Stayed in the area for a family event. The staff here is amazing. Everyone was so friendly and helpful!!! This place is a little dated it's going through a renovation, but it did not affect our stay at all. This little hotel has so many amenities. Pool, jacuzzi, gym, outdoor area, basketball hoop, foosball, ping pong. The room was comfortable and has a fridge and microwave. Breakfast was free and pretty good!!! Parking easy and free. Great location near freeway and a small strip mall and dope food trucks right behind the hotel within walking distance. read more

If you're a Person of Color looking for an inclusive and respectful stay -- this may not be the place for you. From the moment I arrived, I felt unwelcome. Amanda at the front desk treated me noticeably differently than other guests I saw her interact with -- cold, dismissive, and uninterested. The morning staff member (around 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.) went so far as to avoid eye contact and never acknowledged me -- no greeting, no "how was your stay," not even a "thank you" when I returned the room key. Meanwhile, I witnessed different treatment toward guests who do not look like me. As someone who grew up in California's Peninsula and attended high school and college in Napa, I'm unfortunately no stranger to discriminatory behavior. I recognize it when I see it, and this experience was a painful reminder that it persists -- even in professional spaces that should offer every guest dignity and respect. I am not seeking a generic apology or excuses. What I want is meaningful change. Every guest, regardless of appearance or background, deserves to be treated with courtesy, hospitality, and equality. I strongly encourage your team to invest in cultural competency and sensitivity training -- not just as a checkbox, but as a core standard of service. Also, I booked a room with a whirlpool tub (as stated in my confirmation email) but was given a standard room. When I brought this to the staff's attention, I was told the hotel had been remodeled and whirlpool tubs were no longer available. That information is still on some booking sites -- which is misleading and needs to be corrected. I forwarded my confirmation email as requested but never received a follow-up. Despite how uncomfortable I felt, I stayed because I had previously enjoyed this location -- great food nearby, and it once offered a truly relaxing experience. Sadly, this time was the opposite. I typically really like Hampton Inn, but this time, I was given a too and not told the fridge was not working. And dude not realize it until I went to put milk and other items in. It was late and I did not want to bother with getting another room. I was told I would be compensated for the inconvenience, but never was. Ya might want to ask if the fridge is working, just in case you get the room I had. Staff person was rather nonchalant. This won't stop me from going to other Hampton Inns though. read more

Did not have a chance to stay here because we racially profiled as soon as we arrived. We walked in and no one was at the counter. We waited about 2 minutes when the front desk phone began to ring. A man came from the back to answer the phone. He told us, "I will be right with you." He answered the phone and began taking booking information. We waited and the conversation continued. I had a good stay. My main issue was they were painting or something on my side of the building, so the window was taped off, it still let in light but I couldn't see out of it which made me feel a little claustrophobic. But the room was modern, clean, smart TV with Netflix, thermostat controlled hvac, good shower bed was decent, (medium comfort, what I expected for this hotel level) the hot part of the breakfast was gross but the pastries, oatmeal, yogurt was good. Did not try pool or gym. Service was fine. Area had a Sprouts, Target, and lots of places to eat, felt safe. I would definitely stay here again. read more

Stayed here a couple of times, decent experience. Checked in late at night and there was fruits coffee and hot water available in the lobby which was very nice. This staff at the front desk was friendly and was very helpful. The rooms in hotels a little bit older and the elevators kind of dirty. There is a small swimming pool inside the hotel and it is indoor so that's always nice. And there is a fitness room that opens until midnight. Overall easy stay. read more

The hotel is under construction which I did not know prior to booking because they did not disclose it on their website. The window in our room is completely covered due to the construction. The walls are very very thin, yes the highway is nearby but it's still very loud in our room which is in the side facing away from the highway. I went out to my car to get something and when I got back and was walking to the elevator I could hear people running on the 2nd floor! The room is clean but I wish I had known about the construction. read more

The location sucks honestly. There is nothing close by that you could do for entertainment or great quality restaurants then fast food. There is Amici Sushi and that I give a solid 10. Hotel seems like one of their older properties but is kept in great condition from what I see. It is the best hotel in the area and for us we have to work 10 miles away and is the closest we can get to. The staff seem very friendly and I have not experience bad service at all. They offer a manager reception during the week (NO beer). Breakfast looks great, waffles, fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs, sausage, pastries, and juice. They also leave PLENTY of apples and bananas out through out the day. Hotel also doesn't feel like its in the best area, which sorta concerns me when I stay here. There is a Denny across the street, it looks very old. Fast food they have KFC, Taco Bell, A&W, Mountain Mike and Mexican and Chinese food next door. Pretty quiet in the hotel in the evening and the internet service seems good and is free for guest staying here. read more

