first I will start off by saying I don't have time to write a book about all the bad things we have experienced with Hammon. 2019 we moved here from out of town. We had hammond ins two separate hvac systems. We opted to by the best out of the six shown us. It was a York. Since then we have had Hammond out so many times with issues I lost count. One issue was a water leak that was so bad Sheetrock and flooring needed to be replaced.They have already replaced the motors!! one of the techs told us that York had issues they knew about but still installed them. Now I heard they stopped. We are in the process of getting a lawyer and contactIngles the BBB. We spent over 18,000. On these systems and HAMMOND has yet to tell us what they are going to do to insure our investment will be covered. read more

Ok we have been dealing with Hammond for a long time..... We have had tech after teach after tech here(I think like16) Everyone says oh it was this person or this person. A lot of them have passed the buck from one guy to another saying it was the tech then the tech guy says oh it was the installers and the problem never really getting resolved. Tonight we had a guy that was new to Hammond his name was Mark Hillson. He was polite and answered all of our questions in full. He never passed the buck. He just listened and answered (with a smile). We would have him in our home as our tech anytime. Thank you Mark for finally getting the house to cool. Our furnace died on Christmas Eve and a mutual friend suggested Ben Parrish at Messiah Heating and Air. Ben and his staff, including Eric and Chris, were absolutely wonderful. Ben offered to come out CHRISTMAS DAY but we didn't want anyone to have to to do, so he came out the 26th. We had gotten 2 other quotes and talked with several people and decided to go with Ben Parrish and Messiah. They were prompt, professional, and pleasant to work with. Ben is great at following up. We left the house open to them while we ran errands and felt 100% fine with that. Would highly recommend Messiah Heating and Air. read more

Had Hammond out to get estimates on two separate jobs. The first guy kept pointing out valuables in my house like he was casing the place. He didn't listen to me because he would ask questions about things I had already said. He couldn't give a quote on either jobs, so he called other techs to come later and quote the other job. The first guy shows the NEXT day and treats me like an idiot. I remind him that I did the job initially, but after becoming disabled, I couldn't do it. He just gave me a blank stare and quoted me 3 times what it should cost. Finally, the other guy shows for the other quote. Again, I'm talked to like an idiot and told about all of the "new" parts I'll need, when other companies have told me they can reuse most parts. A few years ago we had a leak under the kitchen sink and Hammonds charged me $700.00 to replace the part in the kitchen sink. It is leaking again and I find out the part he replaced it with had a paper seal!!!!!!!!! No way would I use them again. I had been a loyal customer for years! They will have to call me! We asked them to return around 4hrs later and when they came, they tried to charge us more. If they did their job, they didn't need to come back!! We will never use them again. We relocated here recently and had a plumbing issue with t h e guest toilet in our home in Peachtree Sun City. We called Hammond and they came out to unstop the toilet and charged $160+. About 30 days we called them back for the same problem and was charged another $160. service fee. Said they didn't guarantee their work for more than 30 days. Not impressed with them at all. You never expect your heater to just go out on you and in this day and age, I'm expecting that there is no way someone is going to come out at Dark:30 and service you. Hammond was awesome! They sent someone out who arrived around 9:00 pm. Told us our options. Had someone there the next morning with spare heaters and had us scheduled to replace our furnace within a few days. Multiple people stopped by as part of their team to verify the sale from an engineering standpoint, to install, and to inspect the install. They were reasonably priced. The people on the phone knew exactly what I was talking about when I called with questions. Even installed an extra vent in our kitchen like it was slicing butter with a hot knife. Highly recommend them for anyone who may have a heating or air HVAC need. Each person on their team is specialized and very good at what they do. DO NOT USE!!!!! Had a leaking water heater in the attic. They charge $150 just to show up... non refundable. After checking everything out, he tells me that the water heater "they use" is too big to fit through attic stairs and there will be an additional $400-$600 charge to cut a whole in my ceiling. Then he says my water pressure is too high and needs $150 for a reducer valve (pressure is 78 psi...perfectly ok). The total bill was going to be around $2500!!! I had to write him a check for $150 to get him to leave. He sat out in front of my house for an additional 30 minutes for god knows what??? Called another plumber who put in a better water heater... total cost $1200. Used a standard 22" diameter 50 gal. that fit through attic stairs with no problems. The water heater was the same brand, but thinner, than the version Hammond was going to use. I feel that Hammond is a company that teaches there technicians how to overcharge by finding "other" problems you don't have! I suspect the "positive" reviews are planted, or from people who were extremely lucky! read more

