DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE This review is for the new Santa Clarita location but applies to both locations as I have visited both, but the Santa Clarita location is especially bad. First off, if I could give this place zero stars I would. I'm a big collector of Marvel, DC, and Star Wars figures, I have hundreds of figured and I (and most collectors) know the value and prices of these items. This place charges WAY too much for figures. A cyclops marvel legends you can buy down the street at target for 20 dollars is being sold for 32 dollars at this place. And that trend follows every single item in the store. Additionally, a ton of the merchandise is DIRTY AND DUSTY!!!! They don't even bother selling clean products! My last warning and I think one of the worst things this place does is that it sells FAKE ITEMS. In the Santa Clarita location, there are glass cabinets in the back that hold Lego Minifigures. VERY FEW OF THESE ARE REAL OFFICIAL MINIFIGURES. Also, the prices is not listed anywhere for these which is super shady. The clone trooper figures especially are really bad. They're so obviously fake it's embarrassing to look at, the prints off the mark, are obviously not official figures, and are things Lego has never made themselves. I will include pictures. FO NOT AND I REPEAT DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE YOU ARE GETTING SCAMMED! This place overcharges by a ton for merchandise, has rude staff, sells dusty products, and is selling fake products. If you want a good collectible store in Santa Clarita take your money to Pop Cave or Kimzar Collectibles. These places are legit, have friendly and helpful staff, and sell real merchandise!

Excellent Anime, Star Wars, Marvel, Etc., Center For Items SITREP My buddy Deus clued me onto this store - Halo 13 Anime & Video - because of the exceptional collection of SciFi, Anime and Fantasy figures for the connoisseur. ;) https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/halo-13-anime-and-video-burbank?select=AF2pFF3YMZmzxrrDUxz07A THE SETUP My main mission was to see if there were still any BB-8 figures left, of any dimension, and Deus told me that our best bet would be to check out the Burbank Galleria, and so off we headed, and upon initial sighting of the store it seemed promising with such a distinguished featuring of Star Wars sensibilities. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/halo-13-anime-and-video-burbank?select=RAjLmza64PxgWiVrdPxFLQ But Alas!, that proved to be as hard as lookin for water in the desert. It must be said however that the staff were quite helpful in providing information as to the whereabouts of how one may secure a BB-8 figure. SCI-FI FUN! Nonetheless, the items available here were indeed impressive! *From large size figures in the Star Wars Universe... https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/halo-13-anime-and-video-burbank?select=qTRAIGDzd5jMKjN3Rb7I5g *To figurines from the Marvel World of Action, "Helloooo, Loki!" https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/halo-13-anime-and-video-burbank?select=FS0g5XOHCpQS1pCbSDS-dg There is a lot to investigate and have fun with. THE LOWDOWN A great store to begin a search for that collectible you are looking for. :D

This place sells bootlegged products. They have anime statues and nendoroids for sale straight from China, without even removing the China sticker on the back of the box. Then they have the audacity to price some of them at $39.99. The price of an AUTHENTIC nendoroid is typically around $50. I have zero tolerance for companies that sell fake products. The best part is this Eren nendoroid. This is by the far one of the worst counterfeit figures I've seen. I'm from out of state and was stoked to check out a new anime store, but I'll stick to Anime Jungle, since they don't rip people off with fake goods.

first off i'm going to say the staff is rude asf chile they didn't even greet me when i was the only one in the store kinda messy but didn't really mind but the fake nendroids please mikasa and eren look fucked up and the fact there almost the same price as a real one and the employee had the audacity to say theyre authentic

Of course the best time to go to make sure they have it in stock are Wednesdays. VIntage comics can be found in bins, the wall, or the front case near the register. CGC slabs are also on hand. Prices are usually on par with the market. Just ask Paul and the rest of the crew for anything you need, they're pretty knowledgeable and willing to help. Comic supplies are also available for those in need. Parking is limited to street parking and the surrounding residential area, but it's never too far a walk. Highly recommended comic shop in the Burbank area.

