The food is great when they get it right but that is few and far in between. We have several people who can't eat eggs in my home and they have consistently served us Taylor ham EGG and cheese. Also for a breakfast spot they should know what an omelette is yet still haven't figured that out. I gave them 3 stars because lunch is still great here. Pasta salad is the best around. This place has an amazing bagel selection, especially if you are into sweeter flavors. They offer flavors such as apple cinnamon, cinnamon sugar, just flavors that I have never seen before which I think is really great! I ordered the cheddar jalapeño bagel and it was so flavorful. Wow, just wow! When the sign outside says best bagel in NJ, I think of Elf. But they lived up to the hype. I'm not even sure how to describe the bagel because it was that good. Packed with flavor and super soft. Good everything topping (although I like a little salt in mine). The sandwich as a whole was fantastic! The two eggs were fried, not scrambled, which is how it should be cooked in my opinion. The Taylor Ham was heated perfectly and the addition of the Swiss fits great with the flavor profile. The you add that killer bagel to it and I found what may have been the top three breakfast sandwiches I have had. Passing through and saw the colorful signage so we had to stop, and it was a great option. The shop was busy and I bet it stays that way. Tons of options. We got the French Toast bagel with plain cream cheese and a cheddar cheese bagel with double egg, Taylor ham and cheese. They put ketchup on the sandwich, very different since we are southern and use mayo. It was very good. Needed some grub before hitting the links at Ballyowen and found this bagel place. After reading the reviews it seems like the customer service is sometimes not up to par but I didn't experience this. They make a bold claim that they have the best bagels in NJ. I love the confidence. I ordered a plain bagel with veggie cream cheese. The bagel was really solid. The outside was crunchy and the inside was soft. The veggie cream cheese had loads of veggies in it. I would order that again any day of the week! The crumb cake is right there on the counter and so I had to order. They give you a big portion and it is moist and lovely. I also tried the corn muffin and it was also really good. Most corn muffins are dry and this one wasn't. Best bagels in NJ? Not sure but definitely up there. The only negative reviews are for the customer service so if they get that figured out they should be good! read more

People need to take food allergies seriously. This store doesn't. I bought a pizza bagel. I asked the woman if it have onions, and she said no. I asked a second time if the tomato sauce on the bagel had onions in it, and she said no. When I got home and took a bite I saw the white small bits of onions in it the tomato sauce. Allergies are dangerous. When a customer asks twice and are still given the incorrect information, this is not acceptable. read more

Haven't been here in a long time, stopped in for 2 bagels with cream cheese. My everything bagel with veggie cream cheese was awesome, plenty of cream cheese, super soft bagel. However, the other bagel which was everything (the bagel part was great) had, what the board said, cheddar bacon cream cheese. It was actually bacon, cheddar, and horseradish. My husband hates horseradish (I know, it's crazy) but I love it so we traded bagels. While it was tasty for me, the horseradish was WAY too strong to not be listed as an ingredient. For the longest time, my wife has told me that this was a great bagel place. Since I was in the area this past week, I decided to stop in for lunch. I went with a bacon, egg, and cheese on a plain bagel and a large coffee. The sandwich was excellent! I've been to so many bagel shops in NW NJ in the past year, and this sandwich was one of the best. Since my in-laws used to live in the area, I've passed this place many times. Okay. Against my better judgement I made a review based off of one visit. But my subsequent two visits did not live up to the previous hype. On a different day I was excited to order the same Taylor ham, egg, and cheese sandwich. This time the visual difference was obvious. The quality of the bagel, the crisp of the toast, less meat, and overall just smaller sandwich. Inconsistency is a real bummer when it comes to food you're excited about. Ate there a third time a week later and ordered something safe (or so I thought). A toasted creamed cheese bagel with bacon. The "bacon" we received was nothing I've seen before. It was super duper thin that it was translucent. And it was more like a crumb instead of strips. It did not taste like bacon--or anything else for that matter. What a disappointment. This hidden gem is amazing! My friends stopped by here to get some coffee and bagels and boy was I in awe decorations in an establishment is one of my favorite things to do! They had several celebrity autographs around the coffee shop which was amazing. There are SO many options and great for the whole family. They also have gluten free items as well as vegetarian ones! The staff was very friendly and helpful. I ordered a onion bagel with jalapeño cream cheese. My daughter had the chocolate muffin. I am very confused about what happened today. My son has always claimed that this place is THE BEST BAGEL spot. I stopped there today to get a couple of bagels. Mine was fine...but my son's was completely burnt. Now...IF this was an oversight, that would be one thing...but buttering a burnt bagel and then wrapping and bagging it??? This place is so gross I really don't understand the high reviews. First of all, it's FILTHY inside. Second of all, the girls behind the counter, who are incredibly unfriendly (but who cares, I'm not there to make a new friend) wear gloves but keep them on while ringing folks up on the cash register, handling money, handling credit cards, and bagging your bagels/muffins/etc. I used to work in food service, I KNOW those gloves are sweaty and uncomfortable, but you can't wear gloves while touching EVERYTHING and pretend you're following sanitary guidelines. Take a lead from other shops and have a dedicated cashier - let the others prepare the food and have ONE person handling money, credit cards, etc. Will not be back. read more

Best bagels ever. Best sandwiches ever. We had these guys cater our wedding weekend - breakfast and lunch. Delivery was on time, every time, and my guests loved that they could just wake up and there was a spread at 830am every day of delicious bagels, muffins, crumb cakes, & coffee. Wedding was a 3 day weekend at a bed & breakfast so we used the bagel station to provide all the meals that weren't catered. I am not disappointed. I grew up in Sparta and senior year of high school I just about skipped one of my morning classes each week to sneak out & get a bagel from this place so we go way back! Happy I was able to use them during my wedding weekend! Edit: I'm still eating the potato salad leftovers. Kid you not, I eat it for breakfast it is THAT good. So the fact they only take cash is a little crazy considering most people don't carry cash anymore and they have an ATM that hits you with a crazy fee and then of course your bank will hit you with another one. Oh no Yelp, it's one of the very few times that you've done me wrong. A four star bagel place definitely catches my eye. I was on my way back home from the Sussex County Fairgrounds, when my family, friends, and I decided to stop here for lunch. We were psyched that they had outdoor seating because we had a pup with us. When we got inside the line wasn't too long, about 3 people ahead of us, but it took forever to finally place our order. I ordered a toasted Honey Cracked wheat bagel with light scallion cream cheese, taylor ham and mozz cheese on a multigrain bagel for my husband, and a bagel for my daughter. We finally got our food, sat outside, and hungrily tore into our bagels. My toasted bagel was barely warm. Usually when I order a toasted bagel, it as least has some crunch to it. The bagels were so doughy that they weren't really enjoyable at all. I will say that the pumpkin spice coffee was good, and their apple cider donuts were good as well. Buy the donuts in the 6-pack though, because the single apple cider donut my husband bought wasn't as good. I'm not sure why this place has 4 stars, I just wasn't impressed! read more
