Horrific. Hands-down the worst Korean I've ever had. Tiny portions of overly salted...stuff. Kimchi didn't taste right (not sour, not spicy, just bleh), jap chae looked like good portion, but was just saltysaltysalty draped over pile of rice. Portion of rice that came with jigae was actually bigger than the soup...which had little to no flavor other than salt. read more

Decided to give this a try, problem with restaurants around UK is that they are usually over priced. I felt like this restaurant was not too expensive for what was provided. The restaurant is small but quiet, will wrought space between tables. Servers are very attentive to take your order, bring out food and drinks and to take away finished plates. Staff were very friendly. The kimchi and soup was nice starter, kimchi had good amount of spice, cucumber was refreshing. The soup had more flavor than usual. The soup was hot as heck, give it a second to cool down. The flavor was good and really enjoyed the egg, adding to creaminess with the tofu. I had mussels and shrimp. The shrimp was slightly over cooked. The mussels were a bit more fishy that usual. But over was tasty dish. The cinnamon iced tea was good, not sure if refills are provided or cost extra as it was not offered. But food did come out quickly. read more

A Lexington staple! I've been coming here for over a decade and there isn't a bad thing on the menu, although I usually order the spicy bulgogi, bibimbop, or steamed dumplings. They used to have great sushi, too! Quality food and great portions at a very reasonable price. Complimentary kimchi and miso soup with each meal. Small restaurant but the service is always fast and friendly. Highly recommend checking it out! read more

We have enjoyed creating a tradition of eating at Han Woo Ri before we go weeknight grocery shopping. It is our way of romanticizing a mundane activity. At this restaurant, the service and attention to detail make us feel welcomed and cared for. I have a food allergy to beef and pork, and the staff have gone above and beyond to make sure my meal is allergen free. They also bring us unlimited amounts of kimchi, probably more kimchi than one should consume on a daily basis. We love the environment in the restaurant and in the entire building of shops. Good Korean food, but super expensive. The food was flavorful, but I found the quality to be unimpressive, and the portion sizes to be small, for the price. They are also closed 3pm-5pm, which has been disappointing. They are still the best (and only) option for Korean food area. read more

Top notch! Highly recommended! We came to this place actually because we had fed up with the chicken dishes during our road trip. Did not really expect a lot at the beginning but it came surprisingly really good. We are a fan of Korean food and i can tell this restaurant serves authentic Korean food. We ordered Soon Do Boo Jigae, Pa Jun, and Dolsot Bibimbap. All of them are best. Even compared to some Korean restos in our place in the South. The only thing that makes it less authentic is having tempura, edamame, and sushis that give false Korean taste. I would change them to real Korean rolls / fries though like the kimbap. Another room for improvement is the korean set dishes, aka banchan, instead of only kimchi and miso soup (kimchi and miso soup are not really good match though). This will increase the Korean experience for dine in as well. Also a Korean bbq would be great, this would give different experience for the city as well. read more

This is my first Korean experience in Lexington. My friend took me here and it was really hard to tell if this was a restaurant from outside. The inside of the restaurant looked simple and the waiter was friendly and he showed us to our seats immediately. It is also close to campus, so good for a quick bite inbetween classes They start you off with a soup which I didn't like much. May be the soup is supposed to taste that way, but I am not a big fan. I order the spicy bulgogi which my friend suggested. It was served in a sizzling iron plate, and it was wonderful. The meat was well cooked, soft and tasty. The amount is less than a typical meal. But they also give you a small bowl of rice which makes up for it. read more

First time eating Korean. Had spicy bulgogi and haven't stopped craving it. I walked past this place countless times over the course of 8 years. Finally stopped in, and it makes me sad to realize how much I've missed out on. Service was fantastic. Ambiance is "eh". Really clean (outside might not give that appearance). 10/10 recommend, especially if you're near campus! read more

Wow! Although parking is rough in downtown Lexington, the two and a half block walk to get to this restaurant was so worth it! Really I would have walked 13 blocks if I knew what I was in for. Super nice staff and a very classy a casual atmosphere was the first thing I noticed. For dinner I ordered beef Bulgogi. The dish came with shredded carrots, thin sliced potatoes and a type of cabbage. I especially like the house made spicy sauce it reminded me of a stronger gochujang. We also had the vegetarian pan fried dumplings. These were extremely good and I could have sworn it was meat but it was tofu instead. Overall I would say that we will be back to try some more of Han Woo Ri's amazing food and welcoming vibe. We will certainly be back for more. read more

