I bought a groupon to get my car detailed. But I should have spent the extra 50-100$ to get a better detailing job. My experience from the beginning was terrible. The first time I called I spoke to male who said that I should call back the next day because the receptionist were out for the rest of the day.. the phone call was at noon.. I called the next day and the receptionist was rude. Also, if you want to use the groupon before the expiration date I highly recommend that you call a month in advance as it took me 5 weeks to get an appointment in... I scheduled to drop my car off at 10am and did not get my car back until 7pm which is the closing time on saturdays.. it should not take that long to detail a car. On top of that they really push to get more of your money. Right off the bat the guy tried charging me 60$ because my car wasn't clean.... I wasn't having it. I was getting my car detailed for a reason.. if they try to do this, just say you want a refund and they automatically take those extra fees away... Also, you'd think after almost 8 hours of service my car would come back nice and clean. Nope, I still have the same stains everywhere and it seemed like they rushed the car wash cause my rims were still dirty.... will not be coming back here I'm updating this part of the yelp review to let everyone know that I was threatened and called a liar by the owner of this business. I booked this company for detailing through a Groupon and because of this I wasn't honestly expecting much. I dropped my car off in the morning, as advised. They told me to be back by 4pm to pick up my truck. I got there at 4 and it wasn't even half way done yet. The man who was working outside was very nice and updated me as I was waiting. It's not after 6 and I finally get my car. As soon as I looked inside, everything looked AMAZING. They did a great job getting all the crumbs and stains out of dark leather. I have 2 kids who make a complete mess in my car. Everything looked great until I looked in the backseat. They tried to clean the leather on my backseat and it was stained a different color. I asked the guy who cleaned why it was a different color and he told me it was wet. I believed him and went home. The next day, after it had "dried", it was still stained. The back seats of my Jeep are now ruined. I would find another shop that knows how to clean leather seats. And another thing, the lady at the front desk was talking badly about another customer. 1st impression the staff at this location are very nice. They allowed me to use an expired voucher( 4 star detail $150 retail value) which was great. provide a detailed description of what services were going as the tech inspected the vehicle prior to leaving my vehicle. I was informed by the front desk that I will be contacted when the vehicle is done. Service began @10, I called around 1145 I was told the vehicle was ready. So, I arrived at the lot and it was packed. The tech met me at my vehicle and we did a walk through while I completed a service feedback form. I was impressed by their ability to lift a heavy stain on my seat, I began inquiring about other repair services which they provide free consults and affordable rates for service. But.... after the walk through was complete and I sat in my vehicle further examination I realized there was noticeable dirt on the headrest, seatbelt area, stick compartment, and cupholder area. I didn't mention it because I didnt want to nag about 3 small thing's but if I am paying $150 for this service the vehicle should be spotless, my car also had an odd aerosal odor from whatever car products they used. Highly recommended; I came all the way from Frederick to have work done and there's no other place I'd go. Rich spent a good portion of the day meticulously applying the ceramic coating and doing minor touch-ups; all I can say is WOW! The finish just pops with that wet glossy look! Honestly can say that the paint and clear coat looks better than the day I drove it off the Chevy dealer lot. Rich pointed out places and locations on the truck I wouldn't even have thought of addressing with the coating. As always, the attention to detail is top notch and this was a great investment to purchase for any new vehicle. I received a Christmas gift certificate for a full interior detail and exterior wash w/tire shine at Hallstar, what a gift. I finally redeemed it after making an appointment for a Saturday, drop off at 10am, approximately a month in advance. I thought this is a tint/film store so my expectations weren't high for this interior detail. Wow was I wrong. My 2011 Lexus interior had been neglected for a couple years and it showed all over. Carpet, seats, vents etc. all disgustingly soiled by my standards. When I picked my car up the interior was cleaned thoroughly. Stains and marks on seats and carpet I thought were permanent were gone. It was like a restoration to when the car was new. The car shined inside and out again. I owe a special thanks to the young brothers that did that work Jordan and Papa, it shows they payed attention to small details. Ask for them. I'm very pleased by the quality of work overall. The only quibble I had was that glass wasn't as clean as I would have liked. To be fair though, I had a pressing engagement and picked up my car before they were completely finished. I, like most of the reviewers, found a Groupon for Hallstar and was also recommended by a friend! (about $55 for sedans/cars and $65 for SUVs). ** The most important part of my review is in the second to last paragraph** I made an appointment 2.5 weeks in advance and was asked to bring the car in by 10 am. I have had my Honda Accord for 5 years and have never gotten it detailed. My car has trekked through dusty/dirty cities up and down the coast, has been to America's favorite east coast beaches, and most importantly...has kept 3 different dogs, a rabbit, and friends and family (who loves snacks that crumble; I'm guilty as well) safe during all of our trips. You can imagine how much pet hair and dusty collateral my car has collected over the past few years. Even with a nice vacuum I was never able to clean up my car as much as I would've liked. Richard on the other hand, an awesome employee at Hallstar (that I very much will recommend to