Definitely a hidden gem, at least for me. The restaurant is located in a small shopping center, the parking was okay. The inside of the restaurant looked elegant; I loved the dark interior and the fancy tables. They have an extensive menu, I had trouble choosing. They are fairly priced too. I ordered one specialty roll and it was delicious. Not only was it fresh, it was filling. I ended up paying less than $20 for a single meal; not bad for dinner time. My friend ordered a variety of items and everything was delivered quickly to the table. In the end they give you a delicious, tiny piece of cheesecake... I was pleasantly surprised. Craving Poke I went to Osaka. I had the Hawaiian Poke the last time, so I ordered the other poke bowl. There is no rice as in Hawaii, so I order a small bowl of rice on the side. I dined with my husband here tonight for the 3rd time. Always a fantastic experience. This evening we had the Angry Dragon roll and chicken lo mein. Delicious. Previously we came in for my husband's 50th birthday and they were so sweet. My husband blushed as they sang to him and it was hilarious. Very memorable . The food is great but the service here is fantastic. It seems like all the people who work here are just the best among us and I would recommend Osaka for that alone. Such sweet people. read more

That feeling is more than just nostalgia, however...because the real reason is feels like home is the owners. My experience at Osaka Japanese Restaurant (inside Holiday Inn hotel) was top-notch. The waitress was knowledgeable about the selections, and their suggestions were spot on. The grilled Thai Red Snapper was the absolute best, and the suggestion to have white rice to complement the tasty sauce covering the fish was excellent. The service time seemed to be a bit lagging. I loved the ambiance, which made the lag time a bit enjoyable. I will be visiting Osaka again. read more

Staff was nice, miso soup was good, but the sushi roll I got, which was a Philadelphia roll, was not great. The size was good, but the smoked salmon they put in it had a large vein of cartilage in every single piece making it hard to chew and swallow. I didn't try to send it back as I was tired and just trying to get something down so I could get back to my Airbnb and get some rest. I don't get up to Lexington very often, and next time I'll probably go somewhere else for sushi. read more

My freshman wanted to share some of her favorite places and this was one. The restaurant itself is somewhat bland decor wise and it's in a strip mall, but they were pretty busy on a Saturday between 3-4 pm, which is always a good sign. The food came out super fast. It was all excellent. My oishii roll was one of the better ones I've had. My daughter's chicken teriyaki came out on a sizzling platter. The chicken katsu was nice and crispy. My younger daughter ordered ramen and it was good, but a little bland according to my budding critic. Service was super attentive. Multiple people came by during the meal to refill waters, check to make sure the food was okay, quickly clear plates, box our left overs and bring the check. I like how many options are on the menu; lots of interesting and different rolls. Prices were reasonable, but we missed the lunch specials which would have been even better. read more

The only complaint that I have is the size of the restaurant...it's very small which is fine for small groups (we had 3), but not great when big groups are added in. Everything else was outstanding. The service was top notch & fast considering that they were packed. The menu is extensive, & the food was all wonderful. A fabulous find for sushi in Lexington! My fiancé and I went there for the first time a couple days ago and it was so lovely! The restaurant has a hole in the wall vibe (it's kind of in a random plaza strip lol) but the inside is cozy! The last few times I have had multiple people ask me if I was ready to order, how things were and what not. We have eaten a lot of different Asian food in Lexington. Japanese is our favorite when choosing a cuisine and Osaka is our favorite. Their menu is diverse and each time we order, we find something we love. We appreciate that there are more choices with fish and eel. We always order take out, which is easy using the app, and have never been disappointed when we open our bag, as our order is always complete and hot. Obviously, everyone else likes them because the restaurant seems to busy whenever we come in. That's a great sign. Loved it. We were visiting from out of town and my daughter picked sushi as her meal. My son can't have wheat, gluten or dairy. So finding gluten free sushi and Asian food can be difficult. The server was super knowledgeable and asked us if we needed gloves switched etc. They were fab and super helpful. He got sushi rice, hibachi chicken, hibachi broccoli, some shredded carrots, mango, and cucumber for a sort of fusion sushi bowl / hibachi. My daughter got a sweet potato tempura roll, tempura chicken with cream cheese and a mango roll We split I think the cowboy and 2 other rolls which Im blanking on the names.
