Breakfast for free! A little bit of everything

Welcome to the Waco Hampton Inn! Located close to I-35 and downtown Waco! Lots to do out there n restaurants on every corner! The rooms are clean, well decorated and classy. Quiet music plays in the dining room. Nice atmosphere for having a quiet breakfast before starting our day! We had waffles n fresh fruit/nuts this am. We are Hilton family fans! Always love our stays here!

    Furniture was disgusting

I have never left a one star review for a Hampton Inn nor have I ever walked out of one before now. The smell in the hallway walking to the room wasnt pleasant, but the smell with our first steps into the room practically knocked me out! I refused to take off my shoes for starters. I tried to humor my husband since it was late and turned on the AC trying to get rid of the horrendous smell. Then I started to cough and I couldn't take a deep breathe. The only other time I had this type of reaction was to a severely moldy basement in a house we looked at. Not only was this carpet totally disgusting, but notice in the photos how it looks as if nothing had been dusted or cleaned. The final straw was the gross pillow case. The girl at the front desk did kindly offer us another recently updated room. Not wanting to be difficult, we checked it out. The carpet was definitely better- but I've included photos of that room too. You can see the curtains looked like someone puked on them. And this was supposedly the clean updated room! The Vent also was gross, blowing cool air over who knows what. This place needs to be shut down until they get their act together.

Unfortunately, we have to stay here again because of the game. And any place better is already full. This room was so much cleaner and in better shape than 405. The mattress however you can feel ever spring! They have actually mowed the weeds...it's just dead grass and short weeds!!! The TV is fine but the remotes are a total joke!!! Turn the TV on and the DirecTV guide poos up...that would be great if they even had DirecTV. The hotel uses Dish and all channels are in standard definition on a HD TV nothing clear.

Being a Hilton Awards member I pre booked my 3-night stay for this hotel. Upon arrival, I was told the room I had picked out on line was not available because the hotel does not have digital locks. So, they offered to upgrade my room. The room upgrade was NOT an upgrade. A larger room yes - but the jacuzzi tub was out of order. The ice machine on the 4th floor was out of order. The light above the sink did not work. I reported this to the front desk and it was never addressed. The "ICE" on the cake was the heater in the room was not functioning correctly and I woke up to a room temperature of 62 degrees. VERY - VERY disappointed in this stay. There are other Hilton properties available in Waco - I suggest you choose wisely.

Stayed here for two days, Fourth of July and the fifth, with my wife. We arrived after driving 10 hours across Texas on our way to Galveston. On the outside the hotel is gorgeous. The lobby and reception area was immaculate and well-kept. Edward, the desk man, was helpful, professional, and courteous. Walking into our room, it was very lovely as well. We started unpacking and settling in for two days. It was then we found the condition of the shower floor. Disgusting! Additionally there was no soapdish and no suitcase stand in the room. We went to tell Edward about the conditions and he was somewhat apologetic and offered us 50% off the nightly rate. He remarked that the Suitcase stands were no longer standard but would inform housekeeping to get us a soapdish and tend to the shower floor. After being out and about for the day we came back and found a shower floor in the same condition and no soapdish. As we went out to dinner, we stopped and talk to Edward again about the two items and also explain that we bought shower shoes in order to use the shower. After returning from dinner we were pleasantly surprised that we did have a soapdish; however, the shower floor was still in the same condition. All in all we love Hilton properties, however I wish this Hampton Inn would've attended to the shower cleanliness a bit better. This stay could've been great, but because of the shower floor it's only average.

Nice and clean hotel located behind a large shopping area. Hotel is conveniently located off the major highway and had lots of restaurants and eatery near the hotel. Friendly staff. Hotel offers social hour from 5:30-7pm with beer, wine and appetizers.Complimentary breakfast is served in the morning. Hotel had all amenities such as pool, hot tub and fitness room and offers free wi-fi.

Worst reception ever. Will never stay here again. After traveling for 8 hours coming to this type of service is bad. Stay away.

It is really close to the Silos and parking here will save you the $10 Silo parking fee. There is not always someone at the desk, nor does the phone always get answered. BUT, the hotel has EXCELLENT communication. We received a text before checking in with all the info we needed. Then, advice to text if we needed anything. Actually we sent a few texts that were IMMEDIATELY answered. Impressive! Even in the largest of other hotels, it can take some time to get a real person. We were immediately texted when we had a question about parking, then accessing the room, and others. I read on one review that there are about 10 parking spots. Actually, there are probably 25 to 30 in the lot. We found that we could park in the lot with no issues at various times. NOTE: Some spots are marked with "Reserved Parking". I asked the hotel and they related that hotel guests can park in those spots. We were told about possible train noise. We did hear it a few times, but it wasn't bothersome. In fact, there were ear plugs in a black pouch in the bathroom should this be an issue. There was also live music in the 4th floor bar until midnight. We could hardly hear it & we were on the 4th floor as well. BTW, there are superior views of the silos from the rooftop and other places in the hotel.

It is designed extremely well for a boutique hotel, and appointed nicely. What's it near? It's DIRECTLY next to the Dr Pepper Museum. It's only a five-min walk to Magnolia: Chip & Jo Gaines' shopping area. But, do NOT come here for the "breakfast bites", which is their substitution for breakfast. Sadly, there are only 2 breakfast foods, both bad for you: cereal laden with sugar & yogurt laden with sugar. And, for a boutique hotel, there was a lack of coffee. Yes, there was a coffee maker in the room with 2 pods for us, but no creamer. It was on another floor. We were here 2 nights, and the pods weren't replaced. No coffee the next morning and nowhere in the hotel to get some complementary coffee. That was odd because almost every hotel has coffee, some 24 hrs a day (Holiday Inn, etc). In summation, the location couldn't be beat. Check in was smooth with Courtney at the front desk. We would have never found this hotel were it not for a Travelzoo offer.

AC shut completely off and the thermostat switched to a green "smart/environmental mode" message…read more The second it detected movement from me, the message disappeared and the AC immediately kicked back on. So naturally I called the front desk. That's when the comedy started. I was told the hotel has been having "backup generator issues all day" affecting the AC. Interesting considering the entire city of Waco has had zero widespread power issues today. I actually laughed out loud when she said it. Then I asked for a simple box fan. They had none. Ironically, placing a fan where the thermostat sensor detects motion would likely keep the AC from shutting off in the first place. What really sealed it was when I was told:"There is no motion sensor on the thermostat." ...immediately followed by an offer to move me to "a room with AC." Wait -- I thought the issue was the generators? And if there's no occupancy sensor, why did the AC magically turn back on the second movement was detected? The proof is literally on the thermostat screen. I don't mind problems. Hotels have issues sometimes. I DO mind being insulted with explanations that make absolutely no sense. Just be honest with guests instead of making up stories that fall apart in thirty seconds.
