TLDR: if you're buying a car from here double check everything because their service department sucks and remember after you sign the line they aren't going to be so nice to you anymore. Better yet if you're going to buy a Toyota go to Edmark. I'm genuinely so sad to be leaving a bad review for this dealership. Our salesman (who has since retired) was great to work with. My disappointment started when I was told the car would be cleaned before the sale was finished, when we got the keys and started moving cars I noticed the car either hadn't been cleaned or who ever does the cleaning for them absolutely sucks. After a few weeks of having the car we drove it up to McCall area for the first time. Coming down the hill the car began to violently shutter when the breaks were being applied. So much so it scared me and my kids, we immediately schedule for the car to be taken into the service department. We were told that the rotors were so warped they could not be fix and we needed a full replacement of the rotors and pads. When we explained to the service department we had just purchased the car they referred us to the sales department. My husband did a majority of the talking with them, he explained the situation and hoped the sales manager would have some constructive advice or be helpful in some way. Boy was he wrong. Aaron the sales manager sent an email to my husband suggesting that WE had damaged the rotors to this extend and that the rotors were fine when we purchased the car. I went down to speak with Aaron and he said the same thing, I even asked "are you suggesting the rotors were fine when we purchased the car?" he said yes. He informed me they just go off what the service department says and sent me that way. The "service" department is nothing far from a joke. They gave me the run around and suggested that because he waved the diagnostic fee "since you just got the car" that he was doing me a favor. I fully understand the rotors being warped can't be visually seen but to suggest I did this to the car in less than 30 days and 1,000 miles was absolutely rude. Then he follows it up with offering me a free car wash... I learned 30 days ago they can't wash cars so why the hell would I bring my car back here?! Especially after the insulted me saying I did this damage. Honestly I've heard things about the service department here before but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt... don't do that! Horrid experience here and a total waste of money. Went in with worn out breaks and an airbag light that was on. On a toyota 4runner I had just barely paid off. Recommended repairs went on for pages. I paid to fix the brakes and the recommended fix for the airbag light being on, which was supposedly something with the seatbelt. Paid seven hundred dollars to fix the seat belt issue. Then, when I was driving home from the shop, the airbag light came on again. So whatever they had done did not fix my car seatbelt or airbag at all. I took it back in and they asked for two thousand nine hundred more dollars to fix the issue, which they said was now the seatbelt harness. So they are basically asking for four thousand dollars to fix a seatbelt issue on a car that I paid twenty five thousand for. And the first repair that they attempted and I paid for did not fix the issue. Highway robbery, shoddy customer service, never talked to a mechanic. And when I got upset at being asked to pay four thousand dollars to fix a seatbelt that was supposedly already fixed, workers were laughing. Corrupt corrupt business. I will tell all my friends to never bring their cars here and never do business with y'all. This business doesn't care about customers or their safety at all. And I paid a bunch of money for no fix. We were in a car accident on September of 2023. We went straight to Peterson to look for a new car. We purchased a Honda Odyssey that 6 months after we purchased it needed half of the engine replaced which was around $9,000. Not to mention when we took it to Peterson to have them look at it they charged us to do a diagnostic and then sent us to Honda in Boise because they didn't know what was wrong. We left them one review already and they told us that they would refund the diagnostic money which was around $125, not the $9,000 that it cost us to get this van that they just received that they didn't even look to see if anything was wrong with it before we originally purchased the Odyssey. We have had to replace the tie rods, front axle, master cinder, plus half the engine, and the tires wear very easily. Aa We are very dissatisfied with the service that we received from Peterson and hope that you will think twice before you go there. We do not recommend this business. They are a big company that does not care about the small people. They called us 6 months after my husband made a comment and told us they would send us a check for the money for the diagnostics back. The guy there totally lied. When I called Peterson Toyota, I was asked if I had a warranty, but didn't, and then was told there was nothing they could do. I've