I've been here a few times now and it's always great. Cute and clean interior, consistent great service, and a great selection of Korean dishes to choose from. Today I ordered iced cinnamon tea, edamame, and bibimbab. The tea is delicious, sweet but not too much. Every entree comes with miso soup and kimchi, both of which are great little appetizers. The edamame was great and the bibimbab was amazing. Bibimbab is one of my favorite Korean dishes and Han Wo Ri does a great job at cooking it. read more

I always used to love coming here with friends and family! I only ordered the bulgogi or the Dol Sot Bibim Bab. Yum! So good and the prices are great! Service was quick and the place was always clean and a calm place to be. It's a great spot for lunch and a wonderful place to just hang out. It's not super huge, but I've never seen it all that busy. read more

Yum! I love Korean food... it's probably one of my favorite cuisines... and this place does not disappoint! They are not always open, it seems like a family owned business (?), so make sure it's open when you want to go! I do which they provided true banchan (all the little bowls), but I was still happy to have kimchi! I ordered the Soon Doo Boo which is a silky tofu soup, it was delicious. Very spicy but I like that. Let it cool down a bit when they bring it out, it's boiling at delivery and will burn the shit out of your mouth if you let it!! It had a few bites of seafood and whole egg in it, but lots of yummy tofu. Came with a side of rice, shredded potatoes, kimchi, and miso. Lots of food for a good price. Great service too. I absolutely love this place, the food is always amazing and the atmosphere is very welcoming and cozy. I have been a frequent customer here for a while now and I am writing this review because of the wonderful service I received today. Our waitress was very kind and extremely helpful when I had questions about some of the food I had never tried before. I came for lunch with my partner and decided I would order for the both of us. While I was waiting for him to join me she timed the food perfectly to come out when we were both at the table. She also offered more kimchi once I finished mine (which has never happened before). 10/10 food and 10/10 service, my partner and I both left today very happy. read more

We ordered the bulgogi, spicy bulgogi and seafood udon and everything was just mediocre. The bulgogies were ok but the seafood udon had no flavor, it was just spicy. This place isn't very authentic, definitely caters to the locals and college students. Service was great though. They were very attentive and the food came out fairly quick. read more

Wow Han Woo Ri has really stepped up its games over the years! I remember coming here a few years ago and not being impressed with the food. I revisited recently on a weekday with some friends and had a pleasant experience. In the past I had to go to the front to place my order, like a fast-food joint. This time upon entrance, my friends and I were seated by a waiter and ordered our food comfortably at our table. My Bulgolgi came with miso soup and rice. The ONLY banchan was kimchi and that was subpar. The Bulgolgi, though, really hit the spot! The beef was marinated with the perfect balance of sweet and savoriness. It was tender, flavorful, and not too greasy. I've never had potatoes with Bulgolgi before - I didn't care too much for them but they made an interesting combination. One of my friends had the Dol Sot Bibimbap and thoroughly enjoyed it as well. The stone pots and plates kept the dishes warm. The portion size was just right. Service was a bit slow but understandable - the place was packed at prime lunch time while there were only one or two waiters going around. Knowing myself, I'll probably revisit soon in to get my Korean fix. I have my eyes set on those Mochi ice cream - they would make the perfect ending to a satisfying meal. read more

After a long hike at red river gorge, we were more than ready for a delicious meal. Good thing we picked Han Woo Ri, because that's exactly what we got. We started out with the steamed dumplings which were very good. Eight large dumplings served just right, not overly chewy and very flavorful. Then we got the Dol Sot Bi Bim Bap as well as the spicy pork, both excellent. The pork and onions were a bit greasy which was probably the only set back, but overall perfectly seasoned. We finished off with a tasty desert, the green tea tempura ice cream. Overall the food was quite tasty, extremely affordable and the service was fantastic. read more

Update- this has become my absolute favorite restaurant in Lexington. My favorites are the Soon Du Bu and the fantastic roll. The mochi on the dessert menu is also fantastic. Every visit has been spectacular! This restaurant was excellent! I loved the atmosphere (kind of Indie-Chic).. The server was nice, and we didn't wait very long for our food. Everyone in my group was happy with their food (I can't remember the names of everything- one seafood soup, one beef and potatoes dish, one seafood and tofu sauce that you pour over rice, and one roll of sushi). The cinnamon tea was a little too sweet for my taste but my boyfriend liked it. I was very happy with this place and definitely plan on returning! read more

I did not browse the store, I went straight to the produce section, and of the four available packages of Thai Basil, I found only one that was semi-acceptable. It did have several leaves which would have to be discarded, but I needed this item and this was the second store I visited for this item, so I decided to purchase it as is. The cost of one small package of Thai Basil was $4.00, which is very high for the quantity, especially compared to other Asian Markets. Overall, with the lack of good customer service, the high produce price, and the poor quality of the produce, I will not be returning to this store.

