We stayed here July 2024. We were catfished. This place looks gorgeous on the booking sites. And my sweet husband tried to book our room. His first time doing so as I do all the hotel picking. So he goes off the number of stars on the booking sites. He wasn't aware to read the recent comments. So if you're reading this, don't really need my opinion as I can guarantee it matches all the other reviews. Just read them. Sadly this was not the hotel in the pictures. I am actually typing this as I lay here waiting for the morning to arrive so I can check out. And I'm a bit scared to post this while still here in fear it will be seen and the people here terrify me. It just seems like there are for sure people long term living here. If I'm wrong ok but it appears as tho there are so take that as you may. One towel Dirty back of doors Outside room doors all dinged repeatedly as tho they were beat down by angry visitors. Motel 6 soap Elevator permit expired Disgusting carpet in room No comforter. Thin blanket, like a shelter blanket, with cigarette stains. Outside run down no gardening at all just dry fields surrounding between street and hotel.

    Welcoming entrance

This place is disgusting. The people "doing business" in the parking lot were the least of our worries. There were no towels, the curtains were thin Mainstays brand (thats Walmart) and threadbare. The lamp was crumbling. The door had been kicked in, the elevator had no safety permit or inspection posted (legally required) and sounded like it was going to die. Nothing worked, everything was dirty (broom swept, but deep down filthy and worn), the pool would have probbaly given us scabies. The lobby usually had a weird assortment of people's leftover booze (big buzz balls on the rusted tables), garbage, and whatever array of riff raff that blew in that night.

    Used bandage in the bathroom

If i could give no stars i would! Phone lines dont work we had no towels to take a shower no pillows there was a used bandage stuck to our shower and the front desk woman was asleep every time we went down there and was hard to wake up including at check in! Never again $329 for a janky ass hotel room! Never again

Worst Front desk ever, very rude and cursing

AVOID AVOID at all cost. Worst place ever. I booked a night at Hotel E Real about two weeks ago and had a terrible experience. After checking out, I did not get my security deposit back. I called the hotel after two weeks, and they took my information, promising to call me back. They never did. When I called again after two days, they accused me of stealing five towels and leaving the room very dirty. This was a complete lie. We only used the room to take a shower and left after 1-3 hours. We locked the room and informed them when we checked out. The management of this place seems to be running a scam, refusing to return customers' deposits under false pretenses. I've read similar reviews online, confirming this pattern. The front desk staff was extremely rude, calling me names and cursing at me. It was definitely not a safe place to be. Additionally, 2-3 men surrounded me when I came back to ask for my security deposit back, creating a very hostile environment. Avoid this hotel at all costs!

The Rodeway Inn of Watsonville was everything we needed; clean room, spacious beds, cold fridge, and secure location. This hotel is right off the freeway and down the street from a gas station that has hot food items and drinks. The staff at this location was very friendly and made sure my requests were met. I would definitely stay here again.

    Missing TV

We had a very unpleasant experience. It was one of the worst cheaper hotel experiences we have had, unfortunately. We just needed a place to sleep for the night, nothing fancy. The price range was inexpensive but I still feel we paid too much for what was offered. We get there and our room is dirty. I am not sure if it's just dirty/unkept, or they forget to clean the room before booking it out. Either way, the comforter had white stains, the toilet paper was basically empty, only one towel in the room, there was a broken and stained toilet seat, broken curtains with lots of tiny holes peeking through from years of wear and tear, a missing TV - no TV at all just a box where one used to sit, and the room smelled very musty to top it all off. We tried called the front desk to swap rooms but no one answered. My husband went downstairs and they gave us a new room luckily. We had another question for the staff the next morning and no one yet again would answer our call so we had to go down to the lobby to ask. Over all, not a good experience and I will never stay at this location again. It's just very run down. The elevator hasn't been inspected for a while, the vending machines were broken in the lobby. This place needs some overdue TLC if they wanna stay afloat.

