Good quality hotel! The desk staff was extremely personable and friendly. Definitely a great asset for the hotel! The double queen suite was large and very clean. Nice snack room for goodies for the kids. My only cons was that 1. The pool wasn't heated - but then again who else but crazy kids would want to swim in 40 degree weather and 2. Could hear the kIds jumping in the room above us starting at 6. Next time will stay on the 3rd floor - easy for that. Would definitely stay here again if I was in the area. Pretty standard Hampton Inn but could use a refresh. The only elevator was broken and we had a third floor room. No other room available and no offer of help with our bags. Room was very warm and never really cooled down. Refrigerator had no freezer and was turned off. Room was clean and quiet. Breakfast was limited and go bags had water and two inedible pastries. My boyfriend and I visited McArthur Burney Falls and Lassen Volcanic National Park and stayed here for the night. It was a 1 hour, 15 minute drive from Lassen. This place was great. I've never been to Red Bluff, but this hotel made our brief stay enjoyable. The woman at the front desk was all smiles when we checked in. She even told us to come back out to the lobby once we settled in to have some freshly baked cookies (which she baked herself)! In short: -The room was clean -The room was equipped with a microwave and mini fridge -Bathroom was equipped with a little vanity kit, makeup remover and if you forgot any travel essentials (toothbrush, razor, etc) the front desk has you covered -The wifi was strong -You might hear the train every now and then since it's close to the train tracks -Various restaurants within 5-10 minute drives -Complimentary breakfast with good variation served 6am-10am daily (eggs, bacon, toast, pastries, waffles, yogurt, cereal, granola, fruits, juices and milk) -Big parking lot -Great service read more

We were working a job locally and needed a place to crash for the evening. We called in at 11pm and Marcus pleasantly answered the phone to book our rooms for the night. We got in around 3:30am and Marcus had our keys waiting there ready at the desk. He greeted us by name with a huge smile. He was extremely friendly and accommodating. He went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. I'm a Hilton gold member and travel a lot. I only disclosed this after our interaction to add our member number to the room so it wasn't a preferred status thing. I had to cancel reservations because of car trouble. I made reservations for rooms on the same day 5 hours prior to calling For cancellation. The manager told me they needed 24 hours notice to cancel reservation without penalty. I asked if there was any concession because of our circumstances She promised to speak with owner to see if there was anything that could be done. Yep, you guessed it she never called back. I called the following week and she again promised to check with owner. I never received any contact after that other than my credit card was charged for the 2 rooms. Having been a loyal Hilton Honors for many years I find this type of customer service at Red Bluff Hampton inn appalling. We spent three nights at the Hampton Inn and enjoyed our stay, using the hotel as a base camp for our two-day visit to Lassen Volcanic National Park. It's a nice hotel. We had everything we needed in our room, including a microwave and fridge. The A/C unit was whisper quiet. Housekeeping service was very good. The free breakfast is quite good with an amazingly decent variety of options. Though not terribly far from I-5, we didn't get freeway noise in our room. Red Bluff is a pretty small town (14,000 people), but there are a number of good restaurant options nearby. However, in a couple-mile radius of the Hampton Inn, nary a grocery store could be found. 4.5 stars rounded up to a full 5 stars. read more

