Savory, perfectly cooked noodles. Good texture from the dumplings. Nice setting on the inside makes it feel more upscale than the prices. Fast service. No complaints! We ordered a la carte so next time we'll try the ayce menu. Located steps away from the nearest metro station.

Do not go here! They literally don't cook anything from scratch here. The pan fried chicken and vegetable and pan fried beef and vegetable dumplings are frozen BIBIGO dumplings they just reheated. The scallion pancakes are also store bought and drenched in oil, basically uneatable. I was shocked at how rude the waitress was, when my friends and I ordered our meal or just tried to ask for the bill, she was obviously annoyed. There was a table next to us with small kids that she glared at the whole time and replaced their plates with styrofoam plates... This restaurant is not authentic and there weren't any other asian customers. The menu says salted fish on it and when we asked what kind of fish it was, the waitress said it was a big fish, but then the chef came out and said it was fish SAUCE not real fish. The wontons in my wonton soup were cold in the middle. So disappointed, my group ordered a lot of food and wasn't satisfied with the meal so we ended up going to a different restaurant across the street afterwards.

This is a cute, quaint space with excellent service and quality food. I had time restrictions do the staff advised most times could be served in 10 to 15 minutes. The server was patient with any questions regarding the menu. I ordered the egg rolls and general tso shrimp (not on the menu). If you see something you like but prefer different meat or vegetable preferences they may be able to accommodate you. The egg rolls were standard but the sauce was tastless below par. A generic duck sauce tastes better. Typically places on this scale have a better quality sauce with a nice balanced flavor. The general tso shrimp was a good portion, sizeable shrimp and had a good flavor.

One of the best dim sum places! Drinks are yummy, food is amazing, and now I hear they do an all you can eat option. Obviously I'll have to go back for all you can eat. This is a must stop if you are in the area! Great decor and atmosphere and the staff were friendly and helpful with what their favorites were!

I had a great lunch here with my friends, exceeded my expectation. The decoration was traditional Chinese, good taste, pleasant and comfortable. We ordered several dim sums and some entrees. They were all good and delicious. I'm most impressed with 5*steamed CHILEAN SEA BASS 清蒸鱈魚: tender and delicious. 4.5*SALT & PEPPER SHRIMP椒盐虾球: very good and not salty at all. Just right. Every dish was good, i ended up eating too much. I had a great experience with here with the outstanding service and food.

THE BOTTOMLESS LEMON DROPS???? COME HEREEEEEE. THE DUMPLINGS WERE AMAZING EVERY SINGLE KIND. the mai tai was insaneeee so good and cheap and they're generous with the liquor. the drinks were too good. the general tsos chicken was to die for and i do not like chinese food at all but this was TOP tier. i would have never eaten here if my friends didn't recommend cause its not my type of food, but im so glad i came. the service was amazing the people there are so sweet and attentive. the restaurant was beautiful .

Stopped by here to treat my parents to dimsum brunch on Saturday morning. The indoor dining area is limited in space, but the inside decor is quite nice. The outdoor seating area was not open when we were there. We arrived about ten minutes after the restaurant was slated to open; however, we were seated immediately. I'm glad we arrived when we did though as the dining area was full, and there was a short wait for those that were arriving as we were on our way out. There did not appear to be a "bottomless" dimsum option, but we were able to build a nice spread (Apologies for the limited number of photos. I was distracted by the food when it came out, and I failed to take more photos.) from the menu to include a dish from the vegetable section and a dish from the noodle section. The food came out quickly, and it was all delicious. We stopped here after walking around the National Zoo. It was a great way to end our day out and about town.