Outlet falling out of the wall

What a s-hole. Called ahead to request non-down bedding (allergies) and was told it wouldn't be a problem. When I was checking in, I mentioned this and was told they had forgotten and to wait 5 minutes and it'd be taken care of. When I got to the room, they had simply removed all bedding and had not replaced it with anything. I went back down to the front desk and they acted like that's what I had asked for. I explained again and they sent someone up again who put a sheet on the bed and nothing else. I went down again and explained and they acted so annoyed and finally gave me 2 pillows and a thin full-sized fleece blanket (for a king sized bed). Oh well, we made due. That was just the first of the issues. Though advertised as offering free WiFi, the signal did not reach our room. Half the outlets didn't work (some sticking out of the wall). The windows were filthy. The tv remote didn't work for volume or power (just worked for changing channels). The towels were stained and incredibly small. There's very little sound dampening, so all night we'd hear the door to the stairwell slamming shut. The mattress was incredibly uncomfortable and I woke up sore throughout the night. The tub could only be used as a shower, as the shower/tub selector mechanism was broken. I was trying to avoid Airbnb, but after this experience, I'll avoid cheap hotels. An absolute dumpster fire.

Any good review here must have come from one of their relatives---seriously. Im 70. Ive been in 39 states. This was the worst motel experience of my life. Upon entering their half dirt parking area at night, our car front was sprayed on by skunks that someone feeds there. Humorous? NOT. The carpets in the lobbies on upper floors are so dirty and stained that you will want to disinfect your shoes. The bathroom light didnt work. 1st night TV didnt work. I complained and was told it would be fixed but nobody came. We hads to use the bathroom with the door standing open. The tub needs replacing, too gross to take a bath so we didnt for three nights!!! The ice machine is so filthy that the health dept would burn it. I was told by a young man that I would be taken care of over this when I checked out. I asked for money back or an adjustment the checkout morning and was told that I hasd to ask Expedia for the money back---a LIE. I had paid the motel directly. Expedia told me I had to call them. I did and they refused---saying my staying there 3 nights was 'acceptance of condition'. The entire county was booked---there was no place else for us to go. I'll tell you--anyone who gives this place a good review would be happy to rent the LOWER floor of an outhouse. (I have photos to back all this except the skunks. We were too afraid to film them)

The only reason I can give this hotel a one star is because it is close to the freeway, short drive to the beach, and 30 minutes from Santa Cruz. Other than that I will never stay here again. The room itself, smelled so bad, the bedding was so dirty and grungy. The bathroom was disgusting, dirty and worn out. The carpet felt gross and I woke up with bug bites on my legs. We went to "breakfast" in the morning and 1 hour into the breakfast hour, they had run out of food and coffee. I asked if they were going to bring anything else out and they said no. The guy I spoke to was so rude and said "well you should have been here early" last I checked 7am is a decent time for breakfast. I asked him and confirmed if breakfast hours were from 6am-9am and he said "yes" so you only had food for one hour of your designated "breakfast time?" Do yourself a favor and dont stay here.

Adj: Pretty Predictable HIE…read more This Holiday Inn Express was clean, spacious, the staff member who checked us in was warm and welcoming. She said she specifically put us in a room with a nicer view b/c we're platinum elite members, and up on the top floor so that we wouldn't have noise coming from above. So I'm not sure staff would do so if a customer wasn't an IHG member, but she was also helpful in explaining different facilities/services available. The room was spacious and mostly clean, bright, and comfortable. The carpet could use some steam cleaning and we didn't feel the carpet was clean, so we made sure to keep our flip flops on, but other than that everything else about the room was good. The pool was nice but cold, and we expected a spa which would've been nice, but our kids enjoyed swimming in the indoors pool. Although we didn't use the exercise room/small gym, it looked sufficient for a hotel stay workout. The breakfast service was plentiful although there was only 1 choice of yogurt and it had genetically modified ingredients so we couldn't feed that to our kids. There was enough of other items so that was nice, to include proteins. Overall, this was one of the nicer HIEs we've stayed at. Hopefully, it'll only get better and not worse. I just read some of the concerning reviews, and the reviews seem to either be glowing or alarming, so I hope the hotel has been taking steps to improve.