recently bought three cars from Peterson Toyota. You'd think after the first miserable experience it would've been a lesson learned, but I gave them more chances. Each one was an absolute pain. Long story short: this dealership operates like they're allergic to transparency, urgency, and basic customer service. After experiencing buyer's remorse on two vehicles, I tried to work with them in good faith. I offered $5,000 plus a 50% discount on a different trade-in we weren't even planning to use just to unwind the deal. They declined. I even asked to buy back my Tacoma, a truck I loved, and they slow-played me for nearly a week. Through the process I asked to speak to Rudy, the GM, roughly seven times. Not once was he available. Instead, they passed me off to Aaron, the floor manager, Rudy's go-to for uncomfortable conversations. If you ever speak to Aaron over the phone and ask him tough questions, just know he'll probably mute the line, curse under his breath for a solid 30 to 90 seconds, and then unmute when he's ready to pretend to care again. I spent over seven hours at the dealership that week, mostly waiting for answers no one would give me. On Tuesday I was promised clarity by 12:30 PM Thursday. It's now 3:00 PM Friday, and I'm still waiting. That's the level of professionalism here. Out of pure frustration, I ended up trading one of the cars I'd just bought straight into Peterson Lexus, literally within three minutes of taking delivery. The Lexus team was the polar opposite of what I experienced at Toyota. Efficient, kind, respectful. They restored a tiny bit of my faith in the Peterson name, but only on the Lexus side. Don't even get me started on the tint upsell. Their prices are two to three times higher than other local dealers. Absolute ripoff. The only helpful person I dealt with at Peterson Toyota was Mike F. in finance. He was professional, patient, and actually tried to help. I know I wasn't the easiest customer. I apologized repeatedly and explained my situation clearly. I never raised my voice. I didn't curse. I stayed calm and respectful. But instead of empathy or urgency, I got stonewalled. I was up front with management Monday at 10:00 AM, and this dragged on until Friday night. They didn't want to help. They wanted me to go away. Oh, and to top it all off: when my Tacoma showed up on their website after my trade, they listed it as a "one-owner" vehicle. That's a flat-out lie. I was the second owner, and I even have a photo to prove it. Ironically, when I first bought that Tacoma, they claimed they couldn't unwind the deal because it would show a previous owner. My Tundra had a complex electrical issue and they kept working on it until it was resolved. My service advisor, Richard Barnhart, in a word, was excellent. He was very knowledgeable, personable, and cared about me and my Toyota. He felt bad that it took longer than originally estimated, as electrical problems sometimes do, and he gave me every discount and price cut that he could. I bought a 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser from Peterson, and while the initial transaction was fairly straightforward, the experience quickly soured. The sales team didn't clearly explain some of the warranty add-ons, but that was just the beginning of the issues. From day one, we've had an ongoing alignment problem. Despite bringing the vehicle in four times, the issue remains unresolved. To make matters worse, the "Service Manager" Austin told my wife it was safe to veer slightly to the right since we drive on the right side of the road. Ridiculous. I took the truck for a test drive with their main shop foreman, who casually told me, "to be honest, even a stock Land Cruiser could be a little tighter when it came to alignment." That was the moment I lost all trust in them. That same day, I asked them to reinstall the mud flaps, and Austin claimed they didn't fit. We told him to just put them in the trunk. Once I got home, being mechanically inclined, I decided to try installing them myself -- and guess what? They fit perfectly. It's clear they didn't even make an effort. Then, a few weeks later, my wife began hearing a persistent clicking noise inside the truck. After searching for the source and coming up empty, I crawled under the vehicle and found the noise was coming from the driver side lower control arm. Even worse, I discovered that the tie rod nuts were loose! So I tighten them and Walla the clicking noise went away. Hmm I wonder why the alignment is off. To add the day I drove off the lot, I also noticed that the upper coil bucket bolts on the driver's side were not properly tightened after they installed the 2" lift kit.What the actual heck lol It's becoming increasingly obvious that something is seriously wrong with their shop practices. I seriously can't recommend Peterson to anyone looking for a hassle-free, trustworthy car-buying experience. Stay away. We were planning on purchasing a Tundra in the coming months. She asked me if I wanted finance with Toyota and I originally said no because I was approved with my credit union