I think Han Palace serves its purpose. By that, I mean to say it definitely brings a different version of "Chinese food" to a non-Chinese neighborhood. The food is 100% inauthentically Chinese but it's also not Americanized Chinese food. The taste wasn't bad and the visuals resembled Chinese food! There were lots of curious culinary missteps; so let's dive in! Misstep #1: the salty fish fried rice was WAY too salty and that made the overall taste subpar. But the saving grace of this dish was that every other component works! The eggs, chicken, and scallions were spot on! If this dish just removed the salty fish, then the dish would have been perfect. So why not just drop the salty fish in its entirety? Misstep #2: the steamed chicken feet was too sweet. This dish CAN be sweet but you have to counterbalance the sweetness with other flavors. The dish that I received was, unfortunately, a bit too sweet. Highlight: everything else about the dish was great (nice texture, spot on with the marination, not oily or greasy) Misstep #3: pork ribs were way too oily. When you steam a pork rib, fatty oil will naturally ooze out of the ribs. The restaurant made the mistake of over-marinating the ribs with too much oil. The taste was good minus the oily part. Misstep #4: I didn't even taste the bean curd in the "Bean Curd with Beef Ball." IDK if the bean curd was suppose to come with the dish or go inside of beef balls. Highlight, the beef ball tasted great though. Bright spots; chow fun and gold/purple yolk buns were amazing. Also, four dim sum dishes + a chow fun + a fried rice for $61 (post tax) is nicely priced. The portions were also fair for the price and location. The service was superb. The staff members were attentive and warm. So to summarize: taste was inconsistent, service was great, and one can expect to eat food that looks like Chinese food but is actually disguised as some other food. Overall, 2.5/5 bumped up to a 3/5.

Han Palace in Woodley Park, with additional locations in Georgetown and McLean, has become a go-to dim sum spot for many, thanks to its alluring happy hour and bottomless drink deals. Despite the unassuming exterior--nestled quietly among other "ethnic-adjacent" spots like Nando's and Indian restaurants--the interior is beautifully decorated. Hanging plants, warm ambient lighting, and Chinese-style calligraphic art adorn the walls. The fun tiled bar showcases a plethora of alcoholic beverages and features large flat-screen TVs broadcasting sports and news. While they don't take reservations, you can call ahead to inquire about wait times. On a Saturday night at 6pm, our party of six only waited about five minutes for a table. Our server was brusque, asking for our orders within two minutes of seating us (we needed more time). The dim sum menu, though not as extensive or authentic as other places and a bit pricier, features a mix of Americanized entrees, vegetarian-friendly fare, and traditional noodles, rice dishes, and vegetables. Dishes started arriving about 10 minutes after we ordered, which was fairly quick. We began with the Shrimp Dumpling ($5.50 for 3 pieces), which were small, with an oddly textured shrimp filling that lacked seasoning. However, the rice flour wrapper was well-made. The Pork Dumpling with Fresh Crab Roe ($5.50 for 3 pieces), or Siu Mai, was decent--juicy pork with a nicely formed wrapper, though the crab roe was barely noticeable. The Steamed Chicken Claws ($5.50) were a standout deal, offering a generous amount of marinated chicken feet with a good balance of skin and cartilage. The Roasted Pork Buns ($6.95 for 3 pieces) had a soft, pillowy bun, but the filling was an odd mashed texture that didn't taste much like pork. The Soup Dumplings ($11.95 for 6 pieces) were liked by some but failed to impress, especially given the high price. The Scallion Pancake ($4.95) was well-received for its crispy texture. Among the entrees, the Lo Mein dishes (starting at $14.95) provided a large amount of noodles but skimped on the meat. They were enjoyable but no better than typical Chinese takeout. The General Tso's Chicken ($18.95) was generously portioned and tasty but nothing special. The Ma Po Tofu ($15.95) was a highlight, offering a delectably spicy dish with silken tofu in a rich sauce, and my friend appreciated the leftovers. The Crispy Roasted Pork ($15.95) had a rich, fatty flavor but was disappointingly thin and small in portion. The Garlic Chinese Broccoli ($15.95) was extremely bland and swimming in oil, making it a poor value. However, the Purple Gold Yolk Bun ($6.95 for 3 pieces) was a delightful end to the meal, with its unique lilac color, soft dough, and rich custard filling. Overall, Han Palace offers a pleasant dining experience with a beautifully decorated interior and quick service. However, the food lacks authenticity, the prices are high, and the service is brusque. While it's not a bad spot for a casual meal, you might be better off seeking more authentic dim sum at places like Da Hong Pao, or venturing further out into Virginia to quell your fix.

