Manage your expectations peeps, this is South Dakota! Sick of Chislic and mediocre bar food we found a Korean/Sushi place. There was a little confusion over the difference between Sushi and Sashimi as I don't think they are used to people asking for Sashimi. We ordered some salmon and eel sashimi - but hey used the rice later for our jigae. There are only two things on the menu that are Korean, we went off menu and asked about Soon Du Bu and Champong. Chef came up with a very spicy Soon Dubu - enough for two to share. Silky tofu after all this darn meat in South Dakota was just what the doctor ordered. We added a monkey brain and Ta Da! late afternoon dinner. There is a selection of wine and Sake. I think having the option of a couple of jigae (soups) for the coming winter written on the board as specials would hit the spot. read more

This is a great spot located a few minutes outside of downtown. The sushi is pretty good and the price is better than most other places in the area. The bibimbap was awesome and the only place I've been able to find in town that makes it. *If you order bibimbap to go or delivery it does not come premixed and obviously doesn't come in a hot stone bowl. Decided to come here after being told there would be an hour wait Fuji Steakhouse for lunch. Nothing but great things to say about the food. The waiter was super nice. Surprised this place was empty. Everything was very okay to me. We were greeted by a flustered host who asked how many we had in our party, then ended up letting us seat ourselves. Our server came not too long after that, and got our drinks and orders, but for the rest of our dinner, she was not as present to get refills and our check. I ordered the Chap Che with chicken, and my husband got the Aloha Chicken Katsu, which were both solid 3 star dishes for me. I've never had chap che before, but I feel like their rendition doesn't do the popular Korean dish any justice. There wasn't anything too special about it -- bland at best. On the other hand, I /have/ had chicken katsu, before. The batter on the chicken was perfectly golden and crispy. The sauce however, was not katsu sauce at all, but rather a sweet and sour sauce. My husband's dish also came with a salad and miso soup. The salad was very depressing -- chopped iceberg covered in dressing, with carrots on top. He took one look at it and said he didn't want it. I hate wasting food, so I at least tried it, but I really could not bear to palate it. Miso soup is basic, you can't go wrong with that. Based on this single experience, I would not come back to Hana. It wasn't terrible, but definitely not something I'm willing to pay money for. read more

Great waiter. The interior is in serious need of tlc. Chipped tables, worn dirty looking glassware etc. Sushi was just ok. Cuts weren't exactly uniform and pretty, uneven in spots. Fish was good though. Tables sat dirty while the servers ran their asses off. Owner sat at the bar playing with her phone seemingly unwilling to help bus tables. Probably doesn't make for a happy work place. Would try again next time in town and hope they've improved. Everyone needs a second chance. read more

We were done with our dinner and that is when they started making it. Well shame on me for trying a sushi roll at a Korean place. So I will give a strong 4 stars for the food. Food wasn't hot when we got it hom, 4 min drive. Portions were tiny for the prices. Ribs were all fat and gristle. Maybe 2 bites of meat. I'm not an adventurous eater, but our friends brought us here and the food was fresh and delicious. We had Blue Moon Rangoons, chicken teriyaki, beef bulgogi along with house salad with ginger sauce, lots of egg rolls and miso soup. All was good. Found out this is a new owner who has worked hard to bring about much needed improvements. The restaurant was clean and neat, the staff was attentive, but not too distracting. The outside of the building is underwhelming but I was pleasantly surprise to find the inside was nicely decorated. We were promptly seated for lunch by the sushi chef which was odd. We settled on a spicy tuna roll, calamari, and a uncalifornia. They had the lunch special, buy one get one half off so we added another spicy tuna. The rolls were nice, fish was fresh, and the rice was sweetened nicely. The spicy tuna roll tasted like wasabi, no tuna flavor came through. It was rolled very large and made for a big bite. The calamari roll was underwhelming. The uncalifornia roll was the best roll we had. Overall everything was okay but I won't be returning soon. read more

I ordered food to-go and used the menu off of the website. The prices were completely different when I arrived and was paying. I asked why the prices are different and the owner/manager said google won't take it down. The blonde-haired hostess was rude to me. I understand that but the menu only doesn't say that on it. I will be ordered from Fuji instead from now on. The reviews of this establishment speak for it-self, avoid the head-ache and order from the other sushi restaurants in town. Ramen came almost immediately, but I told the teenage boy who took my order that I'd like it split between two bowls and two spoons. It was split between two bowls, but no spoons. I asked for the spoons, and hadn't received them until a teenage girl asked me what I was waiting for (one roll of sushi shouldn't take that long either), and overheard the kids laughing about the spoons. After about a half hour, the sushi arrives with the spoons. Great. The Ramen was so spicy it was inedible. There is absolutely nothing on the menu to indicate that it would be. If I was a restaurant owner, I would be up all night would having guys about that. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. read more

We are from out of town and this place is a whole in the wall. We came back twice during our stay in Rapid city! Our first visit was great. My group ordered mostly the Korean food. Chapjae was delish as well at their galbi dish. Second visit, Shawn was attentive but it did take a bit longer for our food to come out. Shawn made sure we knew when our food was going to be ready and also threw in some free things like kimchi and Mochi dessert due to the longer wait. Disappointing to say the least. Waitress was nice ... when she came by, but her service and the responsiveness of her chefs were abysmal. Food was not worth it, even with their special price. We ordered the following as an appetizer and it took 30 minutes to come out... One avocado roll... 75% rice. Salmon nigiri ... thin slice .. not paper thin deli ham thin ... but maybe three widths of that thin. 80% rice Hamachi nigiri ... not as thin. 70% rice. We we're afraid to order more because who knew how long a complicated order would take? And frankly, we'd already had enough rice. This used to be not only our favorite sushi restaurant, but one of our top places to eat period. The last few years the service has absolutely fallen apart. It is not uncommon for your rolls to take well over an hour LONGER than what they estimate for you. Prior to the virus eating here for lunch wasn't even an option...unless you can take a two hour lunch. Great food, but unless you have a ton of time to kill, don't bother. read more

I went to the store and did some grocery shopping (pre COVID19). I realized that I'd been in the store for an hour so I checked out and headed to Hana.