Even though I am not the one to call on when wanting to have your likeness sketched; I do appreciate the art of drawing and am drawn (pun intended) to individuals who are illustrators/artists/etc. These people, although NOT comic book nerds (I draw the line at that -another pun!) can delineate quality comic books, graphic novels and art books. My boyfriend, who is an esteemed Hollywood 3D animation artist with a long list of credits to his name (so proud of him!); is an artist inside and out and we recently followed our curiosity into House of Secrets: comic book/graphic novel/collectibles shop in Burbank. House of Secrets is a 35+ year old local business originally holding down the fort in La Canada-Flintridge before its current real estate at the corner of Olive and Lamer not far from the Warner Bros Studio lot. From the exterior, House of Secrets looks like a regular ole' storefront but it lives up to its moniker because its doors truly open to an immersive art-filled comic book store that is unlike many I have seen (not that I have been to THAT many). House of Secrets has the vibes akin to the coolest record store you can imagine with a main room filled with bins and shelves of comic books, graphic novels and other art books from rare and back copies to modern-day releases all beautifully organized and tidy making any OCD-afflicted individual (me) overjoyed. House of Secrets is a world of color and print and even supplements the actual merchandise stock with posters on the ceiling and laminated into the floor tiles. Every inch of House of Secrets is a work of art. But if that isn't enough, House of Secrets features side rooms giving it an art gallery vibe with even more comics/books plus art from local artists for sale. Frankly, House of Secrets is 'cool' even for someone like me who isn't a comic book nerd and not a part of the world of graphic novels due to it being an art paradise. House of Secrets is an experience that is interesting to check out simply for the ambiance. The customer service at House of Secrets is also top-tier as my boyfriend who knows a little more about the merch sold at the shop than I do; asked for a particular piece and the gentleman working (I am assuming one of the owners) immediately had answers and knew what he was talking about which was also reflected when overhearing him answer other customer's questions. Plus, he wasn't annoyed that we were hanging in the store near closing time! I've noticed that I often feel very uncomfortable in specialty niche stores especially if out of my hobby element but somehow felt fine at House of Secrets. They are welcoming and friendly to all who enter their threshold. I can't comment on the pricing at House of Secrets and whether they overcharge or excel in this aspect as well because I do not know enough about the products to even remotely know proper pricing. Word on the streets is that House of Secrets also holds events and author signings! House of Secrets is an incredible local Burbank business that is exceptional for comic book lovers but also 'fun' for those who may be lesser so; but appreciate art and print. Definitely check out House of Secrets when in the Burbank area!

The staff is beyond friendly and, even though this location is small, it has a fantastic array of comics and other collectables. Even with my pull list at their other location, I always find something I have to pick up on my quick visit. They also have fantastic signings here throughout the year so there's a good chance that you can meet either one of your favorite writers or be introduced to your next obsession. My only complaint isn't even their fault & it's the parking. Like most of this area of NoHo, it's all limited street parking with meters or you're going to have to cross your fingers that you can find something in the residential streets in the area. But honestly, it's worth it. If you live in the area and are looking for your new favorite neighborhood shop, this is it.

