I was excited to try this place because my college kid had been here several times and loved it for their good, cheap eats, friendly atmosphere, and food selection. Unfortunately, we did not have that experience today. Maybe it's under new ownership with the same name? Anyway, it was disappointing. The place seemed clean enough and the cashier was friendly but the selection was greatly diminished. Only one vegetarian selection so I got the veggie yakisoba and my kid got the chicken yakisoba. Both were overly sweet and generally flavorless. So much cabbage and onions with a few bits of carrot, broccoli, and mushroom. Barely better than a cup of rehydrated noodles. It was a large portion for $14 (for what was probably $2 of ingredients). It's only a few hours later and my stomach is wondering why I bothered with the place. My kid even said that the place smelled totally different than it used to, not in a good way. No ambience worth sticking around for. We were going to eat there but ended up leaving and walked a block to eat at a picnic table instead, which was the best part of our lunch today. read more

Hana is my favorite Teriyaki spot in Bellingham... Actually Washington! I don't often review because I'm lazy. However I have to make an exception for Hana. The portions are huge and the prices are cheap. The owners are nice and obviously take pride in their food. It's one of the rare truly win win places to get food. I don't go to Hana for the atmosphere and for a fine dining experience; it's not like that or trying to be like that. I don't go here to be healthy, fast teriyaki isn't healthy, it's a treat and it's amazing. I go to get a delicious cheap filling hot meal and then go home and eat. This is the greatest teriyaki place in bellingham, and potentially the world. The food is always delicious, the teriyaki sauce is thick and rich, their rice is cooked to perfection and you get an actual MOUNTAIN of food for normal teriyaki prices. I cannot recommend Hana more then I already do. They have your order quick and on-time if you call in for take out. read more

Very large portions of chicken and beef are the good things about this meal. I got lunch to go for 2, same dishes of combo chicken and beef. I would rate the chicken and beef flavors just above average. The rice is just average sticky rice that could be better. The sauce is good and and there is enough of it. Salad is crisp and fresh and the dressing is fine. I would say the food is just above average compared to places in the Seattle area but better than the other places in Bellingham. I wish I had a true go to place for Teriyaki in town. I will just keep getting other kinds of food as this is as good as it gets I guess. I saw a review about the ventilation here, and that is true they need to have their vent hood worked on, it was not bad, but not good for sure. I got the food to go so was only there for 5 min. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND AVOID AT ALL COSTS. My spicy chicken teriyaki was pink- electric watermelon pink. I've ordered SCT 100+ times and never EVER had pink meat. One bite and I couldn't eat anymore. Barely any flavor to detect spice- not to mention my "chicken" didn't have a chicken taste- wasn't hot heat wise or spice . I told the guy running the counter this is non-edible and he said "You ordered spicy chicken teriyaki- everyone loves my teriyaki, why don't you?" My god, who sells pink meat and tries to blame the customer? Poor business that needs a health inspection ASAP! read more

August 2022, customer for 10 years or more. Fresh, quick and delicious. Usual takeout order of basic chicken teriyaki with white rice and salad. Very generous portion of chicken and rice. The chicken teriyaki is good but apparently they aren't allowed to give you extra teriyaki sauce anymore, on the side or directly over the food (and how is it any different from the sauce they already put directly on the food???) so I likely won't be back because I don't like dry rice. read more

I heard this place serves good teriyaki, so went to check it out. The lunch menu is till 3:00 pm, and because I arrived a few minutes late, I had to order a dinner menu. They said Chicken is the most popular, but I decided to try Pork teriyaki, $8.99. They give you a generous portion, I couldn't eat them all. The salad came with the meal was iceberg lettuce only, different from the photo on the menu. If you are looking for balanced nutrition, this will not do, but you get plenty of meat and rice. Pork teriyaki tasted ok, not superb, but good. Free tea, serve yourself. This place looks like a fast-food Japanese restaurant from the outside and it is exactly just that. Their service is fast but the food lacks flavor. All of their meat entrees are saturated in teriyaki sauce and the salads are just some lettuce drizzled with sesame sauce. read more

Ordered the hot and spicy chicken and was extremely disappointed with what I got. For starters the entire inside of the restaurant smelled of smoke, my brief 5 minutes inside left me and my car stinking like a chimney. Chicken was bright red, as if it had been soaked in dye. Taste was terrible, besides from the sauce the chicken itself had no seasoning and the only prevalent flavor was burnt, exactly the same as how the place smelled. After about a 1/2 of the container, I became repulsed by the food and was not able to finish it, which is very unusual for myself. I now have an stomach ache with some mild nausea and I'm fearful of tomorrow's aftermath. Maybe I'll update tomorrow. The only reason I'm not giving this 1 star is because the portion was so big. Easily could have been 4-5 chicken thighs in that one box which is plenty of food for the money. If you don't have quite as selective of a pállate as me then go ahead and try it. Otherwise, I think this place is not worth your time. Definitely will not be returning again, this was one of the worst teriyakis I've ever had. read more

This is an awesome Terkyiaki spot!! I've been going here with my dad since I was little kid. My go to is the spicy teriyaki with standard rice and salad on the side. I like this place a lot mainly because of the quality and portion size. I believe portion size is everything. If there's a good amount of teriyaki and I still can't finish it, well then bam it's for leftovers! The location of this establishment isn't the best, however. Lots of bums and rough characters hang around the area so just be cautious in that regard. I know inflation is out of control, but these guys have found plenty of ways to cut corners while charging way way more than they used to. I ordered a chicken teriyaki and a side of Gyoza and it was $30. The chicken is now placed in the back of the container where the two little divots are for sides so you get less chicken. The large side of teriyaki sauce used to be one dollar and now it's four dollars, you're not getting any extra, they're just putting it in a larger container, and it didn't taste the same, they have changed some thing, but I don't know what it is. They are using way less dressing so the salad is basically just lettuce. I will never ever eat there again, I could have gone to a Chinese restaurant and picked a full size, dinner plate, and an extra large soup for the same price. Lastly they have a new screen system that asks you how much you want to tip - pretty sneaky really because it makes you feel obligated instead of just having that jar that says tips on it. they are very clever, but also very deceiving. Kevin and I decided to go to this place because we always get teriyaki whenever we go out to catch up. The previous teriyaki restaurant we went to in Bellingham was terrible, and so we were really hoping this place would be good. We arrived right before the lunch rush. This place is really popular! The cashier was friendly. I ordered the pork teriyaki and Kevin ordered the spicy chicken teriyaki. The good came fairly quickly, which is a plus. My pork teriyaki was really good. They aren't stingy about the amount of sauce they give. Not too little, but not too much. The spicy chicken teriyaki sauce was unusually pink/reddish color. It wasn't that spicy either. Overall, I enjoyed eating here. I wish it was a bit closer to downtown though. read more

Good teriyaki, and reasonably priced. I enjoy the chicken and beef teriyaki combo, but sometimes try different things. I haven't really enjoyed the yakisoba, but the teriyaki is excellent. Parking can sometimes be a challenge, but you can usually find a spot to park behind the restaurant if there isn't a spot on the street. read more
