Shrimp, fries, and honey butter biscuit
    Shantelle S.

February 2025 | Over the Weekend | Inside of Slauson Super Mall | After meeting up w/a great friend to go to the nail salon, she & I decided to grab a bite to eat at Krispy Krunchy Chicken, since we were in the area & it's always tasty! Shrimp, fries & biscuit: The 5-Piece juicy Shrimp...delicious & super tasty! Love the thick & flavorful wedge fries too & don't let me get started on the Honey Biscuit...absolutely amazing and I highly recommend it!! Yes, please! Thinking about taking a bite makes my mouth water! Customer Service: Jonathan is always friendly with a smile, which makes all the difference & makes the dining experience even more amazing! Thanks again, Jonathan! It's always fun seeing and talking to him, as his energy is so cool! Good vibes! Thanks for the energy! Seating: There are a few tables! It's always fun sitting down and catching up with my friend whenever we're dining here! Fun way to continue enjoying the day! We always end up meeting other customers who are friendly, as well as incredibly stylish; love when people are true individuals & not afraid to express their personal style! Note: Armed security guards are at the door and will check your bags upon entrance! Friendly security as well! Overall: Fun way to continue enjoying the day! Whenever in the area & craving shrimp & fries, this is the place! Also, since it's located inside of the Slauson Mall, there is plenty of free parking & shopping nearby! Score!

Three pieces and a blueberry biscuit.

Food was delicious and Krispy crunchy! You can't choose your chicken pieces but I got the pieces I like. The chicken was fresh, the blueberry biscuits were delicious and smelled amazing! When you bite the biscuit then the chicken oh my goodness what a delight to your mouth and taste buds! The biscuits were buttery and soft! I went here before and had some questions about the chicken, (is it salty?), the cook was very busy and couldn't answer so I left. I'm glad I tried it today! And the chicken isn't salty *the meal comes with a regular biscuit I bought an order of blueberry biscuits

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Hall's Krispy Krunchy Chicken, located in the Slauson Super Mall, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The chicken was the star of the show - freshly prepared, hot, and delightfully crispy, delivering the perfect bite every time. Complimenting the chicken, the red beans and rice were flawlessly cooked, offering rich and hearty flavors that were simply impeccable. The biscuit was a fluffy, buttery delight, and the potato wedges were cooked to perfection with a crispy exterior and soft, fluffy interior. A special shoutout to Jonathan, whose hospitality elevated our visit to another level. His warm and friendly demeanor made us feel welcome, and his service was impeccable. He went above and beyond by treating us to his personal dessert creations, the banana pudding and kool-aid pie, which were both delicious surprises that added a perfect sweet note to our meal. Jonathan's attention to detail and passion for providing an outstanding dining experience truly set him apart. I highly recommend Hall's Krispy Krunchy Chicken, not only for the fantastic food but also for the extraordinary service provided by staff like Jonathan. This place oughta be called Jonathan's Krispy Krunchy Chicken lol.

This was super fresh and delicious! had to get more to take home . We over heard that the red cool aid was good. We made line again as the lines get very long! Hey that cool aid brought childhood memories !!! Will definitely go back! The chicken tender are delicious! The biscuit is so soft and fresh!!! You must try this pace!!

I eat so I understand things aren't ready all the time. But to not open for 30 min after your start time... Food was good. I ordered online in the parking lot. When I did get inside and told Eat24 device was not charged and hey didn't have my order. Eat called and gave them the order while I stood there. Still only gave me 1 of the 2 sauces requested. Counter clerk was apologizing about the mixup

Ordered the box. Came out to $6.25 w/tax 2 pieces of chicken, fries, biscuit & soda

Place looks clean, Friendly cashier Told him it was my first time here and he was very nice. The biscuit is so soft and tasty(I'm trying not to finish it because it's that good), the fries are okay(big quantity), but the chicken (damn) bomb. Service, quality and price are just right! 5 stars.

Great chicken in a "mall" service is good, ambiance is non existent. The neighborhood is a bit on the rough side, take care.

