the bottomless cocktails at this location are STRONG. You won't see the promotion on the menu but once you get to the restaurant, it's on a black sign outside the restaurant. THEY WALK AROUND FILLING YOUR CUP WHEN YOU'RE ALMOST DONE so it feels like you never really finish your first one. The food was good, didn't take long for us to start eating after placing an order. We had the pan-fried dumplings which were delicious, dry beef chow fun and the orange chicken with 2 bowls of white rice for each of us. All the food is honestly made to share here, and we left FULL. they don't take reservations; it's first come first serve on who they seat but they do their best to make sure you're accommodated if they have room for you.

Han Palace Woodley Park is a convenient location for the surrounding area since most traditional Chinese restaurants are near downtown DC or elsewhere. This is a much needed addition to the Connecticut Ave corridor which lacks authentic Chinese restaurants and especially Dim Sum (brunch small plates). I hope that there are more choices like this in the near future for this surrounding area which lacks good traditional Chinese restaurants. The parking can be daunting since it still is in DC, might have a bit of a walk but that is everywhere in DC. The food was fast and had some unique choices that are not on a standard menu.

Savory, perfectly cooked noodles. Good texture from the dumplings. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice setting on the inside makes it feel more upscale than the prices.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Fast service. No complaints! We ordered a la carte so next time we'll try the ayce menu. Located steps away from the nearest metro station.

Do not go here! They literally don't cook anything from scratch here. The pan fried chicken and vegetable and pan fried beef and vegetable dumplings are frozen BIBIGO dumplings they just reheated. The scallion pancakes are also store bought and drenched in oil, basically uneatable. I was shocked at how rude the waitress was, when my friends and I ordered our meal or just tried to ask for the bill, she was obviously annoyed. There was a table next to us with small kids that she glared at the whole time and replaced their plates with styrofoam plates... This restaurant is not authentic and there weren't any other asian customers. The menu says salted fish on it and when we asked what kind of fish it was, the waitress said it was a big fish, but then the chef came out and said it was fish SAUCE not real fish. The wontons in my wonton soup were cold in the middle. So disappointed, my group ordered a lot of food and wasn't satisfied with the meal so we ended up going to a different restaurant across the street afterwards.

This is a cute, quaint space with excellent service and quality food. I had time restrictions do the staff advised most times could be served in 10 to 15 minutes. The server was patient with any questions regarding the menu. I ordered the egg rolls and general tso shrimp (not on the menu). If you see something you like but prefer different meat or vegetable preferences they may be able to accommodate you. The egg rolls were standard but the sauce was tastless below par. A generic duck sauce tastes better. Typically places on this scale have a better quality sauce with a nice balanced flavor. The general tso shrimp was a good portion, sizeable shrimp and had a good flavor.

One of the best dim sum places! Drinks are yummy, food is amazing, and now I hear they do an all you can eat option. Obviously I'll have to go back for all you can eat. This is a must stop if you are in the area! Great decor and atmosphere and the staff were friendly and helpful with what their favorites were!

I had a great lunch here with my friends, exceeded my expectation. The decoration was traditional Chinese, good taste, pleasant and comfortable. We ordered several dim sums and some entrees. They were all good and delicious. I'm most impressed with 5*steamed CHILEAN SEA BASS 清蒸鱈魚: tender and delicious. 4.5*SALT & PEPPER SHRIMP椒盐虾球: very good and not salty at all. Just right. Every dish was good, i ended up eating too much. I had a great experience with here with the outstanding service and food.

THE BOTTOMLESS LEMON DROPS???? COME HEREEEEEE. THE DUMPLINGS WERE AMAZING EVERY SINGLE KIND. the mai tai was insaneeee so good and cheap and they're generous with the liquor. the drinks were too good. the general tsos chicken was to die for and i do not like chinese food at all but this was TOP tier. i would have never eaten here if my friends didn't recommend cause its not my type of food, but im so glad i came. the service was amazing the people there are so sweet and attentive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]the restaurant was beautiful[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] .

