After a recent terrible hotel experience in neighboring Stockton, on our family's last visit to the area, we decided to stay in Tracy instead of Stockton. Stockton isn't the nicest town but we have family in Stockton that we visit regularly. Tracy is only 10-15 minutes away but it's quieter and a nicer town. We opted for the Hampton Inn as the brand is reliable for cleanliness and good service. Check-in was easy and the front desk staff was polite. They even offer discounts or several neighboring restaurants when you show your room key. The serve a full complimentary and breakfast, along with great coffee. I've also stayed at the Hampton Inn in nearby Rancho Cordova but the rooms were a tad smaller here in Tracy. But they were clean, especially the bathroom which is important to me. The bathroom was also stocked with Neutrogena products which is a nice touch. Overall, The Hampton Inn Tracy was a clean, convenient hotel for our trip's needs. It certainly not an upscale vacation getaway but it fits its own niche just right. read more

Ahh yes, the Hampton Inn... not to be confused with the Hamptons at all, ever! First impression...they need auto-doors to open to the lobby while we trek in our luggage. Cmon it's 2015, everything in life is meant to save time and energy so, put that on the to-do list Hampton...hell, make it an app! Also, I appreciate your staff wanting to ensure we're having a good stay, but to call 2 times? We're day-drunk napping!! omg..rude! But that bed.. that bed was heavenly and if I'm ever up shit creek without a paddle and stuck in this god-foresaken town again, I'd probably hit the Fairfield right across the way..it appeared to be more updated. Lastly, there was some action going on in the hallway late late at night..it sounded like a constant thumping but I didn't want to open up our door to find out where the hell it was coming from... Pretty much one of the few good hotels/inns in Tracy. This hampton inn is located in a mall / plaza complex type deal. there's another hotel/inn next door as well. I was there on a business trip. Rooms were decent for what they were, no complaints really. Staff at front desk were really friendly and nice too. Free continental breakfast in the morning from 7 to 9am.. and it's pretty good too! most everything is fresh (don't eat the "scrambled eggs"), and their fruit juice choices are really good. :) they have an indoor pool and an outdoor jacuzzi, as well as a couple of patio seating available.. but I went when it was freezing cold and windy, so we didnt spend time out there. If i went up for another business trip, and we had to stay at the Hampton Inn again, I most definitely wouldn't mind. :) read more

A few weeks ago my buddy's car broke down on us while driving back from Yosemite on a Sunday night. A few hours after the car trouble started, we were finally able to get off the freeway and stop at this hotel. The staff was insanely friendly and helpful. The guy on night-shift even loaned us his phone charger! Good breakfast and very nice rooms too. Not sure when I'd ever need to stay here again, with SF so close, but really wanted to give credit where credit is due. read more

Very dissatisfied with this Hampton Inn. I booked my room online on March 26th for a stay April 3rd through the 7th. I checked in online in April 2nd and when I arrived at hotel on April 3rd, I asked the girl at the front desk to apply our corporate rate and was told that she couldn't do this because the hotel was sold out. I attempted to get this resolved every day during my stay with no success. When I checked in online, I had the option to choose my room, and there were many to pick from, so I'm not buying the sold out comment. Besides, it certainly wasn't sold out when I booked the room in March. I also called the manager, Rosario, twice and never received a reply. Not happy and will definitely let my company know in hopes that they remove this hotel from the approved list. read more

This is my 3rd week staying here now for work since October. Haley, Yala and Diana have been great. They go over and beyond to provide a great experience. Since I am staying here a few weeks on and off for work I needed help making reservations for myself and my team. All 3 are the best. The hotel is is always clean and so are the rooms and bathroom. I did ask one manager for help (Brianna) for help one day and she was reluctant to help. She simple dismissed me saying she could not help. I asked her to please reach out to her manger to try and help me with my issue and all she said was I am the manager. However, the next day I asked Haley for help and she assisted and helped solve my problem. I am in the customer service experience business so I am very neurotic when I see people providing that to me or not doing a very good job. read more

Very clean. Very friendly. I stayed here a few nights while working on a nearby wind farm. The staff allowed my coworker and I a late check out without a hassle. The mini-fridge is huge. The internet is great although you have to log on again after 24 hours. The only flaw was the freeway noise, but I expected this based on the location. read more