TL;DR at bottom Terrible customer service. A lady named Elizabeth answered the phone and from when she introduced herself i got the "unwelcome" vibe from the start. I started asking if they had a king room available as I saw one available online. She instantly said "i just sold my last one, but we have a 2 queen bedroom." I asked how much that was and she gave me a higher price than what was online. I asked if she could price match what i saw online and she basically told me no because those prices are for essential workers. She then asked me if i am an essential worker. (I actually am, but we dont have company ID's) she then said if i didn't have a company ID then I can't get that price.. i just told her never mind because of her tone and vibe. I didn't want to stay there after that conversation. I stayed there once before and didn't have that unfortunate customer service experience. Shortly after, i called Holiday Inn nearby and had a way better booking and price. I asked Holiday Inn if they were fully booked and she told me no, that they're not even at 50%... Idk about you reading this, but if I have a bad experience on the phone, my money is going elsewhere. TL;DR: Terrible customer service from Elizabeth. Hotel is in a sketchy area, but it's clean. Prices are above avg. I recommend at least looking at Holiday Inn online nearby. read more

Staying here during COVID I appreciate how clean everything was during our stay. The employees were also so friendly and helpful. The rooms are outdated. The AC unit is crazy loud, the bed was stiff and has seen better days, and one of the electrical socket covers were hanging by a thread to the wall. I did appreciate having a fridge in the room and there was good space. We got awoken by the hotel alarm clock that was failed to be shut off before our stay, ugh! Overall I give their COVID safety protocols a 9/10 (they didn't seem to be enforcing people entering with masks as I saw at least one person enter sans mask) read more

Wow! What a great way to kick off our vacation. We stayed one night at this hotel while on our way to Long Beach. When we were looking for a place to stay, our "musts" were fairly basic - enough sleeping room for Hunbyman, The Boy, and myself, and am indoor pool. While not a "must," the idea of breakfast being readily available on site was a definite plus. The King Suite at Hampton Inn was the perfect match for what we were seeking. We arrived at around 7pm and were greeted very warmly by the gal working at the front desk. Having already checked-in on the Hilton app, we were on our way to our room with key in hand very quickly. We had a King Suite room - a spacious room that had a sofa bed and small kitchenette area, along with the king bed. The room was very clean and decent water pressure in the shower, so I was pleased from the get-go. The indoor pool area was small but had an ample amount of chairs, tables, and loungers throughout the space, as well as a shelf well stocked with pool towels. They had a few pool noodles and beach balls available to be used by guests. The pool itself was small, and I can see how it could quickly get crowded with not many people. Lucky for is, we were the only guests using the pool, so we had plenty of room to splash and play. Back to the room for what ended up being a pretty decent night's sleep. I tend to have a really difficult time sleeping in hotels, so this was a pleasant surprise. The bed was fairly comfy, the pillows a little more "squishy" than I like, but still far better than I find most hotel beds to be. Morning treated us to a very nice assortment of tasty, fresh items to choose from for breakfast. The homemade waffle station was a hit for all three of us, and Hubbyman & The Boy reported the scrambled eggs (with ham and cheese) were very tasty. Unlike many hotels with breakfast included in the room rate, there was a nice, spacious area for dining, with what deemed to be a dedicated staff member to the area, keeping everything well-stocked and cleaned up. Checking out, we were again greeted with a genuine smile as we headed to the front desk.and were quickly on our way. Overall, our needs for this quick pit stop for the night were simple, but we wound up finding a bit of a gem along the way. I would certainly stay here again and would even consider them a front runner if I was for some reason looking for a hotel for a longer visit to the area. read more

Very nice Hampton in a NOT very nice area of California. The competitors around are sketch, to say the least. This Hampton was clean, friendly, and felt like a nice little oasis in this part of the world. The front desk folks were great. They were attentive and friendly when we checked in and quick with a smile. Awesome suggestions for dinner and took good care of us for our stay. The hotel was packed this night and they handled it marvelously. Breakfast was the typical Hampton breakfast which is reliable and good. Always appreciative to know where your breakfast is coming from to start the day. There isn't anything much else around this place in the way of hotels that I would even consider staying at. That being said, they still go out of their way to make sure the place is very clean, very friendly, and very nice. Thank you for that. read more