everyone), made my car look amazing. Upon opening my door, I was in shock at how my cars carpet looked... I could probably only spot 20 pieces of pet hair compared to when I dropped it off at the shop with about a million. Richard was also honest with me and told me that Accord carpets are terrible when it comes to removing pet hair and that he tried to remove as much as he could. I was skeptical at first, after reading some of the reviews, but to each his own. I will definitely spread a good word about this business. The employees will walk over to your car with you and explain what they will do. It's at this moment they'll explain any extra charges and or extra services. In my case, I paid an extra $30 for pet hair removal (I believe the complete charge is $40 but they were able to knock off $10 because I have leather seats/interior). If you're unimpressed by some of the reviews regarding the time it takes for the employees to work, just call 2-3 hours in and ask for an update or better yet, ask them for an estimated time when you drop off your vehicle so you can plan accordingly. If you find yourself with nothing to do... grab an uber/lyft and go grab some food. If your car "smells" too strongly after its been washed with great care, just crack your windows open on your drive home! There's always a solution! The interior care detailing was good, but the technician, I think his name is Riley, explained to me that he wanted to clean it some more because not all of the stains would come out of the seats. He said he can only apply the additional cleaning treatment when the seats are dry and they were still wet when I came to pick the car up. I agreed to leave the car over night. Then he said he wanted to show me a protectant and walked towards the garage, I followed and he showed me scotch guard and offered me the sheet that you sign to release the car from the service. Here's where I made my mistake and I was still going to leave it overnight. I had not been given a receipt or any proof that Hallstar had my car. When I told my husband, he told me to go back and get the car immediately. When I went to get the car, the receptionist and the technician shared whispers and laughing. Another technician followed me out of the door asking if there is anything wrong. Nothing happened to me, the car is clean, but this was a perfect setup for me to return and find that my car wasn't there. This didn't seem to be a credible practice. My fiance bought me a Groupon to get a 4-star detail with interior shampooing. We are dog owners, but would say that we are a little bit more clean than your average dog owner. I am pretty good with keeping my sedan clean on a regular basis. That being said, I was super excited for a refresh with Hallstar and seeing what my car would look like when it came back. Deshawn was my technician and was very sweet. My car looked great both on the inside and outside. Everyone from Hallstar was very nice, the service was prompt (dropped at 10am, picked up by 4pm) and I had a great product. TIP: Why are people waiting around for your car to be detailed? This complaint against the company surprises me. You want them to take their time and do a great job- that doesn't happen in an hour. Plan to drop off your vehicle! What I appreciated most about Hallstar was their honesty, which can be really hard to come by. The service people were all friendly and honestly told us that my car didn't need the level of service we picked-- that it was in great condition with no stains or anything else which would require an interior shampoo. Honesty can't be bought and my fiance and I were both so impressed with the level of customer service here. For this reason, among others, we will definitely be bringing our cars back. read more

I purchased a groupon for a 4 star detail, wash, wax, interior shampoo, and it turned out amazing. I'm always a little weary of purchasing groupons for anything other than restaurants, but I highly recommend this one. I took my moms car in for the detail while she was out of the country, there were several coffee stains in her cloth passenger seat, and that was pretty much taken care of, I have no idea how old those marks were. The inside looks brand new, the back seat is in pristine condition, and it smells great. Only thing about this location is the location, it's sort of located at an intersection but not really, so if you're coming from basically anywhere, you need to make a U turn and they don't take appointments. So the tinting takes about an hour, and the detail is about 2 hours depending on the package you chose. And you'll most likely be dropping your car off for a while unless you're the first person at 10am. Tinting is expensive, but you get what you pay for, (I've paid $120 for the worst tint job from a different company and wanted to go back the next day and punch that guy in the face) and there are a lot of tinting percentages and material options, the gentlemen at the front desk demo'd the ceramic tint for me with an infrared light and it was pretty cool. Tinting is anywhere from $180-$280-$360 depending on materials. All come with a lifetime warranty. Overall I had a great experience using this company, highly recommend. read more

My only grievance is: although clean, it didn't smell yummy like my last experience. The smell wasn't unpleasant, it was just not the same as before. Although I do like the service here, I'm not a fan of the owner's personal behavior, so one star was removed. Luckily he doesn't clean cars, so I had no interaction with him. She went to have the car detailed, only to be told that 'they no longer take Groupon'. WHAT?? Not our fault! If this company advertised on Groupon and offered a deal there, then Hallstar should honor the coupon. I then called and a manager said that they would not take Groupon because they were too busy and had no time to be able to accept Groupon. I told him that Hallstar should have pulled the Groupon ad before there was an issue regarding time to accommodate customers. This is an extremely poor and questionable business tactic. I am a small business owner myself and work with my customers to ensure that my business is fair and meets their needs. I also KEEP MY PROMISES, a business practice foreign to Hallstar apparently.