Hilton Gold Member - travel for business, and got the bill for a ONE night stay here. $252.00 for ONE NIGHT. I kid you not. This is an absurd amount to pay for a HAMPTON inn (low end Hilton property - entry level I believe) a MONDAY night stay (not a Friday - a MONDAY) in TRACY ca (the least sexy city in California) - lol not the most luxurious of the Hilton family properties, def not the most desirable city in the world and a Monday. Not even a weekend. 2 stars for the super friendly front desk gals - not their fault that the pricing is ridiculous. They were fabulous - BUT I will never pay this amount for a Hampton Inn room again. read more

The reason I like staying at Hampton Inns is because for the most part you know exactly what you are going to get from town to town....this one was no exception. The room was clean and nice but is on the edge of some modernization and updating. But other than that this is very easy to get to right off the 205 in Tracy and what else is nice is anything you need is right here. From shopping to restaurants this is the newer part of town so everything is right here centrally located. My only dislike about this property is the gym which is super small and lacks anything really nice. I wish more hotels would invest a little extra money in a nice work out area which for me makes me a repeat customer. It is such a nice a nice feeling to have another person who is in a position to make or break an experience go the extra mile. We stayed here two nights. The first night didn't start well. For some reason our air conditioner would decide to run whenever it felt like. After multiple attempts to turn off or adjust thermostat myself it continued to turn on randomly. I called the front desk and the lady apologized and said unfortunately there is no maintenance personnel to take a look. Understandable since it was late in the evening. She quickly offered another room downstairs and again apologized for the inconvenience. I have stayed at other places where I have no doubt would ask if we had jackets and would send someone tomorrow. She made sure we were ok with the new room and made sure I knew she was available to help in anyway she could. You can tell by the demeanor and tone when someone is apologetic due to responsibility or truly is sorry and understands that even as small a thing as this is it still sucked having to repack my daughter's and my stuff and move downstairs. Not to mention delaying a four year olds swimming time. Every staff member to follow was equally as genuine in asking if there were anything we needed and wanted to know how our stay was. If you find yourself in Tracy and need a place to rest this is the spot. read more

Our travel baseball team enjoys staying at Hampton Inns when we travel. This weekend our entire team booked at a different hotel with the exception of one parent who booked with Hampton Tracy. When a huge storm hit and cancelled the tournament on Friday everyone was able to cancel their reservations except the family who booked with Hampton Tracy. This was to be our first tournament in Tracy with two to follow in November and December. Our 15 rooms per trip will NOT be here, customer service is not up to par with families who spend every other weekend in hotels. read more

Nice clean hotel, in a great location. There are plenty of food options that are a 5 to 10 minute walk or a quicker drive. The staff are all friendly and helpful. There is a breakfast that was included in the rate, it wasn't anything to write home about, but then again they are a hotel and not a restaurant. Overall my stay went very well, and when I am back in Tracy I will definitely be staying at the Hampton inn again. read more

When my daughter worked for Hampton inns she got us discounted rooms and we became satisfied customers. From that point on Hampton inn became our first choice when traveling. When Manteca Hampton was booked up we then made reservations for Hampton Tracy. The location is incredible, the hotel is surrounded by restaurants and stores. The hotel room was awesome as us usual and the lobby and breakfast wasn't too bad either. read more

This is a great place for a decent stay. Friendly staff and great services. The only drawbacks is the city of Tracy. Not much to do there, and seems like an hour drive to go anywhere else. But it's not a bad hotel, sometimes you rather just stay and unwind in the Hamptons and that's OK. They do need to have better TV's and better mattress though. The limited TV stations has only 9 channels or something. read more

Worst Hilton property I have ever had any dealings with. I am a diamond member so I travel a lot. I had a reservation on 1/20 and ended up having to cancel. I canceled well in advance of their stated policy. Now twice they have charged my credit card. I have called the Hilton Honors desk and they had the charge removed. Now they have charged my credit card AGAIN! I just called the Hilton Honors desk again and they are having the charge removed. I have spent over 4 hours dealing with this ridiculous issue. Never again will I book with this property. read more

We have stayed here before when there is a family gathering and we don't want to put anyone out. The breakfasts are good and the beds are the best we have ever slept on at a hotel. They have an indoor pool and jacuzzi near the lobby, which is nice because it is windy in Tracy. The staff is very attentive, but I could not give them 5 stars because of the price for the room. The room we were given didn't have a fridge or microwave, but we didn't end up needing one so it wasn't really an issue. You can call around and get better prices for rooms in Tracy. If they dropped their price for a room $10 per night, they would get more business. read more

