Staff were friendly, and the nearby access to the interstate made it easy to get to/find. I wish the fridge in my room had been slightly bigger, but I'm just glad it was working. I was traveling with fresh food and did not want that to spoil. A solid 4/5, Mebane. Good job!

I did not hear the road noise until the next morning when traffic started to pick up. I had hoped to sleep in but that was not possible. The room appeared clean but I still had some disinfecting wipes left and got a lot of dust from the bathroom counter so they need to do a more thorough job. Breakfast was offered in the hotel and I think because the hotel was so empty the offerings were not much. A cheese omelet was available; cereals and bread and bagels.

The lobby is very clean the staff is professional and friendly. They only sell alcohol until midnight boo!, but it is what it is. They have a small little area where you can purchase food and snacks which is great. I love that they serve complimentary breakfast and dinner... yes! You heard me correctly complimentary dinner as well. Breakfast is the best in my opinion because the selection is so much better. My favorite is the biscuits with or without gravy and I call them ashy biscuits because they are not quite golden just perfect soft, tender and delicious. I'm not sure if they are made in house, but they definitely do taste homemade and absolutely delicious. I wish I had some apple butter with me. The cook prepared a 5 star spread for us for breakfast featuring his favourite "teddy bear" fruit sculpture. What a treat!! Enjoyed the back porch with view of garden which supports a number of species of migrating and local species of birds. An orchestra awaited us every morning! At any other B&B I've been to (such as the nearby and exceptional Arrowhead Inn), they've been more than happy to accommodate us for breakfast whenever we wished. So, we stayed, and enjoyed our experience at this Bed, sans the breakfast.

The downfall is the area-- its not very pretty and looks run down but what place around a truck stop does? So updating review at 1010am next morning--- staff STILL super friendly- they deserve awards in hospitality. The breakfast however was ABYSMAL. I got down at 800am to find nothing but 8 bagels. cold cereal, and waffles and coffee. No hard boiled eggs. no yogurt, no NOTHING else. So either everyone checked out and gobbled it all up before800am or this hotel is in serious financial trouble. There are NO bedbugs so yay! The rooms are clean and the sheets are super silky and soft. But my vents reeked of ciggie smoke late at night even though this is a STRICKTLY no smoking hotel. The lobby is a beautiful turn-of-the-century throwback, complete with afternoon tea, and the suite itself is enormous. The real standout is the people. The entire staff was warm and attentive, and the bellman gave us that true five-star welcome that so many hotels have forgotten. This team clearly cares about their guests. Unfortunately, the room itself did not live up to the price point, which was around $600 a night for our suite. The furniture is dated, which I could accept as part of the charm, but the jets in the tub did not work, and that was a real disappointment since a great soaking tub is one of my wife's favorite things about a hotel like this. The bigger issue was the AC unit, which made loud noises all night and slammed on and off so hard it sounded like someone was coming through the wall. Neither of us slept well. I raised it with the front desk and they were gracious and offered to make it right and they comp the entire stay. Not necessary, but outstanding customer service! I'm genuinely glad we experienced this unique property once, and I hope the maintenance catches up to the hospitality, because the team here deserves it. At this rate, though, we won't be back.
