I would give this place a solid 4.5 Stars. The workers are nice, check in was a breeze, there is plenty of parking, and they have a pretty tasty breakfast in the morning! They always have free coffee and bottles of water handy in the lobby as well. There is a pool but no jacuzzi and they have a fridge and microwave but there's no little freezer part, which sucked because my ice cream melted. The beds are comfy and the room darkening shades are GREAT. There is a gas station right next door, which is convenient as well! The only things that I can criticize are that the wifi wasn't working and my phone reception was pretty shotty, I wish the fridge had a freezer too, and the lights in the room are all lamp lights, it would be nice to have better lighting. I will stay here again if I'm in town! read more

Rooms SUCK! 2 nights stay in march temp outside is 45 degrees with my the hotel room having two windows and continuous AC , the room never got below 75 degrees. The beds have heavy thick comforters and small sheet ideal for the cold, not for this summer feeling hotel. The couches/ seats extremely uncomfortable, tv at max volume is hard to hear even 3 feet away. The room fridge never got my drinks cold. And the WORST thing about this place. MOTION SENSOR LIGHTS!! Who the F thought it would be a good idea to install the brightest of lights in the bathroom and ONLY having motion sensor switches. Waking up at 3 to use the restroom you're immediately blinded! My mom and I entered this hotel yesterday evening and we roamed around the front trying to get information about your hotel. We stood around asking if anyone was there and nobody even looked at us. I grabbed a bottle of water before walking out and finally, from around the corner comes your employee named Jesus. He was chewing food and seemed bothered that we interrupted his snack! I was trying to book information for a wedding that we're having in our family and I wanted information regarding room prices and amenities, but he was very short with me and seemed very put out that he had to check prices and give me some quotes. I am a connoisseur of hotels as I travel a lot for work and I am so glad that we are Marriott guests. I have never been treated like this in a Marriott property. I think if you're going to work front desk, specially in the evenings, you should be a little more kind to people just walking in trying to find information about your hotel. I am a Yelp affiliate and it is my job to review people and so you never know who's gonna be walking in to your property and the guests and our voices are the most important in the business because if the guests aren't happy the hotel isn't doing well. I was disappointed that after spending $777.00 for 2 nights, that I had to drink coffee out of a paper cup... if I hotel charges $350/ night one would expect a glass for drinks and a ceramic cup for coffee. While the rooms were spacious.... the lighting was limited. The hotel was clean and staff were friendly! Breakfast was basic, again, paper plates and plastic! it's a great location to Monterey Bay Academy. While I didn't check, other people said the hotel upped its rates for Alumni Weekend. it appears they charge high rates but don't provide high level services! read more

We stayed here on our trip to Monterey. While we ordered a room with 2 queen size beds, there was no room to really walk around. The room looked bigger in the photos, but quite small. Did like the Barn style bathroom door which was a different twist. And I liked the greeting on the TV screen. Other than that the room was average The breakfast buffet was ok, not spectacular. My family stayed here for 3 nights. It is clean and met my expectations. My family took advantage of the indoor pool. There was always pool towels available. The complimentary breakfast is decent. Spent 2 nights midweek here with a friend who requires an accessible room. This seems to be a recently built hotel so it is still in pretty good shape overall. Apparently there are 3 rooms made for wheelchairs, all facing the freeway side. The room was well designed for wheelchair access, with pegs to hang things placed ow, beside table without legs to be able to pull a chair up to, low placed rod in the closet to hang up clothes, drawers, refrigerator and microwave set low for access. It is easy to access off Rt. 1 in Watsonville, but thankfully located a block away from the highway and behind a building with a drive through Starbucks. There are two gas stations nearby with mini marts, so it makes a great travel stopover. I didn't love the breakfast - it was very basic, very starch-based (bread, waffles, potatoes and they had no plant based milks for the coffee or the cereal. We were impressed how generally quiet the room was. We appreciated that the window opens for fresh air when it's nice outside. Heat and air conditioning worked fine. Also great that it is dog friendly for a set fee, our dog enjoyed the place although we didn't use the area out back as it was too muddy in the winter. Service was good, they helped us with an issue with the initial reservation and addressed a minor housekeeping issue immediately. There is a pool we didn't use and a good sized fitness center as well as a meeting room for use. There is a covered smoking area out back to help smokers when it is pouring with rain. For some reason in our room, 416, there was a blind on the window to close for privacy but no curtain to block out light. With the bright Starbucks and gas stations signs on all night, it means the room is quite bright, we were glad we brought our eye masks to block the light. One of the beds seemed much newer than the other, the one I had was lumpy and not very comfortable. Overall a good value and a modern building with good accessible rooms. read more

