The service really makes or breaks a dining experience, and I understand it's never easy to host larger groups. However, the Hacker's staff did a wonderful job being accommodating and kind to us! Been here a few times and have always been happy with the meals I've ordered. This time I treated my friend to lunch, crispy chicken sandwich for him and Big Dipper (thin sliced prime rib) for me. Friend enjoyed his sandwich and was impressed! Mine was in the top 3 of all prime rib dips I have ever had! Lots of meat piled high and it came with a "pile" of fries. Tasty, tasty, tasty! The ABSOLUTE worst service I've ever had. Waited 30 minutes to get someone to come over. A group of regulars came over after us (about 10mintues ) and sat down and got served and drink served to their table before we even got a eye contact with the "waitress" Brandy. We decided to give Hackers another try after our last horrible service. We sat down waited 15 minutes, no one came up to us with menus or asked us what we would like to drink. On a Monday morning, there were two other tables that were paying their checks. Another party came in after us, and before they could decide where they wanted to sit they were handed menus and got their orders in. Usually our food and service are excellent! This AM however, we were disappointed, as the "toast" wasn't toasted at all, just a small soggy English muffin and without any butter. After consuming our breakfast without any server attention, when told about my disappointment toast issue, the young server wasn't impressed with my concern and quickly offered another toast, which was WELL AFTER my breakfast was consumed, so no thanks. Service is fine. We often go at dinnertime, but went at lunchtime on 12/5/24. Ordered my usual, Roast Beef Dipper. Very disappointed at the small amount of actual meat and cheese in the sandwich. I used to golf air but took a hiatus, however, when going to a golf course's bar/restaurant, you keep expectations low because all you (as a golfer) care about us beer or lite snacks. Wife and I decided to go with our kids to this place. Nestled off the 16 and behind a residential area, the bar and grill has some friendly staff and is also kid friendly. The kids enjoyed the mini corn dogs, chicken strips and even the Mac n Cheese. My wife has tried the sliders and recently their Hackers Burger and was pleased. For me, I went with the Steak n Fries-simply because it's a great combination. The steak was tender and flavorful and is a nice complement to the slightly seasoned fries. This place has become a "go to" when any of us are wanting good eats at a affordable price. Definitely recommend! read more

Food is very good and the price of drinks is fantastic compared to other restaurants in the area.

Great location with a nice view of the golf course. Folks have been talking about this place since we have moved to Gig Harbor a few years ago. We stopped in for a late breakfast and found great food, good portions and a friendly staff. They also have a large number of tv's and a big bar, which gives the place an almost sport bar feel to it. Worth checking out, especially if you are a golfer. read more

Whoever the new chef is needs to be commended! We have been going here for quite a while now but generally on Tuesdays for taco Tuesday... it's never really been a "special" except for recently when they have not only a cheap run of the mill taco deal (and a generous wine pour!) but an amazing taco special as well. A few weeks ago their pork tacos were on point and tonight they had a calamari taco that was to die for! We've always enjoyed their wedge salad and endless slider options as well! I met some friends for Taco Tuesday. They had the tacos, which I had tried previously, mehhh. We had turkey club sliders and the fried chicken sandwich. Both were a pleasant surprise. I would return and have them again. The "house made" chips were not. Just thick chips from the store. Real home made chips would have been great with a very good sandwich. The place is a bit noisy even when only half full. Our waitress had to stand next to me to hear my order. That probably was due more to the loudmouth customer nearby. We ate here today and had an really good "house burger" and fries. I would say one of the best burgers I've had in a while. It is a double patty with cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles and onions on a really fresh bun. Decent fries that were seasoned just right. This a great pub with well worth it daily specials. The food is always fresh and the atmosphere is much better than most golf course establishments. Excellent view of the course with seasonal outdoor seating. They do a really good "Taco Tuesday" with standard beaf and chicken, hard or soft and usually an alternate special meet (fish, pork, barbacoa, etc..) flat screens all around to watch the games and a real, fully stocked bar. Also have to give props to the staff who are always friendly, welcoming and attentive. Want to mention that there is plenty of room and long tables for larger groups to meet. Hackers has been the best restaurant to go in at Madrona Links in forever. Since they updated and remodeled it makes for an awesome environment to go have lunch with your mom at noon, or go watch a game on Sunday with three drinking friends! Visiting Gig Harbor and the locals recommended this place for lunch and then a little golf. Our son felt like steak and we ordered "steak frites", which was not only a great choice but also quite generous! I had the fish and chips, which was also superb (and I spent three years living in the UK, so I know my fish and chips!). The service was really excellent and our highest rating to our waitress Vanessa, who was somehow managing to take care of our table of six plus a huge party of at least 15 people inside the restaurant. We were sitting on the outside deck, which affords a really good look at the golf course. All added to a very pleasant experience, good food, excellent service and good times!
