WOW! The Portland Roll here is , literally my mouth is on fire but in the best way. Cute / small restaurant in Downtown Portland. Great staff and would recommend. I came for a quick bite for lunch and it was perfect.

This place is very small like 6 tables but worth the squeeze. The fish is soo good i wish we would have made reservations for the all you can eat but I wanted to try their fish first and yes it was amazing. I took two pics but then forgot to take the others because I was lost at how good the fish was. But the A++ was the server who had to handle all table full house ! She was so helpful and handled being short staff very well. I will definitely come with a reservation for the 100 dollar per person all you can eat!

It was an incredible experience, I truly recomenden if you like nigiris and omakase style, I think the price is reasonable for the amount of food that you can get. I'll be coming back for sure.

Hamono Sushi was such a fun and memorable experience, especially if you enjoy letting the chef take the lead. We did the omakase, the first round of fish the chef selected was my absolute favorite part of the entire meal. Each piece felt intentional and beautifully prepared. It was simple, clean, and melt-in-your-mouth good. It set the tone for the rest of our date night. After that, the all-you-can-eat portion is definitely worth it. You still get quality, but with the added fun of trying more rolls and specialties at your own pace. I appreciated that they offer unique items and house specialties. It didn't feel repetitive or generic. And don't skip dessert. I ended the night with the cheesecake, and it was such a satisfying finish, creamy, not overly heavy, and the perfect sweet note after all the savory bites. Overall, Hamono is a great spot if you want a mix of elevated omakase moments with the freedom to keep enjoying more. Service was great too! I forgot to mention the meal comes with a complimentary glass of Japanese beer! It feels both special and indulgent at the same time, definitely a place I'd return to when I'm craving a sushi night that feels like an experience.

Me and 2 friends went and what DIDNT WE GET?! We did the all you can eat, which included the 3 course tasting, with sake then we indulged in many more and all the desserts. Our server was amazing, she had a great personality, was tentative, explained all the nigiri in detail (sake as well), and gave suggestions on her favorites. Small space but I really didn't hear any other tables around us, still felt very intimate. WELL WORTH the price, absolutely stuffed when we left. Spice edamame *chefs kiss*, and the green tea brûlée cheesecake? HOLY MOLY SO GOOD I'll 1000000% be back!

Our group of 3 had a reservation at 6:30pm and we had to wait 15 minutes to get seated. They didn't really seem to be organized tbh, as I had to show proof of reservation lol. I feel like they could have asked for my name and checked their system themselves in this event. For $100 for AYCE Omakase, it was just ok. I've gone to other AYCE Sushi spots with similar quality and even more variety at a cheaper price, so I wasn't quite impressed. I figured the quality would be a lot better with a smaller selection, but not quite. While nothing was fishy, nothing was amazing either. The nigiris are on the smaller side, which is fine as we could just order more. It's a little slow to get our food, so I don't think we ate as much as we could have, having been waiting around. I had to flag staff down frequently for tea. One thing that kind of didn't sit well with me was that I wanted 2 desserts, and I was told "we usually don't allow 2 but we can do it this time", LIKE WHAT? Okaaayyyyy lol, sure.... Also, we saw other tables had different items and when we requested it, they said no and it was regular menu items. So just an FYI. While the experience was just ok, I wouldn't revisit, personally.

What better way to start off 2026 than with AYCE omakase! I highly recommend making a reservation because this restaurant has very limited seating. The interior is beautiful with flowers hanging from the ceiling & a beautiful koi fish painting. They offer a sake tasting, but we don't drink so they let us substitute it with a yuzu soda & a white grape demisoda. We enjoyed the high quality omakase & their servers were extremely knowledgeable about what was being served. We started off with miso soup followed by 12 pieces of the chef's choice nigiri. After that a warm & flavorful steamed egg was served. Once we finished the streamed egg that was when the real fun started. We made our way through the all you can eat omakase menu which included must tries such as A5 wagyu, toro, scallop, ebi, uni toro hand roll, and much more. We finished off the night with a green tea cheese cake & a mochi. I wish I had more belly room because the food was that good! We already look forward to coming back next time!

AYCE omakase for $100?? Sign me up! I think this is such a good deal for the price. And the quality of the fish is amazing. Most AYCE places offer quantity over quality, but I think Hamono delivers both. The only complaint I'd have is the service. They did forget a few things that we ordered but it wasn't a big deal since we could order it again on the AYCE. And the servers were super friendly. I will definitely be returning.

It's a cute place with friendly service and decent quality food. We tried their take on omakase. It's more like a set menu plus AYCE. When we went they were out of several types of fish for the AYCE section (uni, saba, toro, and maguro).

