DO NOT STAY HERE!! Dirty rooms, no towels, pictures do not match the hotel. The rooms are rundown and bathrooms are dirty and cracked tiles. Bedding was stiff and scratchy and so uncomfortable could barely get any sleep. Pool is gross dirty no chairs to sit on. Lobby has no furniture and is rundown and not at all as shown. Myself and hotels.com tried to get a refund for the room and no one answered the phone. $180 for this place is an absolute joke. Place has a for sale sign so I'm guessing this is why it's no longer taken care of. read more

The property is pet-friendly, our room smelled like a wet dog. The window screens were broken, and they used tape to cover up the holes. We took a UV light and noticed how dirty the bed sheets and pillowcases were I doubt they wash the sheets. The paint on the bathtub was peeling off. It's a run-down facility. Do not stay here. I'm a low-maintenance person who is willing to put up with some issues at a cheap motel, but I left this place despite being exhausted from travel and having pre-paid for my room. First of all, THIS IS NOT RODEWAY INN. It still has the Rodeway sign and it says that name on booking sites, but when you call to speak with them directly, they say they are now Pacific Coast Inn. It's creepy at best--the building is the only one in the vicinity, and it almost looks abandoned, with weeds growing out of the parking lot. The lobby was eerie, with some of the lights out and wide stains in the carpet. Behind the front counter, there was a mess of file boxes. The woman at the front desk was kind and helpful but that didn't compare to the rest of this motel. After a long check-in process (despite already having paid online), I went upstairs to my room. There were huge carpet stains and a strange smell in the hall. My room smelled awful. There were stains on the sheets and everything was generally beat-up. After realizing I couldn't stomach the smell, I decided to go downstairs and ask for another room. However, the door to the staircase was locked--a huge safety concern. I took the elevator downstairs and explained the situation. The front desk woman said I could have my choice of rooms on the first floor and she walked me over to the first one but I didn't even look inside because the smell in the hallway was completely unbearable. It really smelled like decay, as if someone had died in there. There were also huge stains in the carpet downstairs and the whole area was creepily dark. I said I had to get out of there and asked about getting a refund. She said they'd approve my refund but since my booking was through a third party, they wouldn't be able to give me any approval in writing. This place is disgusting. The people "doing business" in the parking lot were the least of our worries. There were no towels, the curtains were thin Mainstays brand (thats Walmart) and threadbare. The lamp was crumbling. The door had been kicked in, the elevator had no safety permit or inspection posted (legally required) and sounded like it was going to die. Nothing worked, everything was dirty (broom swept, but deep down filthy and worn), the pool would have probbaly given us scabies. The lobby usually had a weird assortment of people's leftover booze (big buzz balls on the rusted tables), garbage, and whatever array of riff raff that blew in that night. read more

Dear God... NO. The First clue was the faulty entry doors to the lobby. The restroom in the lobby stank and there was no soap, toilet paper or hand towels. They were out of key cards so you had to wait for someone to come open the door to your room everytime! The corridors carpets smelled big time. It was unbearable. The shower curtains were not water proof / resistant, resulting with water all over the floor. The soap plate in the shower was crudely glued in the shower corner. AVOID AVOID at all cost. Worst place ever. I booked a night at Hotel E Real about two weeks ago and had a terrible experience. After checking out, I did not get my security deposit back. I called the hotel after two weeks, and they took my information, promising to call me back. They never did. When I called again after two days, they accused me of stealing five towels and leaving the room very dirty. This was a complete lie. We only used the room to take a shower and left after 1-3 hours. We locked the room and informed them when we checked out. The management of this place seems to be running a scam, refusing to return customers' deposits under false pretenses. I've read similar reviews online, confirming this pattern. The front desk staff was extremely rude, calling me names and cursing at me. It was definitely not a safe place to be. We had a very unpleasant experience. It was one of the worst cheaper hotel experiences we have had, unfortunately. We just needed a place to sleep for the night, nothing fancy. The price range was inexpensive but I still feel we paid too much for what was offered. We get there and our room is dirty. I am not sure if it's just dirty/unkept, or they forget to clean the room before booking it out. Either way, the comforter had white stains, the toilet paper was basically empty, only one towel in the room, there was a broken and stained toilet seat, broken curtains with lots of tiny holes peeking through from years of wear and tear, a missing TV - no TV at all just a box where one used to sit, and the room smelled very musty to top it all off. We tried called the front desk to swap rooms but no one answered. My husband went downstairs and they gave us a new room luckily. We had another question for the staff the next morning and no one yet again would answer our call so we had to go down to the lobby to ask. Over all, not a good experience and I will never stay at this location again. It's just very run down. The elevator hasn't been inspected for a while, the vending machines were broken in the lobby. This place needs some overdue TLC if they wanna stay afloat. read more