Our middle child is almost 2 and our youngest is four months old. Gilroy Gardens is located less than 30 minutes from Watsonville California. However, you have to travel through a curvy road in order to get there. It wasn't too bad of a drive and it drops you off right by the entrance of Gilroy gardens Some pros about this hotel- Clean- room was clean & staff was really prompt about tidying up our rooms in the morning and we didn't even have to ask. When we came back to our hotel room, our beds were made in our garbage was taken out and we had fresh towels. Private patio - we stayed in room 101 which was the family suite with a private patio. It had its own gated area and you could eat at the table outside if you wanted to. Pool- we did not swim, but there was an outdoor pool. As a family, it was a big bonus to find a place that had a kitchenette in it and allowed us to have meals in the room. In fact, there's a restaurant directly across the street that while we didn't eat there .. it smelled absolutely delicious. Just ok.. Our kitchen .. had no knives. We could not cut a watermelon. All the tableware was plastic and paper plates. We have stayed at other hotels with kitchens & were supplied with real silverware and plates. My husband was trying to stir our food with a plastic spoon and it melted . All the glassware was plastic too. We also were not supplied with any dishwasher soap . Breakfast- the lady that works there was helpful and nice. However, no waffles which was a bummer. A lot of the hot food didn't really taste great.. there was biscuits and gravy, round eggs and sausage. There was also lots of muffins, bagels and English muffins. There was also fresh yogurt with toppings fresh cut strawberries in the refrigerator. There was chocolate milk , white milk and juice. Plus a neat coffee maker that would make customized coffee orders for you. My actual favorite thing to have there was the fresh yogurt with the toppings. Usually I'm a hot food breakfast person but to be honest it wasn't very good. Our kids aren't picky and they really wouldn't eat it either including the French toast sticks. Our kids basically stuck to chocolate milk , strawberries and the premade muffin because the hot food was just not very edible. The machine that customizes your coffee is also located in the entryway of the lobby so if you want customize coffee other times the day they have it there too The not so great.. There was no trolley to bring your bags to and from the car. We did not know until we arrived and got our room that our room was located on the other side of the hotel. You had to walk down the sidewalk and up through the wooden gate to your private patio. While that is awesome and very private... We also have three small children and getting all of our things and three small children from across the parking lot onto a sidewalk and into our room was kind of a challenge. If our kids were older probably would not be a big deal as they could carry their own bags. We realized later that you can actually pull up your vehicle and parallel park on the street and it's a little bit closer so you can load up your vehicle before you leave. Along with no trolleys, there's also no elevators so if you have to be on the second floor, you're gonna have to bring all your baggage upstairs yourself without the help of an elevator. It was not the hotels fault.. but getting woke up before 8am the first morning wasn't so fun to jackhammer's hammering right outside the window. For the inconvenience, the hotel did add some points to our Best Western account though. The other thing I noticed was our room advertise for up to six people, however with two queen beds and a twin pullout .. it really only sleeps five. It worked out for us because we are a family of 5 and we had a crib, but if you're really counting on it to six people you might wanna consider it. So would we stay again... Maybe but with children that are our kids ages maybe not.

Okay so for the good: The room was clean, i didn't really go looking but visually there wasn't a reason to. Just about every light fixture has an outlet to plug in something. There is a small reading light by the bed which is a nice touch. The internet was password protected. It's just a minutes drive from a few food spots and other amenities. The bad: When taking a shower i couldn't get the water past warm and it struggled to maintain a constant temperature. ( the rental agency was very responsive about this) In this time of Covid, these discoveries made our stay uncomfortable. Was this place really sanitized before our arrival? My point here is that a rental at the beach, for $400+/ night, should be comfortable in all aspects. This was not. For a total of $1800 for four nights, I would have expected much more.
