Bacon, egg, avacado and hot sauce on a plain bagel
    Breyanna A.

I ordered a bacon, egg, avocado, and hot sauce on a plain bagel, which is my usual order at bagel stores except this one was the best one yet. To start, normally bagel stores just put a fried egg on your sandwich but no, bagel tree exceeds expectations and gives you a nice big fluffy scrambled egg! Additionally, the bagel was super soft and really good consistency. I also loved that they put the avacado on the bottom instead of the top this way the egg and bacon doesnt just slide all out of the bagel!

Located in a nondescript shopping center just off Route 23 in Franklin Township, The Bagel Tree is a no-frills bagel and coffee shop offering a tasty selection of bagels and traditional brunch cuisine including breakfast sandwiches, omelettes, deli sandwiches, and salads. The Bagel Tree offers traditional bagels -- plain, egg, poppy, sesame, onion, garlic, salt, whole-grain, pumpernickel, and marble rye -- as well as a handful of innovative varieties, such as cinnamon raisin, blueberry, and two seasonal flavors from a rotating list of customer favorites -- jalapeño, sundried tomato basil, spinach garlic, chocolate chip, cheddar, vegetable, cranberry, french toast, and banana nut. My dining companion and I recently stopped in for a quick lunch while passing through the area on a recent Saturday afternoon and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, cleanliness of the dining area, the variety of options on the menu, and the friendliness of the staff. The menu is relatively limited -- with a handful of omelettes, a dozen sandwiches that run the gamut from single-meat staples to more innovative options, and a few salads. While most diners were ordering iterations of breakfast sandwiches featuring the local staple Taylor Ham, we opted for the more traditional lunch selections. I ordered the breaded chicken cutlet, pounded thin and served with bbq sauce and frizzled onions, served on an everything bagel. My companion ordered the Smokehouse Panini, comprised of turkey, smoked gouda cheese, bacon, avocado, and tomato pressed on rye bread. Both of us were very happy with these selections -- made to order and served hot -- although my companion indicated her panini was missing something salty. Perhaps a pickle? The real star of the meal for me was the tasty starch-dipped french fries served alongside the Smokehouse Panini and generously shared by my dining companion. We'd definitely stop back next time we're in the area.

The bagels were so good! They also have free drip coffee. It does get a bit busy in the morning so be prepared to wait!

I pass through Monticello a few times a year and Monticello Bagel has turned into my little road…read moretrip ritual. I pull off, stretch my legs, and you can smell the toasters working the second you open the door. Last time it was a rainy morning and the whole place had that warm bakery air. I ordered an everything bagel with scallion cream cheese and a coffee. The bagel came out still warm in a brown paper bag. Good crust, proper chew, not bready. Seeds actually stick instead of shedding all over the car. Small thing, but it matters. The line can look long from the door, but it moves. I was back in my car in maybe ten minutes. Parking is straightforward. If I am trying to make time, the drive through is there and does what it should. The staff is focused and quick. Not chatty in a forced way. Just normal, which I appreciate before caffeine. This is not a fancy place and it does not try to be. No rainbow bagels, no dessert disguised as breakfast. It is a simple bagel shop that knows its lane. Price felt fair. Coffee was hot and not burnt. Cream cheese ratio was right. I am picky about that. Do I wish the menu had a little more going on. Yeah. A couple extra spreads, maybe a rotating special. If you want wild flavors, this is not that stop. But the classics are done properly, and that is why I keep coming back. If you are passing through town and need a quick breakfast that will not let you down, this is an easy yes. Park, grab a bag, get back on the road. Simple, reliable, and it hits the spot..

We loved our sandwiches! Caution - the paper cups for the tea and coffee are not the strongest and both of our lids popped off in the car. Not a deal breaker, we had extra napkins, but definitely a bummer. We would still go back for more bagels!!!

What they lack in web presence and flashy signage, they more than make up for with fantastic bagel sandwiches and genuinely friendly service. It's a small, no-frills place--just a few stools inside and a handful of outdoor tables--but that's part of its charm. It's really all about grabbing your food and hitting the road. The staff couldn't have been nicer, thanking us multiple times for coming in and serving up everything with a smile. We ordered a bacon, egg & cheese on a French toast bagel, a sausage, egg & cheese on a garlic bagel, plus a chocolate milk and an iced mocha latte. Total was $24.32, which felt very fair for the quality. The bagels were perfectly toasted on the outside while still warm and doughy inside. The eggs were cooked just right, the cheese melted beautifully, and the breakfast meats were generous--no skimpy sandwiches here. Everything was made to order, fresh, and packed up in a simple brown bag, ready to go. Parking can be a little tricky since the shop sits right on a busy roadway, but we managed to snag a spot right out front. Conveniently, it's located across the street from one of the entrances to Great Wolf Lodge--so if you're staying there or passing through, this is a super easy and tasty option. Clean, quick service, great food, fair prices--I'd absolutely recommend Bagel N Go for anyone needing a solid on-the-go breakfast stop that won't break the bank.