If I could give them a 0 I would. The phone line does not work and Rodeway Inn does not reply to emails either, so if you would like to contact them, good luck. My family's stay was interrupted by some sort of fire emergency. All occupants were evacuated for many hours in the middle of the night. The manager promised to refund everyone for that night but we have not received a refund and have not been able to contact them via phone or email. What a s-hole. Called ahead to request non-down bedding (allergies) and was told it wouldn't be a problem. When I was checking in, I mentioned this and was told they had forgotten and to wait 5 minutes and it'd be taken care of. When I got to the room, they had simply removed all bedding and had not replaced it with anything. I went back down to the front desk and they acted like that's what I had asked for. I explained again and they sent someone up again who put a sheet on the bed and nothing else. I went down again and explained and they acted so annoyed and finally gave me 2 pillows and a thin full-sized fleece blanket (for a king sized bed). Oh well, we made due. That was just the first of the issues. Though advertised as offering free WiFi, the signal did not reach our room. Half the outlets didn't work (some sticking out of the wall). The windows were filthy. The tv remote didn't work for volume or power (just worked for changing channels). The towels were stained and incredibly small. There's very little sound dampening, so all night we'd hear the door to the stairwell slamming shut. The mattress was incredibly uncomfortable and I woke up sore throughout the night. The tub could only be used as a shower, as the shower/tub selector mechanism was broken. I was trying to avoid Airbnb, but after this experience, I'll avoid cheap hotels. Any good review here must have come from one of their relatives---seriously. Im 70. Ive been in 39 states. This was the worst motel experience of my life. Upon entering their half dirt parking area at night, our car front was sprayed on by skunks that someone feeds there. Humorous? NOT. The carpets in the lobbies on upper floors are so dirty and stained that you will want to disinfect your shoes. The bathroom light didnt work. 1st night TV didnt work. I complained and was told it would be fixed but nobody came. We hads to use the bathroom with the door standing open. The tub needs replacing, too gross to take a bath so we didnt for three nights!!! The ice machine is so filthy that the health dept would burn it. I was told by a young man that I would be taken care of over this when I checked out. I asked for money back or an adjustment the checkout morning and was told that I hasd to ask Expedia for the money back---a LIE. I had paid the motel directly. Expedia told me I had to call them. I did and they refused---saying my staying there 3 nights was 'acceptance of condition'. The entire county was booked---there was no place else for us to go. I'll tell you--anyone who gives this place a good review would be happy to rent the LOWER floor of an outhouse. (I have photos to back all this except the skunks. The only reason I can give this hotel a one star is because it is close to the freeway, short drive to the beach, and 30 minutes from Santa Cruz. Other than that I will never stay here again. The room itself, smelled so bad, the bedding was so dirty and grungy. The bathroom was disgusting, dirty and worn out. The carpet felt gross and I woke up with bug bites on my legs. We went to "breakfast" in the morning and 1 hour into the breakfast hour, they had run out of food and coffee. I asked if they were going to bring anything else out and they said no. The guy I spoke to was so rude and said "well you should have been here early" last I checked 7am is a decent time for breakfast. !!Do not book at this hotel!! We booked a room and upon entering the room you could see the fluid stains on the bed sheets from the front door. We pulled back the bedspread and found brown material in the bed. Within 10 minutes of checking in, we went to the front desk. No apology. No offer to come look. Seemed routine. We accepted the offer to move to another room and saw the same fluid stains on the bedsheets in that room too. No blacklight needed here. We told them we would not be staying and they asked for the keycard back. I asked for a receipt for the credit. Was told they didn't have one because the card was not, and would not be charged. Got home to see the charge on my card and called. An older man, who must have been the owner, said we stayed one night and accused me of lying about the fluids to get a credit and also lying about being told I would not be charged. We needed a place to stay and had to sleep, literally, in a barn that night, so what motivation would we possible have to come to a hotel, check in, and within 10 minutes then demand a refund? Not any scam I have ever heard of. Not only do they not service their linen (also, the carpet was covered it what I hope was unvacuumed detergent), they also do not seem to care to offer even the basic customer service and blamed me for their disgusting housekeeping. It appears to be a completely family run establishment and the "staff" is probably overworked and under paid and the owner is tired and mean. read more

We booked the Rodeway Inn for 2 nights while we had a family event at sunset beach. We hadn't stayed with Rodeway in a few years but had a nice stay a few years back. Let me tell you, what used to be a very decent Inn turned into cesspool. The building maintenance is obviously lacking and when we entered the second floor to our room, the halls wreaked of weed. We we made it to our room, dirty dirty dirty. Not only were the linens on the bed dirty, their were no towels in the room whatsoever. We approached the front desk staff and informed them of the lack of cleanliness of our room, they said they were out of towels and the guy who cleans them wouldn't be back until the next day at 9am. We had booked a special through booking.com for a handicap accessible room for THREE people and received a confirmation. TWO days before our trip I called the hotel personally to make sure our reservation was confirmed and ask about the continental breakfast and she told me yes, our room was confirmed and the breakfast included cereal, yogurt and fruit. So we go to check in and they say they can't give us the room because we have 3 people for a 2 person room (two double beds). Which we reserved for! She said the computer would not allow it. I offered to pay another way and she would not accept it. She let us stay one night for free and I offered to pay in the morning. She called her boss in the morning and was told that there was nothing they could do and we would have to check out of the hotel by 11am so they could GIVE IT TO SOMEONE ELSE!!!!!! So now we have to pause our trip to find another hotel instead of enjoying our vacation like we should be doing right now. OH, and there is NO breakfast. read more

