Like that all orders are made to order. Received all items nice and hot which I like and enjoy. Did not have any issue with the fruits and didn't have any issue with the customer service. "Lackluster" Me and my partner decided to stop by the Hana Banana today for a sweet treat. We both agreed we probably will not come back here to be honest. Upon entering it felt as if the store looked a little bit messy. Over the counter in the refrigerators you can see food and jugs of products not organized and thrown around. Even their counter where they put the toppings in looked really messy. It smelt great inside like crepes and waffles but the appearance just was too icky for me. Service was nothing memorable. Nothing horrible either so i have no qualms when it comes to that. The food itself was just fine. I know the waffle was dense and not that sweet. I appreciate the abundance of food but it just didn't make up for the lack of flavor. Something about it all tasted off. The crepe was rubbery and didn't have a good flavor to it either. We both didn't finish our deserts. It was a bit pricey in my opinion but at least they are giving out big portions. The milk teas are horrible always warm like if they have been sitting there for hours. Also took over 30 min to make 3 drinks and while waiting the lady working was flirting with some customers and then proceeded to say "don't tell my boyfriend lol". Very unprofessional. Hana Banana Crepes are HUGE. Even thou they have samples for you to look at and notice you will truly feel it once you order one for one person snd your tummy is like WOW. Hana Banana crepes sizes are big enough for 2-4 people. This is a cute place to come for dessert when the sun came down and enjoy outside with a date. Before coming here I had in mind a crepe with Nutella but then I was offered the crepe with ice cream (new concept for me) so I tried and it was good. I still enjoy a classic crepe best. As far as taste, I would give this 5 stars. However, I was literally the only person inside when I walked in, & the two ladies standing there didn't greet me at all. I brushed it off, but when I asked the one who got out a tub of ice cream without me ordering yet if they had any savory crepes, she seemed miffed to tell me that they did. Then, when I quickly decided what I wanted & told her, she said in a very short tone, "She can take your order over there." None of this is worthy of one star, alone, but then when my husband & I got cold waiting outside, I went inside just to see if it was warmer in there. I came in due to the boba teas! Not very impressed with my milk tea boba drink. The flavor was more milk and sugar, no distinct milk tea taste. My husband got the horchata baba tea drink and it tasted exactly like mine. No distinct horchata flavor either. The black bobas tasted like maple syrup and were mushy. Came here on Halloween for a cheat day. For my one day of the week where I break my 50g/day carb this was junk beyond junk. This location would be better off not filling their crepes and just selling the skin. The whip cream was mostly hydrogenated fat no milky savory flavor, icecream was very watery and melted way too fast, the brownie and cheesecake tasted freezer burnt. Cashier charged me for bottled water but didn't give it to my friend when he picked up my order. We were so done with the crepes we didn't even want to go back in the store. We ordered our crepe with Cookies n' Creme ice cream, topped with strawberries, and drizzled with Nutella syrup. My sister also ordered a one of their milk tea boba drinks (that seem to be set at one size and priced at $4.49). I was a little disappointed with the drink - it tasted pretty bland and lacked consistency with some of the tapioca pearls falling apart and others were hard to chew. Hana Banana is a great dessert alternative to the frozen yogurt places at The Fountains, they specialize in crepes and waffles, and make both of them really well. I honestly had never thought of having a waffle in a non-breakfast setting, but I was feeling adventurous and was pleasantly surprised. Had a waffle topped with ice cream and whipped cream and loved it, the warmth of the waffle gets the ice cream to the sweet spot right before it starts melting, it's a tasty treat! Topping selection is a tad limited, mostly fruits and nuts, but it still allows for many combinations. Crepes do take a little while, because that's what most people order and it's a more delicate process, but waffles are done quickly. The place is tiny and there are only a couple of tables outside, but it is right on the promenade level, so you can take your dessert to one of the many outdoor seating spots in the Fountains. We enjoy stopping here, usually after we are done with the Verizon Learning Labs (across the street). It's normally in the mornings and it's often empty, so service has been quick. Today I had a cheesecake crepe, which comes with an actual piece of cheesecake. I know - all that sweetness! I'm blessed with great friends that didn't mind stuffing their faces with what I ordered. The customer service here is blah like some of the reviews I read before I went here so I wasn't expecting any difference. We walked in and two of the workers were cleaning and chatting at the front and no one greeted us. They looked at us and continue with their chatting. This isn't my first time, but my first review for HB. The crepes are good, very filling and they make them fresh. They specialize in fresh, organic ingredients. You could see the crepe maker which I find very cool to watch. I may return to try their coffee, they had several blends on the menu. Hot coffe just isn't appealing when it's triple digit heat outdoors. Not a fan of their boba tea, horchata had no clue it was made of rice milk. VERY bland. 2 stars because the place is filthy. The floors are dirty, the sitting area is not clean and the seats they provide are very uncomfortable. I've always disliked waiting here because the seating is so bad. The crepe making area had a lot of batter splattered all around the wheel, cleanliness is not a priority it seems. If everyone can watch you make their food & drinks it should be super clean. Went in and ordered 2 crepes. I told them about my husbands extreme severe strawberry allergy that will send him into anaphylactic shock. Then I watched them put strawberries all over one crepe with their hands and use the same gloves to make his with. I asked them to remake it and use clean gloves because this would send him into the hospital and they were flat out offended that I asked and then let me know that there's a risk of cross contamination with everything they serve because they don't use separate utensils for different products. It's tough dealing with allergies to begin with but even more frustrating when you can't feel confident that a restaurant won't take health code seriously. I work in the food service & cross contamination is not supposed to happen this is a very clear violation. Although i personally prefer french styled crepes, the ones they make at Hana Banana is of great value and quality nonetheless. Extremely tasty! I ordered a crepe with bananas, strawberries, and some fudge. It was a little messy to eat, but very good. They very astutely place their sample crepes and waffles on the window for display. All the crepes and waffles are made to order so they are always fresh and hot and that is not something you can get anywhere else here. Literally an explosion of flavor in your mouth. I would honestly suggest sharing here because the size of the serving is large and with maximum sugar doses. One time i made it here an hour and 15 minutes before closing and they informed me they had already cleaned the waffle machine so they only served crepes. That doesn't seem like a smart thing to do and the place was packed with disappointed customers. They didn't have a sign and they weren't initially letting customers know before they ordered so customers were disappointed. I love several kinds of crepes but my favorite is a simple nutella and banana crepe. This place does not even come close to making a good crepe. The crepe was cold. We spent about 17 dollars for two drinks, a smoothie and a boba drink and one crepe to share. We got one of the more expensive crepes with 3 topping choices (I chose bananas, strawberries, and kiwis), Nutella drizzle, and vanilla ice cream (that's why it was a bit more expensive). Overall the crepe was good but I wanted it to be more crispy, those girls did not look too welcoming as I was going to ask to add that special instruction in. I didn't ask because of that, also because there were other people.. curse my shyness. The workers (they're all fairly young girls btw) were very fast in making our order and we sat to eat. The only reason why I give this review such a low rating was because all of the workers were cussing out loud.
