While a little expensive, they had what I needed and once again answered any questions about the tools I had. By the way, if you are looking to rent a finishing nailer, get the butane powered one. It's awesome. Pow Pow Pow! The nails just keep on coming! It made work fun. In all my trips to this location, whenever I asked a worker where anything was, they walked me to that spot. They did not point it out, or walk me halfway there; they took me to the item. By contrast I happened to stop into the Davis location while I was in town. I asked where something was. The worker told me, "Isle X." They did not offer to show me or anything. That is the difference in customer service. While every other Home Depot I have been to has been a three star, this place is a five star!

I was visiting Pensacola for a ceramic art workshop with Peter King and he referred his students to Pensacola Hardware for hard to find items. What a great place, helpful, friendly knowledgeable people. We bought dozens of tools and things we could not find anywhere else. In addition they gave us wooden yardsticks. Great because they dont stick on clay!! When was the last time a hardware store gave you old fashioned wooden yardsticks. read more

I do not like to shop somewhere where the prices are not on the merchandise. I know they have been bought out & it is not like it use to be, where the employees were so friendly & helpful & would acknowledge their customers. Then, I get to the checkout & the guy asked if I had an account. Gave him 2 different phone #'s & nothing! I should have been in their system. It's very discouraging to say the least. They have some nice things but, a bit pricey on some. It may be awhile before I patronize their business again.

I couldn't have been farther off base in my assumption. The only similarity is the helpful staff working in the store, which gained this place an extra star. They greet patrons as they enter and offer to help them find things. Initially, I said I was going to browse around a little and pick up the things I needed. I ended up going back asking for help finding items I was looking for. The clerk working helped me look for the items I needed and then told me they are not actually an Ace Hardware Store anymore. They're an authorized Ace retailer, so they now sell some Ace products, but don't carry all normal items. She wasn't kidding! They don't carry most Ace products. No paint, no stain, etc. This place is mostly a feed store, I guess. I ended up going to Home Depot to get what I needed, they had it. I simply prefer to support the small businesses in a community. In this case, I bought two items at each place. I will try visiting another Ace hardware that's across town that the clerk recommended. I'm pretty sure I won't be back to this store.