If I could give more stars I would. We stumbled in here after attending an event at the Moxy Hotel nearby. What a happy accident this ended up being! The menu had a large selection of sushi (a few vegetarian options which is what I go for) and plenty of fish options (obviously). The space is small, intimate if you will. There's probably 7 tables total. Each was taken when we arrived but they sat us at the counter (which had surprisingly comfortable padded stools!). It was decorated really nicely and felt cozy. The food was fantastic. The size of the rolls were great, especially for the price. Everything is made fresh, and we know because we sat at the counter and watched the chef in action. Everything came out as it was prepared, and my gosh was it so yummy! The star here is the service. I think we interacted with nearly every single employee and they were all so friendly, so welcoming and seemed genuinely happy we were there, despite how busy they were an hour before closing! While we were there we looked if they're on food delivery apps (they are) so not only will we be back but we will also be ordering delivery. I've already recommended to my friends, it's that good!

For AYCE omakase, this place gives you a good value and variety. You get to choose from apps like karage, tempura, takotaki to udon to nigiri, Fish was fresh and flavorful. Services was amazing because it's a pretty small restaurant with only a few tables. So definitely recommend getting a reservation: Price is $100 per person but also comes with 3 sample sake or 1 beer.

My partner and I did their Omakase and AYCE option for our anniversary and absolutely loved it! The place is small and has limited seating so I would recommend making a reservation before going in. It is decorated very nicely and has an intimate feel to it. Their Omakase option came with a flight of sake and a wide variety of rolls and sides that were so so so fresh and so well curated. I tried fishes I've never tried before. The staff was also very knowledgeable about every single item that was served and answered all our questions happily. After the omakase was over, we were pretty full but wanted to try some items from their AYCE menu.

    Jidapa A.

The restaurant has such a beautiful interior -- I especially loved the flowers hanging from the ceiling. I tried the $100 omakase course today. It started with a miso soup with crab meat, followed by 8 pieces of nigiri, then a chawanmushi (steamed egg), and another 3 pieces of nigiri to finish. For me, the quality was just okay -- not amazing, but decent. However, the fact that they offer all-you-can-eat after the course makes it a great value for anyone who can eat a lot! The staff were very attentive and kept checking if I wanted to order more. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. Including 3 glasses of sake.

I was looking for food nearby and came across this restaurant. The food was surprisingly delicious! We ordered the chicken katsu curry, kama-age udon (hokkai miso soup), and the kama-meshi seafood. The chicken katsu was cooked perfectly: crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside! The sauce also was the perfect texture and taste. My favorite was the kama-age udon with the hokkai miso soup. I love udon but sometimes don't like how thick it is because it fills you up faster and is harder to digest, the udon here is thinner which I fell in love with! It's soft and chewy and the perfect thickness: you dip it on the soup when you eat it. I also loved the soup, I usually have leftover soup when eat noodles, but I finished every last sip! Definitely recommend this dish if you were to only order one item! We also ordered the kama-meshi seafood. I thought this one tasted okay! The flavors of the seafood come through, but I personally like stronger and heavier flavors. It was worth a try! Parking: This restaurant is in downtown portland so it was difficult to find parking. We ended up parking at a nearby garage and paid for parking. They do have a few street parking spots near the restaurant if you want to test your luck! Seating and service: We were seated really quickly as we went on a weekday! They have several tables and a large table that can be reserved as well as bar spots. The restaurant overall looks really nice and is pretty spacious. The servers were really nice and fast to get you what you need! A side note: they have heated toilet seats in their restroom so that's always a plus!

Highlights were definitely the: -otoro (5 pcs ~$25) -salmon medley (salmon belly and 3 other cuts) -scallop nigiri -karaage (5 pcs for $8.99) *pro tip to add their house negi sauce $1 or spicy mayo $0.50 -agedashi tofu (fried tofu) -wagyu beef skewer $8.50 -citrus YTG roll ($15) so refreshing with hamachi (yellowtail), tempura flakes, and a house jalapeño ponzu sauce ! The service was wonderful--the staff were mostly Japanese and very kind--and the portions for the dinner sets were generous for the price. However, the quality of the sushi felt like a standard neighborhood spot. The fish appeared to be pre-cut and frozen rather than freshly broken down in the kitchen. The biggest disappointment was the Hokkaido Uni. At $40 for two pieces ($20 each), I expected top-notch quality, but it sadly lacked freshness. The tempura was ordinary as well, though the complimentary amuse-bouche (tofu, broccoli, and asparagus) was surprisingly delicious.