but she offered me a better rate so it made sense to finance with them. She then told me what my monthly pay would be which was $410. (little did I know that she was telling me the monthly payments with the rate the credit union offered me). Then she asked if I wanted to add any extended warranties and I said no at first but then she offered me one that would only raise my monthly payment $7 so $417 a month. That sounded pretty good, i did the math in my head, about $504 dollars over 72 months. It sounded worth it for the free oil changes alone. She heard me talking to my partner about the numbers and never corrected me. So I said yes to that offer. She has me sign the papers one by one telling me briefly what they were for. No alarm bells went off for me and like a magic trick I signed them without reading them thoroughly, which was a huge mistake on my part. I was exhausted and ready to be done and I trusted what this lady was saying to be true And accurate. Next day after a good nights sleep I take a closer look at those papers and see that the warranties I signed up for cost $3,900 which totaled to be an extra $54 dollars I would be paying per month over 72 months. I start freaking out because I thought that the warranty was only going to cost me $7 more a month which would have been a $504 warranty fee. So I go back in to the dealership and ask her what happened and she told me the base pay that she originally told me was with the rate for the credit union. She never mentioned once what my base pay would have been with Toyota financial. I asked her if she understood why I was confused and she said yes. She seemed nervous, probably because she didn't expect me to come back and ask her to explain herself. I believe she did what she did intentionally to make me believe that this warranty was cheaper than it actually was. Since it was within 30 days of signing I got a full refund. Before I left her office I recommended to her to be more transparent about where the numbers she's giving are coming from so that people can make a properly informed decision to which she coldheartedly replied, "Well we recommend that people read their paperwork." I left after that feeling like the biggest idiot for trusting her. I'm sure she has done this before and will do this again to the next overly trusting person like myself. I don't care if this is standard for the sales industry, doing business this way is despicable. There is no honor in it and I have no respect for people who make their money by tricking people into unnecessarily spending their hard earned money on things they don't need. Drove 30 minutes from Star to Peterson Toyota, with the hopes of purchasing a tow-hook cover cap for the driver's side of my 2018 RAV4. I asked for the parts department, and when I arrived, a gentleman at the desk to the back left of me behind the counter asked me what I needed and when I told him, told me I had to go to the Accessories dept. My wife and I headed over, where we were greeted by three nice gentlemen, one of whom was in training. My wife and I stood for about 5 minutes or more (to be fair, we could have sat) while the man in training took all of my contact information, and then walked down to where the parts were and brought back a part, which was not what I wanted. So, two of the men walked out to my car so I could show them the part I wanted. They took a picture, then, once back inside, informed me that we in fact DID need to go to the Parts Dept. They walked us over and spoke with the same gentleman that told me to go to the Accessories Dept. He seemed unconcerned and went back to what he was doing, not even throwing a glance our way. These two gentlemen were very nice and clearly understood that my experience thus far at Peterson Toyota was subpar. They connected me with another, younger blond man, who ordered the part, as they did not have it in stock. He will [hopefully] call me when the part comes in, and I will have to drive 30 minutes from my home to pick it up and pay for it. My wife and I are new to the Treasure Valley, having recently moved here from CA. My wife drives a Lexus RX350 and I drive the RAV4. Eventually, we both want similar vehicles but in AWD. I would guess that most of us do not like car shopping. I do not. Over the years I have purchased at least 13 cars from car dealerships. Most of those experiences have been ugly for various reasons. In the past couple weeks, however, I have had a positive car shopping experience at Peterson Toyota, Boise. I happened upon salesman Jimmy Wilson. If you visit this dealer shopping for a car, you will be pleased to have Jimmy serve you. Honest, very comforting, as he realized this is not a pleasant experience for many of us, and he was never pressing me for a decision to buy. In fact, the several days I was at this dealership, I had the feeling that all the sales people there might be like Jimmy. Whenever I came to the dealership, a sales person would greet me and ask if I needed help finding someone. The atmosphere in the sales department is so positive, as it seems all