Our first time at this newer facility and it didn't disappoint. There were a bunch of us that took advantage of a room block for a glitzy Eventscapes wedding nearby. Spotlessly clean, free and easy parking and the staff was top shelf. Breakfast was nice and it included, bagels, juices, waffles, little omelets, fruits, breads and other pastries, cereals and oatmeal. The coffee choices saved me from going next door to Starbucks. They've got a indoor heated pool too! I will definitely recommend this location to others and stay here again. Our host Bridget S. could not have been more accommodating. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE. This hotel was absolutely awful. We were traveling because we just got word that my grandfather was dying, and my mom is disabled. She booked a mobility access room. We had to move up our trip, and we were told by the hotel that the room we originally booked and paid for was available for the extra nights. When we got the confirmation email, they pulled a bait and switch on us for the first time this trip. They gave us a HEARING accessible room. So we called again, and we were told that it was switched to the room we paid for: a mobility access room with a sofa bed. We get to the hotel after driving 6+ hours, and we get a hearing accessible room with no sofa bed. This is the cheapest room they offered, and we paid for a room that was almost $100 more expensive. We go down to the front desk, and the guy tried to gaslight us into thinking we booked the wrong room. We were then told that the hotel was sold out and that they didn't have the room we paid for. But after calling corporate, suddenly there was a room available because "someone just left." This was at 10 at night, so no one left, and even if they did, housekeeping wouldn't clean the room until morning. We get to this room, and there is feces all over the walls and bathroom floor. It was clear that the room hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Hampton Inn is usually great. So if you want to be given a room that is cheaper than what you paid for, or think poop covered walls is acceptable, go ahead and stay here. Sad to know the owner of this hotel sucks as bad as they do. read more

Nice little spot! I booked super last minute when I didn't want to deal with driving the windy roads in the rain again. It was such a relief that this was nearby and was one of the modern HIs, clean and fresh. There's a nice Starbucks right there. We went to dinner at California Grill about 5 min away and recommend that as well- had a delicious dinner. read more

New hotel in Watsonville and it was a really comfortable stay from the beginning checking in it was very smooth I loved all the details in the hotel. they had decorations set up for St. Patrick's Day. The coffee table in the front of the lobby was really nice and clean. The rooms where also nice and clean. Perfect sleep! The snack area downstairs was my favorite they had so many snacks to pick from! Perfect to enjoy a nice movie in the room. They had great channels and app selection for movies.. The breakfast was great, Food quality was okay. Some items weren't that great but everything in the breakfast area was nice and clean and easy to grab food. Got to enjoy the pool in the morning all by ourselves. Great pool by the way. I will for sure stay back here in the near future read more

Stayed here this weekend and even though it is in a very singled out location, we enjoyed it very much! Staff was friendly, price fair, our 2 queen suite room was LARGE and clean (bathroom could've been a tad cleaner) Breakfast is always a bonus just like free parking and the heated pool! AM PM right next door and if you go the light, hang a left, veer right onto San Andreas st you're next to a few state beaches. About 12 min drive and on the back roads. We will stay here again! I enjoyed all of it and appreciate the kindness from staff! If you wanna stay out of the "chaos" of anything each trip related, I'd recommend this place! It is easily overlooked I am sure by beach goers but I enjoy not being sucked into an excess of people. I recommend for sure!!!! read more

