.....wifey had to work late and there was no prep for dinner... ...am I gunna cook? nope!....kids where do you wanna go????.... ....dad? do you remember that place we went to after the camping trip?!?!?!... ....HanJu it is!!!....it was quiet in the restaurant...there was only one other table with customers... ....the boy ordered BBQ beef on rice and a lychee tea...the girl ordered fried chicken on rice....I ordered wontons with chili oil, tomato beef noodles and a mango tea... ....food came fairly quickly... the beef in my noodles were a bit over done....the broth did not taste like it was homemade...the wontons seemed like they were microwaved to warm up... ...the kids meals were a different story...everything on their plates were very well done and tasty... ...this is a fill your tummy for a quick lunch or dinner with a small family....not a take your date place... ....I think I will only go back if my kids beg me to take them....

Just been here wth a few family members for lunch. They both ordered a seafood hot pot while I ordered a BBQ beef with rice, which contained the beef and rice, a bit of vegetables, an egg, and what I believe to be a miso soup. The verdict is that the food ended up tasting pretty alright but the problem is that the rice needs to be slightly fluffier if that makes any sense because it just tasted like one of those rice that would harden too quickly if you don't eat it RIGHT AWAY. That might suggest that they didn't add enough water in their rice cooking method. While this place isn't really all that special, but it sure is conveniently located by a mall. This is a okay place to check out if all you want is a quick bite of Korean/Chinese cuisine.

Cash only. Saw the reviews for Han Ju Tofu and thought they were pretty decent for Crystal Mall area. Small place just facing the Kingsway entrance that offers a sit down spot for those who aren't interested in fighting for a spot in the nearby food court. Unfortunately, the prices have gone up since the last few menus have been posted putting the meal to around $15 with the tax and tip. The food here isn't bad but it's not quite impressive either. Noodle in soup with rice combo was pleasant but nothing you can't make yourself at home. There's a decent selection of items to pick from at the very least. Overall, this place is fine if you need to get something to eat but don't expect too much if you're looking to beat the food and tastes of the Crystal Mall food court. The option to sit down is nice but for a similar price there are better places elsewhere.

Had Han Ju Tofu Hot Pot long times again. I was not really like it when I first time tried. Few days ago, my coworker and I had lunch at Han Ju Tofu hotpot again. We had a great experience eating there. Han Ju Tofu Hot Pot is an Asian restaurant located on Kingsway in Crystal Mall. The food in this restaurant is cheap, so it always has lots of people eating here. Since the restaurant is nearby my work, I had lunch with my coworker at this place around lunch time. The restaurant looks different from last I was there. Inside the restaurant is small and clean. Since we arrived at the restaurant early. We got a table and began ordering our lunch fast. I had Korean Style Kimchi Noodle and my coworker had Sesame oiled Chicken Soup with Thin Noodles. Both of our food came out of the kitchen fast. The soup was boiling hot. and the taste was great. The price of the food was cheap under $10. Highly recommend people to have a try.

Came here to check out their lunch special. Parking is available underneath in that circular mess of a parking lot (Crystal Mall). The inside is fairly beaten up and crappy, which means it's the real deal. Another good sign is the large number of Korean student-types eating here. The combos are no-frills, and straight up cheap comfort food. A hot pot can be had for $6-7, which consists of some kind of flavoured broth/soup (spiciness can be adjusted), and a bowl of rice. The food is beautifully served on a cafeteria-style tray. Fit for a king. The food tastes quite home-cooked, with nice pieces of tofu and meat. Korean comfort food is awesome. What more can I say.

Have been going here for years and get their seafood tofu pot every time. You can choose your spice level. The rice dishes are pretty good too along with all the classic Taiwanese side dishes.

    * Cash only Pros: economic price, most menus are tasty, descent service, easy to find parking (street/crystal mall) Cons: could be easy on the garlic Would come again

