Though it's posted that they open at 11am, I'd say it's a loose opening time. I got there at 11:30 and the gates were closed but I heard music inside so was able to wave someone down to open the door and they confirmed they are open. Everything was just okay (service was great though). The food--we got a whole chicken with beans, Mac and cheese and coleslaw. The Mac and cheese was pretty flavorless, there were gobs of cheese on top but then the pasta was just naked. The coleslaw was also not really dressed, not sure if they didn't toss it enough or if the type of dressing they're using just falls to the bottom but it was pretty flavorless until we got to the bottom. The tortillas aren't great, they could level up if they used fresh masa to make them in house. The salsas are also pretty flavorless and not spicy at all. Beans were okay. Chicken was okay. Giving this spot a three, because overall the spot was good. It got its own flavors, for example the chicken isn't your typical rotisserie flavor, it has a smoky flavor. Love the garlic sauce on the side and the chimichuri sauce. I little disappointed on the tortillas, you only get two in a meal. Their aguas are alright, not the best, although I did get mines for free, for being my first time here. The chicken , rice and beans though; pretty good. I was greeted when I walked in and helped right away. The employees were nice. I ordered a two piece with rice and Cole slaw. The chicken was hot, seasoned and cooked well, the rice had a good flavor and I believe the Cole slaw was homemade but I could be wrong, ok. They give you dipping sauce and fresh warm corn tortillas. My favorite sauce was the garlic sauce and the red hot sauce. They have other items available that I plan to try , like the flautas. The location has a seating area inside and an outdoor patio area is coming soon. Ok, so im a real foodie, not a pretender. So first takes on this place, its centrally located good parking and a clean looking place. The guy behind the register was smooth, attentive, and made sure I had everything I needed. The smell in this place had me salivating, I was ready to get down. But... When I got to the house I sat down after running up the stairs, ok so boom, I bust open the bag and it looks really good!!!I tasted the sauces first, garlic sauce was ok not super crazy about it, the chimchurri was on point as well as the Chipotle sauce. The rice was tad bit dry I did come in before closing by 30 minutes, but it was well seasoned. The cilantro slaw was ok, not wet enough needed a little more luv, it just dragged for me a tiny bit. The chicken was good, but just good needed less time on the grill, which is why ordered dark meat. ALL IN ALL, its cool if you want to switch up on pollo loco. But im not impressed enough. We ordered 1 1/2 chickens, a bunch of different sides including rice, beans, macaroni, corn and fries, a plate of nachos with shredded chicken and a burrito, all were amazing and juicy an flavorful with a nice smokey taste. My wife or I have come for takeout 3 times in the past 3 weeks, always ordering the whole roasted chicken, and different sides. Excellent smokey roasted chicken. The aroma is wonderful (mesquite?) and the chicken is flavorful and cooked just right. We always get the rice and beans as sides, both are very good. The tortillas are also very good - you can smell the corn when you open the foil. The chicken does not need any sauce because it's already delicious on its own. However, I've tried four sauces to accompany the chicken, rice, and beans: chimichurri (my favorite), garlic (good), Jalepeno crema (good), salsa roja (nothing special). We've also tried a few other sides: potato salad (very good), slaw (needs a bit more dressing ), french fries (homemade, not from frozen) Try them out - it's good food and it's important to support small places like this, right in the community. read more