I apologize for being the one to tell everyone but this place is super dirty, it has the this is hasn't been properly deep clean in a while feeling. There's no one to clean the hotel from the inside out? I don't see anyone vaccuming the carpets, I don't see anyone mopping, and When I went to use the restroom in the lobby, there was a mess in the women's bathroom, as in they didn't flush the toilet and I guess no one check them daily because it really look dried out and like it's been like that for a few days. When I asked to speak to a manager they told me there's no one here during the night to help better accommodate me and my needs. That I had to wait to morning to make a complaint. My room was really clean so that was nice, but I believe it's because there is so many rooms available because there are hardly any guest around. The snacks are expired from two months ago. I was so embarrassed to say something because there's no manager at night I just threw the chips away.. I have business meeting during the day, which is why I can't talk to the daytime manager and needed to speak to management due to the questionable cleanses of the hotel, the outside cold use a little yardwork and the only good thing is that Starbucks is here and the breakfast is delicious waffles toast cereal yogurt fresh fruit juice savory muffins and the coffee.. well like I said Starbucks is here.. We've only stayed here once. It's a newer hotel overlooking farmland and a spooky old house that is a Historical Site. My girlfriend liked how the tv said "welcome Krystal" when we walked in. The free breakfast begins at 06:00, giving you plenty of time for adventure. Breakfast is sorta run-of-the-mill, make your own waffles, hot & cold cereals, juice, coffee, teas, yogurt, eggs, potatoes, sausages, omelets, and fruit. What I really appreciated about our stay here was when we left our clothes in the closet, I just emailed them a shipping label and they sent our wardrobe back to us. The pool is indoor, and there is EV charging. Additionally, if you don't like the free coffee, there's a Starbucks, and a gas station right in front. The king bed was super comfy too. read more

We got in on Wednesday to visit my daughter and her family. We were an hour early for check in. But the girl let us check in. She's very pleasant and kind. We got to our room. And we are very happy with it. It's clean. Cool. Just perfect. The bed is very comfortable. Even the pillows. Normally I'll complain about pillows. But these worked out great. The shower worked very well. Pressure was perfect. This room really made us happy. We would definitely stay here again. read more

Will never book through hotels.com. Not impressed with this place. I've stayed at Hampton inns before and they weren't like this. The room we stayed in was very worn. Dog poop stains on the floor, bed spread had stains, several lights burnt out and blind didn't work. The rest of the Inn seemed ti be kept up. I didn't want to sleep in the covers or walk on the floor. Wouldn't stay here again for what we paid. read more

The customer service was awful. We are seasoned travelers & we were shocked at the lack of customer service this hotel provided. When a main water pipe broke and we were with no water and no working toilets, there was no communication from the front desk. When we asked what was the plan for providing your guests with a working toilet, they simple said 'what do you want us to do about it? ' I suggested portable toilets or water truck for us to get water and be able to flush the toilets. On top of no water, we lost power for about 2 hours in the evening. We checked out early. The toilets downstairs were nasty and for sure will need to be plunged. You don't realize how much you use water until you don't have any for over 14 hours. read more

Came to town for a ROV competition at the local high school. Made our reservations about 2 weeks prior, and I found out later that they over-booked. We got into town about 7:30 and basically unpacked and settled in for the night. Our first issue came instantly. The AC didn't work. Quick look behind the control revealed a lose wire to be the culprit, at minimum. It's a full house so they can't switch us out. They were going to send someone to fix it, but called back to tell us the part was on order, but we can bring you a fan up (smh). It was warm in our room too. But we make due. The room itself was nice. My kids loved the barn door to get into the restroom. I just put one up for my son, but I will concur that this one is nicer. It doesn't lock, of course, so don't expect the restroom to be your escape of you have kids. You might get caught in a compromised position. The gripe of my wife was that there was no bathtub. The next morning we get up and have a decent breakfast. It would have been better if the sausage wasn't turkey, but it was a free meal. We checked out shortly after. But later that afternoon, I found out just how fortunate we were to even have a room. My buddy checked in sometime after 8. After he checked in, they told the guy right behind him, I'm sorry sir but we tried calling you multiple times and you didn't answer. We are completely full. Fortunately for my buddy, he answered when they called to say he was on his way. That guy would probably give Hampton Inn a 1 star. My experience was a lot better than his read more

