    2024 Vermentino

Sitting at the start of Temecula wineries next to Calloway, Halter Ranch Temecula is an extension of the main Paso Robles location. Loved the 2024 Vermentino and Rose. Lots of inside and outside sitting areas with beautiful views to enjoy to sit and slowly do your wine. Knowledgeable staff makes the experience even better.

Another fantastic experience at Halter Ranch Winery! The service was truly exceptional, the team is incredibly attentive, welcoming, and knowledgeable. It's no wonder my friend is a member! This winery consistently delivers some of the most delicious red wines in the valley. The staff took the time to walk us through each wine, share the story behind the winery, and ensure we were comfortable and having a great time. I really appreciated the perfect pacing of our tasting, which included six deliciously crafted reds. Among the standouts were the Silver Label selections: - 2022 Cazas Vineyard Zinfandel - 2022 Volcanic Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon - 2021 Ancestor The Ancestor is bold and smooth, with blackberry, blueberry, and chocolate. A must-try, I mean buy! I purchased a bottle to enjoy. The wines were excellent, the views stunning, and the overall vibe was relaxed but elevated. They offer plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor space is stylish and cozy with very comfortable seating. They also sell assorted snacks and charcuterie, perfect for pairing. And a bonus, they're dog-friendly, and have three adorable cats that live on the property! Can't wait to go back!

The wines are excellent! We immediately joined the Wine Club. Our server, Gabe, was outstanding! The property is very scenic and peaceful. Definitely worth checking out the next time you're in Temecula.

"So we gave up. I'd finally had enough of chasing after a ghost who did not want to be discovered. We'd failed, maybe, but some mysteries aren't meant to be solved." -- Miles Halter, "Looking for Alaska". I'd been chasing a ghost known as a Temecula winery with good wine and comparable pricing. Halter Ranch of course started out in Paso and took over Hart Winery. We visited based on other yelpers raves like Dan H. Did we find the ghost? Partly I guess...wine was solid but pricing still bonkers based on the quality. These are $20-$30 quaffers, not wines with quality at $50 - $120 levels. Temecula pricing is still laughable. But the views are lovely, the service was friendly and quick, the lobster Mac and cheese from the food truck was excellent. We'd go back to taste outside on a lovely day but will never be a retail customer. Recommended for tasting

We love Halter Ranch wine & are happy they are in Temecula so we don't have to drive all the way to Paso. 5 stars for true certified organic wine. We had great friendly service from Brandon. Attentive to provide the tastings out on the patio in a timely manner but you can linger as long as you want. We also ordered a couple glasses of wine. No restaurant at this one but they do have a mobile made to order gourmet pizza company there during lunch hour & that was fantastic. Our friends are wine club members & we really enjoy their monthly free tastings.

Cute and quaint, small and intimate. Much appreciated over the larger more commercial wineries in this area. Several seating areas, the only draw back is air conditioned seating is limited. Inside the barn is cool and shaded, so if it's a 90 degree day or less you'll be comfortable. Large selections of wines, noticed many are sourced from the Paso Robles area (which we also enjoy). The staff is very friendly and accommodating. A food truck was also on site this particular Saturday (though we didn't try anything). Great views of the valley all around as their location sits elevated above the vineyards.

Fantastic wines at an intimate setting, the Viognier is was my favorite. It was crisp and bright, perfect on a warm summer day. The service is so friendly and knowledgeable. We stopped here as our last stop leaving wine country, and I'm sure glad we did. This will be a regular go-to when in town.

Love Halter Ranch. We frequented the Paso location when living up there and were so happy about the Temecula location. This location has amazing views, and can get busy but still feels quant and relaxing. Every time we go wine tasting, we find ourselves back here (not just because we're wine club members!) Heber is the best. He always makes our experience better than the last and always puts a big smile on our toddlers face. So far, no other winery in the area compares.

Enjoying a glass of wine with all our kids.

Super cute winery! I love their open seating and the view. We absolutely love the fact that it is kid and dog friendly!

One of my all time favorite wineries in both Paso and Temecula!! I have loved their wine since I did their Defendor Tour up in Paso several years back. My favorite wine they have is their Tannat. I just wish it was available by the glass, but alas. On a hot day their off-dry Viognier is perfect to sip on and enjoy the views of the vineyards! It's also my favorite spot to relax with a good book! Staff was warm and welcoming as always! My go to whenever I'm in Temecula! Highly recommend!