There is a small seating area, and the seats weren't particularly comfortable, but the space seems intended more for a quick stop rather than a long sit-down meal. I ordered the beignet, breakfast po'boy sandwich, and chicken and waffles. - The beignet tasted good, but the portion was quite small. - The egg in the breakfast po'boy was burnt, which affected the overall flavor. - The chicken and waffles tasted like frozen food that had been reheated rather than freshly made. On the positive side, the service was very kind and friendly. However, overall the food was disappointing.

Every bite had so many flavors, perfectly balanced, and the biscuit itself was insanely buttery and soft easily one of the best I've had in LA in a long time. The restaurant is located at the Beverly Center and does not validate parking. The good news is that parking is relatively affordable at $1 per hour. Since I don't eat meat or chicken, I checked the menu online beforehand and found several options that looked appealing. Unfortunately, once we were seated, we were given a completely different menu. When I asked about it, our server, Lindsey, explained that the menu I had seen online isn't available until after 3 p.m. That was disappointing since I had already planned my meal. We started with the biscuits. They had a strong smoky flavor that honestly made me think they were baked with pork fat or in an oven used for barbecue. Lindsey assured me they weren't made with any meat fats, but the smoky flavor was definitely noticeable. I ordered the salmon with microgreens and a side of mac and cheese. My partner ordered the steak and eggs with hash browns, and we both enjoyed the mint mocktails--they were refreshing and one of the highlights of the meal. The salmon was cooked well and I enjoyed it. The mac and cheese, however, was a huge letdown. It arrived in a cute little cast-iron skillet on a butcher block, so the presentation was great, but the taste didn't match the appearance. It reminded me of boxed mac and cheese made with powdered cheese, topped with Parmesan just to create a crust. It was runny, lacked richness, and there wasn't even a hint of that satisfying cheese pull. Unfortunately, there were service issues as well. My partner specifically ordered his eggs over hard, but they weren't prepared that way. His hash browns never arrived at the table, and on the drive home he realized we had been charged for them. He intended to mention it before leaving but simply forgot. The biggest positive is the restaurant itself. It's beautiful, stylish, and has a great ambiance. Beyond that, though, I found the food to be average for the price. Even by Los Angeles standards, $42 for chicken and waffles feels excessive. Overall, Yardbird looks better than it tastes. While there were a few bright spots, the inconsistent service, menu confusion, and underwhelming food don't justify the price. Unfortunately, I don't see myself returning.

Although it's no longer my FAVORITE food and I only indulge sparingly, I still have an affinity for it, and can quickly separate the good from the bad. Willie Mae's can confidently go into the good pile. The perfect texture of the batter is the standout. It's light and crisp. Head to head, I think I prefer the flavors and juiciness of Gus's fried chicken. I'll have to give Willie Mae's another go to confirm that this is indeed the case. But Willie Mae's is situated in a better area, it's got civilized sit down table service, cuter decor, and it has way better sides. Knowing myself, I predict that one day, I will decide to remove poultry as well from my diet (I've long excluded mammals from my diet). Hopefully more visits to Willie Mae's will happen before that day organically comes upon us.

When they opened in the westside, I believe it was a take out only situation. Since I do not live in the area, it was not a convenient situation. During this recent DineLA restaurant week, I met a friend there for lunch. Now they have a fairly large sit down dining room that was quite busy and it seems like there was a steady stream of takeout. Our server, Desiree was fantastic. She told me this branch was started by the same folks of the original in New Orleans. Due to a an issue with the freeway closure and horrible traffic, we were very late and she kindly honored our reservation. The food was fantastic. Great crunchy and spice on the chicken (it is on the spicy side so be careful if you cannot handle the heat). The little corn breads were just the right amount. We tried the yams, which is a must, but also shared some of the other sides. The cabbage is cooked kind of like collard greens. The butter beans and rice is very tasty. We also tried the mashed potatoes and gravy. All sides are vegan, which I thought was done for the local L.A. crowd, but we were told the sides are vegan in the original recipes. Next time I'd like to try the gumbo and other dishes on the menu.
