    Chef's tasting dinner at Bellini
    shannon ..

Elegant Upscale boutique hotel in downtown Providence. Exceptional customer service provided at check in by Tori Z. From the moment we arrived, the Béatrice staff was friendly, helpful and attentive. Our room was a gorgeous corner room on the 4th floor with 2 huge windows! We had The chef's tasting menu for dinner at Bellini. Every course was meticulously prepared and scrumptious beyond our expectations! Our waiter (Giovanni ?) made us feel like we were his only table! Bravo!! Bellini was so delicious, We ordered room service one night and sat at the bar to enjoy Bellini's amazing Burrata and a bottle of Veuve Clicquot. The bartender Julia (superstar!) and the manager Mike were beyond helpful with their local insight to our upcoming move to providence. 5 stars ++ to The Béatrice and its brilliant team!!! We will be back!

I had an amazing stay at The Beatrice. The location is perfect - right near delicious restaurants, cocktail bars, and coffee shops and a 5 minute walk to the train station. The folks working at the front desk were wonderful. They are super accommodating and happy to help make your stay exceptional. The room itself exceeded my expectations - beautiful, bright and spacious. The Nespresso machine was an amazing luxury amongst many others. I loved the heated towel rack, the LED makeup mirror, the Dyson air dryer, and the fancy heated toilet. The walk-in shower was luxurious. Also you can't beat a comfy bathrobe. The downsides of our room was that the TV speaker was in the bathroom and not coming out of the actual TV. It was so strange and made hearing the tv from your bed super difficult and strained. Also, the thermostat was a bit difficult to maneuver but eventually it was working fine. Finally, because you're downtown, expect loud noises from the nearby bus station or random people screaming outside at 2 AM. This didn't bother me too much but is worth noting.

I heard so many great things about this new hotel and cancelled a suite at another boutique hotel that included breakfast for two, parking, and was far less money just to try this one. Sometimes risk has its rewards. This was not the case. While this hotel is new and well designed, it was not special enough for me to return. Providence has so many hotels (both chain and independent) that have perks far superior in my opinion. Service was cordial. Status quo. Nothing above and beyond. No welcome drinks. No room upgrades. No loyalty program. This doesn't bother some people, but in this market you need more than an electronic toilet to win business. Things I liked: the interior design. The location. Newness. Dyson hairdryer. In room steamer. Fit Kit (which is advertised as in room, but needs to be requested and is a gym bag full of work out equipment). Things I didn't like: Third floor looks into offices. Our room was over the recycle and trash area which started at 5:20am! The noise continued for an hour and a half. In between that noise was the thumping of footsteps overhead from the room above. No tea in room (coffee only). There is an amenity advertised as "Bea's Book Bag". Staff couldn't explain what this was and were supposed to get back to me next day. They did not. The shower. The mixer is very hot or very cold. No in between. The temperature control light. If you need to adjust the temp in the night expect the bright light right next to your bed to stay on for a full minute or two. The vibe. We felt like we were in an office building. Staff wasn't overly warm and friendly. The restaurant drink prices were more than something you'd see in NY or SF. Why? The price tag even on the basic room was inflated. Again, there is no reason to pay far more for this property. One and done for us.

The only issue I had was that I requested a late check-out and the person working the counter really gave me a hard time about it. I understand that late check-outs aren't guaranteed, but her attitude about it was really off. She kept insisting that I need to speak with her manager to approve it, but she never offered to get the manager. I just gave up and decided to speak with someone else the next day. When I came by the next day, the person working let us have the 2pm check-out and the manager did happen to walk by and said it was not an issue at all. And it turns out the girl from the night before did mark me as a 1pm check-out. Honestly, though, this was still an issue because housekeeping came at 1pm to clean the room... The room itself was a room. Clean and standard to Hampton Inn. The bathroom was good, with a nice shower stall and good water pressure but a low flow toilet. My room was in a separate part of the building with only like 6 rooms on the floor. This was nice when it came to hotel noise. However, the windows are very thin and the complaints about car drag racing all night are not incorrect. The location of this hotel was fantastic, an easy walk to many of the sights in the area. One day we decided to take the shuttle and that was fabulous. This hotel is worth staying at for the shuttle alone.

The website was easy to use to book the free tickets. The expo was open on Friday 6-9 pm and Saturday & Sunday 12-6 pm. I entered Hilton Providence Downtown Hotel on Saturday around 1:30pm and saw a sign that the Amazing Art Expo was on the 2nd floor. I headed upstairs and followed some more signs to the Amazing Art Expo. There was a table of prints selling for $15 each and free prints for sharing the event on Facebook or Instagram. The Amazing Art Expo had tables of Harry Potter, Studio Ghibli, Disney, Star Wars, Alice in Wonderland, and so much more prints. No photography was allowed in the room. The prints were selling 1 for $35 each, 2 for $30 each, 3 for $25 each, and 4+ for $25 each. David Sobolov, the Voice Actor for Emperor Kaido in "One Piece," Gorilla Grodd on The CW Network drama The Flash, and Sean Carlson, a freelance artist born and raised in New York, were both at the Amazing Art Expo. It was nice to walk around and see the different prints. There were a good amount of people.

Look at all these one star reviews! Shameful for a Hilton. I booked rooms with breakfast included…read morein the price on Priceline, they cost more, and the hotel just would not provide what I paid for. So I had a half dozen kids doing a college tour and had to go off site somewhere else for breakfast when we were on a tight schedule AND I PREPAID FOR BREAKFAST!! I had proof of this and the very snotty front desk clerk with endless attitude said he couldn't see it on his end so he couldn't do anything. Well, contact a manager I said, and he refused. They said a manager would be in 10 am the next day, an hour after we would have left the hotel. People with problems in the morning - too bad, it seems, that is their approach. This was bad enough, but then it took many hours of my time explaining it to these people. Very little to no acceptance of their fault in this, nor agreement that my printed receipt specifying breakfast should have been accepted at the time, even though they admitted this has happened before. They said Priceline shouldn't offer this option, but a year later I checked and it was still an option! This is pretty strong proof in my mind they do not deal with their business, they see problems and ignore them instead of fixing them. So they are prepared to let you pay for breakfast on Priceline, and just not provide it. The manager was nice enough, but it was way too much effort to get my money back, taking many phone calls - in my view they should have been running to give it back given their huge failure to perform. It seemed like absent hours of time to try to force them to refund the difference, their plan is to just not provide and keep it. I had 50 rooms of college tour business this summer, and I didn't bother to even quote them, as you would expect, and went to an IHG which has been great with a well reviewed breakfast by my clients. Sorry, but read these reviews regional manager to see you need new leadership here. I am not the only one thinking this hotel is a disaster.

This hotel is lackluster at best and dated for the typical quality you'd expect from the Marriott brand, basically a Marriott disguised as a 3-star hotel. Other than the fancy lobby areas (which they upkeep to make you think it's high class) the room itself is musky, old and outdated. Vents were dusty, and I found a water bug in my room on arrival, but after a long day of flying and unpacking your bag, no one wants to move rooms. Parking is a steep charge $32 a night for not even covered parking which wraps around the building because several close spots are for preferred club members. Of course no complimentary breakfast is provided (expensive restaurant) but at least they had coffee in the morning. One nice thing was the shuttle service that will take you within a couple miles, and service/drinks at the bar was great. I would not say the location was amazing, as it is downtown but appears a bit away from a prime spot full of bars/restaurants.