Noisy. Stayed on a Friday night on the second floor. All night long you could hear stomping feet from the ceiling and occasional drop of what sounded like furniture being dropped. Okay ... this is how you run a Hampton Inn. The young lady working the desk on the afternoon of June 29th (Rebecca? ... terrible memory for names) was awesome ... friendly, helpful, and efficient. And she took special care to hold us a top-floor room as requested in our on-line reservation. *** Aside ... is building crappy, noisy hotels then charging extra for top-floor rooms a new scam? For the first time I ever recall seeing it, the other day the Hilton Garden Inn in Redding, CA offered me a top floor room for an extra ten bucks. As it turns out, I'm really glad we checked Red Bluff just down the road. *** The room was clean and quiet. The shower had serious water pressure. They offered us a nice social hour with food and a free wine or beer beverage ... on a Sunday evening no less. And this is one of the nicest views (oaks and meadow) we've had in any hotel. One oddity ... I think this is the only Hampton Inn we've been to that still offered smoking rooms. Rebecca said they're phasing them out, but on the third floor there's a pretty strong whiff of old tobacco in the hallway. As Roland Deschain puts it, when it comes to indoor smoking, the world has moved on my friends. Another first for us ... there appear to be a row of camper/RV slots in the parking lot. Whatever it takes to pay the bills I reckon. ;-) *** Here's an idea for the jokers who run the Hampton Inn in Medford, OR. Reserve a room here incognito. Imagine your car has broken down and it's the only place to stay within 100 miles...you'd love this place. But, if you're looking for a clean and comfortable place to crash while wending your way south, this is disappointing. First, cleanliness: The lobby was full of unmasked cowboy hat wearing people on their way to the Bull and Gelding Sale. Some won't make it. It has those disgusting shiny bedspreads that make you wonder if they're really clean and the sheets don't fold over them so you constantly find them creeping over your face. The room was basically clean but worn and the grout was stained Dog friendiness: Yes and no. Dogs are welcome but there is no place to walk the dog. The hotel is surrounded by those sharp white rocks. read more

I haven't reviewed a hotel before, but this is the third Hampton Inn I've stayed in during the pandemic: Louisiana and Washington other two. Washington and Cali were both remodeled and had same interiors and layout. Nice sized rooms and very comfortable. However, this one does not compare in any other ways - we hear our neighbors! Crazy loud coming from above. I am bummed, as I requested a upper floor during online check in - and got first floor, even though I told them I'd be arriving late. I like being up when traveling alone. No movie channels, Netflix doesn't work and today is a work day and planned on working in room this morning and cannot. I am a long time Honors member and have not paid for WiFi ever and will not today. Parking is lacking and I had to park down in a weird section of their lot with lots of machinery. Traveling as a single woman, with a child and having all of these safely issues doesn't make me too happy. read more

Ashley rocks! She was so accommodating to us even at 2am when we walked in sleepy eyed requesting a room. We were able to get a discount using our AAA card and being a HiltonHonors member, made our stay that much sweeter. Woo hoo, points! I have to say, I did get a little flack for choosing a hotel at a higher price point but I didn't want to give up the luxury factor that I knew Hampton could deliver compared to the other hotels along Main St. This hotel would be considered pricey for the area. But by the end of our trip my husband was very impressed and I couldn't get enough of him saying how great our stay was. The ammenities more than made up for it. *Pat on the back, thank you.* Our rooms had stunning views of the alfalfa fields out back. Our beds were comfortable, room was clean, and service was exceptional. A dip in the heated outdoor pool overlooking the fields was dreamy and a great way to start your morning. Oh, and did I mention they have free Wi-Fi too! You know how I love free wi-fi. A generous continental breakfast was offered and Maria is an amazing host. She does a great job of taking care of her guests. The spread was good and better than your average continental breakfast of bagels, coffee, and cold cereal. The other guests couldn't have looked more happier and well rested. I highly recommend this hotel if you're in the area. I had not one bad thing to say about this hotel and its crew. A solid 5 star stay. Note: I overheard some ladies waiting on shuttle service from the hotel to SMF one morning which I can't confirm if it was set up by the hotel or an outside servicer. We have stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites Red Bluff many times traveling from Southern California to Oregon. After out recent stay, we won't stay there again. The rooms were repainted in a very dark gray. It felt like you were walking into a dark prison cell. The furniture has been updated and it's not for the better. They have removed 2 of the normal 6 lights in the room and it was impossible to see your stuff on the dresser housing the mini fridge and TV. The internet would only stay online for about 5 - 10 min at a time, if you were lucky. We had a person staying on the floor above us for the first time and laid in bed listening to them walk around until they went to bed. This review has nothing to do with Covid. The staff was great, checking us in and out. The problem was simply we needed a good nights sleep and didn't get one. read more

