It's basically a four-star place. Wouldn't go any higher than that. It's Been here a million years and it's not supposed to impress anybody. But you're there for the company and the TV screens and I was there for the Tuesday night trivia 2 weeks in a row while I was home visiting family. They have Taco Tuesday and you get some pretty good tacos for a cheap price! They also have other daily specials. Drinks were flowing and employees were super friendly. Good to go up to the bar to order as they're not really wandering around too much. Lots of people here to play pool as well. Plenty of televisions showing plenty of sports things. Ambience is definitely not there too impress you at all! But trivia was definitely fun and worth it! You're going to be competing against a lot of other teams. read more

Good bloody mary, handmade. Nice big pool tables. The Chicken Cordon balls are sponge chicken, the loaded spuds were decent. Me and my brother played pool there for 3 hours and we were the only ones forking out for the music. (Its kind of a sports bar, kind of a pool bar.) Only thing is it gets hot in the back by the pool tables...at least put a fan on! We had to keep going outside to get fresh air it was so warm. read more

I'm not impressed with the service nor treatment I received here. I entered the premises with a good friend who is familiar with this bar/location. As soon as we sat at the bar, I was informed that it's a 100% I.D. check, but here's the thing...they didn't check my friend's ID nor did they shine their little fancy little flashlight on anyone else's I.D. like their did on my identification. I continued to observe and witnessed other patrons coming in ordering their drinks without being asked for ID whatsoever. The "security" dude was an absolute jackass to me, giving me dirty looks, constantly looking at me and my I.D. and our bartender demanded payment upfront, no offer of holding a tab like I witnessed her ask other patrons. read more

Gig Harbor's dive bar. But if you embrace that fact, you'll be pleased. The food is typical bar grub. Overly cheesy pizza, greasy stuff, nachos piled with ingredients straight out of can. The truth is, I think this bar could be awesome, and maybe we just came on an off day, but the customer service was just so bad, that we won't be back. There were three employees that we saw and one of them (he mentioned he was new) seemed to be doing most of the work for the other two. The other two were not only rude (Seth especially), but seemed quite lazy as well. We ordered potato skins as an appetizer, but they came out after our main courses (which were cold). When we mentioned this to Seth, and the cook, they both shrugged us off. Not realizing that something was previously said, a member of our group mentioned these facts to Seth a second time, and he literally laughed in our faces. Rarely have I been that disrespected during a dining, or bar, experience. After he laughed, I even said, "See? He doesn't care, he's laughing in our faces.." To which, he kept chuckling and walked away from our table. We weren't expecting a five star dining experience when we walked into Halftime, but basic customer service doesn't seem like a lot to ask for. This place has changed quite a bit over the years, and not necessarily for the better. There were more dartboards and less loud top 40 music back when it was a tavern. I must be getting old. Still, there are two pool tables and two dart boards for entertainment and a stage for live music so its not a bad place to stop by. Bartender pours a stiff well @ $3.75. read more

The Saloon was suggested to us by some friendly waitress from the Tanglewood Bar and Grill (which closes at midnight). We walked from the Inn at Gig Harbor to this spot (5 minute walk?) Crowd was very friendly and laid back, the staff was also friendly and laid back. several pool tables and dart boards dominated the area. The best thing about the Saloon? 7.50 PBR pitchers. I wouldn't say its a dive bar. Its more pool hall and sports bar. They have a few big screens a good juke box, karaoke. The food is really decent. I love thier mozzerella sticks and chicken strips. Nothing fancy but great snack food. They have pull tabs and a good beer selection. Most of the bartenders are really nice. Its a pretty young crowd late at night and more mellow earlier in the day/evening. Overall its one of the better options as far as bars go in Gig Harbor. Parking can be tricky and you definitely dont want to drive out of there after youve had too many. read more

After living in Vegas, we were searching for a place to drink late at night since that is what we're used to. I heard by calling a few other places that they were open the latest in Gig Harbor so we figured we'd go check it out. The place only had a few people in it, and they were pretty redneck, but they left us alone so it was a pleasant experience. They have a few pool tables, dart boards and Golden Tee. We'll be back to check it out since its open later than everything else. Don't expect the place to be like Tides Tavern or have a lot of class. Its a dive bar and as long as you aren't hoping for more than that, you'll enjoy yourself. read more

This is the only real bar in town. Drink pours are spot on and the food is typical bar food. What impresses me is the service. They are very attentive and you cannot beat the prices. The atmosphere at the Saloon is different depending on the day and the time of day. Afternoons are quite mellow with an after work crowd; folks unwinding after work with a beverage and maybe some food. The weekend nights are a little more rowdy with competition for the two nine foot billiard tables and dart boards. Every other weekend they feature live bands; they are always good and start by at least nine. The music is mostly old rock with some country added in. They also have a great jukebox, Karaoke nights, televised football games, poker, and DJ nights. Dancing is always allowed. Just stop by a few times; the casual atmosphere will grow on you. read more

I have watched them cut people off in the most polite manner possible and still offer a taxi ride or something to snack on so that whoever was cut off still has time to sober up. Halftime Sports Saloon is located behind Starbucks and Key Bank on corner of Pt. Fosdick and Olympic. The owners are great people and really have the pulse of the crowd in mind. Food is really good and so is pizza. They host various weekly events and have great entertainment. No-fee Texas Holdem on Sunday and Tuesday evenings, Dart Tournaments on Monday, live blues band every Wed night (Billy Shew), Pool tournament on Thur and always something new on Fri-Sat nights. Good mix of rock, country and blues bands. Worth the drive across the Narrows Bridge from Tacoma. Been going for about year and half and patrons are a great crowd and service is fast and friendly. This is not a family friendly place, so no kids. Lot's of TV's for watching sports and playin video poker/trivia. read more