sales people are willing to help each other, which in turn, actually helps every customer. That said, once you and your sales person come to terms on a purchase, you are somewhat thrown "to the wolves" in the finance department. If you are feeling stressed at this point, I strongly suggest you take a trusted friend (spouse?) into this inner sanctum of finance with you. In this secluded room I was not pressured to buy additional packages, but the process was so rushed, I was not able to think as quickly as the finance person was presenting the offers available. Yes, I am old, but that should have been considered by the finance person. Never was I told the price of a specific item. It was all lumped into a formula that revealed the monthly cost of the loan finance plus the additional item I may have chosen. It was very confusing for me. After such a positive experience on the Sales floor, I felt disappointed after this part of the process. I have asked for a refund for a service I really did not want but was confused at the moment and had accepted. Had I known the exact price for this option, no way would I have chosen it. I went in searching for a new car for my wife. I used her old car as the down payment and added a few $$ to get her into a vehicle I know she will love. I prearranged a meeting and was helped by Katlyn and completed the deal with Elvis. UPDATE: have had the Explorer for 2 weeks. Have an a promisary note to fix a fender that needed readjusting but I have to go through my dealer for everything, I call and leave voicemails, and also text. I call and ask to speak to a manager after getting no response from Elvis, the person that answers calls transfers me to a manager that is gone for the week. Call back and ask for another manager, leave a voicemail, and all of a sudden Elvis responds with a phone call. He told me he would try to talk to the manager about the issues I was having and get back to me. He responds but then goes silent after a quick response. The Explorer's AC compressor died so I called them to look at it. They did, AC got repaired and Chad was very helpful in the service department. They had the Explorer for 2 days September 13th/14th 2023), they were to fix the fender then repair the AC. Instead they repaired the AC but still have not got back to me on fixing the fender. I have called several times and left voicemails for Kevin (bodyshop manager) to call me back yet to no avail as of October 5th, 2023. Another issue that I had was between Idaho Central Credit Union and Peterson Finance Department. I kept trying to set up payments with ICCU, however Peterson's was not responding to the bank. Eventually I went in myself to deal with the finance issue. A simple phone call and a one minute conversation would have saved days, even weeks, of me trying to get a hold of the finance department to solve the issue. I get that people are busy but this is at the point of disrespect by blowing me off. I just wanted my wife to get into a car she likes that would be good for her when she travels around the area or to Eastern Idaho to see her children. I should've gone to another dealer, bought 4 vehicles from them, no issues, but I know people that recommended Petersons so I went there. I should've don.e more research. UPDATE #2: So on 10/9/23 I recieved a call from Peterson's Toyota. I forgot the gentleman was that called but he said he read the review and wanted to get it taken care of. He said maybe I was calling the wrong Kevin (when I called I asked the main operator to transfer me to the auto body shop manager and that was the Kevin I left the voicemails to) and gave me the direct extension to Kevin at the bodyshop. Anyways, I was at work so I couldn't call but Kevin called me on Tuesday 10/10/23. Took the Explorer in on 10/11/23 to be looked at again. Met Kevin in person and he got right to work fixing the fender. The total time took 20 minutes and I was on my way home. He was very friendly and ready to get the fender fixed. The Explorer is fixed and my wife is happy with her new car. Just be aware, you may have to leave reviews for people to return your calls. read more

I have left the maintenance shop multiple times with my warning light still on and air not provided in tires. It doesn't seem like much, but makes you question what else could be missed. This happened to me as well when my car would not start due to a faulty remote start that they upsold me on when first buying the car. They refused to honor previous work and ended up having to pay them 2x just to have it removed in the end. Highly recommend your local mechanic or other dealership over this place. I have been doing business with Peterson Toyota since 2021 I had 2 leases and had a great experience on those! My first car salesman name was Josh and he was fantastic! He left to their Lexus side, so I've been working with Richard and he was so fantastic and helped me get my Rava 4 this past May. I got a message yesterday saying I was short about 150 dollars on my payoff, I asked for more information regarding what that was for and how it