New to Temecula (old Hart Winery) the Paso Robles based Winery is here! Fun place with new and old wines. Great reds here to enjoy. They've improved the patio area with more nice tables and the Southside with some tables. Looking forward to the growth and the enlarged tasting room area. We joined the wine club and committed to a year. Cheers!

Previously Hart Winery, now owned by the Paso Robles Halter Ranch Winery. There hasn't been much change to the property, not yet anyway. Right now, it's a very small tasting counter inside their barrel room, and some picnic tables and seating around the perimeter. Nice views, rustic and simple. They have moved all bottling equipment to their Paso Robles location, which will free up space for changes to be made. Changes include expanding the tasting room. They are pouring both Hart and Halter Ranch wines, which offers a good range of some very good reds. Club membership includes your monthly glasses of wine that can be used at their wineries in Paso (2) and the one that will open at the end of 2023 in Fredericksburg, Texas. Currently they have a vendor who keeps a pizza oven on site, the only food offering on the weekends. They are dog friendly. But keep in mind there are three very lovable winery cats on the property (one had a very close call with a coyote the other day!). It's still a transition from old owners to new owners. The servers seem to be handling things, though I think maybe communication with Paso may sometimes gets mixed up. The phone number is an 805 area code for the Paso location. I couldn't get through to the Temecula location when trying to reach them. They really should change that. We are giving them a try and signed up as wine club members. I can't wait to see what they do with the winery!

View of Temecula "French Valley" wine country! Cheers!

We've been members of the Paso Robles location for years. This Temecula location is just as fun. All the best Paso Robles releases are available, and there are some yummy Temecula blends that we now love too. Brandon did our tasting pours, he was such a great host!

If you're looking for a hidden gem, this is it! It's all in the details; the cobblestone exterior, the paved paths, the scenic view, how the sun peaks through the trees, just wow! They had multiple options of wine tasting; you can pick from a mixed white and red wine tasting, or a full red, or white tasting. You can also order a bottle or glass by itself if you don't want the full tasting. As a gal who doesn't dabble in the fine art of tasting wine or drinking alcohol, they also had a couple delicious sparkling fruit drink options for me and a couple of other gals in my party, which was sweet, and delicious. The gals said they absolutely loved the Riesling white wine and it was perfectly sweet. I was able to book the whole experience and the table seating online on their website, and the whole process was easy. They email you a confirmation right away and all we did was show up. Upon checking in, we just informed one of the team members we have arrived and they let us pick our table outside. The reservation did note there would be a tour of some sort first, but that wasn't offered upon our arrival but that's okay! It is a bit hard to get ahold of someone on the phone, but I had a great experience speaking to their AI on the telephone and didn't notice until a minute into the phone call that they are AI. Talk about technology over here, woo! The AI was able to answer all my questions around where to park, are there signs directing us to the winery, if our party can have both wine-drinkers and non-drinkers, they answered it all and was spot on. Their winery also offers a fun shopping experience inside and put out these cottage-core long dresses and lacey tops you can try on and purchase. It looked like it was personally curated and it definitely had my gals and I hooked from the start. The only thing is that there is only 1 changing room, that is also the bathroom, so the line was always long and you would feel bad for taking too much time in there if you want to try things on. The team here made sure we were comfortable and even helped us take photos, and treated us very well for our first visit. All of us had a great time and left with a bottles of wine to take home!

The must try dishes for me were the Salmon&Ahi Crudo, as well as the ceviche. Both plates were quite refreshing, but watch out for the spiciness! We got 2 entrees, the Linguini De Mariscos and and the Pot Pie Espanol. Both dishes were quite rich. The linguini dish had lobster, scallops, and shrimp. The pot pie dish had filet mignon, lobster, and bone marrow. The flaky crust was definitely memorable. As for service, Phillip was great. He had recommended a rosé to go along with my dish. I was looking for a sweet wine, but they were out that day. Once we received our check, we had a bit of a wait since a large party needed their order taken. Other than that, the service was great, out water was constantly getting filled by the attentive staff.