Such a dirty hotel and roaches in the bathroom. The bathtub hadn't been cleaned and was so disgusting that we put a towel down so we could just rinse off in the shower. When my daughter went to turn the water on the handle came off in her hand. There was coffee but no cups as if we would have used that gross coffee maker anyway. We were booked for two nights but canceled our second night and manager didn't want to refund us for the second night or release the deposit. That was on Saturday and I was finally refunded on Monday. What a slumlord they have running that place. I'll never stay there again and tell everyone the same. read more

Ugh. Where to begin. The lobby looks vacant. No furniture, lights off, no one around until you push a doorbell where a less than friendly woman came out still chewing her lunch. I should have walked out but didnt. At least the elevator worked. Our room was clean as far as having been vaccuumed and no dust, mold or bad smells but that is where the compliment ends. What I think was make-up was all over the front of the door, inside the bathoom area walls, carpet and faucet handle. I could scrape it with my fingernail so it didnt seem anyone tried to clean it very well. My sheet had some kind of stain on it but I could tell it had been washed. Why we stayed is beyond me. Many of the windows don't have screens. I watched from my car as a person on the ground floor opened his window from the outside and climbed in instead of using the door. At about 10:30 pm, someone was throwing boxes or something heavy around for about 20 minutes. I called the front desk and they were very responsive about sending someone up. The security seemed pretty good. There is more but I think you get the idea. They also charged me for 2 nights but are refunding the second night and the lady was very nice but ignored what I told her about the room condition which leads me to believe they know and dont care. Booked this hotel as it states online that it has HOT BREAKFAST and I went down to breakfast & there is plain cereal and plain bread, when I asked the front desk lady where the rest of the breakfast was she stated that was all there was. So I showed her online where it says hot breakfast and she stated she didn't know why it said that so now I paid over $200 for a room for my moms $65th birthday just to sleep because they lied on their website. I now have to pay more somewhere else for breakfast because of false advertisement. Terrible customer service and one person working the front desk with a line of people waiting to be helped. They don't say sorry for the wait, or it will be just a minute or try to work with any urgency. Not worth the money at all in anyway. Update also there was a fire alarm that just went off and it was only because of burnt toast and the entire hotel is outside in the cold not knowing that's the reason so I had to physically go on and tell the supervisor that they should attend to their guests outside and let them know of the false alarm so we can go back to our rooms. Yes, the hotel is slightly dated, but it has everything you need and for the price, it was well worth it. He told us this was a shelter but refused to say what type of shelter. Asked if we were here to visit someone, no we're just looking at some trees on the edge of the property. I stayed for 4th of July weekend and the lien is was stained, mattresses were old and stained, pillows were flat and worn, the whole room smelled of mold, and to top it off there were bed bugs. I woke up full of bites that were unrecognizable I did some online research and decided to check and flipped the mattress just to find huge BED BUGS! I wanted to ensure the manager knows and address this, but when the receptionist called the manger he didn't want to talk and said that he doesn't work on Sunday and to email him. A full refund isn't going to fix all the things I had to throw away because bed bugs don't die. A full refund isn't going the PDSD that I know have staying in hotels. Okay, let me start by saying the tv was BRAND NEW and quite large. But did not initially work each time I turned it on. When the TV is turned on, it starts at channel '2', but the satellite is plugged into HDMI 1. There is no switch on the remote, so I had to find it on the TV. Second, my king size bed was comfortable. The lack of routine cleaning and maintenance was beyond disgusting. The floor was SOOO DISGUSTING, I would not walk on it barefoot. it was worn out and filthy!!!! Stains everywhere. I have a photo of a wet washcloth I rubbed on the floor for just a second... NASTY. The bathroom door would not open all the way and was wedged against the floor. I had to climb over the toilet to get out of the shower. They are in the process of remodeling but given their lack of good housekeeping practices, how long until the NEW rooms decay to the current condition of the rooms? With tax, my bill was about $145, would have been better off at a Motel 6. read more

Being next to the freeway was not a problem when it came to sleep time as it was pretty quiet, Would stay here again. They said we could not check in til 3 pm so we explored the Town. It was actually quite cool! Even discovered a Local Brewery 10 minutes away! Corralitos Brewing Co Upon returning they actually let us check in at 2:30 PM Saw some pets in the hotel, but never heard any! Standard Continental Breakfast was supplied which was enough to get us down the road without being hungry. Great stop for us 2 wheel folks. Enjoy! read more

Welcome to 1960's. This is not where you want to stay. The employees are very nice, however the hotel is not. They are in the middle of remodel but usually it is done on a floor which is closed down. Not here. The entire place is being worked on. The room was not cleaned and when we inquired we were told "we cannot sell your room as you are in it so we only clean saleable rooms." The ice machines do not work, the sofa machine is out of order. The hotel grounds are in an industrial area, but it is close to Hwy 1. Good luck on your stay if you choose. Caveat emptor. read more
