Small rocks, medium rocks, big rocks, BIGGER rocks, books, incense, oils, necklaces, rings, spiritual statues... they truly had a lot. What made it even better was the late 90s / early 00s R&B they were playing. This time I wasn't quite on a mission, but it was still such a blast to explore everything that they had to offer. I think there was only one staff member around -- she was floating on the floor and when I approached the register (I did end up finding something) she immediately came over. She was very sweet. I visited the Marshall's today looking for particular items…read more I was pleasantly surprised to find garments in my size and on clearance. I didn't notice one of the garments didn't have a price tag at all, and so when I went to the clerk to be rung up, she pointed it out. I told her that I got it from the same clearance rack, and that there were other garments on the rack of the same brand. She started speaking low and put it to the side; I was under the assumption that she would perhaps call an associate for assistance to find a similar item. No! She just put that item to the side! I told her, I still wanted it, and if it was possible to get something similar. The other garment set I was rung up for was the same price - clearance - and same THING - right down to the quantity in the set! It was just not the same brand. She then shrugged her shoulders and offered a sheepish smile, and I just took that as my indication that I was going to have to get this item myself. So I went - walk of shame - while there were associates in the area who were on walkie and could have easily been communicated with to find an item - to find it myself. I initially became frustrated when I returned to the queue and found it to have accumulated quite a line. I was relieved to see that the clerk waved me back to my spot - though I'm not sure if the customers in front of me were going to be serviced or were communicated with in any capacity... Asides from the lack of initiative from customer service - the merchandise selection is pretty broad and there is are generous clearance deals throughout the store. I was able to find what I was looking for and some things that crossed my mind.

I vaguely remember going to Toys R Us stores when they were more prominent, and while this location has the brand name slapped on the front door, it doesn't feel the same as other toy stores. The store is dark but you can still find things (at least I could with my vision). Good variety of toys and other products to browse. They even sell merch with the giraffe mascot - I bought a plushie keychain one. The store was organized into different sections and displays during my visits. prices are reasonable. One thing that surprised me was the selection of calendars--more than I would expect in a toy store--but perhaps that's part of the current trends? I once bought a book for a baby shower that was on the display for buy one and get one. I didn't notice until later on the receipt it wasn't rung up for that so I returned the product - they accepted the return. The employees didn't engage much while I was shopping and mainly stood at the register. Weirdly enough, I have an old Toys R Us gift card from back in the day I wanted to use. When I tried to use it there, the staff member told they couldn't accept it because this location wasn't considered a "real" Toys R Us store and may not be be there long. I guess this store operates as more of a pop-up? Overall, I'll continue to shop here because they do carry a decent selection of products, but it's definitely an unusual setup. I wouldn't spend that much time browsing in here and this isn't a go-to spot I would recommend to shop at. Admittedly, I do love telling people about it for pure nostalgia.