This hotel put me in a room with an active leak coming down from the room below, a broken shower that had to be repaired and several items missing from my toiletry bag during my stay. I booked via Priceline and asked kindly for a refund. Their Manager - Heather Goss was very friendly and accommodating in person but when I called to follow up with the status of my refund she told me my refund was declined by the owners and too bad for me. Horrible customer service and horrible representation of Hilton by these owners. I deserve a refund for the awful experience staying at this hotel. read more

Even though there was a bit of a mix-up with my hotel reservation, all ended up being okay. Luckily, I was pretty pro-active and adamant about getting the room that I paid for via the HHonors website. First, I was put in a room with a king-sized bed, when I requested for a 2 queen bed room with a sofabed. Because they did not have anymore of those, I ended up in a 2 queen bed room, which I was okay with. In the room was a mini fridge + a microwave. The room was large enough to get all of our luggage in there and organize it all for the next several days of traveling. In the morning, they have a full breakfast for those that love the traditional American (heavy) breakfast that consists of waffles, eggs, bacon, oatmeal and more. The kiddos will definitely enjoy the make-your-own-waffle bar and more. There was plenty of seating areas for those with several folks in their party. I wish I got to enjoy the pool area a bit because it seemed so relaxing out there in the outdoor area. They offered free parking and it was in close proximity to stores and restaurants in the area. If you need to get outta there in a hurry, no worries because the interstate is not too far away. Hampton Inn is not always my 1st choice of the Hilton properties, but will sometimes do, when there aren't too many other options available. read more

I've been through Red Bluff on my way home to the mountains up in Hayfork dozens of times, and I've heard HORROR stories from hitchhikers and others about the other motels down along the main strip in Red Bluff. Meth heaven. So paying $85 for the meth corridor or paying $100 for something sane is worth the extra $10 to $20..... Yeah, we're living in a world where crazy-dangerous-party 'till you drop motel neighbors are gonna cost you $90 a night on a regular basis. Anyhow, I had a little extra gingle in my pocket, and wanted to feel comfy, safe, and clean, so I hit this motel (knowing that it's right before the Highway 36 turnoff.....). I pulled in around 9:30 PM, so the lot was already full of government and state rate folks there on biz-ness. The clerk asked me for any discounts right off the bat, and she actually knocked off $10 to start, based on the fact that I'm working on my Dad's recent accident and that he has AAA coverage. Distant connection, but she was willing to go for it. I realize that at 9:30 PM, they didn't have a lot of beds left, so I only got $10. If I'd've been sharper, I'd've probably gotten $20 off. But that actually would have taken proof...... And I was so burnt out that I actually had Kentucky Fried Chicken with me for dinner. So -- I didn't hear trains from my room, or the freeway, but I didn't open the window (which is openable). I was cool enough, but it was a really cold night, so no window-unit air conditioning was needed. I can live with white noise, so I was totally okay. I didn't hear the trains, because I was on the opposite side of the building from them. The walls are fairly thin, and the people behind me talked until about 10 PM, but I didn't care. So be aware of this issue and maybe check this issue out before you get your room. Stay away from babies.... It has WiFi. It was very, very clean. The bed was a little bit hard, and the pillows kind of sucked, but I survived. I usually bring in my own pillows, so I'm spoiled. There were enough blankets, and the comforter was actually fluffy. Hm. Breakfast looked good, but I'm not a breakfast person, so I passed on it. Try and negotiate a lower price. I probably could have, but I was unprepared. read more

This is a very nice hotel. The rooms are nice and clean. A few friends and I stayed in a double Queen sized room which had a new flat screen tv, a desk with a chair, small fridge, and microwave. The room was nice and clean. The beds seemed on the newer side. The room had a new fresh feeling to it. Down stars near the lobby is a small workout room with 3 cardio machines. Since it was a hot day my friends and I enjoyed the pool in the back which over looks a nice grass field. The next day we had to leave early, so we went down stairs to try out their complimentary breakfast. They had cheese omelets, sausage, oatmeal, toast, yogurt and other breakfast goodies. Next time I'm in the area I will defiantly stay here again. read more

