Halls is a great hardware store. They have repeatedly had critical parts I needed when doing a project that the big box stores don't carry. A few examples are SS wing nuts that hold my hurricane shutters closed, a 50 amp single pole breaker, sand bags, and they gave great variety in quality bird feeders. We came in to "take a look" and left an hour later having spent $30 on god knows what! I didn't really need or want anything, but it was a fun store to peruse. Sure, it's got your hardware goods, but we ended up buying things like a mount for your phone while driving ($5, it didn't work, oh well), camping thingies, beach thingies, all sorts of thingies. Staff were very helpful. Aisles are tight, so lots of "Sorry!" and "Excuse me!" while we maneuvered our way through the store. read more

Love this hardware store!! They have been around ever since I can remember, im 50 and I would come here with my grandparents. They have anything and everything you could need, from kitchen supplies to lumber. Could you find things cheaper at Walmart, sure could but I would rather support local businesses over big box stores. Besides why go to Walmart when you could come to Halls and get unsurpassed customer service and be treated like royalty instead of being seen as an inconvenience at Wallyworld. read more

October 28, 2021 Very poor customer service, in the Pet Department of Halls Hardware in Milton, Florida! The workers use to be nice and now, they are not kind, they have forgotten customer service, to many, great, kind, paying customers!! We use to spend about 200 dollars in the store, and we were always kind and caring to all the workers!! But, it is a two way street, and if the good, kind customer receives poor and negative customer service, then, there are many other great stores to spend their hard earned money!! Oct 5, 2023 I had the pleasure of once again going in to Hall's Ace Hardware in Milton, Fl looking for a solenoid for a lawn mower. I had made many stops that afternoon looking for this item and had no luck. Hall's had come through for me on many an occasion so maybe this is the day for repeats. The place for these parts is back in the garden section so after about a five-minute search I was giving up but before I could leave a man by the name of Master caught me and asked if he could help. We walked over to the isle that I was looking on and he explained they are hard to see and pulled the only one off the shelf, ours come in boxes. Unfortunately, this was not the one and Master asked if I could wait and let him check the computer at which time, he said they had 2 more and grabbed a ladder, he was on a mission. After moving that ladder to at least 4 different places he had to tell me that he could not find them and you could see he did not want say this. Master was not done yet, and told me of a small engine repair shop nearby only after telling me they could order it for me but I was needing it now. This place is my retail therapy place I can spend hours here especially in the kitchen area you name it they have it or can get it. Get my worm castings here waiting on more plants to arrive. I always find something new and useful here Like the sliding screens for my windows that I place in front of my original screens so I have peace of mind and get fresh air in the house and my pets get to look and smell the outdoors and they wont damage my original screens, love these sliding window screen. read more

Superb customer service! I would rather have the employees to continuously greet me, ask how my day is , and if I need help with anything every 5 minutes than no one at all. They acknowledge your presence immediately upon entrance and throughout the store. I like how they genuinely wanted to help you and not act you were bothering them when you need help. Hall's has staff that's actually knowledgeable and will go out of their way to help you instead of avoiding you. They have a large selection of all hardware, home repair, garden supply, outdoor essentials, knives, BBQ essentials, and lumber. Their prices are competitive. The store is clean and organized well. I think that there are more people working at Hall's than Home Depot and Lowe's...combined. You can't loiter in here a couple of minutes without an employee asking if you need help. And, unlike a great number of the phantom employees at the national, big-box chain stores, the folks at Hall's actually know what the hell they're talking about. My most recent visit was a quest to procure a sack of concrete to set a mailbox post. One 50# bag of the "no-mix, quick-set" variety was $7.95 plus tax. That's probably substantially more expensive than a sack from Lowe's or Home Depot, but I don't get all itchy-palmed about navigating Highway 90 and sitting at mal-synchronized traffic lights, so I went ahead and paid the price. There are probably objects of hardware in this joint that haven't been searched for, purchased, or seen by human eyes in decades, so you can likely find whatever it is that you need to repair that leaky valve or build that two-legged coffee table. One caveat: The Garden Center building has a stench that will induce hallucinations and headaches. I don't know what substance(s) is(are) producing that miasma of malodorous melancholy, but they could hide the rotting carcasses of roadkill in here and you'd never know it. Cereal, I was more amazed that there's a cash register counter in this building with an employee standing behind it...that should pay extry or something. On fleeing that hut of horrendousness, I resolved that if gardening required any substance that smells that bad, I would assiduously avoid harboring any notion of gardening in the future. I can buy veggies at Publix and flowers from the florist. I'll stick to the hardware side of the store and protect my olfactory organs from molecular-level assault. Support your local businesses and go poke around at Hall's. You'll assuredly find what you need, see some stuff that you've never seen and will never have a use for, and talk to some friendly folks. If they sold hotdogs in this joint, I'd hang out here all of the time. read more

If this place doesn't have it you don't need it. I live in Mary Esther. My wife and I heard about this place from our friends who live in Navarre. As a "Tinkerer" I loved this place. Every kind of bolt, screw or hardware you could hope for. I found things in here that I couldn't find on Amazon. A neat hometown vibe. Check it out. Staff was very friendly when you enter. The store can be a little overwhelming because the shelves are packed from floor to ceiling. I will say the store has everything you can possibly imagine. They even have old timey toys you could spend hours looking at. Along with various other hardware items that can be harder to find in big box stores they have cooking utensils and bakeware that you won't find anywhere else. I thought they could have had a little more on the garden section but overall I was very pleased with the store and it was exactly what I expected and more from my hometown hardware store and I will be back. read more

Yes, lots of help (very important as this store is PACKED). Just about everything you could imagine. Lots of stuff. Why drive to the big box store when it's right here and the gas you save would make up any difference (if there is one)? This is a store where they pay attention to detail... I could spend hours just looking at all the neat and unique items.
