Terrible service. I recently came here with a friend for dinner. When they took our order we specifically told them we wanted to start with a dish and a vegetable and asked if they could come back to so that we order our main dishes, which they agreed to. They never came back, never stopped by our table. The only time they returned to our table was to give us the check. What we ordered was ok (dan dan noodles and bok choy with mushrooms) but we definitely wanted to order more food. This restaurant gets 5 stars for the waiters and waitresses because they are kind , friendly and supportive . Our waitress explained the menu to us and suggested we share the plates because they were huge. We decided to take her advice and I was so glad we did because the portions of food were enough to fill us to the rim . We ordered Kung Pao Chicken , Chicken Fried Dumplings , Pork fried Rice, Fried Chicken Wings and the Happy Hour drinks which ended at 7:00. The best part of our meal was the drinks and the Chicken Fried Dumplings. Oh my goodness those dumplings were the best dumplings I have ever had in my life . The chicken was completely cooked and well seasoned . The Kung Pao Chicken was a bit chewy and full of peanut and peppers . It is a cute little spot located off of the stop of DeKalb station. Great place to grab a bite to eat after shopping in the area. Food is family style which is great for the $$. The ambiance of the restaurant and the staff were great. Sadly the food was terrible. It came out from the kitchen less then 5 minutes after taking our order. Everything tasted like it was from a can and in a giant vat of sauce. I got the crispy rice, which had a few soggy peppers and puffed rice cakes. Husband got the dry pepper chicken which came out warm temperature and really greasy in thick batter and tiny pieces of meat that were overpowered by the overfried batter. Nothing really stood out in my opinion. We ordered the Dan Dan noodles - which were incredibly spicy and had a hint of peanut-y aroma - not sure why the waiter didn't alert us or remind us, not even ask if we had allergies? I've come here countless times. Here's what stands out: the people at Han Dynasty treat everyone like family. Literally I know everyone by name and as soon as I enter, am greeted by familiar faces. Service really is spot on. Yes you can get solid Sichuan food elsewhere in New York. But the service here knocks all other options out of the park. Kevin, Robin, Johnny, Mike, Gina and Carl do a terrific job in making guests feel at home. The food is amazing - tasty, big sized portions with the option to increase the spice level up where needed. Chef is extremely accommodating: one time my wife was craving just some simple steamed veggies and they brought it out no fuss. My go tos are the Kung pao chicken, cumin style chicken and pickled chili shrimp. The beverage program is awesome. Seriously they have better drinks relative to most high end pubs I go to. Great beer (Kevin's constantly in search for the best beers to pair with the food and they work). Great cocktails. Ask for Mike or Gina. They seriously rock. I've been coming here for quite some time and it's a go-to favorite, since it's so close to home. The first visit was quite entertaining, I got the idea to ask for spiked bubble tea (you know, when one craves the sugary delightfulness of bubble tea, and also vodka). After consulting the bartender and the tea prep folks, it worked out! The key, I'd say, is to do the non-milk bubble tea and stick to clear liquors. Oh, the food is also on-point. I love the double-cooked style pork, the dry pepper chicken wings and the pea leaves with garlic are pretty much the only things I order from them - dine-in or takeout or delivery. I thought since I've been on Yelp for so long, am buzzed off of a large coffee, and even more buzzed after drinking one of their new-ish giant fishbowls of tasty booze-punch (great addition to the menu guys!), that it's high time I write my first review, and why not start with the place which gives me the happiness and fuel through their food and drink to put up with shopping in the Trader Joe's ten feet away which has a level of crowding and noise on the weekend that can only be compared to that of a factory farm for KFC chicken. Han Dynasty has killer food. For some people, who, for lack of a better term I'll refer to simply as weiners, "killer" may be slightly literal, as the heat of some food can be too much for them to handle. I admit, this used to occasionally be the case for me, but my tolerance grew with each subsequent visit. Now level 10 spiciness isn't enough. It's very good, but not enough. Han Dynasty's food has made me stronger. The reward of which is being able to discern more flavors within each dish. As one of the friendly (and sexy) employees said when I mentioned this to them, "Welcome to the club." Gahdamn, these guys get it. There's a lot of these aforementioned flavors to choose from: cumin-style lamb, beef in spicy sour pot, double-cooked pork belly, cold beef tendons in chili oil and dan dan noodles are all dishes I