I was involved in a very minor collision with an impact so light, my passengers didn't know I'd struck anything. It was so minor that had my car not been brand new, I likely wouldn't have even bothered with repairing what amounted to a few scratches and scuffs. But I did, and chose Hammer's because they carried Ford certification. What a nightmare experience. I took my car up for an estimate, which I already had in hand from my insurance company, and they scheduled me for an appointment two weeks out and told me the repairs would likely take 3-5 days once I brought it in. I brought my car in on my appointed day and waited for word a few days later. And waited. And waited. Two weeks later, I finally called for an update and Derick, my estimator, told me that they were delayed because they had sent a supplemental estimate to my insurance company and were waiting for approval. I hung up and immediately contacted my estimator at my insurance company, who checked and said they'd received nothing from Hammer's. He said he would call and find out what was happening - so he did, and spoke to Derick, who informed him they would be sending it "very soon." So I was lied to directly, my insurance company blamed, and in reality, nothing had been done in two weeks. In fact, the next day I started getting notices on my Ford app of things not working - meaning THAT DAY, two weeks after I'd dropped it off for my appointment, is when they started taking my car apart to repair. The supplemental estimate was also hilariously inflated. I've included a photo of the damage done to my car, and this managed to take an estimated $1,200 repair job up to more than $4,500. The work itself was fine - my car looks new again and for that I am grateful. But the process to get there took 3+ weeks, lies, and thousands of dollars, and I'm confident I could have had quality work done without the headaches somewhere else. I won't be taking my vehicle back to Hammer's and am advising others against it as well!

My damaged taillight caused by negligence at Hammer's Autoworks.

I took my truck to Hammer's after a lady was nice enough to back up in a parking lot and hit my truck. The damage to my truck from the parking lot incident affected the driver side fender, bumper, grill and driver side headlight. The damage incurred from taking my vehicle to Hammer's affected my driver-side taillight. Since the lady who hit my truck wouldn't even pay my deductible, I asked the folks at Hammer's to put any scrap metal in the bed of my truck so I could try to recoup part of my out-of-pocket expenses. While loading the bumper into my truck bed, somebody hit my driver-side taillight causing a crack and separation of the layers in the taillight. I called my representative at Hammer's once I noticed the damage and ask him if he could look into the incident and get back to me. I explained how I believed the damage was incurred and asked him to speak to the gentlemen working on my truck to see if somebody could have possibly, accidentally damaged my taillight. The gentleman I was dealing with took his sweet time looking into the incident and I had to call back twice to get any resolution on the matter. When I was finally able to speak to the gentleman about the damaged taillight, he would not admit any fault by any employees at Hammer's, but explained that the owner wanted to replace the taillight. Seems quite suspicious to me that the owner would insist on replacing such an expensive part if his employees were not responsible for the damage. Accusing somebody of lying is a very serious accusation that I do not take lightly; however, I am absolutely convinced that the people at Hammer's would rather lie than admit wrongdoing. I would've had a lot more respect for them if they would have just admitted they made a mistake and I probably would have been a return customer as well.

The "unfixable" fender that needed to be 100% replaced yet ended up being fixed perfectly by Maaco in less than 30 minutes.

This small spot was the size of your little finger nail and I asked them to fix the workmanship defect. I paid $6042.75 for the paint job and they charged me another $1000.00 to repair their poor quality of work. When I complained about the $1000.00 they told me to talk to Mike at 1405 W. Chestnut Exp about it. When I spoke to Mike, he instantly jumped out of his chair and became aggressive towards me. Mike told me to get the "F" out of his store and I was a "MF". He continued calling me a "MF" as he charged me flaying his arms. I felt like I was going to be hit by Mike at any moment. I'm almost 71 years old, crippled and in bad health. All I wanted was a refund of the $1000.00 they charged me to fix their poor quality of work in one small spot. I didn't deserve to be treated that way nor did I deserve to be called a "MF" the entire time I was in his shop trying to cripple my way out to my truck. As I was driving away Mike stood at the shops entrance and fingered me, calling me a "MF" the entire time I was driving away.

(That's just what we need, is to pay a skyrocketed insurance premium for the next seven years. I don't think so.) When we were recommended to go and see Preston at Quality by a friend of my wifes, it was a true blessing. We were instantly impressed by the friendly, knowledgeable, and compassionate care that we received. They are definitely a cut above the rest in my opinion. They were able to take care of all of our needs with no insurance at a very reasonable price compared to everyone else. Our little truck looks new again. It was, to put it mildly, an unpleasant thing to see on an otherwise blissful Tuesday morning, so in order to spare others the misfortune of viewing our local Matisse's handiwork, I showed up at Dodson Williams without an appointment and promptly threw myself upon their mercy. I expected to hear that they were booked solid, and that I'd have to sport this wannabe Banksy's phallic iconography for a week before they could bother fixing it. Instead, I'd barely gotten acquainted with the waiting room furniture before a technician was buffing my hood with some magic car-body god-nectar that promptly returned my ride (and dignity) to normal. It all took less than 15 minutes. And although I'd have gladly paid handsomely for this level of service, in the end they charged me a big fat nothing for their trouble - thus earning this five star review, and my business for life.

Went to Maaco collision repair for another estimate, it was only $209! Chad M from Maaco offered an entirely better idea that I tried to explain to Bobby. How I was looking for a cheap solution. Chad simply suggested a new inner piece to re attach my OWN bumper. This is what I wanted and was looking for. I'm not sure if Dodson-Williams really thought this was the best soulltion.