was missed since it has been over a month since I got my Rava 4. I asked to speak with someone to further clarify the charge. I got a call today from Dino, one of the manger's and I was so disappointed with how he handled the conversation. He didn't explain the charge but tried to just tell me it's my charge and need to pay it or it'll go to collections and you don't want bad credit do you? No one forced you to take this deal or get this car! He kept speaking over me and wouldn't let me finish my questions. But kept talking at me like I wasn't competent in understanding. When he never explained why there was a shortage missed and why they didn't catch this well I was doing paperwork at the dealership! I've lost trust in Peterson. If that's how their management handles simple questions I'm not comfortable anymore. Best dealership experience I've ever had! Found the perfect truck at a great price, but unfortunately we were 1,000 miles away in San Diego. From the very beginning my email conversations with Shanoa were helpful and personable as we contemplated making the trip out there. Once we got serious about the idea our conversations transitioned to phone calls with sales consultant Bill. Bill was amazingly helpful and patient throughout the entire process, even taking additional photos for us after business hours in the cold. As you can imagine it's hard to commit to a vehicle without seeing it in person, so those photos were paramount to our decision. Once we decided to make the trek Bill picked us up from the airport and was a gem throughout the entire process. He was honest and friendly without the typical pushy or shady sales tactics. Same goes for our Financial Manager Krista. She was incredibly knowledgeable and straightforward, making the loan process seamless. She even sent the necessary forms to our local DMV, leaving very little for us to handle back home. We left the dealership stoked, with the perfect truck at a great deal, and a lower APR than the loan we came in with. Even our roadtrip home was a great experience as we drove through snow and rain in the ideal vehicle. I have had several visits here. Nothing major, but all were very necessary. My first visit was to have the holes cut in the front bumper so I could have an Idaho license plate installed. They didn't charge me and that was fantastic! My second visit was to have a door handle replaced. My driver's side door on the inside was breaking. So one trip to diagnose, one trip to replace. They were quick on the diagnosis. When the new handle came in the next week I didn't wait more than an hour for the repair. The handle has worked well ever since. They have a nice clean waiting room, and the coffee is good. The restrooms were clean. I would recommend this dealership if someone asked. read more

Been taking my new car here for the oil changes. Started parking on my driveway and noticed oil spots. Looked around and found that when they did my oil change they didn't screw the cap back on and oil has been going all over engine, good thing I found it before my oil got low. Sent a message to them and got a text later in the day to call them, transferred to voicemail. Should have looked at reviews of this place. read more

I am compelled to share my disappointing experience with Peterson Toyota at 9101 Fairview Ave, Boise, Idaho. On October 28, 2023, I collected my brand new 2024 RAV4 Hybrid XLE, a purchase I had eagerly anticipated for 2 months. Unfortunately, the excitement was short-lived. After I arrived home, I noticed ten deep nicks on the hood, some revealing metal, some of them lined up on a line as if something sharp was dragged on the hood. Also, an unwashed and dusty roof clearly indicated inadequate application of the "Permaplate" service or no application, which I had paid $799 for. When I raised these concerns, the salesperson attributed the damage to "rock chips" while driving home from the dealership and offered no assistance to the matter. While escalating the matter to the sales manager, I insisted that they make it right. He stated that if I was "so demanding" he would not help me but if I was more cooperative he would see what they could do. I met another manager the next day. He reviewed surveillance footage and said that the footage confirmed that I walked up to the vehicle before driving off the dealership and that was my last chance to inspect the car, I signed the paper and drove home, thus they are not at fault. He told me, "Once you get your hood fixed, we will go ahead and re-Parmaplate that for ya." I have never felt so dismissed, disrespected, and dishonored in this manner in my life. There is no doubt that Toyota is one of the best automotive manufacturers. However, this dealership adopts an attitude that suggests, "If you have an issue with us, we have plenty of other interested buyers for our cars, so your concerns are not a priority." Buyers should exercise the greatest caution if they choose to buy a Toyota from this dealership. Peterson Toyota's lack of accountability and customer satisfaction in this matter is nonsensical and illogical, and it does not match the high standard of the Toyota Brand that the Corporate and the public expect. I'm seeking a fair resolution, including proper repairs to the hood with warranty and an adequate reapplication of Permaplate. I hope this review serves as a wake-up call for their accountability in customer service and how their poor interactions with customers directly impact Toyota's brand image adversely. I urge customers to proceed with the utmost caution when they plan to buy their dream car, so that it will not turn into the biggest nightmare like mine at the cost of years of hard work of saving that kind of money. read more