I've stayed at this location 4-5 times. However after this recent stay, I doubt I will return due to large dog and extremely loud family placed in room above us. After 12 hours of traveling with my children, we decided to stay at the Hampton Inn after my 8 year old had suddenly become sick on our trip. I pulled up to the hotel entrance and was surprised to see at least 40 motorcycles on each side of the front entrance blocking the ability to safely pull in. I drive a traverse which is extremely wide and I was not able to pull in I as I usually would. I backed my vehicle over to the only available spots, at the far end of the parking lot. I usually would be able to have my children in the car while I checked in, and then be able to unload. We all walked into the lobby. The front desk staff was busy, but not checking anyone she was on the phone. It took an entire 30 minutes + for her to help me. I stood up a counter for a good 10 minutes while she told me about she was busy but would help me as soon as she was finished. I commented about not being able to pull in to the front entrance, and was told that the manager had allowed for motorcycles to be parked there, however they were not aware that there would be so many motorcycles lined up against the entrance sides. Once checked into our room, less than an hour I've been in there we heard some extremely loud thumping and barking upstairs. I gave it about 30 minutes and as it was not quieting down, I called down to the front desk with my concern about the loud noises. I let the staff know that we had stopped because I had a sick child, and was really in need of a quiet room. I asked if it was possible to move rooms, which I should have been given the option of. The front desk staff responded that wasn't possible but that they would send maintenance to the room above me to ask them to quiet down. The family was so loud that I could hear them as I took the elevator down to the first floor. They had a dog with them that clearly was not a service dog and was on a leash but a large dog of at least 40 pounds. While i was on the second floor i could hear yelling and squabbling of the younger children and who was supposed to be holding the dogs leash. 2 hours later I called down again to the front desk again. I did not want to be put in the position of having to repeatedly call and the noise was not subsiding. It was extremely loud stomping and at some point it seemed very intentional and aggressive as if they were stomping on the floor purposely. You card clearly hear the children playing and rolling around with the dog on the floor and it sounded like bowling balls being thrown around the top of our ceiling. During my second call, the front desk staff became extremely rude and hostile. She asked, "are you heading loud noise right now? Because the entire party that is staying on the floor above you is standing directly in front of me. So I don't know how you hear that noise right now". Instead of being willing to address my second complaint, she got extremely defensive and responded that it was not possible that I was still hearing noise 2 hours later. We tried our best to get some as the loud noises continue through the night. The next a.m. I called back down again around 8 A.M. due to the loud barking and excessive noise. It was a new front desk staff, that dismissed the concerns as the family must be packing and that's why they are being so loud. It's unfortunate that after three calls made, concerns were never properly addressed. I really would have liked to be in touch with the manager about this as we have never had any issues about staying here in the past. However due to the lack of professionalism and training, we will choose another hotel next time we are in the area and need to stop. Hampton Inn has a 100% satisfaction guarantee policy that they will make things right. I've never had to call down to complain I was just how tall has always been very quiet. My initial request to be moved to a different room was not honored. Two additional complaint calls made did nothing to change the situation. I left way more exhausted then when I arrived. It's disappointing and frustrating that my concerns as a test were dismissed and not properly addressed by staff. read more