This company preys on the disadvantaged and uses scare techniques to seal the deal. My mother (widowed) called them out for a quote, after telling her "she's lucky she isn't dead" bc of wiring issues. She hurriedly signed a contract for a re-wire and AC unit that cost more than her trailer is worth. To make matters worse, they cut a gas line under the house while installing the supply vents that resulted in an empty propane tank, and the VERY REAL possibility that HAMMOND could have killed someone as she could smell gas in the house. Be prepared for multiple visits by multiple technicians as one tries to fix the "repairs" the other has made. A 2 day quote to install took more than a week. Predatory Lending is their MO...scare an elderly widow, get her to sign on the dotted line, and then take your time installing all while collecting your monthly payback. I have lived in my house for about 7 years and I never had an issue with the AC unit. I don't know much about AC/heating systems but I knew I needed a check-up. I used a coupon off their website and ended up doing some other maintenance when the tech came out. The guy was early and that was a nice surprise. I expected to spend more than the coupon but I ended up spending more than I thought. Overall they are professional and on time but I can not comment on the cost of services since I have nothing to compare it to. read more

I had Hammond come out to our property today and replace the hand sprayer at the kitchen sink. Technician Chris replaced it and everything appears to be working fine. My issue is with the price which I feel is outrageous and a Ripoff. $235 for 20 minutes of work and what should be a $20 part, on average. To make matters worse. There's a fee to have him come out which is separate from their actual labor price of $118 us per hour. When I called in later about it the phone rep actually attempted to justify it. Outstanding service. Prompt repairs (had a new energy efficient air conditioning unit installed). They quickly and correctly diagnosed the problems with our old air conditioning unit, which we ended up replacing. Don't ever go with Hammond services! After knowing what was wrong with my unit I had to pay for a service call only to have him tell me what I already knew. After that the tech stated that he would "get back with me with a price on the part I needed". After 4 days they then stated that "they" were the ones who installed the unit and said the part was out of warranty. They then quoted me a price that was excessive. After finding out they lied to me about the warranty, Another company installed the unit, I canceled my ongoing "dis" service agreement with them only to have them charge me for another month of service. It took a cease and desist order to get them to stop. NEVER again will I trust this company and I honestly don't know how i got involved with them in the first place. read more

Service aren't cheap. It costs money to run a business. I get that. However Hammond services wanted $257 dollars to install a sink drain trap. This is after a $50 first time customer discount. I got an entire water heater installed by another local polumber for $120. I heard good things about this company so I thought I would give them a shot. This job, for a professional would have taken about an hour. So we are now talking an approximate $250 hourly rate with, and i'm over estimating, $50 in parts. This is insane. To add insult to injury I then owed them $95 for just showing up and screwing us. I would never recommend this company to anyone and I can only hope this review sends other potential customers elsewhere. A complete and total ripoff! read more

I would recommend NOT using this company for any HVAC repair! They diagnosed a bad control board on my gas furnace. They wanted to charge me $822 to install a new board, about a 30 minute job. I checked and found the retail cost of a replacement board to be $320. So, they were, in essence, going to charge me $500 in labor or $1000 per hour. To me, that is called price gouging. read more

Quick service, a knowledgeable tech came to the house on time with an electronic prompt to let us know he was coming, and online billing worked well so on those levels I am satisfied. The price for the work was 3X what my regular plumber quoted. My plumber was booked out and I needed the fast fix so I paid the highly inflated rate. Comments to the company were met with canned replies about the 'flat rate billing rate' but in my case the actual work time equated to over $5 a min. Called the office at 1145 for update and was told they had contacted us prior to appointment; however, no one called the entire morning and the tech did not arrive as scheduled. On Saturday evening Hammond Services sent a technician out to replace my hot water heater. I must say that I was extremely impressed with Marty, who was very professional and honest. I must have been his last appointment of the day being that it was after 5:00 pm, but he did not rush or act as if he was in a hurry to complete my project. I personally felt bad that it took a while to complete the project and it was a Saturday evening. Marty took all the time to show me how to light the pilot light and adjust the temperature, which no one has ever done who has worked on my home. I would highly recommend this company because I tried to work with two other plumbing companies and they were dishonest an way over priced. Hammond made the process simple from the office manger I spoke too who was kind and knowledgeable, as well as the series of communication regarding my appointment. I'm very thankful that I found a company who I could trust and who was honest helping me through the process with my new hot water heater. What a great Birthday present for this month! read more

