A place like Hanara leaves you inspired. I frankly haven't stopped thinking about it since I went. I was at a conference in the Arboretum, and we split off from the typical conference hullabaloo to grab lunch. Of the numerous options to choose from, we easily landed on Hanara as everyone in my party loves sushi. Inside, the shop is fun-sized. The sushi and ordering counter is tucked away with a few seats downstairs and a small dining space upstairs. You order at the counter and the food is brought to you. It's quick and convenient. The sushi chef and the other employee were moving like the backcourt of Chauncey Billups and Richard Hamilton. I didn't care about the massive amount of sushi options on the menu. I didn't care about the teriyaki bowls. I didn't care about the ramen. I cared about something I have been craving since moving to Austin. Something that deserves to be done well. A bento box. Especially the unagi one they were offering at Hanara. I felt like LeBron James's Instagram story: Smiling through it all! Can't believe this is my life. Look at the attached picture. Unagi sauced up with avocado, wasabi, and ginger. Plus a salad, two California rolls, white rice, gyoza, and tempura. Holy cow. I was eating good. I don't know what else to say. I yearn for a meal like this on the regular. Nothing in this bento was a miss. Banger after banger like it was The House Is Burning by Isaiah Rashad. Walked out rather than eating here. When we came In there were 3 working employees in a very small front of restaurant. There was a smell- it was probably some sort of cleaner, but it stunk and was not appetizing and did not smell clean. Then they gave me a hard to read menu saying you had to order at the register. The place is a quaint little restaurant you can easily miss walking around at the Arboretum. We had the Poke bowls which were delicious. The service was great especially that they changed my friends menu due to his medical needs. He asked to get the poke bowl without the rice and they immediately altered the menu for him. What I liked was that even they took out the rice his poke bowl was just as large as mine. The way the bowls were served it was straight eye candy , wonderful! And the food was super fresh !! Placed a pickup door-dash order of: edamame, a king of king roll and a sweet potato roll. My edamame didn't come seasoned with salt or some spicy sauce which was disappointing. The king of king roll was decent. The sweet potato roll I found to be quite dense with not much potato with defeats the purpose. Overall it was decent but I wouldn't come out of the way for the food. Went here for a Sunday lunch and it's a pretty unassuming restaurant. Tucked inside the Arboretum area, this place sells both sushi and some Korean food. I got the spicy pork Bento box and it wasn't too bad. It's what I expected for spicy pork. Maybe it could it be a little spicier. This place has wonderful Don Buri, it called Beef Bulgogi as it is a korean place. But the best Don Buri outside of Japan! Inside is a little to compact and not an inviting atmophere, but you can get it to go and eat at the many tables outside! read more

I placed an order to go through yelp grub hub. The bulgogi bowl is the worst I've ever had. It just tastes salty. I don't taste any soy sauce, sugar, or sesame oil. This is disgusting and I wouldn't order bulgogi from here again. The carrots taste like it droppedl on a surface washed with bleach or Mr. Clean. I'm pretty sure I just swallowed a carrot that's been touched with household cleaner. This is not healthy at all. read more

Such a wonderful find near the Arboretum! The location is great for sunset views, and the vibe is very peaceful and cozy. The udon noodles were perfectly chewy, and the poke was seasoned so well. My biggest thing is that this doesn't really work for a group bigger than 2 unless you want to eat it outside as their interior dining is extremely limited (like can seat maybe 20 people at a time total). We ended up eating outside which was fine but definitely something to consider. Would probably work better as a take out spot. read more

Great sushi spot! The size of the sushi was beyond what I was first thinking of. We ate at the upstairs section at this sushi restaurant. Quite small, which didn't bother us at all. Salmon bento Comes with tempura, sushi, salmon, rice, salad The salmon is a bit dry but overall the box is good. I think this is a good value meal when you're near the Arboretum area! They have seating downstairs and upstairs but water cups are only available downstairs so make sure to get those before going up. Utensils are available upstairs. read more

Such a cute little spot! While walking around the Arboretum, I stumbled upon Hanara and decided to give it a try. Our order came out quickly, and as a huge bulgogi fan, I had to try the bulgogi bento. Safe to say, it's now one of my favorite bulgogi spots in Austin!