Purple Gold Yolk Buns 5/5 (top). Shrimp & Chive 4.5/5 (top left). Soup dumplings 4.5/5 (lower right). Shrimp dumplings 4.5/5 (bottom left).

Considering it's all you can eat, their quality is INSANE. Their menu options were pratically ENDLESS considering my all time favorite peking duck is on the menu here?! Seriously, this place is a gem. Han Palace "Unlimited Tasting Menu" offers 2 options.. Option A: has selected menu options for $38 per person. Option B: has the entire menu selections for $48 per person. (this option has filet mignon and duck!) This location has the sweetest and most attentive staff. Everyone was so welcoming and genuinely outgoing, and our food came out impressively fast. It's another perfect example of how exceptional an AYCE experience can be when quality truly comes first. Every dish was flavorful, thoughtfully prepared, and honestly spectacular. The Star Of The Show: Han Style Peking Duck: The Han-style Peking duck was beautifully prepared, served with house-made hoisin sauce, fresh scallions, cucumbers, and soft pancakes that made each bite perfectly balanced. Han Style Filet Mignon: A generous, thick-cut filet mignon that's exceptionally juicy and flavorful, enhanced by a rich sweet-savory marinade that complements the cut beautifully. Pork Spare Ribs (Kingdom sauce): Perfectly tender mini ribs glazed in a bold, savory black bean sauce that adds depth and richness to every bite. Mapo Tofu: An absolute favorite, oily spicy sichuan sauce with soft silken tofu. It's perfectly paired with a bowl of white steamed rice! Purple Gold Yolk Bun: A delicious balance of sweet and savory flavors, featuring a rich, salty egg yolk custard filling wrapped in a pillowy-soft ube bun. Absolutely addicting. Brown Sugar Crystal Dessert: Truly a childhood comfort dessert. Clear jelly agar served with a clean sweet brown sugar syrup. It is served cold, and topped with tamarind candy bits. Stuffed Crab Claw: These are hands down the biggest stuffed crab claws I've ever seen/tasted. They're incredibly juicy and moist, making them absolutely worth ordering! The meat is succulent and generously packed, with perfectly balanced flavors in every bite. Pair it with their chili oil and it's pure perfection. They definitely do not skimp on the meat here! Other items we got: Crispy Eggplants, Crispy Beef, Salt & Pepper Tofu, Hot & Sour Soup, Scallion Pancakes, Pork Rib w/ Garlic, Soup Dumpling, Shrimp Dumpling (Har Gow), Chinese Broccoli, Crab meat asparagus soup, and Sake (served in a beautiful cherry blossom glassware). This place was mentioned on Tik-Tok and I could see why it's so popular! Thankfully, we were seated right away and had the best table to sit at. Our table overlooked the outside, and it was such a beautiful and perfect birthday lunch for my husband. Thank you Han Palace for making this experience so memorable! My friend is craving dim sum after being in the country, visiting from Hong Kong for 3 weeks. My friend is quite tan, his mom is Filipino, but he grew up in HK and speaks mostly canto and Tagalog. We tried speaking Cantonese to the staff who are speaking it to each other, so they clearly can. My friend has perfect Cantonese. Mine is ok but I am also very clearly Chinese. They replied in broken English instead. One waitress looked at my friend and handed us forks. So clearly, some racism/colorism in the staff. Context: lots of Filipinos in HK are maids and generally looked down on, so not surprised this happened here. The food was mushy and gross. The shrimp in the cheung fan was grayish. It felt like they had this ready early in the morning and reheated it for later. Siu mai was falling apart. Cha siu bao was good but how do you mess that one up? I've gotten take out from this place before in the past and I always forget why I try to not come here, they forget something every time. At this point I'm sure they're doing it on purpose, like little thieves. Anyway, this place has the advantage of being close, with so little dim sum options in the area, unless you want to make the trip to Tysons or Vienna. Or Maryland. One staff member was laying down on a bunch of chairs nearby loudly watching something on her phone. Any other day, I wouldn't complain about that, everyone deserves a break. But given the food quality and the clear racism in the staff, they should be called out for everything. As with any Asian restaurant, feel free to treat me like trash if the food is good. But this place fails in both places.
