This is absolutely THEE best cart I've had...better than "The Halal Guys" in the city and any other cart! The chicken is flavorful (a lot of the other carts have dry, bland chicken), and the lamb is always moist and tasty. You get a ton of food and a drink for $6 (Costco's $1.50 hot dog & drink is probably the only better deal around). The guys are friendly, and they've recently upgraded the "salad" to include a few wedges of tomato and cucumbers to go along with the lettuce. I don't mind this halal truck, it's not my first choice on the block but it had a shorter line given the time i was willing to wait that night. I got the falafel sandwich and my partner got the lamb and chicken combo over rice. Falafel sandwich- I wish i knew how heavy handed they would be on the sauce. It was soggy and too much of a mess to really enjoy. I just ate the falafel with a fork from the pita bread and tossed it. Falafel itself wasn't bad. Every few days I need a special lunch that differs from the regular chinese korean food in flushing. Not wanting any fast food like burger king or mcdonalds or fried chicken i come here seeking a change. I like their lunch box meal and usually stick with the lamb over rice or chicken over rice or gyro. If you want the best of both worlds get a combo of the lamb and chicken. The rich flavors of the meat with the shah seasoning and the flavorful rice are always satisfying. They give you a good portion even a side "salad" which is mostly just lettuce but thats okay I need some greens. some of the madina halal carts nowadays dont seem to have tomatoes for some reason which is the only downside. Because the gyro would taste a lot better with tomatoes but its still filling enough for me with a lot of meat that if not eaten properly will decorate the front of your shirt. If you get a rice meal you can ask to add pita. Its an extra charge but sometimes i like having the extra pita. They cut it up into triangular pieces and put it on top of your rice. They have bbq sauce and the white yogurt tzatziki sauce as well as their signature hot sauce. If you want a punch of spiciness to the mouth KAPOW! Then add more hot sauce. Just a little is good enough for me before my face turns red my nose starts running and I cant catch it and my insides shrivel up from the heat of this sauce. The yogurt sauce tones it down but its still pretty spicy. There is actually more than one cart-ones on main street near sanford by the other Duane Reade and one right in front of Macys on Roosevelt. The one on Roosevelt is a safe bet. They are usually still there even after I get out late off the train from work. very convenient. The one on main street i find their rice a little bit too soggy unless it was an off day for them. If you come too early they might not have the food prepped and ready yet and will have to wait 5-10 minutes. But you can grab a cheap drink that they sell while you wait. Decent Halal Cart for Flushing. The cart usually says Halal Express Food Cart. There are a number of different guys manning the grill depending on the day of the week. The Moroccan guy is my favorite, we have lengthy conversations but sometimes I don't understand what he's saying, but I just nod and smile. You can ask for a dollar extra meet or two dollar extra meat if you need that extra protein. The hot sauce is spicy but not nearly as spicy as 53rd and 6th. I tell the guy I want a lot of hot sauce, enough for my ass to burn the next day. He laughs and is happy to pour on the pain. The yogurt/white sauce as a pickly flavor to it. They also have a green sauce here but its unlike the cilantro/green peppery sauce that Sammy's offers. The green sauce is more comparable to a pickle relish. I could live without the green sauce. This cart also serves hard boiled eggs, if you ask. Only VIP know about the egg option. Their lamb is pretty good here as well. The rice is light and fresh. The meat isn't always tender here, maybe because of the low turn-over rate. If you put it in the microwave the next day it tastes even better than the day before. I like this halal cart better than Madina down the block, because their chicken is often over seasoned, and their rice is clumpy which implies that it is old. The lettuce is light and crunchy. The chicken is cubed and not shredded unlike that of Halal Guy's. The white sauce is so flavorful and the hot sauce is some next-level stuff(ask for it on the side). I remember when my friends and I tried to order here at 6PM, back in September, only to find that everything had been SOLD OUT for the day! They don't compare to The Halal Guys for sure. I can tell over time this place has slowly changed owners or workers or something. But a year ago it was deff much better than it is now. They use to be friendlier. Now it's strict business. And tonight the assistant doesn't really understand English so he's having a hard time. The food depends on when you catch them. It can either be really fresh or over cooked from sitting on the grill. Tonight there's more rice than chicken and the white sauce was scarce only on the pita really. I've never had problems parking in Pizza Hut. Maybe I've just been lucky. I do like this cart more than the other the other two directly across the street in either direction. This specific cart is not to be confused with the halal cart that is directly on Hillside Ave, this is the one located on Little Neck Parkway. Their prices are typical for halal cart food - $5 for either lamb, chicken or mixed over rice. Although it is an extra $1 for pita, it is well worth it. I have found that although they are a halal food cart, they have a great unique flavor yet still manage to keep the food typical to what you would expect. I have been coming here for a few months and have absolutely no complaints of the food - the location makes it tough to find parking without having to worry about getting towed or a ticket. On top of that, I am also handed a side of impoliteness and attitude. I find it very ironic that he only presents a change in my order after it is already made. It's main identifying factor is the Madina sign in blue on the side. After I placed my order for a mix plate however, I noticed that things were not as they seem. Their chicken was being marinated in some sort of godly broth that had the best of aromas. I thought to myself, "This place might not be too bad" After I brought the food home, I was very impressed with the quality and taste of the food. I thought this was the best halal cart food I had until I tried the one on Steinway & 34th Ave. Honestly, it is pretty good. It is closer to my house than Steinway which is convenient, and is cheaper ($5 for chicken and rice plus a free soda). They also take credit card at a $10 minimum. The rice is orange and the chicken itself does not taste good unless you douse it in white sauce. Their red sauce is really spicy (and trust me, I have a high tolerance for spicy food) so make sure you only get a little bit. Otherwise, you will be sitting in the bathroom, exploding. Chicken over rice ($5): 5/5 - Really like how the chicken isn't bland and it has flavor (unlike The Halal Guys). The rice tastes ok, their sauce is decent. Although 53rd and 6th gives you a buttload of food (sad b/c they increased it to $7 from $6), I constantly have to drench my food in their "mystery" sauce to make it taste less bland. The food cart nearest the Pizza Hut is by far the best. they give you good portions. we always get the lamb halal over rice. Very tasty after a hard days work in Manhattan. $5 you can get lamb or chicken or combination($6) and a soft drink or water. highly recommend this place. DO NOT PARK IN THE PIZZA HUT PARKING LOT DURING THE DAY. PIZZA HUT IS RUNNING A SCAM WERE YOUR CAR GETS TOWED and then you have to pay an heafty fee to get your car back. The tow truck driver told my friend that the Pizza Hut management gets half of the fees they collect from the towing charges.I Assume the management of Pizza Hut are doing this because they are just mad that no customers go there because of the bad food and equally horrible service. read more

This review is for the cart on 39th Street, in front of Queens Crossing Mall. I got the Chicken over Rice. The chicken was fine, the white sauce was fine, the salad (obviously) was fine. But the rice? The rice tasted like it was boiled with cinnamon. I tried very hard to enjoy the food, but this strong cinnamon taste kept turning up.