Seriously, screw this place. This past weekend I was on a drive from Portland back to LA and I had to leave super late, so I stopped in Redding for the night at 11:30pm. Except for some reason (weekend? COVID limits? more people traveling by car?) there were NO ROOMS available in Redding, nor at any subsequent hotel I called or stopped into along I-5. For HOURS. None of that is this hotel's fault. However, when I finally called this hotel early Sunday morning, DESPERATE for a place to stop safely and get some sleep, she told me they DID have a room available, only they wouldn't rent it to me because it was "after hours." Imagine being a motel on a major highway and telling a tired driver they can't pay FULL PRICE to sleep there. What's the difference to you as long as I check out before I'm supposed to? Seriously: I'm out here, stranded, tired as hell, unsafe, telling you I need a room and you're telling me you HAVE ONE AND I CAN'T HAVE IT? Literally go straight to Hell. And the person on the phone had a MAJOR attitude problem about it too. For someone working in HOSPITALITY you'd think they could provide some. I ended up buying two coffees and driving straight through to Los Angeles (14 hours, overnight) because she gave me no choice. She told me "No one else will rent you a room this late either." That can't possibly be true, but it sure made me not spend any more time checking. It made everything so much more stressful than it already was and it put me (and others sharing the road) in actual danger. In my wildest dreams I can't imagine why a hotel wouldn't let someone pay full price for something they'd essentially be using LESS of. If you have a choice in the future, AVOID THIS PLACE. I had to stop here for the night not knowing much about the area and after checking a few reviews I choose to stay at this location. I am very happy that I did. The hotel was very clean and the staff was nice, polite and helpful. Safety is a big priority for me and not once did I feel unsafe. The room I was in was very clean. There was no weird funky odor hotel rooms sometimes have. The restroom was clean. This was my first time staying at a Hampton Inn and I will definitely being staying at one in the future. This hotel was a seriously wonderful Surprise. Great staff, offered us bottled water when we checked in, super friendly and helpful. We had a king size room and it was huge and clean. Considering how close we were to the 5 FWY we couldn't hear anything. It was a sweltering day and the cool room was wonderful. Breakfast has scrambled eggs and potatoes, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, pastries and toast/bagels. Orange and other juices and 4 kinds of coffee decaf included. Afternoon cookies are never a bad idea. My room was comfortable, although the furniture was a bit outdated and could use a refresh. It had hot water with good pressure, functioning air conditioning, and was kept very clean by housekeeping. We made a reservation via the reservation line, upon arriving, our room was unavailable. We were still charged $198 and the Manager, Daisy, is unwilling to return our money, and uncooperative. As easy as the money was taken out, it can be returned. I have been jumping through hoops for the last 6 days over this, and Hilton Guest services is finally stepping in. This place will no longer receive our business, or any company that is here to visit (we are local and just wanted a night with no kids, so a staycation turned into something not worth it with the stress of trying to regain $200). When the Fiancé is town we always spend a few night here, since we're Diamond Elite we use points rather than pay out of pocket and due to that fact I always feel like we shouldn't complain. Though the past few experiences have been contentious. First,since we have Elite Status we're given certain items upon check in, such as candy, water, soda, snacks. Though the first few times we were not offered anything! Jeeze that sounds snobby. Second, the parking! OMG the worst. Especially when there are people there from BLD staying at the hotel! We came back around 9pm from dinner and there was no parking! The front desk told my fiancé to just park in the fire zone! Oh heck no! I did not want to wake up to my car towed, we ended up parking right in front of the door. I couldn't believe there wasn't a parking stall available, it was insane. Lastly, we reserve the room with the Jacuzzi tub every time we come. The last time we went a few weeks back, we did a last minute reservation literally right off a redeye flight. so we didn't get to use the tub that night. The following day we went to use it and the thing wouldn't start. We called the front desk who told us the other similar rooms were being used but could move us. Well that would be fine if I had a problem with the bed, or a smell but the tub was the main attraction and so we didn't move. They sent someone over to check it, and was really a buzz kill to our stay. I was very upset. We used 80,000 points for the two days in a room with a Jacuzzi tub but ended up with a regular room which we could've gotten from 40,000! I had the Fiancé call and let Hilton honors know of the situation, they were helpful and refunded us the difference in points but truly I would've just preferred one night in a room with the tub. PS. The tub is awesome if you're wondering why I am complaining so much about it. :P read more