I had originally posted a 5 star review... However, I've come back here to warn you all. I purchased a used vehicle from Peterson earlier this year. I was told by the salesperson that all the "Vehicle Service Documentation" was on or in the Carfax. It was not. I was given a Carfax "print out" before purchase but unable to view the service history at that time and without paying extra $. Funny how that works huh? Interesting how they did not take the time to show me the "extra purchase for service history" on the Carfax, don't you think? I later paid extra for this Carfax service and found out there wasn't any service history as the Salesperson claimed. The salesperson also stated the brakes had been "done". Apparently, I should have asked "what constitutes "done"?" as the only service on the brakes were the front brake pads. I went through a car wash 2x and on the second run, the windshield suddenly had 2 cracks and the passenger side glass gromet fell off. Someone had superglued both. In addition, both engine belts were apparently cracked as one flew off while on a road trip and on hwy. Fortunately, it was the electrical and not the cooling belt as the temp was 100+. Could have led to engine overheating and subsequent failure. I understand that the vehicle was sold "As Is" and we're on our own from a mechanical standpoint, but if Peterson doesn't care about basic "Safety" details on the vehicle on top of routine maintenance ($200 in parts) to mitigate an engine from overheating and ceasing on us as customers, what else do you think they will conveniently overlook? Funny how when you take a vehicle in for an oil change or repairs and they give you a dissertation on what needs to be fixed, but when you buy a used vehicle from them, they can't do a "Safety Inspection" or didn't think to check the belts, breaks and windshield? We're talking about less than $500 cost for them. Seriously? Come on man. Be better. read more

I have to admit that the staff has always been nice, and I appreciate that. I also acknowledge that when I had an issue initially, they were responsive to one of my issues, and I appreciate that as well. Here's where the downfall story begins. I got an oil change and only five days later my car told me that I needed another oil change. That is totally unacceptable. It was about four weeks before I was able to make it in again it might've been five weeks I'm not 100% sure. Either way when I explained my issue and my concern that the oil was not changed and the sensors in my car recognized at the oil was bad. Their response was that I was almost due for another oil change already, so I paid for another oil change. I was pretty irritated because I know I wasn't due for one five days after I first did it and that's when the dummy lights came back on. They also tried to say that they probably just forgot to reset the dummy lights after the first oil change. This isn't logical either because it took five days for my car to tell me that I needed another oil change. If they didn't reset the lights, then why weren't they on for five days? My car alerts me about it all changed due and visiting the dealership on two different panels on my dashboard. After the second I'll change I saw that they had reset the light on one panel, but not the other. They got back to me later to tell me how to reset the other message on the other panel. I appreciate that. The customer service rep actually gave me a text number to send photos to you and correspond about the issue. She said it was her cell phone and I'm guessing it was her company cell phone. The trouble started shortly after. I got home and when I went to check my trunk, I realized that the mechanics pulled open the spare tire compartment, and when they closed it the trunk liner as well as the rubber liner overlaying it, got pinned in the trap door. I think it may have been the next day, because the rubber underlay of the trunk liner, as well as the rubber liner mat on top of it were both warped pretty bad. They don't lay flat anymore, but curl up. I sent another message in the text thread I had used before but this time I got no response. Granted I was threatening them that I would expect them to replace the trunk liner and the rubber mat over laying it if they didn't return to their original shape in a week. Maybe they didn't like that and decided not to respond. I do not know. I gave it a month And it is now hot outside and if that rubber was going to regain its original shape, the heat would've helped it to do that by now. But it's not any better than it was. You can see in the pictures that the issue was very visible, and it was a careless mistake. read more

