I needed to replace my HP Pavilion laptop battery, it was holding charge for only 30 minutes when unplugged. I found RunnerBoys on Yelp, and contacted them via phone/text. I got a reasonable preliminary quote. I wanted to see if it was possible to install a larger capacity battery, and so I decided to stop by later in the day for diagnostics. Eldad diagnosed my laptop and ordered the battery of the right size. He installed it a few days later, once it arrived. This place is pretty good, I brought a Dell Laptop (a few months ago) and they had no trouble fixing it. I found out it was just dirty and the laptop was old, but they repaired it and replaced one of the fans. They didn't charge much, I thought they did a good job because normally I just open it up and fix it myself. They were kind, most of the time when I bring an old laptop to a store people just try selling me a new one. I probably could have done it cheaper, but they did it the right way and I didn't have to deal with opening it and screwing it up myself. These people are professionals, and very nice. read more

The one star reviews regarding this place seem all to be true to me right now. I have failed to contact them through store phone, owner's personal phone, messages, and email. I see that Eldad replies to all the bad reviews here, so I guess this is a last ditch effort to reach them. I had given them my computer around the middle to end of June, and was told it would be fixed in 5 business days. Fast forward half a month, I have to leave the country and there is no sign of my computer being fixed. After negotiation they extended the warranty of the fix to a month after I came back to the US. It has now been almost two months since I've came back to the US, and the computer is still in the shop, the store completely unreachable through phone and messages. I am out of the state and cannot go in person, and they've completely ignored most things I've been messaging, texting, etc. I have throughout this entire interaction given them my utmost respect and patience, and while I understand and agree that Eldad and other store workers had amazing attitudes when I was able to reach them, things are simply not being solved and communications are extremely one sided from me. It is also worth mentioning that during the time I was in the state I had picked up and dropped off the PC 3 times because the first two times it was sent back no issues were solved. I've told them over and over it was an issue with the display port yet everytime it was sent back and I had to bring it back to the store they told me they did not test with the display port. There was not a single time I received an update over any form of communication anytime I was promised one. Extremely disappointed, I will change this review if things start picking up and going in the positive direction. As for now it does not look like anything will change and I will just go pick up the broken PC and give it to some other location once I am home. Update: I have reached the store and had multiple calls with Francisco, whose attitude became immediately worse and unresponsive the moment he heard I was justifiably angry. Eldad remains completely unreachable during this entire event. Francisco told me the pc is ready to pick up, I had my parents go and the computer was completely dissembled "ready for pick up" or "wait for tomorrow and we will put this back together". I have attached further photo evidence, this place is the biggest scam in the entirety of irvine. They will charge you money for horrible customer service and incomplete work. If you do decide to come here make paper form contracts of all timing and details so you can sue them to the small claims court. Trust the one star ratings, they speak truth. read more

Thinking back to the time maybe a year ago when my laptop fell and broke. The young guy working (not the owner) said it would be a few hundred dollars to put in a new screen or just $75 to disable the touchscreen. I called a knowledgeable friend to ask which I should do. Have been my go-to place for computer repairs. They swapped out the hard drive on my desktop. So now I don't have to worry about it crashing. They have also fixed my software issues where I lost the sound on my desktop. They've also replaced an internal battery on my laptop, the one that powers the internal clock. I went to them for a hardrive recovery. Three months later, I had my data after being left in the dark for weeks on end. Eldad does not return emails or phone calls, although he will swear up and down that he calls me back. Strangely he never left a voice mail, text, or return email in his efforts to get back to me. I brought my Asus laptop into the store because one day the screen completely died on me despite the power still on. Eldad told me that the repairs should be roughly done in a week or two but the entire process ended up taking almost 3 months since the motherboard kept failing. Personally, i didn't mind the repairs taking longer than usual. However, I do expect updates on how the repair process was going, which was terribly hard to get. I would call eldad to get an update and he said he would call me in 30 minutes and never call me. He also never left a message or called me to inform me that repairs were finished at the end of three months. Reached out to several places for repair of my kids' PlayStation HDMI port. They offered me the best price and said they could likely get it back to me same day. Brought it in immediately. He said if they didn't have the part, he'd have it ordered and back to me in 2-3 business days. I didn't hear back the first day, so assumed I'd wait. Checked back by stopping into the store because they didn't call me. He said he replaced the port but would need the rest of the parts to test the repair. Brought in the rest of the parts; now he had my complete system. Didn't hear back and kept messaging on Yelp, where I had initially reached out. They read my messages but didn't respond time and time again. Two months passed without a response. I called in and they pretended that they had tried to reach me. Confirmed my number. I KNOW they never called because I work on my phone and always have it on me, so they lied. Then he had the audacity to tell me that the repair would cost more because there was damage on the board. How did the board get damaged? Even after months of no communication, he wanted to take me for an additional $40. Really? All that for $40. He should have offered to provide it for free. That was it. Never heard back. Liars and thieves. UPDATE: After reading the owner's response below, I felt it necessary to clarify a few things. 1) No one is questioning whether you are trying hard to run a business. The reality is you screwed up in this case, which is clear, and you have failed to accept or admit it. I understand that you are pissed. You reference me using "bad words?" Well, that's because I'm pissed too! 2) I didn't come up with the price. You did. Had you communicated sooner, I wouldn't complain about the additional $40. It's the principle of it all. 2) The owner never called me. Not even once. This is clear from my first review. 3) Not only did the owner not call, he/they received numerous messages from me via Yelp (see pictures), read them, and never responded. 4) Let's be clear with regard to the definition of blackmail. When someone is in possession of your (CHILDREN's) property, and fails to respond, that is considered theft. Therefore, threatening (not blackmailing) to bring in the police to assist is regaining possession of said property is a justifiable threat in every way, but blackmail.
