In town for a sporting event and noticed this restaurant on Yelp. We're so glad we stopped in! The food is very fresh and the staff was friendly. There are only a few tables to sit at but we were able to grab one. There was a never ending stream of college kids picking up orders they had placed online. I've eaten hundreds of BLT's in my life... it's my "go to" sandwich when at a deli and I'm not famished... seriously I have had plenty... from the sorry three strips of bacon, the outer laves of the iceberg head and a. Lice of hot house hard tomato with a spare schmere of Mayo. The bread can be under toasted or even over toasted... I just had the BEST BLT ever in my life... right here at the Hamilton Eatery. Properly toasted wheat bread, ample Mayo, lots of crispy bacon and ripe tomato slice... wrapped up nice and presented properly... all the proportions were correct, the textures as they should be and temps perfect as well... tomato, Mayo and lettuce were chilled and the roast and bacon were warm! Very good deli. Had my first meal (lunch) here and thought it was very good. They have a nice selection of subs and signature sandwiches. I had a grilled roast beef sandwich with pepper jack cheese and it was a great lunch. A couple of things that I would call "minor" negatives were the fact there's not a lot of seating area for sitting in and during the lunch rush it's quite crowded (which is probably just a good sign that they're a good place for lunch) and it's quite a wait for your sandwich to be ready. The reality is it's a great place for lunch and the drawbacks are minor. I usually bring lunch when I'm working (which I was when I came in), but if not - I'll be back for sure for a good meal with good service. read more

Man, I really like this place. A friend advised me to get the big Willy my first time, and I haven't strayed away; it's just so good. But honestly, unlike other restaurants where I'm comfortable ordering the same thing over and over again, everything on the menu here seems amazing! Really doesn't seem like you can go wrong. I'll definitely explore more of the menu next semester at Colgate. Other than that, I think the place has a really great feel. Classic deli sort of feel to it. Love that they have sides sitting out in a display case to pick from. I always go with whatever type of mac 'n cheese they have in there, and it never disappoints. Cool place to stop for a quick sandwich in Hamilton. All the usual sandwich selections plus a bunch of grilled options. Full beverage line and beers as well. Only criticism I have is that they do not have a rest room. That seems crazy to me. How do you have a sit down establishment and not offer facilities? Great food! The specials are all good, but the teriyaki rice bowls are my favorite! They also serve iced coffee letting you add your own cream and sweetener so it will be just how you want it. Large selection of specialty beers as well. The only bad thing is they close for most of the summer leaving us locals wanting! When I went to this establishment, they messed up my order. When I called, the woman who answered the phone, Nicky, was incredibly rude. She did not make me feel welcome to come back and get the right order that I wanted. Hamilton needed a place like this, but they still have to get their timing down. Things take a while. I know that they use the grill for pretty much everything, but it's slow. Even when I called in an order, still had to wait once I got there. I'm never sure why since it never seems to be super busy. Also egg, bacon & cheese on bagel was $5.50 - really? Said bagels were from the Bronx, sounds more like Bronx grocery store freezer - not impressed. Big Willy is pretty good: turkey, cheddar, tomato & guacamole on sourdough ($7.95). Also the grilled cheese is tasty as well ($4.50). Awesome selection of beers. read more

If I had only $7 and needed to get something that would fill me to the brim there is no doubt I would get a veggie burger from the Hamilton Eatery. Now, with a few extra shillings I would most definately get guacamole and fried mushrooms and onions on it also. Add to that the AMAZING selection of beers, danceable tunes playing, huge variety of sodas, chips and their homemade rice crispy treats and cookies- this is the place to go for tailgating, take out lunches or just a restocking of your beer fridge. Wow - great sandwiches!! It does take a few minutes but it's well worth the wait for a fantastic sandwich - I had the Rachel: turkey Ruben on marble rye- with great coleslaw instead of sauerkraut, and it was grilled just right! So love the Eatery. Any food I have gotten here has been awesome. The only reason they get a 4 insted of a 5 is because they have strange hours sometimes. I have found they fallow the Colgate College break with there hours. I'm a local so I find it sad in the summer when they are closed and I really want a big willy sandwich. That is the only thing I would add to them have summer hours and post them. In really like when they post there specials on facebook as well, I wish more food places would do this. read more

Although this one-of-a-kind Eatery is closed for a month or so, they'll be back soon with all of their goodies you've been waiting for! I still wish they were open, but us locals don't frequent here as much as we should.