Is it weird that some of my favourite Asian restaurants in the greater Vancouver area are found in (Asian) malls? Crystal Mall has one of the best food courts in terms of Asian cuisine (besides Aberdeen Center in Richmond). Though Han Ju isn't technically in the food court I absolutely LOVE this place! Fast service, dirt cheap prices, and (most importantly) delicious noodle soups! The KOREAN-STYLE NOODLE POTS with kimchi (either udon or glass noodle, depending on my mood) are friggin' A-MAZ-ING (http://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/vibsz2gppsFSwz03XEAymQ?select=-_wBUK4XJlF3uP0Npb1CDg). I get them every time I come. The kimchi adds a nice hot-and-sour-ness and are cooked in the broth long enough that the flavour really penetrates the soup. It's all about the broth for me - I drink every single drop and would gladly take the thirst (and hypertension) it eventually causes. The pots also come with tofu, egg, pork slices (yum-yum!), shrimp, squid, and mussel (though the last three are often overcooked). I've also had the sesame-oil chicken noodle soup. This was good too, but doesn't quite compare to the incredible Korean-style pots. The kimchi & KOREAN-STYLE BBQ PORK with rice (http://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/vibsz2gppsFSwz03XEAymQ?select=xLDEp6ppRE4DtS1H9hNVgg) is another favourite. The pork is marinated perfectly and is soooo flavourful (this applies to the pork in the noodle pots as well). I like the spicy tofu and cabbage that comes with it too. They also have a number of Taiwanese appetizers (like marinated pig ear, seaweed, spicy tofu, http://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/vibsz2gppsFSwz03XEAymQ?select=AeKOWiTwBO71rHMv1i68QQ) for $1.75-2.5. My favourite is the SEAWEED (http://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/vibsz2gppsFSwz03XEAymQ?select=H7X2Q6aEdW31G-E-SrJQMA) - slightly slimy and very crunchy soft! I live in San Francisco now, but every time I go back to Vancouver (which, luckily for me, is quite frequently) I gots to get me some Han Ju! This is my kind of comfort food. I'm craving some now just writing about it...

    BBQ Pork on Rice (9.75)
    Brent L.

I had heard some rave reviews about Han Ju and had high hopes for their rice dishes and lunch specials. I ordered the BBQ Pork on Rice (9.75). The meat was decently tasty and juicy and it came with some stewed bok choy and cabbage on a thin bed of rice. When I say thin I mean like REALLY thin...I know it doesn't cost an arm and a leg or anything but one would expect to get a little more food than what was presented. The food itself was alright, though I think you might have a better experience within Crystal Mall's food court itself.

possibly a 4 to those who appreciate this kind of QSR asian style, for sure you can't beat the value here for all of their core entrees under $7! Can see why this place gets packed. Ordered the minced pork, tofu, egg, and veggies over rice; like i said, one can prob. get this in Richmond, dime a dozen. It's clean, and friendly staff, so will return if i'm in the mood for it and in the area. free parking in Crystal Mall.

The first thing you notice is wood hard wood flooring and wood panels on the wall. This is newly renovated sometime in 2016. It seems rather clean and cramped. Food and price: food quality has deteriorated over the past 3 years while price has increased. If you're looking for a good Taiwanese style tofu soup, this is a decent place to go. Washroom is co-ed with double stalls. Can be awkward if someone of the opposite gender is in there at the same time.

There is an extra charge of the sauce bar, about $3 plus dollars. That includes dessert & their yummy congee as part of the sauce bar. There's even a show presentation on a popular Chinese mythology figure, The Monkey God. A thoroughly enjoyable meal. Service is prompt & good, our server Elvis was attentive & most helpful. Pro tip: There is free underground parking at the restaurant. After 6pm, you can park at CIBC parking stalls underground. The Deluxe AYCE is only $3 more per person so with the 20% late night deal my boyfriend and I decided to try it out. What we found is much higher beef quality and lamb that rivals what higher tier hot pot spots like DolarShop provide. My boyfriend loves the snack bar and we discovered there are two separate snack bars in the restaurant that has different food - one has desserts, spring rolls, chicken wings, and deep fried buns. The other has cold appetizers, noodles, curry fish balls, and lamb shanks. The original house soup base is really tasty and the service here is quick and pretty friendly. The only downside is that the restaurant is not well vented so be prepared to smell like hot pot from head to toe. Regular deluxe AYCE is $34.99 per adult for dinner and end of the meal includes complimentary ice cream. They also have some unlimited drink refills that are pretty reasonable prices for around $3.99/person. Solid hot pot place and the great thing about this restaurant is they don't rush you out when your time limit is up.

Spicy was traditional Chinese spicy (so pretty spicy) but both are flavorful. The lamb and beef meats were good. The inside was nice and clean. They had a small buffet style section where you could grab toppings and certain side items. I guess they only put certain items out at a time and don't refill it when they run out. We ordered the Chinese Donut, as we got the last 2 in the buffet style area, but the guy came back and said they are all out. So it seems like they don't make more after a certain point. Parking seems a bit bad. We are not familiar with the area and planned to go to the nearby mall afterwards, so we ended up paying for parking at the mall across the street. From the looks of it, they only really have street parking available. We paid in advanced for the happy hour price before happy hour ended. That all being said, the service was subpar. It was okay at first, but then we ordered more meat and fast forward 20 minutes, it still had not come out. It the took a minute to find a flag down a worker, but we asked once again. It felt like only had 1 (maybe 2) actual server on the floor. We waited like 5 more minutes before ultimately just leaving. I'm not sure what happened since they were pretty empty (customer wise), but it heavily ruined the experience. If you go, I hope your experience is better!:)
