2 Stars because my sales lady was worth 5, but the dealer is not. Expect great service from the actual sales people but don't expect to be valued as a customer by management. Went to check out a used car, test drove it, but wanted to get I inspected and it was after hours for shops. Told my sales lady I'd find a place and be back as soon as they opened the next morning. Got an appointment booked and I'm on the way out the door to the dealer when I was told by the sales lady her GM said I could no longer take the vehicle to get inspected because someone was coming in to look at it. Mind you I'm sitting in my car about to drive there as I'm being told this. I 100% would've been there before this other person. I call back a few hours later to get a status update and THAT PERSON WAS TAKING IT FOR AN INSPECTION NOW. Was basically told to kick rocks by the GM, idk if it was his family member or buddy or something but the GM cost his sales lady a sale and I will definitely not be doing business here with any of my future purchases. read more

Best car buying experience. Set up an appointment with Josiah. He had a couple cars pulled out for us when we got there that we had seen online. Josiah was super knowledgeable about the car and features. He was not pushy at all. Very nice relatable and honest. Just a genuine guy. He didnt try to sell himself or the car. I've been to multiple vw dealerships/service centers. Worst one ever! They messed up with my 3rd party Warrenty THEN to find out from my old service rep that I had Warrenty the whole time they just didn't "see" it. The service guys must be brand new because they always seemed lost. THEN after them having my car for a month with no rental of course they called and said they missed something and had to get another part.... I leased a Tiguan from this place and it threw an engine code at 1300 miles. I brought it in and the code had cleared when we restarted the car to get it out of safe mode. When I got there they explained they were too busy to look at it and said they'd schedule an appointment. When I got there for the appointment they explained that it was just for a recall and that they wouldn't run diagnostics for the car. At 2500 miles it threw the engine code again. Scheduled the appointment and the day before the radio stopped working. When I showed them the radio issue the maintenance guy was really condescending and rude. They scanned the car and fixed the cam sensor but I would never buy another car from them. Also, I'd never suggest a VW if you want a reliable car. Can't wait for my lease return day. read more

We bought a 2018 renegade and Josh, the "salesman," never told us that the car didn't come equipped with AC. Can you imagine having to ask if the car has AC on a 2018 and you are testing it in the winter when it is 30 degrees outside? Josh claimed that he didn't know it didn't have AC How can you not know about the cars on your lot?! That is your main job!!! This seems like they were trying to conceal the information to me. I called them and talked to Josh and Peter the "manager" and they basically said it was our problem. So unhelpful and even less sympathy. The only power I have is my business and my experience, so I am passing on this information to you so you don't make the same mistake. Please don't buy a car here. *Note: I gave these guys a 2 star rating because a lot of people won't look at the 1-star ratings, and I want people to see this. If I could, I would give them a negative rating. I bought a Volkswagen Atlas in 2019. One of the main reasons I bought this car was because it had a 6 year/72k warranty. I just took the car in for a standard service. I asked them to look at a couple of things I assumed would be easy warranty items. Both of the vanity lights above the front seat visors were falling out of their mounting holes. And both of the trim pieces on the middle row seat release mechanisms were broken, in exactly the same place. I figured this would be a simple warranty fix. But when I went to pick up the car, I was informed that they would not be fixing either of these issues under the warranty, even though the car was not anywhere near the 6-year point or the 72k mileage limit. What??? Seriously??? I guess the "bumper-to-bumper warranty" is not an accurate description. And then, when I got home and started looking around to see how much the parts would cost, I found this: https://parts.vw.com/p/Volkswagen_2019_Atlas/Folding-Seat-Latch-Release-Handle-Bezel/70089657/3CN888677A82V.html The parts for the trim pieces cost a whopping $2.43 each. WTF? Seriously? And this is from a Volkswagen authorized parts store! They are denying this warranty claim, when it costs less than $5 total for parts? My next thought- Ok, maybe it requires a ton of maintenance time to complete the repair. But no, I went out and popped the trim piece off in about 6.9 seconds. So, to review: Volkswagen of Boise is denying a warranty claim for 2 trim pieces that cost less than $5 and takes less than 2 minutes total to replace. They are also denying a warranty claim to fix both front visor vanity lights that are falling out of their trim mount holes, which would also take about 5 minutes to fix. And all of this is covered under the "bumper-to-bumper" warranty they scream about. I'm sure glad I didn't have a major engine problem to deal with under this fantastic warranty. Verdict? I would stay as far away from these guys as you can. DO NOT BUY A VOLKSWAGEN from Boise Volkswagen. read more

My stepdaughter had a problem with her VW and brought it in here. They quoted her $500 for a fuel valve replacement that was more than she could afford, so I paid that. After servicing the car, it still wasn't working correctly. She brought it back and practically overnight they told her it needed an additional $4,000 in repairs for a wide variety of things that didn't seem to exist the first time she brought it in. I took back possession of the vehicle and brought it to some other mechanics we know and it turned out to be a timing issue that cost $125 to fix. Been running fine ever since. That disparity in cost to repair the vehicle is unacceptable to me, but I'll let you draw your own conclusions. In my opinion, take your VW elsewhere unless you are rich. read more

