I have enjoyed food from Oishii Mika Sushi many times and everything is always delicious! Their veggie tempura bento is a favorite. It comes with rice, miso, salad, gyoza and fruit. The house ginger salad dressing is so good that I would buy it by the bottle if that were possible. Their avocado roll is another favorite. It has nice chunks of avocado not tiny pieces. Updated Review: I went here for lunch last week with a friend of mine when our original lunch spot was to full. We got a table quickly and right next to the fish tank and were very happy to have found such a neat place. This is one of those places that you can't really see in from the street at all so we were pleasantly surprised at how cute and cozy it is on the inside (and we loved the fish). The service was great and we were able to order and receive our food quickly. The sushi was good here and we were really happy to have found the place. We joked about eating sushi in front of fish but I think they weren't too overly offended. Overall it was a great place to have lunch on a weekday and we will definitely come here again! Oishii means taste good in Japanese. I figured it had to live up to the moniker. I got a bento with tonkotsu. Cooked really nice and a good size portion. The salad had a very garlicky gingery dressing. Kind of lingered on the palate in a not so awesome way afterwards. I got a tamago and creamy scallop sushi. I really love a house made tomago but unfortunately this was not. The creamy scallops is the kind where the scallop is minced. I really can't decide if I like this way better. Easier to chew but I think lesser quality. Rice seasoning was good but the sushi was a little too expensive. But that may just be 2024 talking. read more

The food is amazing, personally, I think it is the best sushi in Downtown Portland. My favorite item to get is the Godzilla Tempura Roll and the Chicken Katsu Curry Bento Box. It's delicious and executed well. Also, the service is top-notch. Appetizers come out before main dishes and dessert recommendations come out right after the main course is gone. Service/Ambiance - Three or four tables. The server was friendly but she was the only one that was friendly and forgot to give us chopsticks. The rest of the staff pretty much ignore you. They were also speaking to one another loudly in Chinese and Cantonese. At one point it sounded like they were arguing and one of the staff kept saying multiple times (and very loudly) that they were closing. Well you don't need to tell me twice. Stopped by during a visit in Portland. The food was good but the service was a little odd. We arrived about an hour before last call and felt a bit rushed. The waiters didn't seem too aware of their menu so it wasn't a smooth ordering process. One of the things we ordered that stood out was the Philadelphia roll. They make it with smoked salmon (we aren't use to that, and wouldn't recommend it if you don't like smoked fish). Can't attest to the ambiance obviously and not much about the service since we were not physically there but the plating was neat and it was prepared promptly. We ordered 2 large miso soup which are quite the bang for your buck at $5. They're probably about a quart of soup. We had the pepper tuna nigiri which tbh just alright but the unagi & creamy scallop hit the spot. Also had a dragon roll which was your run of the mill dragon roll like you'd get anywhere else but no complaints! Lastly we ordered 2 hand rolls, the spider & spicy hamachi which were both great, I'm always a big hand roll fan. Good portion, good flavor, and tasted fresh. Overall not a bad meal at all. Pretty much the only sushi spot open past 8pm in Portland on a Sunday. That's where they earned their single star. The online ordering was a bit strange, as it didn't follow the menu or descriptions from the original menu. We ordered cucumber salad, a crunch salmon roll, Hawaiian roll, a crab salad roll, hamachi and nama sake nigiri. No wasabi was given and, for our fairly large order, only a small lump of ginger. The cucumber salad was DISGUSTING. Just looking at it, you can see the cucumbers are almost transparent and soggy. Clearly the cucumbers were old. The crab was inedible, with the strongest fishy taste. The crunch salmon is cooked salmon, not at all as described on the menu. The hamachi tasted like canned tuna I wouldn't feed to a feral cat.
