Bought a car from this place and thought i had found what i was looking for. Sure enough the day after we buy it, the check engine light comes on. We have it checked out and its going to cost over $300 to fix. Also, when we test drove the car, everything was in tact. After 48 we come back to buy the car. We notice later there are certain pieces on the car that are mysteriously gone. Do not buy from these people. They were resetting the computers so no one would notice the check engine light and they only allow you to drive it for a certain amount time so that the light won't come on while test driving. I rented a 26' Budget truck from this location last Thursday. After paying more than $150 than the quoted on-line amount (insurance and taxes and fees), we got it home and loaded it with our household stuff moving to California. Good thing my buddy and I decided to stop at the Gem Stop outside of Marsing to make sure everything was ok with the truck before we got onto 95 South. Someone at Hallmark left the oil cap off the engine and oil was everywhere in the engine compartment. I called Hallmark and spoke to Theron. He agreed to reimburse me for the oil. So I put a gallon of oil in the engine, put the cap on (it was nested in wires) and all was good. Today when I got to Hallmark, I was told by Roxanne I would not be reimbursed, but she got Theron who wrote out a check for me and apologized. Especially after I reminded him that I save Budget a truck from having a seized up engine due to their negligence. read more

I used the Budget Truck Rental part of this business, which is located in the same office and a part of Hallmark Motors, and I wasn't impressed. Went in Saturday to pick it up and the process to get it rented was rather lengthy even though I had a reservation. They were out of the size of truck I requested so they gave us a larger one for no additional cost (I think) which turned out to be better because I didn't read anywhere that the smaller version didn't come with a ramp and that would have been really horrible. We left Saturday with the truck and the employee working with us told us they are closed Sunday so just get it back by Monday and it's the same price. We finished the move, dropped the truck off Sunday afternoon, put the paperwork with the date and mileage and the key in the drop box. I didn't hear anything from them Monday or Tuesday (seems odd that we specified when we'd have it back and two days went by without us calling and nobody called us to check but hey, not my truck) so I assumed it was ok. That is until the charge from them came out of my account today and was double what it should have been. I called to ask what the deal was and they told me that I'd had the truck for 2 extra days so it was the charge for the additional days. What?!?! The truck was sitting in your lot the whole time and the paperwork was in the box dated for 4/17. Somehow they magically didn't find our paperwork in the box and only just found the key yesterday morning. I have no idea what goes on at this business but I'd be happy to review the security footage of their parking lot from Sunday afternoon with them where they will clearly see my husband putting the paperwork and the keys in the box and see the 16' box truck (not sure how you miss something that size but they managed) in your parking lot across the street for 2 days before anyone noticed apparently. In the end the employee agreed to call corporate and have them reverse the two additional days I was charged for however, my bill still seems high so I think there must have been another error somewhere or an added fee I didn't know about, and I haven't gotten any kind of receipt for the transaction so I wouldn't know if it was. I've always rented my trucks from Penske in the past and decided to give Budget a try this time because they had a good offer going but I won't make that mistake again. I don't appreciate whatever it was that happened here to cause this but I can't have faith in a business that accuses me of lying when I tell them I didn't return it late and then somehow lost the only piece of paper that would have shown them I was right. I'm thankful they made it right and refunded at least some of my money (although he clearly still didn't believe me and made it known). I'm extremely glad it was just a rental truck and not a car I was trying to buy from their extremely tiny, inconvenient lot. read more

We went to buy a car on Monday and was waiting to get the car into our mechanic for a once over. By the time Thursday rolled around, we found out that the price of the car had increased. The person who had consigned the vehicle had decided on Monday to raise the price. The owner did not disclose this until we went to draw up paperwork. We left the lot on Monday at 6:00PM and nothing was said about the price increase. Very suspicious business dealings. Go elsewhere! read more

These guys seem straight-up and to have a conscience. In my dealings with them they really tried to do the right thing. If they have a car with 'issues' they will tell you about that. They have a mechanic on the payroll who looks over every vehicle so they know what they're selling. I like them a lot. read more

They get cars straight from the car auction and put them on the lot. The car I drove had the engine lights come on the dashboard and failed the inspection. A year later the car is still there. My feeling is that this is a lemon dealer. read more

Every car we looked at was clean, had been inspected and fine-tuned by an independent certified mechanic. i don't know where they find their cars, but they are really clean and fresh inside and polished and smooth-running machines. All this, and at a price well below book value. We will definitely be back in the spring to buy a car at Hallmark Motors for our daughter. read more

We just purchased a car from this dealership. I have always been dubious of car dealers in general but they had a nice Chevy Impala on their lot so I decided it was worth a look. My wife and I stopped by the lot late in the day and looked the car over. Theron, one of the salesmen on the lot, approached us and offered some information about the vehicle we were considering. After "kicking the tires" on the Impala I decided it was worth taking to our mechanic for a pre-purchase inspection. I have a good rapport with our mechanic, my family and friend have been taking our vehicles to him for years because he has always done good and fair work. Theron told us that we could take the car to our mechanic for the inspection and offered a look at the vehicle's CarFax to answer some of our questions on the spot. The following day I brought the car to our mechanic who gave it a thorough once over. According to him the car was in nice condition overall but had a few potentially costly repairs that needed to be done (probably $900 total in the worst case). Most of these fixes were related to issues that, from my research, are common to the year and style of Impala we were inspecting. On the way back to Hallmark's lot I put the car through a couple of normal driving conditions that I have learned can expose underlying problems with a vehicle if you pay close attention. Overall the Impala seemed fine when my wife and I put it through its paces. Back at the lot we sat down with Theron and discussed our mechanic's findings and the price of the vehicle. Theron listened to our concerns and verified the key issues that our mechanic found with his own equipment. I should point out that from the beginning of our interactions, Theron seemed to me to be candid and honest. What he said about the car matched up with the CarFax report (which I had already viewed a partial version of on CarFax.com before even going to the dealership) as well as the key points of our mechanic's inspections and my personal experience and intuition from driving the vehicle. I cannot remember Theron saying anything inaccurate about the Impala that he did not qualify with an "I'm not sure but I think..." and most of these details either confirmed or found the correct answer for us. Overall he did not seem to hide anything about the condition, history, or flaws of the car he was selling. In the end he offered about $500 off the asking price given what we had discussed. I explained to him that that figure was still a little too high and we made a cash offer lower then his discounted price but close to the upper end of the car's fair market value according to KBB. He accepted, we signed the papers and drove off feeling that we got a good deal. I normally have some buyer's remorse when making a purchase like this whether or not it was a really good deal but walking away with this deal I felt satisfaction. Theron also wrote into the bill of sale that should we have any of repairs done for the major issues of the car through his mechanic the dealership would cover half the cost. All said and done I am pleased with the experience we had purchasing our latest car from Hallmark Motors. I would definitely look at this lot again if I were buying another vehicle. read more