We had a large group of exchange students here for the weekend and the hotel was super accommodating. Breakfast was great and included waffles, little omelets, fruits, breads and pastries and cereals. Also hot oatmeal. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. There is a small frig and coffee maker. Face masks are required, tribute to ongoing pandemic times. They halt the spread of the virus and essentially save lives, so wear one. Welcome to the Golden State! Chatted with the receptionist but didn't catch her name. Coffee/tea/cocoa station is kept well organized, stocked, and clean. Breakfast hours are 6am through 10am. Hot coco is served from 3pm till 11pm. Business center open 24 hours a day as it should, at any hotel. Around the corner from the coffee station, there are wine fridges, stocked up with treats and sips, to self serve. Juices, canned teas, sodas, Nesquik, Simply Apple, Sprite, Coke, Dr Pepper, Red Bull, and snacks. Sutter Home wines. White Zinfandel, Pinot Grigio, Moscato d'Asti. Yep cheap wine five bucks on a good day, so what, it serves the purpose and it's refreshing, and you get your choice of white, rosé, reds. I came here to meet up with someone for business, to accommodate their convenience and time. All in all, clean new hotel, not far from Monterey Bay, Pajaro Dunes Beach and Sunset State Beach. Very reasonable rates, around hundred bucks for Saturday night. EV charging station is available. I appreciate this area and would highly recommend you check it out if you need an overnight stay. Hampton Inn & Suits have never failed me all across the States, before or after the pandemic. I stayed with them in Lincoln NE and on various other road trips, all good experiences. Staff are pretty good! That said, this place is a disaster. Lines at the front desk all the time - a single staffer insisting that their manager will be there in 20 minutes, and yet a manager never shows up, nor do additional staff to relieve them. Staffing issues? Most likely, given the "housekeeping jobs now available for $16/hr" sign outside. Of course, you may have to pay a bit more than $16/hr if you want to attract folks to work, just an idea. Trash piled up in hallways and around garbage cans for well over 24 hours. Multiple lights in our room sometimes didn't work - and the motion sensor, which cannot be turned off, turns the lights on in the middle of the night just from my kids turning over in bed. That happened four times in the first night. I asked at the front desk, they promised someone would come up to fix it, but nobody came within the 12 hours that we were there after that... I called about a lost item after we left, was told we'd get a call back. That never happened. Breakfast was pretty nasty. Powdered eggs, not well-mixed, still powdery in the middle. Potatoes were still raw and cold. Sausage dripping grease. Out of bread (???), no spoons available, no regular milk (skim only). Waffle maker broken both days. Coffee cold. Kitchen staff spent all their time talking to friends rather than helping the 7 (!!) guests lined up to ask for help. Housekeeping staff were on point, though, and definitely deserve more than $16/hr since they're far more competent than management - and friendlier, too! Hilton, if you are listening, make the housekeepers the managers and fire management ... the place will improve immeasurably. read more

My parents were left stranded by the Hampton Inn in Watsonville. My parents had a reservation for tonight and it was canceled last minute because of an "Expedia glitch", and their room was given to someone who booked through Expedia. The hotel only attempted to contact them one time, and it was only 30 minutes before they got to the hotel. They did not leave a message. They did not email my parents. My mom googled the phone number used, and it didn't lead to the hotel, but to a porn website. They have been driving all day from Oregon, and are not familiar with the area at all. Thankfully they were able to find a place to stay last minute. Shame on this establishment. P.s. before they went in to check-in, they took their dog outside to the pet area, and there were needles in the grass. read more

This hotel could not be more awful for trying to have a place to sleep when travelling. I booked a studio so my son could sleep on the pull out coach. What they did not disclose is that pull out coach is completely unusable. They have major design flaws of having installed overhead motion sensor lights in every room that can't be turned off! The one for the "studio" is directly in the path of the pullout bed so that every time my son would turn over in his sleep, bright overhead lights would come on in the room. I would get up, turn them off and then it would happen again about every hour. This is called sleep torture. The front desk was completely useless and offered no help and $30 off for a sleepless night. I will never stay at another Hilton property anywhere. read more

Would not recommend staying. Unfriendly staff also understaffed. We had a couple of issues while staying here. Tv did not work asked to switch rooms could not accommodate us after they told us they could. Also, was offered housekeeping upon check in if we requested it. However we requested housekeeping to empty thrash and freshen up bathroom. They said they could not offer housekeeping services afterall. Thrash bins we're over filled I could not even empty our room thrash into larger thrash bins. Staff very rude and unfriendly. We are kind understanding people I get it if your having a bad day or not happy what your doing but Hilton really needs to boost morale for their staff and customer service.