Not too many choices when staying in Lathrop, this hotel is probably the best of all of them. Sometimes there are kids running around the halls, but what are you going to do. For this grade of hotels, I've had much better. PROS: - Clean. - The room was slightly more modern than the online pictures. The flat screen TV makes a big difference, I guess. - Indoor pool and whirlpool. CONS: - Pool is not heated well enough to be considered a heated pool. - Whirlpool felt lukewarm and didn't provide much relaxation. There was no way of increasing the heat either. - Comforters are cheap and had patchy clots of cotton in their sewn pouches making some areas thin and exposed to the cold, while other areas were heavy and weighed you down. - I didn't see any display of snacks in the late afternoon, as advertised online. - The waffle batter in the morning was really sour one morning. I made it twice and it was still sour. We told the woman working the breakfast station. She was very sweet. She assured us the batter was fresh, made us a waffle with the same batter, and told us she would change the batter for us if the one she made still tasted funny. It did still taste funny, but we were already full so we passed on the new batter. I didn't bother with the waffles the next morning. - The breakfast fruit salad was never fresh. I didn't have a horrible experience here. I can appreciate the amenities, but they just weren't done well. read more

Staff was friendly, place was clean. Pay attention to your charges! I was quoted one rate, never sent an email confirmation. When I called back to add an additional room I was told that first price was not available, I was quoted the wrong price. I had no email confirmation to confirm... Was told my email wasn't entered correctly. They bumped the price $10 per room, I said that's not what I agreed to but I'm not going to argue for $10 please send me a confirmation email. She gave me confirmation numbers over the phone, again never received any emails. My receipt was billed an additional $10 per room so $20 per room total extra from what I originally started with. When I called they said there was nothing they could do and I received email confirmations as well as it saying it on the paperwork when we signed in for the amount we actually paid. Considering we signed in after 1030 at night and a long day that was on me not to check, assumed I was being charged what I was quoted over the phone. That wasn't the case, so letting people know get something in writing or you can be overcharged. read more

They are very strict about the 10pm Quiet Time! This is their policy and it's in place to respect others' peace and quiet so there's nothing wrong with that. It just wasn't working for us. Our group was asked to vacate the outdoor area, then we were asked to leave the lobby/great room area and eventually we were threatened with calling the authorities. We were only talking (maybe some were a little louder than others) and hanging out while the kids watched TV and were very well behaved. Maybe if the walls weren't so thin the noise wouldn't affect the other guests who "apparently complained", or was it the other guests already hanging out in the lobby/great room area? The walls are way too thin! I heard just about EVERY SINGLE FOOTSTEP of the person above us! as well as other loud noises around us. I didn't want to complain, knowing the only option would be to pack up and move EVERYTHING to another room. Trying to sleep in a bit, was impossible. If I HAD to stay here again: 1) it would not be during a tournament or huge gathering of friends/family, as our peeps (and the kids) want to hang out afterwards and this is not the place to do it. 2) I would stay on the top/third floor and request a room at the end of the hall, without a room on both sides. The walls are way too thin. 3) I would not rely on having breakfast. The eggs were shaped like tiny SpongeBobs (my son's description) and potatoes weren't cooked all the way or if they were, then it was pretty gross. (there were other items that were probably good) I did like how: 1) they offer fruit all day/night; apples and bananas 2) they offer "breakfast to go" if you're in a hurry (I think this was only M-F) 3) Check-in was initiated over the phone since we were running a bit late and wanted to confirm we had a (good) room. 4) Check-out was quick. They had a receipt printed and ready to go! 5) the staff is friendly and very courteous. 6) they have a nice outdoor area with ping pong table and foosball? table. 7) the room was nice and clean, bed was very comfortable. 8) it's located close to restaurants. 9) it was reasonably priced and included breakfast. read more

This location gives the Hampton Inn a bad name. First off when we arrived we asked to be upgraded to a better room and the girl at the front desk, Trish, said that since we booked on line we couldn't pay the difference and get a upgraded room without paying for two rooms... never heard that before, so as we head to our room the hallway and corridor around the elevator had the strongest mold smell I have ever encountered. As we get to our door one of the keys didn't work, so we immediately go back to the front desk to get it re-keyed, and Trish starts going on about how we probably messed it up by putting it in our pocket or against a cell phone, basically blaming us for her not keying it correctly. Avoid the tiny indoor pool. The air is stagnant, musty, and hard to breath through. Their is no ventilation in there at all. It's like the bathroom after a long hot shower combined with chlorine smothering you. Lastly, the guest laundry... The washing machine smelled strongly of wet clothes left in a hot car for a week. Needless to say, we did not use it. Definitely won't be staying at this location ever again. read more