I just had a breaker switch replaced at my house and it took all of 30 minutes. The charge for this service was a whopping $297.65. I almost fainted that is as an exorbitant price as I have ever seen. The Diagnostic check charge was $85 and I told the tech it was a bad breaker to begin with and still get charged $85. Then the breaker switch it self was $212.65 so, I checked at Lowe's what this breaker cost and it was between $49.95 and $60.49 for one. So, the marked up for the breaker installed at my home was over 4 times what the part actually cost. Wow! I am very disappointed in Hammond for that kind of mark-up and cost to replace one $60 breaker. read more

Lack of expertise caused me $1779 in repairs later on. My heat pump was not heating/cooling well. The house is only 5 years old. Called Hammond for service last year after seeing good reviews. The tech came in and did a "complete system check" as I was told and found nothing except "it needed a little Freon". The pump worked a little better but nowhere near as it was before. We travel extensively, so the house was not occupied for some time. This year the heating/cooling stopped working again. This time me being home, I troubleshooted myself only to realize that the compressor has shorted to ground. Called Hammond again and was told that the tech will be dispatched to give an estimate at no cost. Four hours later got a call back and the person on the phone said that they will come but will charge me for an estimate or I can wait a week for a no cost estimate. At this point did not want to deal with them. Called another HVAC business. The tech came on site; I was there at all time being cautious at the HVAC "experts". With in 10 min, the tech found a broken tube of Thermal Expansion Valve pointing out that this is what killed my compressor. Looking at the discoloration of the metal, it was obvious it has been broken for a long time. After telling the tech the history behind the performance of the pump past repairs, etc and the higher then usual heating bills, the tech said that whoever was at my home last year did not do do diligence in checking the system or simply was not knowledgeable enough to look at the right palces based on the symptoms. Once my compressor was replaced by another service provider, I called Hammond to express my concerns. He suggested that I should have called again when that "complete system check" was done and that other service providers will badmouth as well. He wanted to see the failed part and also promised to look up my service record with a promise to call me back Never got a call back never offered at least a refund Update: Few days after posting the review got a check in the mail for $150 originally spent on the system check. Nice gesture. Seems like the owner had a "talk" with his employees. read more

This company charged me $144 to "replace toilet supply"'. Turns out a toilet supply is a $5 hose that is screwed onto the tank of the toilet and the water pipe. It was not explained this was a simple repair that did not need to be done by a plumber. When I emailed the owner to ask that the bill be adjusted to reflect the cost of the part and and the 3 minute installation time, I was told they were a high quality service provider not a low cost one, and was offered a $25 credit - which I did not accept. I am not sure how much quality it takes to screw on a hose, but $144 for this was highway robbery! read more

Had a plumbing emergency sunday night called hammond Had a plumber come out and stayed until 11:45 p.m. couldn't figure out what was wrong Came back out monday , said they videoed the line and that i had rolled pipe and a collapsed portion about 102 feet from my home causing the issue.Wanted to charge 8 thousand plus dollars to dig up my yard and repair it !!!!! said no! got a new plumber out and he dug my front yard up not only did i NOT have rolled pipe i have cast iron pipe in excellent condition in my yard with NO collapsed areas . so i had unnecessary work done costing in the thousands because hammond straight lied about my plumbing to garner money . the problem was a simple clog under my daughters bathroom that was blasted out in under 5 minutes !!!!!!! and hammond still charged 385.00$ for their two calls and would not refund me when i called to complain about the blatant lies i was told !! I was very disappointed Hammond's administration and policies today and was left in a lurch with financial consequences. I was very appreciative to Hammond for arranging an appointment with me to get through an inspection list needed in the next two business days to ensure timely home closing. I emailed the inspection report per their request this morning to the Hammond office and explicitly confirmed the noon time arranged the appointment today. They apparently have a policy of needing to speak to someone on the phone hours before deploying the repair person on the day of which was not explained to me and reasonably I expected Hammond to keep an appointment that was arranged the day before and confirmed via email the day of. I was in meetings all morning and not available to accept personal calls but had arranged time off from work to meet Hammond at the residence. I called Hammond's office 30 minutes before the appointment since I saw voice mails and was informed that the repair person was now deployed to a different area and would not be able to complete the service. There was no apology and no attempt to reschedule rather I was presented with an accusatory tone that I didn't appreciate. They did confirm receiving my email in the voice mails they left me and during my call back. It was explained to me that employees are written up if they are unable to speak directly to the homeowner the day of and email is not an acceptable form of communication to confirm an appointment. There is no policy excuse that would reasonably allow poor customer service like this. I hope Hammond applies its policies with a little more common sense in the future with other customers. I will not be using Hammond nor recommending Hammond to others in the future. read more