Stayed here last night and it was pretty basic. Nothing extremely fantastic but nothing to complain about either. The front desk staff was nice and the lobby was well kept. Our room was clean but the bathroom had a bit of a musty smell that seemed like it was coming from the shower curtain so not a huge deal there. The beds were comfortable like like usual. The breakfast was the normal Hampton Inn style. It's right next door to a mall so it was cool to walk over there to kill time and also to walk over for dinner. This hotel insisted that they needed a credit card and would not accept cash as a deposit. Then, after they said I could always pay with cash at checkout, they charged the credit card after all. The room itself was ok; however the tub was cracked and the room lacked accommodations that most other hotels, even motels, have. The indoor swimming pool was extremely difficult to use as it was smelly and hard to breathe in the indoor section. It was also extremely noisy. There is a hotel right across the way that I would recommend you stay at versus this Hampton Hotel; or I have stayed at the Holiday Inn down the street that was much cheaper and much nicer. read more

The bed and pillows are comfy, most importantly, the entire room is clean! I checked the sheets, pillows and comforter, not one stain or hair on it. The towels are a little dark and thinned out, they need to be replaced. The room is also clean, there is no dust anywhere. There are two negatives to this hotel: The smell in the elevator is too strong it actually makes me nauseas Front doors are not manual I would stay here again but management needs to do something about the strong chemical smell in the elevator. read more

I don't do Yelp reviews that often, but I have to say that I was truly surprised with the quality of service that my family and I received at the Hampton Inn in Tracy. I hate hotels because I just think that they are inherently filthy, but after a long drive from Southern California, I was pleased to walk in to the hotel and it smelt clean. I mean antiseptic kind of clean! The front desk personnel where extremely kind and tried to point out places of interest in Tracy even though it was almost midnight when we checked in. Our room was very nice and I have no complaints. The next morning we rolled out of bed and went downstairs to get some breakfast. The breakfast was a typical breakfast. Nothing extraordinary, but I love my free breakfast. My only complaint was that the nice woman that they had bringing out the food, she needs some help. There should be two people in the dining area. She was working her butt off on Saturday and on Sunday. In all, I would like to tell the people at the Hampton Inn in Tracy that they exceeded my expectations and a job well done. Bravo! read more

This place has the most INCOMPETENT staff I've ever had to deal with!!!! I made reservations there for two rooms for my daughter's 13th bday, for a stay back in September for September 12th. I called back and changed my reservation from two rooms to one room. When I went there on September 12th I was told they DIDN'T have my reservation. They also had NO rooms available. The staff was VERY RUDE AND OFFERED NO HELP. So im stuck there with three girls and myself with no rooms when the girls had their heart set on staying there since the movies and everything was right there. I found another hotel further away and we went to spend the night there. Now today, these morons charged my card for two rooms telling me I had reservations for this weekend. Wth???? I don't think so! Hampton Inn needs to hire better employees or give better training. I've owned hotels, motels, and hostels and have NEVER done this to customers! The ONLY reason I even marked one star is bcz it wouldn't let me post my review otherwise they deserve negative starts! So a new update: they've charged my card and keep telling me they've refunded it and still have a hold for $131.10. The manager Virginia with great customer service NOT hung up on me. While driving up I-5 to San Francisco, we decided to rest a night instead of trying to finish the drive with two toddlers during rush hour traffic. I searched a few web-sites for hotels off of I-5 until I finally found this Inn. I made phone reservations about two hours before checking in and we are so happy we stayed here. If anyone has traveled I-5, you know it's not the most scenic and without much going on. We were pleasantly surprised that driving about 15 minutes out of our way to this hotel would be the best decision. It's in a shopping center with a great burger place, Target, and Cost Plus World Market. We were greeted by very friendly staff, walked to dinner, then walked to Target for a few incidentals, and then to Cost Plus for wine (I mentioned toddlers and a road trip). It was so easy and just what we needed. It's a regular hotel, clean, and with plenty of amenities. We didn't have any complaints and it was the best place for us to rest before heading to our final destination the next morning. Thank you. read more

I made a reservation at 4:00 on a Tuesday afternoon for the following day. My plans changed overnight, so I called the front desk at 8:00 Wednesday morning to cancel. I was then informed of their 24-hour cancellation policy. Considering I made the reservation less than 24 hours before my expected arrival, I don't see how that can apply. I'm paying $190 for a room I'm not able to use. I will not consider staying at this hotel in the future. read more

It's an OK hotel for the price and location. The lobby and common areas look nice and clean. The room was decent, beds comfortable, seemed a little worn and had a very slight smell. The heater/AC wall unit was a little noisy. The bathroom and shower were nice, clean and well stocked. read more