This is difficult for me. I have been a customer for the past 3 years. Since I moved to LA…read more Everyone I've met there that works there is the best. From Jun to their former manager Zachary to every single employee there. They were so nice to my wife when she was picking up my comic books while I had severely broken my finger. So, the issue. I'll start with the 30 year anniversary contest or whatever that was, of which I won. I was the "Most Valuable Customer", meaning I spent the most in a month long period basically. I won 30% off of any 1 item in the store for a year each month. I used that discount on more expensive items. I even talked to some of the staff about being excited to afford some of the more exciting items. Remember, this is 12 things in a calendar year. I used the discount on Omnibuses, Statues, that sort. One of the more exciting things I used the discount on was the first appearance of Big Barda. The owner's manager at the time reached out to ownership to confirm that he could sell me this comic book which is in a glass case behind lock and key. The owner confirmed that it was 30% off of everything that was in the store. In the store being the conceit. I actually used their website to order a $100 Batman hush figurine. I was told later that we won't be able to honor the 30% off on items ordered to the store. Which I agreed, made total sense. I then used the discount on a graded, signed Jim Lee Hush 2 comic. Shortly thereafter, I was told that the discount did not apply to items in the glass case. Understood, maybe there was some miscommunication. So I turned back to statues, artwork, and cool older comics up toward their like backlog section of the store. I used the discount on the Wolverine 1-5 collection they were selling. This was the original Wolverine comic book. I even bought one of their orange display cases, knowing it would look really awesome there. After this, I tried to purchase another book from that section but I was told that those were no longer a part of the 30% off. Now it was books and weeklies. Okay, so at this point it was near the end of the yearlong 30% off and like whatever. Owner is being weird for some reason, I'll just back off. It's no big deal. More recently, the store has been having a lot of turnover. Which sucks for them, but also isn't that somewhat on the person who hired this new manager. While they were there I had used the website--mind you -- like I had for the past 2 years+ since their new system had been created. During this time numerous comic books that I had ordered on the website just weren't in my pull list come wednesday, which was mostly around when I broke my finger in January It happened again. And again. And again. I was getting every single book I had ordered on the website in the past. The books I ordered, if I didn't receive them on the week I ordered them, they often times would never come. Early on in the process, their former manager showed me how to order on the website. Make sure orders were in on Friday to get them on Wednesday, this became difficult when I broke my finger, but I did my best. Now a few weeks ago, the owner was there and I politely asked when the books I ordered a month+ ago might be coming in. He then blamed me "You're always the last one to make an order, so if its a variant it's not gonna be easy." Okay. Fair enough. He then said he'd ordered them, they never showed up and the new manager he hired was kind enough to track them down and get me a copy. He fired that guy. For the 2nd time in a month he complained to me that I don't get my orders in on time. Even though I'd become more strict about Friday orders. He said I needed to use their Pre-order tab to ensure that I get a copy because "if 4 people order a specific book and I only have 3 then you won't get one" I have 2 kids and it's really hard to be checking the website all the time. Doing it on Fridays had always worked with my schedule So their website is not a preorder website, it sounds like your reserving books. Which if that's the case, then just change the verbiage on your website. I don't think that's the issue. The owner is either a rude, weird guy or he lies. He put me through the runaround during the 30% off thing and then he gaslit me into thinking Id done something wrong in their system. Which if it was the case, why not just tell me from the beginning. Why keep telling me the books were coming when they never were. It seems like the owner is incapable of taking any responsibility and just wants to pass blame onto whomever will take it from him. I recommend going to this store when he is not there. Because everyone is awesome and he needs to take a long look in the mirror because he is so clearly to blame for their recent troubles. I will not be returning to Collectors Paradise NoHo. I'll miss you guys, but I don't deserve to be treated like an idiot.

They always have a lot of product for Pokémon from ETBs to regular packs, they even have a good selection of single cards. Today I decided to buy 2 singles from the set Paldea Evolved, the prices for the singles were really good (slightly under market prices). The only problem is how firm they are on prices and how expensive the sealed product is. I also bought 2 chaos rising ETBs that are worth $87 USD at the time of this review and purchase but they were at $95 so I asked if they could move the price to $90 since a bought 2, which is very fair. The man who was helping me out told me they were firm and wasn't very helpful. I feel like he could at least try to call the owner or manager to ask about changing the price. I saw a review that said they were able to call the owner and help with the price. A little bit disappointed because I'm a regular at Legacy. Additionally I feel like they should have more slabs (graded cards) because they only had 3 low level Japanese slabs. Something that does really help with the price is the point system that is really good and I think I must have already saved $50 to $100 thanks to it. I would recommend that the owner would give the employees a certain amount of discounts percentage they can offer or tell the employees to let him know if someone offers a lower price. Overall this card store is really good and I would put 4.5 stars if I could. Just keep in mind my recommendations. -Approved by James R.

Also, please refer to market on tcg player or any other store around for market pricing. Also I went to a store 1.5 miles from you guys and was able to get mega dreams for $85. I would strongly suggest you review you pricing and consistency. Thank you I bought Pokémon cards and comic books. On my first visit, the staff were friendly and helpful. One of the workers even called the owner to work with me on pricing and was able to bring it down to fair market value at the max price while still honoring the store's point system. Even though prices were generally higher than other local shops, the experience felt fair, and I spent over $1000. I came back the next day excited to buy more. The owner did not raise prices, but he refused to give me the same pricing he approved the day before and removed the point rewards that were previously honored, with no clear explanation. I was not asking for a deal, a discount, or special treatment. I am not a scalper. I openly collect and open cards. I was simply asking for fair market pricing, even at the max market value. They told me they price at market value and showed me a specific site. That same site showed lower prices, yet I was told those higher prices are just their prices, despite knowing other stores nearby sell the same products at normal market value. I still spent close to $700 on the second day, but when the cashier asked if I wanted a receipt, it honestly hurt to say no because I knew I would not be coming back. I did make sure to tell the cashier this was not on him. He was genuinely kind and helpful, and I thanked him. Summary of issues: 1. Prices consistently above online and local market. 2. Inconsistent pricing and point system from one day to the next. 3. Point rewards removed without explanation. 4. Claiming market pricing while refusing to honor it. I truly thought I found a great shop during my travels, but after this experience, I will not be returning.
