I have hired 3 different companies to come fix my MACs. All of them were MAC "experts" but my issues were related to my Microsoft Office applications. One event spent 2 days working on my laptop and instead of addressing my problems, he tried to convince me not to use the applications I needed and let me know all he did was spend time making sure the applications he recommended were working. Halo Computers has been a life saver when it comes to repairs. I had a major virus on my computer and I couldn't work on it for the sake of getting my personal information being compromised. So I called them and a gentleman named Austin answered, his customer service was on point and completely understood my issue. He said come by and drop it off, so I did and he made me aware about pricing immediately ($120 flat rate and extra for parts) which I was very satisfied with. He said a technician named Gabriel would be working on it the same day to get the virus taken care of. I don't know how he did it but my computer was fixed completely. I was also unaware that I actually had a lot of malware which was slowing my computer down tremendously before the virus (I did not address slowness of the computer with him because I wasn't sure what the pricing was going to be), so I definitely got my bargain for $120. My computer crashed on Sunday morning. I run several small businesses out of my home, and I cannot function without my system! We called Sean on Sunday, expecting maybe a call back Monday. But he responded on Sunday, came and picked up my computer, returned it repaired on Monday! I called the Geek Squad, too, on Sunday. They said they could come out on Tuesday at 1:00 but would be charging me over $200 just to walk in the door. Ok so on cinco de mayo the worst thing that could of happened to my business did, my computer would not turn on. We use it for everything. Our business literally depends on it. I decided i would give geek squad another try, even though ive had bad experiences every time i go, but i just didnt know where to turn to. I ended up waiting in line at best buy for geek squad, for 15mins. I decided im gunna look up for pc repairs on yelp & halo repair came up. Fantastic service! I needed a new SSD installed on my laptop, but my laptop is attached to me at the hip so I had trouble finding time to give it up to Gabe and his team. Amazing how many "IT Services" companies are listed in Yelp with "5 Star" reviews. Yet, look how very many of them listed are based on just 1 or 2, maybe 3 or 4 TOTAL reviews. Huh? Do you think maybe those 1-2 "5 Star" reviewers are also the OWNERS of the biz or their best friends, or their family? You DO know that is quite often done on Yelp by small business owners, right? Halo Computers has more "40" very favorable reviews and I am among them, giving Halo FIVE BIG STARS! I hired them six weeks ago on a monthly flat fee basis to take care of our seemingly constant hardware and software issues at my company, OHS Health & Safety Services, Inc. in Costa Mesa. I could not be more pleased! They not only took care of the five "biggie" issues we were experiencing, they've jumped in and tuned up and corrected a dozen other smaller issues affecting performance that my operations staff and I didn't even realize we had. While studying for a huge exam I spilled a little coffee on my Mac Book. The computer was turning on but my keyboard and mouse were not working/responding. I searched yelp for a computer repair center near my house. I personally took my virus infected computer directly over to the purported business location on El Camino. I was a bit leary due to the lack of reviews and lack of recent reviews. It turned out to be a dingy retail building with a hard to find suite that had a sign on the door "appointment only". So I called the number in yelp. No answer left a message. I was called back 30 mins later, caller failed to leave a message. I call again, connect with a gentleman named Gabriel. He seemed very polite and offered to come over and pick up my computer from my home. He even offered a courtesy call beforehand. Gabriel never called and he never came by my place to pick up my computer. Never heard from him again. That's my experience. I'm going elsewhere. read more

Can't thank Gabriel enough for fixing my laptop. Had a bad virus (which locked up my computer), and he picked it up and had it back to me the next day. Gave me the Yelp discount too! Before calling Halo, I called some of the big box stores and they were super costly and they wanted to sell me a new $$$ anti-virus and they said I probably would lose my data. Also, they said it would take a week or more to fix. Gabriel is a really nice guy and very honest. My computer actually runs better than when it was brand new. His prices were very reasonable. They told me my computer would be returned in 24 hours or two days at the most. They came to pick up my computer at my home, and left me with no paperwork or contract, which led me to think my computer may have been stolen by the time they were not returning calls after days had past. They had all manner of excuses for the delays including telling me that backing up my data on the external hard drive was taking them 28 hours alone. After returning the computer and the external storage drive, it turned out that the entire external drive was empty(!) and all my data was lost since they had done a completely clean reinstall. Adrian was the one supposedly working on my computer but, over all, the whole experience was a disaster. When I got my equipment back a week later -- all was lost. No refund or compensation was offered. Heaven only knows to where they saved all my personal data. It's terrifying, really. I do not recommend OC Computer Repair at all. read more

I dropped my computer off here over a month ago and I've been calling three times a week to get it back. No one would answer my calls and I left numerous messages to no avail. After hearing my description, he told me he could fix the problem and asked me to bring the computer by. He told me it would take around one hour and the rate would be $80. I went to their office and Gabriel received me. He gave me a receipt and told me he would call me when the job is done. Sure enough, I got his call a little over an hour later. I went back and there my computer was, working nicely again. Even though I think he spent more than an hour, he still charged me just one hour as quoted. They have a 30-day guarantee too.
