Went to the Temecula location to pick up my wine club shipment. We spend a lovely Sunday afternoon on the terrace with Heber pouring tastings for us. Wow, such good wines! The vibe is much more understated than at the main winery in Paso Robles area. There was a pizza tent with Bobcat Pizza who sold out in about 3 hours after firing up the oven. Did not get a pizza today but they were a good size 9 or 10 inches across and all the others having the pizza seemed satisfied with the food. There is also a refrigerator with charcuterie items and non alcoholic drinks and a small gift shop with Halter Ranch items. Two bathrooms as well as another terrace and indoor seating area. There is plenty of free parking. This location also has 2 red wines made from grapes grown in Temecula area. We exchanged one of our club selections for a bottle. The pourer small were helpful and friendly. We overall had a great time and look forward to future visits. read more

We joined the Halter Ranch in Paso Robles. We loved the wines at the time and the idea of them having a tasing room in Temecula was intriguing since we live in Huntington Beach. We took a trip to Temecula only to find the tiniest of tasting rooms with less than helpful and knowledgeable pourers. The place is extremely underwhelming and you can't really get help when you sit for possible pourings. We will not be back. And if our shipment doesn't suit our tastes we will drop our membership. read more

We stopped by to pick up my friends Paso member shipment for the season. The employees/service here are/is really incredible. I love the story of Halter Ranch and the founder and hope it stays as quaint as is has always been. The views are amazing and always our first stop once we hit the valley. The ambiance is perfect and love that we can visit during the week. they have to-go charcuterie offerings which was perfect o start our day. it was slightly warm in the cozy chairs overlooking the vineyards, maybe some shade could be added because the chairs are perfect to sit with your tasting, your dog, and your snacks :). I took home the Viognier 2021. I love that they use organic grapes and still sell some of their Paso wines in Temecula. It's a win-win for visitors and local wineries, we wouldn't't have gone if we weren't able to pick up the Paso wine, so we were able to support the local wineries as well. So nice that it's an 1-1/2 hr drive for a lovely day trip versus planning a long drive and dog-friendly Airbnb/VRBO. read more

My husband and I have been members of Halter Ranch in Paso for about 10 years. We have visited Halter Ranch Temecula twice since they opened. Both times we have had the pleasure of being served by Michael in the tasting room. He is not only knowledgeable about their wines, he is also fun to chat with. Enjoyed eating pizza on the patio on both visits to HR Temecula. Neapolitan pizza made with sour dough and cooked in a pizza oven to order! Delizioso!! Love this winery! The wine is one of the best in the valley. We love visiting the Paso Robles winery and the Temecula tasting room. Paso Robles is the mother ship of wineries. The service was great. They weren't pushy. We got a Silver Ranch Tasting.... Wow! Some of the best red wines in Temecula! The wines are made in Paso Robles! Can't wait to visit the actual winery. The rain kept most of us in the tasting room and indoor seating. The outdoor patio area was quaint but a bit muddy. But the wines were amazing! We are very disappointed with the actions of Halter Ranch management. We joined in summer 2023 largely due to the fact they were open until 6pm. We live almost an hour away and made a special trip to get two of our six included tastings before they expired at the end of the month. We arrived at 4:15 and were told tastings now end at 4pm. They even stated that they knew the email hadn't gone out yet to inform members but they still would not allow us to use the tastings we prepaid for with our membership. They said we could buy a glass instead. That is proof they are dishonoring their membership agreement and simply trying make more money. If they have time for us to drink a glass they have time to poor a few tastings. If it's truly a time thing they could simply offer a glass of wine in lieu of the tasting. What they should do is grandfather current members and make any new changes for new members. At the very minimum they should honor their membership until they have informed all current members. The membership is very limited with only six per month and being so far away we don't even use all the tasting we pay for. The membership also requires a full 12 month commitment which it about four times longer than most in the Temecula. We are only a few months into our membership and will try to cancel early before our next shipment. This winery will no longer work for us as we can not make it in time to taste within their restrictive hours. Even if we could get there before 4pm we will not enjoy the experience knowing they did us wrong. There are two servers who are very good and personable but the others are quite full of themselves. The wines are of decent quality for the area and are supposedly organic but they are much more expensive than other wineries in the valley. The ambiance is the next best thing after the two aforementioned servers. The reason two stars instead of one. There are at least 50 wineries in the valley, so we suggest you try the rest before visiting Halter. If they correct the error of their ways we will update. Update 02/14/24: We were able to cancel the membership early online. read more

We love Halter Ranch in Paso, not so much this one. They are trying to sell out of the old Hart Winery wines. They said it was going to take about three years to deplete that inventory. The place is small. My master bedroom is bigger. No restrooms, only a Port a Potty. There is a black cat that roams the premises and inside the tasting room. At one point it hopped on the counter with all the open wine bottles. The company selling pizzas we're authentically made out of a pizza oven, but a bit pricey for a personalized pizza...$20. The workers were friendly and knowledgeable of their products. I did purchase two bottles of Halter Ranch wines. read more

...Although I am aware this location was only recently acquired by Halter Ranch in Paso Robles, my review is specifically about our experience in the tasting room. We like Halter's wines (and the previous Hart wines as well). Customer service was definitely lacking. There were at least 3 employees here while we were there. A decent size group left just as we arrived, and there were a few locals there as well. After the large group left, another couple locals arrived, at which point 2 of the 3 employees were chatting with the locals (which I don't necessarily have an issue with...) and the lady who was helping us joined in as well... (Again, I don't necessarily have an issue with that. Friendly banter at wineries is typical and enjoyable.) What I didn't like is that once it was just us and the 2 groups of locals, we were left in the dust a bit. The original lady helping us wasn't overly friendly to begin with, but before long we were pretty much done tasting and ready to purchase wine, but sat there quietly while the employees and locals discussed the winery being aquired by Halter, etc. One of the other employees made eye contact with me several times as we sat there waiting and they continued on talking with the locals. That is where things took a turn. With such a small tasting room, 3 staff members, and only us and the other 2 groups of locals, it felt like we were left in the dust and ignored. It left a bad impression on me and missed the mark for service, in my opinion. Hopefully, in time, they can work out the kinks here as they transition. read more

I used to love Hart Winery and went often. Hart sold the winery to Halter Ranch and I was there opening weekend. It was not the same. I ordered two glasses of cabernet sauvignon off of the tasting menu that had four wines on it. The wines pricing were not posted on the back like in the past and no prices were on the wines. It was opening weekend and we had always come with friends who were members. Normally a glass of wine there is $15 or less. The two glasses were $60. I did not order a special wine, but she said after giving me the wine this is from our winery up North. I just wanted the wine off of the tasting menu and would have loved them to have pricing. I should have asked the price but I have never had this winery bait and switch on an order. My friend after seeing my pricing asked for pricing and bought a bottle of white wine for $20. I paid and stated wow that was not what I expected and the person serving was like we have made changes. Opening weekend and you treat someone who has been there over 10 times like "your mistake stupid." I will not make that mistake again plenty of wineries in Temecula I do not have to be treated like that. Our friends who were members quit their membership because when they took over they basically told old members we do not care what we agreed on past and do not need your membership. I could see fazing out the old ways but on day one seems drastic to run off people who were already members. We all joined another winery after they opened. We do not need to give them our business and love the new place it cares about its customers and does not treat them like crap. Since we all joined we have had 8 other people join this winery. Great job on running us out on opening weekend. The pours with the new owners are half what they were with the previous ownership. I would avoid them so many places that actually care in Temecula. read more