Stopped by here to treat my parents to dimsum brunch on Saturday morning. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The indoor dining area is limited in space, but the inside decor is quite nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The outdoor seating area was not open when we were there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We arrived about ten minutes after the restaurant was slated to open; however, we were seated immediately. I'm glad we arrived when we did though as the dining area was full, and there was a short wait for those that were arriving as we were on our way out. There did not appear to be a "bottomless" dimsum option, but we were able to build a nice spread (Apologies for the limited number of photos. I was distracted by the food when it came out, and I failed to take more photos.) from the menu to include a dish from the vegetable section and a dish from the noodle section. The food came out quickly, and it was all delicious. We stopped here after walking around the National Zoo. It was a great way to end our day out and about town.

I think Han Palace serves its purpose. By that, I mean to say it definitely brings a different version of "Chinese food" to a non-Chinese neighborhood. The food is 100% inauthentically Chinese but it's also not Americanized Chinese food. The taste wasn't bad and the visuals resembled Chinese food! There were lots of curious culinary missteps; so let's dive in! Misstep #1: the salty fish fried rice was WAY too salty and that made the overall taste subpar. But the saving grace of this dish was that every other component works! The eggs, chicken, and scallions were spot on! If this dish just removed the salty fish, then the dish would have been perfect. So why not just drop the salty fish in its entirety? Misstep #2: the steamed chicken feet was too sweet. This dish CAN be sweet but you have to counterbalance the sweetness with other flavors. The dish that I received was, unfortunately, a bit too sweet. Highlight: everything else about the dish was great (nice texture, spot on with the marination, not oily or greasy) Misstep #3: pork ribs were way too oily. When you steam a pork rib, fatty oil will naturally ooze out of the ribs. The restaurant made the mistake of over-marinating the ribs with too much oil. The taste was good minus the oily part. Misstep #4: I didn't even taste the bean curd in the "Bean Curd with Beef Ball." IDK if the bean curd was suppose to come with the dish or go inside of beef balls. Highlight, the beef ball tasted great though. Bright spots; chow fun and gold/purple yolk buns were amazing. Also, four dim sum dishes + a chow fun + a fried rice for $61 (post tax) is nicely priced. The portions were also fair for the price and location. The service was superb. The staff members were attentive and warm. So to summarize: taste was inconsistent, service was great, and one can expect to eat food that looks like Chinese food but is actually disguised as some other food. Overall, 2.5/5 bumped up to a 3/5.

Ask the Community - Han Palace

    Is there parking?

There isn't parking, and street parking is awful. I would say downright scary. You can park with your flasher on for a moment to run in and grab your food.

Do they offer all you can eat dim sum at this location, and if so do you know how much?

No, they only offer AYCE at the Georgetown location!

Do they do cart service here?

I don't think they offer cart service here as space is limited. When we went, we ordered everything a la carte. Super fresh and delicious dim sum!

How much is the the all you can eat?

I think it's $40 and only at the Barracks Row location

    Do they take reservations?

I don’t think they take reservations on Sunday dim sum. First come first serve

How long does brunch last on the weekends?

Not sure, possibly till 2pm. Is best to call them first

    Are there gluten free options?

    Yes.

Do they serve dim sum all day?

    Yes!!! All day menu

Do they sell beer and alcohol?

    Yes!

On top of that, our server had about as much personality as the napkin on the table. There was nothing outright wrong with the service, but it felt cold and disengaged. As a Michelin-recognized restaurant, the food absolutely lived up to the reputation. Unfortunately, the service didn't come close. If they matched the quality of the hospitality with the quality of the food, this would be an easy five-star experience.

I just hope it doesn't disappoint and makes me not want to order from them again. It was cinco de mayo so the service was very slow over an hour to get our food. But when it finally arrived it was surprisingly still warm enough for me to dig in to check out the flavor. It was some good lo mein not too greasy and has enough of all three proteins. Also, the lunch entrees came with a side of soup, which made this an even better deal (both were $13.95). While the food was delivered hot and packaged well, some of the items were great, and some fell flat due to texture issues. I really like the fried crab wontons, lo mein, and hot and sour soup. They hit the spot. I didn't enjoy the Hunan shrimp as the shrimp didn't taste fresh and had an odd texture to it. The eggplant also was overcooked so was somewhat a sloppy, dough like consistency when eating, which was kind of off putting. If returning, I would opt for the lo mein and soup.