can happily eat again and again. I try to resist and on the times when I can force myself to try something new, I'm never disappointed. Take my advice and do what I did last time, bring at least three friends to try more dishes. The portions are generous as well. In a market hall where a sandwich can cost $3 less than a full entree here, this spot seems like the best value in the space. Good luck leaving hungry. Today I had the Dan Dan Noodles that have ground pork, scallions and peanut sauce with some others special ingredients like sesame oil and spicy paste, scallion pancakes that are super crispy and delicious, and pork belly buns that are amazing!!! Umm. This was overall an odd experience. My boyfriend and I got the dried pepper style chicken and the string beans. The dried pepper style chicken was terrible. It was just bits and pieces of friedness. No chicken. No meat. No good. When I asked the waiter what was the most popular, he said this one was...And I can't comprehend that at all. The spice level was good, but the concept of that being the best dish doesn't make any sense. The string beans were pretty solid. The taste was good, but the string beans were a bit undercooked. Needed a little more time. THE SERVICE: Supposedly there were no busboys, so no one cleaned our table. And I understand if it was busy, but it was pretty dead. Also, when our waiter came over he was so angry about how there were no busboys and vented it out to us. We can also see him getting heated as he walked away. Yes! I am glad I finally stopped in to try Han Dynasty in the Dekalb Market before a movie. The food was great and the portions are big, so the higher prices aren't as bad. I love the spicy fish hot pot. It packed some heat but not enough that you can't handle it if you like spice (it was rated 10 out of 10 for spicy on the menu - don't be scared!). We also got double cooked pork, which is basically a bacon belly extravaganza with some leeks to make you feel like you are eating some greens. Both were salty and delicious, but not too salty - and we have leftovers that didn't last long in our fridge. The service is just ok. It is annoying to be sitting with empty water glasses or for your check when staff is sitting at the bar or chatting. I am glad to have some nice spicy (non-takeout) Chinese food in the area. read more

My first time eating from here today, and I ordered via Caviar. My girlfriend ordered the spicy garlic sauce shrimp and I ordered the scallion style chicken and the chili oil wontons. Everything was delicious and very flavorful, certainly fresh. A few criticisms though: GF's shrimp were overcooked and took a bit of chewing. She ordered it at the spice level of "extra spicy" and it was what we would consider mild. (I'd call it ytppo spicy. If you know, you know. ) My chicken was tasty, but came with way too many onions and the sauce wasn't as thick as shown in the photos of their food. Still tasty though. A bit confused about whether the entrees come with rice or not because they gave us only one container of rice despite us each ordering our own entree. Nevertheless it was enough rice for us to share. The chili oil wontons were super delicious. I ordered them at medium spice level and it came extra spicy, lol. I don't mind that though. I had some curiosity surrounding the filling for the wontons and the menu doesn't tell you what's in it. From what I tasted, it was a sausage like ground pork filling. Very tasty! This is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in Brooklyn. The staff is always so nice, the food is INCREDIBLE and very well priced! They also have an amazing lunch menu with smaller portions of select menu items ranging from $10-$13. My personal favorites are the hot sauce beef and the beef lo mein. The regular entree items are around $20 and are more of a family style size which are a great sharing option for groups. I also like that the menu items can be customized to your liking on spicy levels ranging from 1-10. If you're a fan of bubble tea, they also offer a variety of flavors and tapioca options, but my go to is the lychee bubble tea with regular tapioca which never disappoints! Overall, I don't have anything bad to say about this place and it will continue to be one of my go to spots! read more

Came here for lunch during the week at around 11:45. We were seated immediately but the place began filling up soon after. They had lunch sets (dry pepper chicken and twice cooked pork), so we got two of those, along with the scallion pancakes and the house fried rice. The pork was good, but the chicken was a little too fried. I felt like the chicken was more batter than actual chicken. The scallion pancakes were alright, nothing special. I think the most disappointing was the fried rice. They called it a Yangzhou fried rice, but it really wasn't. It was missing a few key ingredients, like the barbeque pork. The rice is a little soft but still good. Also spicy wantons in Chile oil are good. I was disappointed by the the beef noodle soup. It's bland. The broth tastes like water with hot sauce added only.
