We were camping and decided to go to Barton City for breakfast. Went to the only breakfast place in town. We were a bit chilled and walked into a super clean warm establishment . Love it. There were mostly locals. The young waitress was pleasant and smiles always. We ordered our breakfasts and they were brought out shortly. We both ordered Little Manny. Two eggs, potatoes, choice of meat and toast. The cooks add a little piece of fruit. Nice touch

This restaurant is the hidden gem of North East Michigan! I went for lunch the other day and got the sliders and fries. Both were amazing! My waitress was very kind and attentive and ensured my food was exactly as I ordered. What a great new addition to area! I'll be back again and again!

She cleaned off the table and set us up, brought out a bowl of water for Gilda and took our order. Food was delicious. Greek omelet and egg and toast w American fries. We both had the homemade cinnamon toast as well. I would recommend Teresa's diner hand down. Friendly and welcoming! I never remember to take photos of the food! But it was hot and well portioned. We seriously couldn't be more pleased!

The staff are friendly and quick to acknowledge you and get your coffee or water. I ordered the classic, eggs over medium, hash browns, sausage and sour dough toast. My wife had the biscuits and gravy with a side of scrambled eggs with rye toast. The food was freshly made and delicious. Now the reason that I only rated a 3 star: half way thru the biscuits and gravy the wife found a hair in the second half. We notified the waitress and she offered to replace it but my wife was a bit unsettled and did not want anything else. The owner and waitress were very apologetic for the incident and discounted her breakfast. If it hadn't been for the hair, Teresa's would have rated a 5 star. I still recommend this restaurant as mistakes do happen and I would not hold it against them. I have eaten here previously with no incidents so try them out if you are in the area.

It pains me to leave a mere two-star review but I couldn't find much to like here. The quaint…read moreambience, friendly service (we were one of the first guests to arrive on a Friday morning mid-May) and fresh brewed decaf were the highlights. The food, which is most important, was a big disappointment. I am a cinnamon roll connoisseur and was so excited to try the rolls that past Yelpers raved about. They were out of caramel today so we ordered the grilled roll with pecans and homemade buttercream frosting. It looked dry and tasted even drier. Barely warm, flourey and tasteless. The frosting was the best part. The menu of choices looks wonderful and diverse for a small cafe. I was delighted to see shrimp and grits. The skillet was very small, the food was hot (a plus) but it was heavy on the grits, which lacked flavor and space on shrimp (only 4), sausage and sauce. I ate the toppings with half the grits and left the rest. My husband ordered the hoagie sandwich with hash browns. His comment was "a lot of bread and minimal filling" with "luke warm" hash browns that were more spongy than crispy. It's hard to go wrong with breakfast, but somehow Lazy Toaster has missed the mark. The concept is fun, the menu is great, yet the recipes and preparation could use some major improvements. The tab ($41 for two) was not bad, but was high for the quality. We liked the decor yet felt the cleanliness was lacking (sticky floors and no paper towels in the bathroom). A breakfast place in East Tawas is a plus; I hope this cafe commits to some improvements and stays around.

Accompanying hash browns were equally well made and tasty where just the right amount of grease/butter was used to make my food (no greasy food here!). This all too often is an issue you see with these small breakfast centric restaurants up north that I was so pleased not to see here at the Lazy Toaster. Relative to the restaurant and staff, Lazy Toaster has a nice comfortable rustic "Up north" feel to it which I enjoyed where the staff was super friendly with great follow up throughout the meal and and where they are definately on top of their game when it comes to Coffee top-offs. Nice! Overall, this is definately one of the better breakfast spots in the greater Tawas/Oscoda/Harrisville area and is now on my short list of go to restaurants in the area.

To the point where I was worried about the sustainability of such a big menu given the small-town environment of Alcona County. Nevertheless, I was happy that Rox's opened in Lincoln because if anyone knows and truly understands the area in the context of the wider, bigger world outside county lines, they know that businesses like this are sorely needed . But the big worry was whether that large a menu was sustainable for the long run. Whether we ordered takeout or sit inside for lunch, my family and I always felt cared for and appreciated. Then COVID happened. No lie, I was concerned for them because from Day 1 of opening, Rox's Diner worked hard to support the community and be a welcoming place for everyone. We needed a place like Rox's to make it through the darkest of times, not just for themselves but for the village. But they survived. The menu has been pared back now and has become more tightly focused. I think that was a good move because it allows the staff to concentrate on making what they're now offering THAT MUCH BETTER. I appreciate the original aim to offer as much as possible, to try to satisfy as many wide-ranging tastes as possible, but sometimes, that can be a bit overreaching. Being great at a few things versus being mediocre at a lot of things because of spreading oneself out too thinly is sometimes a better choice in the end. So with my most recent visit to Rox's, I was again very satisfied with my lunch. We won't say it out loud, but it was their little jab at a popular fast food chain's signature sandwich that involves some beef and cheese. But Rox's did it better, with actual beef (not some strangely processed sheets of meat-product) and on a pretzel bun, no less. The side of waffle fries was so generous that I had to save half of it for my lunch the next day. In the end, we're not looking for a Food Network spotlight that's earning a Michelin Star. What we have and what we want is a welcoming, warm, hospitable business looking to take care of the community through good food and good vibes. Rox's is that place.