I posted a previous review that Rachel, VW Boise just replied to saying that VW is "addressing the issue". That is a lie. A flat out lie. And VW Boise is run by a group of greedy individuals who refuse to do the right thing. The General Manager of the dealership has yet to contact me - even after me requesting this. I was told "we aren't going to buy the car back so there's no point". And after I posted negative reviews of my experience, I was banned from the dealership. Per the service manager "our gm has asked me to let you know you're no longer welcome here". So between all of the horrible managers I've dealt with at this establishment this is by far the most cowardly expression of leadership I've ever seen. VW Boise is knowingly selling cars with issues, I've posted a photo of the "work order". A warranty is no use if the manufacturer literally does not have a fix for it and doesn't have an anticipated date that one will be available! Nearly $50k cash and treated like garbage. Update: At the time we met Shelley we did make it clear where the income came from. They had us pay to hold a car without wanting to verify income. If this was a big deal they should have asked for verification first and should have said it at the time they could not hold the car for week. We already had a loan approved. Shelley was personable when we first met her at the dealership. She was quick to locate a car for us, but this turned into a nightmare that we had to quickly get out of. I communicate with her on Saturday that we can come in on Monday. I was letting her know that I wanted to trade in a car. We let her know how much we can put down and which bank we are using. They said that they work with Maco so this will be easy. On Monday, we were in the area and decided to go meet her and look at cars. I already let her know that my partner is buying the car. I also know his schedule. We told her verbatim that we were only able to close the deal on the following Monday. She said sure, but he needed to give them $500 to hold the car. No other days were mentioned because he was not available on other days. On Wednesday, I was asking if the banker got in touch with her and she stated that she spoke with him and sending him info. She also said that the banker should have the purchase agreement. I inquired if she was available Monday for a trade in or two and she said sure. We communicated after 5pm. Then on Friday she sends me a text asking if we can come earlier than Monday. The car manager wanted the paperwork completed. What is the hurry? We gave them money to hold the car and the loan was already approved. My partner is working so, no he can't come and do paperwork. I go in with one of the cars that we want to trade in. I let her know that the car is mine (long story short, the partner is paying for it). This is where they change their tune. Shelley told me that we cannot trade my car in for someone else's car. We talk about coming in on Monday again. Over the weekend I thought maybe I could trade my cars in for something for myself. Monday comes and we learn Shelley's true colors. As we looked over the car one more time, Shelley begins to tell us about my partner's "weird income." Suddenly, the information doesn't match even though he already has a loan approved. The check could have been done through either the bank or the dealership, but Maco doesn't seem trustworthy even after she said it would be easy and they work with them. He reiterated who he worked for. They suddenly do not trust his income and wanted him to bring in the check personally. It was as though he was going to give them a fake loan and get a car for a couple thousand. Can you please be more realistic? Didn't she speak with the banker or was this a lie? I think they are being a little overprotective of a used car that has a little bit of damage and rusty brakes. I proceeded to tell her my idea to trade the two cars in for something for me she flat out said that she can't do that. I think she wasn't even open to listen to my personal needs. Very rude and uncaring. Obviously, not interested in business AT ALL. So, we asked for the $500 back since we decided to take our business elsewhere. She seems a little bit crushed. She goes in and then comes back out, "Can you just take the car?" No, we will take the refund. So, we go inside to get a receipt for the refund because we don't trust them right now either. The car manager comes out with a slightly aggressive walk. He tells my partner how nothing was matching. I seriously doubt that the dealership is the banker; the loan was already approved. He proceeds to tell him that they were expecting us to bring the check; it can be done either here or there. My partner tells him that they lost credibility since the dealership suddenly did not trust his income even though everything is already approved. Then the manager has the brass to attempt to tell us what special treatment we got to hold the car for a week. I cut them both off and told him that they should have said something sooner. Seriously, if it was going to be such a huge problem to hold the car (for $500) they should have said that they could not hold it for a week. Shelley then said that we planned on Wednesday or Thursday, which at this point makes her a liar because I know he is not available on those days. We said verbatim, Sunday (they are closed) or Monday. We got the receipt for the refund and went down the street for the same car and who will give me $1,000 more for the car we wanted to trade in. read more

I inquired on a 2022 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon and simply asked what is the best price can they offer as they have a "get todays price" button on there own website. So I assumed they can better the price a bit. I submitted my inquiry and received a phone call from sales rep Jennifer. I was told over the phone that this is a family owned dealership and they "do not haggle" with pricing. I said fine can you then ship the vehicle to Florida at no additional cost, which then Jennifer (sales rep) proceed to laugh at me and say "don't blame us because you live in Florida". After the phone call I submitted a request to my bank and texted Jennifer confirmation. The following day I forwarded a email from my bank to the General Manager, preowned car manager and sales rep with my approval email showing them I was ready to purchase cash and overnight payment. They never responded to my email. Jeep is your competitor, why wouldn't you want to get rid of used inventory? I get not "haggling" with VW or Audi but this is a Jeep, you only have 2 on the lot at the time of this review. Interest rates on the rise, plenty of supply on the market, why can't you just include delivery? It's only $2000. Your making money on this deal without me "haggling" your price. Seemed like decent people at first but it turned ugly for no reason. All my bank wanted to see a final bill of sale and the overnight address of where to submit payment to. Good luck with your "NO HAGGLING" family owned business. My goal was never to write a bad but a good one, but you truly deserve it.