I found the car I was interested in on their website, a 2023 GR Corolla Circuit edition. Yvonne was prompt in calling me, polite and professional on the phone. I set very clear expectations during the phone call about what car I wanted and that if they were going to mark up the price, that we can end the conversation now as I have no interest in wasted time for either party and that I would NOT pay over MSPR for the vehicle. The response I received was "your local correct? We never mark up prices for our local customers. (In my mind I was hopefully optimistic, as Dennis Dillion nissan gave me the same line) however, we do not have this vehicle in stock, you will be putting a $1k deposit down, and when the car is available we will give you a call." So I schedule the appointment to go "build" what I want and pay my deposit. During the meeting with my sales associate, they brought up that they miraculously had a few certified pre owned of the car I wanted that just came in, if I wanted we could look at those. I was super excited at this point, having a potential opportunity to get what I wanted now instead of waiting. While the car was the base trim (not the trim I was really wanted) it was fully loaded with all options, making it pretty much the car I wanted. So I said, sure let's run the numbers and make a deal. However the "deal" they came back to me with was highway robbery. MSRP for the fully loaded base model: $40k ROUNDED UP. Price that they wanted for the car: $51K Yes. Supply/Demand yada yada However to have set clear expectations with the phone associate, then to be slapped in the face with the good old bait and switch is insulting to say the least. Who in their right mind, would pay that much extra considering depreciation to begin with when you simply drive it off the lot while having no idea how the performance engine was broken in. More than likely someone beat the hell out of it for 500 miles before getting it back to Toyota. This bad business practice is defeating the purpose of the car itself, a performance machine at a reasonable cost. For $51k I can purchase several other performance vehicles that well exceed the capabilities of the GR Corolla. There was 0 willingness for negotiation on that price as well. You can offer me no markup on a brand new model, but then want to turn around and bend me over for a CPO? No thank you. Then I received a follow up call about my experience, to which I was asked if I still wanted to come back down and put a deposit down still..... do you not hear yourself? Your promise was no markup, only to then mark up, then ask me to come back and put a deposit down if I was still interested? Everyone was polite during the interaction, but being polite does not make up for wasting customers time and a backhanded deal. The highlight of my experience was the sales associate that worked with me. He was professional and empathetic toward my situation, I understand that he is just the mouthpiece of the one making the decision to not negotiate at all. The absolute worst vehicle purchasing experience ive ever endured. I was searching online for a used SUV for my family of 6 to use for our main vehicle, as mine was worn and had over 200,000 miles when I came across one on they're website. My wife and I went in to look at it and the salesman was more worried about showing us brand new ones. When I voiced we were not in the market for a new one serveral times, he became very offended and was rude thereafter. Despite this, we found a used Dodge Journey we fell in love with and went forward on purchasing it. Thankfully, we went with the extended warranty, but they do have a 30 day off the lot warranty. Not even 2 full days from driving it off the lot, it was developing the infamous "3.6 liter v6 tick" and was over heating driving around. I called the supervisor there, and he said the tick was normal and was just the injectors. When is was brought in to be serviced for the thermostat being stuck and causing the overheating, I asked for an oil change as well since it was saying it was due. He wanted to argue with me, claiming they always change the oil when they receive vehicles. This wasnt true, since the tag in the window said it was 500 miles due, and the oil was black and had no viscosity. Eventually he caved and offered it free with the thermostat. After we recieved it back, we drove it for a few months and I continued to try to get him to service the "tick" but I kept getting the same lie. So I ended up taking it to an auto repair shop to get a second opinion, and turns out both timing chains and the camshaft were about to give out. I was very glad I went the extended warranty, as it was over 6,000 dollars to replace these parts, but I only payed 800. Just dont go here, they will lie about anything. I will only purchase from private sales now. read more
