cheese. The rest of the group (12 of us) were served, two of us were still waiting for our meals--folks were told to start eating and not wait, our waitress came by twice asking the two waiting for their meals what they had ordered..... after waiting over 30 minutes for my meal, I went to find our waitress to see what was happening to my meal, she told me it will be ready shortly just waiting on my sweet potato fries, which I didn't order! At that point since most of my party was either done or on their last bites of their meal I told her to cancel my order. To add insult to injury, I was charged for my club soda, waitress never said she was sorry about my meal. I paid for my soda with cash and after waiting 15 minutes for change I walked out. Don't have any intentions on returning and will lobby the group to find a different venue. I must just like to torcher myself! Decided to give them another try, what are the odds I would be served last and it would be wrong..... well ends up the odds are pretty good! So we go back, again large group of us, two of us had not been served, everyone else was almost done with their meals. Finally after at least a 30 min wait (the restaurant was not busy) the waitress walks up to me with two plates and asks me if I ordered fries or chips, I say fries and then look at the sandwich and it wasn't even close to what I ordered! This time I asked to speak with a manager, no manager was there. I left. Will never go back and highly recommend you go somewhere else! Have contacted the manager/owner since this and she said the kitchen is small and they do the best they can...... read more

I had a Hot Hamburger for dinner and was really enjoying it until I found a piece of plastic wrap under the burger. I pointed it out to the waitress and asked for my bill. I was surprised when she brought me one. The manager wasn't there but the kitchen manager was. I put my name and phone number on the bill so the manager could call me. He called and offered to comp my next meal. WHY SHOULD I GO BACK??? He should have offered to send me a check for what I payed. read more

An average sports bar. Easily the best TV setup in town with pretty good drink specials. The food is below average. The biggest knock on this place is they aren't as "local" as they try to claim they are. On gameday it's mostly out of town transplants watching their team. I've eaten here a few times and have never enjoyed my food. In particular, anything fried tastes sugary somehow. I can't explain it but the mozzarella sticks especially taste almost like funnel cake with cheese inside and it's kind of gross. Came to New Bern on business trip coming from SoCal and I must say the place is great! There are plenty of flat screens for watching sports. The atmosphere is friendly and the waitress there are good eye candy ;-) they have good buffalo wings for appetizers. I was there wednesday night and ordered the fillet mignon medium rare with baked potato and sweet potato fries. The cut was perfect and the sweet potato fries tasted as I were eating mini churros with even the cinnamon taste to them! The baked potato was nice and big and I also ordered a couple of Yuengling draft which I must've caught at discount price cause total was $4.50 for both!! Mostly national beers so if you're looking for euro Bitter go elsewhere but other than that great place to enjoy a meal! Heads up if there's a local game on cause it'll get quite loud from the fans cheering! Would definitely recommend and will enjoy another meal before I return home. read more