Best hotel in Red Bluff. That's no saying much, as Red Bluff not exactly a resort town. I suppose it's not the hotel's fault, but the damn train comes roaring through town at like 90 miles an hour. This seems to happen roughly every twenty minutes. I though for sure a train had derailed once, from the screams of tortured steel and pounding diesel engines. I huddled under my blanket, waiting for the flash of exploding fuel and flying rail cars. But, somehow the whole fandango of chaos went thumping into the night. Understand the relativity of this rating - this hotel is 5 stars FOR ITS CLASS. There are many contenders in the mid-priced range, and so far this is absolutely the best one we've stayed at. It is far superior to the Best Westerns and Holiday Inn Express hotels, although it is in the same price range. This hotel was much nicer inside than we were expecting. The room was very large, the bathroom was wonderful. It's new, so very clean and updated. Decor was a step above the usual 'bland and boring', and the Net was very fast as others have reported. In addition, this is close to Los Mariachis - an incredible (and cheap!) place to eat! The seafood dishes at Los Mariachis are better than places costing three times as much in the San Francisco Bay Area, where we live and dine out regularly. If you are driving on I-5, this is one of the best places to stop for the evening, bar none. read more

The rooms have internet hookup as well as wi-fi. Rooms have been updated. Breakfast is ok. The coffee was very good at the breakfast buffet. I was surprised at the quality of the coffee. Starbucks is across the street, as is Tai Deli and Burrito Bandito. HIGHLY recommend this Hampton if you are in this area. read more

Have always had a great experience here until recently. Passed through on a long road trip to get some much needed rest. Our room thermostat wouldn't kick on so it was warm. We listend to whoever was over us sound like they were moveing furniture around for two hours. Called the front desk and was assured they would take to other people on third floor and could have someone look at the thermostat but no idea how long it would take. *Awesome* Called desk again a couple hours later that no change in upstairs noise. It finally died down after midnight, but started again at 3:30 am. Upon checkout I got a half hearted apology. This place sure has taken a turn for the worse, not sure we'll be back. Too bad because it was an affordable decent place to stay but this left a terrible taste in our mouth. read more

My fiancé and I were planning on staying in Redding, CA, on our road trip, but when we called ahead to find that they had no vacancies, we quickly found this Hampton Inn in Red Bluff. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that the price here was a much better deal than similar hotels in Redding. We had a great experience here. The customer service was top notch. Jessie upgraded our room for us, and we were impressed with it. Our room was super spacious, and the Wi-Fi was good. The complementary breakfast had a nice variety of food. I could rate this higher due to the area and the lack of reasonable offerings in the area. It really is a very nice hotel. It's super clean, lots of space, reasonable amenities. 1) The gym has 3 cardio machines, all in some state of disrepair. The treadmill is jerky and loud enough to drown out the TV at its highest reasonable volume, the bike seat leans forward, and the elliptical squeals like you are killing it on any setting. They are arranged in a row facing a really nice Sony Bravia tv. Kudos for the entertainment there. It would have been nice to lose one of the poorly kept up machines, and replace it with a bench and some loose weights. 2) The bed appears to be fabulous, but did not lend itself to me having a good night sleep at all. 3) Leaving the window open (kudos on being able to open the window!!) you can hear the freeway noises which isn't bad in the day, but at night this does not lend itself for sleeping well. Also, I don't know what folks were doing up at 3-4 am talking, but you can hear them with the window open. They do have AC but it's a window unit controlled by a wall unit. It's ridiculously loud. Also if you have it low, and then try to turn it off by turning up the temp, the heat comes on and the heat has that burning dust smell. Yuck. 4) The toilet paper IS the cheap version.. very scratchy on the delicate parts! The bathtub is deep (though not long), but hey that's great. Water feels deliciously good! The breakfast buffet includes eggs, sausage, toast, muffins, oranges, apples, fruit mix, yogurt (Yoplait light and regular), cereal, coffee, and tea. You can get access to the coffee/tea/hot chocolate all day, as well as fresh made cookies in the lobby. They also have a breakfast on the go option if you don't have time to sit and wait. They do have free internet service, and a pool! Lots of kids so I didn't partake in the pool. I did not see a hot tub which would have been nice, although the temp outside at 10am was pretty hot as it was. Overall it was a pretty good experience. If you are planning a trip through the area it's a reasonable place to stay, but don't go out of the way to come here. read more