Tonight my wife and I ate at the KPot to celebrate my son's birthday. He and his wife joined us. We were a party of four. I'll be honest, I didn't necessarily enjoy my time spent there. But here is the anomaly to my typical review. It wasn't because the establishment did anything wrong. It just wasn't my jam. I will be honest, I didn't see a lot of gray hair there. I'm pushing fifty and the crowd I saw was the 20-35 crowd. Some families but not the overwhelming demographic. It seemed more like single and mingle and bff night out kind of crowd. There's nothing wrong with that of course, but we don't really fit that demographic. So despite my own lackluster feelings, let me give an honest review here. What was good? Let's start there. Parking lot fairly large and well lit. Greeted at the door with a smile. Wait was about fifteen minutes. Bathroom...impeccably clean. Dining area, also very clean. Tables were clean and all stations worked. Seating was ample. The atmosphere is modern and retro. Waiters work alongside robots to provide food to the tables. It has a very contemporary ambience. Everything brought to the table was fresh and well presented. We purchased the K Pot and the barbecue so we could immerse ourselves in the complete experience. The food tased good. Here is what I didn't care for. First, when stuff was brought to the table, no one explained what each service was and we lost track of what was delivered to our table. We all kind of sat there trying to figure out which service had been delivered to the table and whose order had arrived. Four people cooking became a little chaotic to suit me. Again, just not my thing. I enjoy sitting down and relaxing while someone else cooks my meal. Doing so myself was not relaxing. I didn't like having to wait between courses to heat up the rest of my meal before eating it. Had I understood the concept better I may have timed my eating while cooking was being done, I don't know. The other thing that contributed to my lackluster experience was that all the sauces were listed using their traditional names, which gave me no indication of what they tasted like. Part of the fun I guess is experimenting, but again, I'd much rather just order something I know I enjoy eating. The guessing game was not something I found appellate. We also found that after awhile of eating and ordering, the waiter came around less often and our plates no longer were cleared by bus staff. We started to genuinely feel like we were subliminally being pushed out. Our waiter wasn't bad but nothing stood out per se about his service. I went for quite awhile with an empty drink and had to ask twice for the same refill. Given some of the spicy stuff I was trying, a fresh beverage would have been appreciated. Here is my honest take. If you like a modern and unique dining experience, this is a great place to go. It does not have a cozy or romantic feel. It is very "hip" atmosphere. I left full. I left having had a new experience in life. My family had a good time together celebrating my son's birthday. It was a win. The last thing I have to mention is price. My daughter in law had a ten dollar drink but other than that we all did standard soda or water drinks. Our bill was almost $200. Some may argue that's fair. It seemed a little high for food I had to cook on my own. I honestly probably won't be back, but that is no fault of this establishment. They run a clean friendly restaurant and it's worth eating there at the very least, once. For that reason I give it five stars! If this is your jam, you'll like jamming here. If it's not, you came you saw and you left full. If you didn't, it's your fault!

That's really what it's all about. A huge selection of meats and vegetables is available for both hot pot and the Korean bbq and it's hard to not just do both when you only have to pay $5 extra for the additional experience. I would suggest experimenting with different sauce combinations from the bar to go along with the bbq meats. Some of them are not flavorful at all without using sauces. I found the hot pot to be pretty flavorful, though. My only complaint about this place is that they don't really give you enough detail on how to pace yourself and order in phases instead of ordering everything upfront and being overwhelmed. It might have just been our server, but we felt the service was great although not enough detail was provided on how to cook the food appropriately. In the end, I love this place and think it's great if you are a meat lover. You can certainly get away with just all vegetables and rice/noodles as well. If I came here more often, I would devote each visit to just choosing a few specific meats so I could fully enjoy and avoid being overwhelmed.
